“No matter how busy you are, you must take time to help someone else.”
Truly believing in this, team Kowrk has been working to give back to society. In 2017, we had organized talks to spread awareness about Autism. This Diwali, we partnered with Mumbai Dabbawala to collect and distribute used clothes in and around Mumbai.
Our drive – “Clothes of Happiness” ran over 6 weeks. Team Kowrk worked with coworking spaces in Mumbai and organized donation camps to collect used and usable clothes. Mumbai Dabbawala distributed the clothes to those in need through their KapdaBank Team.
We collected more than 1,000 clothes from people working at coworking spaces and those living around the donation camps. Believe it or not, it was indeed a very challenging project requiring participation and coordination among different groups. We planned multiple collection drives, coordinated with coworking spaces, collected clothes, stored clothes in a temporary warehouse, send them to the Kapdabank team and then finally distributing those around Diwali. It was all a hard work and our team had to work overtime but we all really enjoyed.
We want to thank all the participants who helped us reach our motive of “Helping Others and Spreading Love and Kindness”. We will continue to do such drives in the coming years and hope that we will be able to help many others.
Until then, let’s all remember that “A good deed is the best prayer!”

When you are searching for a job and have yet to land a single interview or offer, you may begin to feel discouraged. You may be wondering what you can do better, and that’s a great start to refreshing your job hunt efforts. There’s always room for improvement when it comes to applying and interviewing for positions. So, if you want to really impress potential employers and get more job offers, you need to follow these simple tips.
Assemble a Stand Out Resume
Before you begin planning and practicing for your interview, you have to grab the attention of hiring managers. These days, very few industries rely on in-person applications. It’s all about your resume, so make sure the version managers get is polished and full of pertinent information. How you structure your resume will depend on your level of experience, education, and the job you are hoping to snag. For example, if you recently graduated from college and have little job experience, you want to make your education achievements stand out. You can use online templates as a guide for putting together your first resume, or you can ask an experienced friend or family member to help you out. Having another person look your resume over can also prevent typos and mistakes, which could cause managers to lose interest.
Start Prepping for Your Interview
Getting called for an interview can be exciting, but it can also be a big source of stress and anxiety. You may wonder what to say, what to expect, and how you can make the best impression on hiring managers. Preparing for interviews is your best bet at making sure things go smoothly and helping yourself stand out from other applicants. Even if you think you know about the company you want to work for, it’s still smart to do some homework so your knowledge is up to date. Also, look over any industry-related questions or topics that may be helpful, and always come prepared with extra copies of your resume, portfolios, and any other paperwork you think may be helpful for you, or your interviewers.
Put Together a Polished Outfit
You can have all the right answers and credentials, but if you show up looking unprofessional, you could still leave a bad impression on hiring managers. What you wear to an interview is the very first thing managers see, so make sure you are looking sharp. Choose an outfit that is one level above the company dress code, and make sure all of your clothing is clean, free of wrinkles, and well-fitted. If you have pets, be sure to bring a lint roller with you so you can get all that fur off your outfit before you walk inside, and be careful with your hygiene as well.
Follow Up with a ‘Thank You’ Letter
Acing an interview is only part of the offer equation. If you forget to follow up, many hiring managers may take note, but if you send a thoughtful “thank you” note, you are sure to leave a lasting impression on your potential new boss. You should be okay sending your note via email, and this also gives you the opportunity to attach any paperwork or information you forgot to bring to your interview. In certain industries, however, like non-profit fundraising and client relations, sending a handwritten thank you may be expected. Keep some blank stationery on hand and be brief in this version, but do take care to write legibly.
Landing your dream position takes some work, but above all, it takes some patience. You have to be willing to spend time crafting the perfect resume, fully preparing for the interview and making an impression on hiring managers. After all that hard work, don’t forget to get some rest and don’t forget to be yourself when you start the interview process.
