June is National Fresh Fruit and Vegetables Month. Most low-carbers avoid fruit with the exception of berries in small amounts. I eat fresh berries at breakfast most mornings, but that's pretty much it for fruit. Vegetables, on the other hand, I eat liberally at every meal. November is National Diabetes Month, and I can't think of a better presentation on the subject than this one given by my friend and colleague, Jackie Eberstein. Jackie is an registered nurse who worked closely with Dr. Robert Atkins in his private practice for nearly 30 years. During that time, they treated thousands of people with diabetes and prediabetes using a low-carb diet. In this excellent presentation, Jackie discusses the six-stage progression from insulin resistance to advanced diabetes and how carb restriction can halt and often reverse this process. She also shares her own story about how low-carb changed her life and has helped her stay healthy and vibrant for over 40 years.

This month's video presentation features Dr. Nicolai Worm, a nutrition researcher from German with expertise in nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. I had the pleasure of meeting him and speaking with him in July when we both presented at the Low Carb USA conference in San Diego. I'm sharing the excellent presentation he gave at that conference, although recorded a few months earlier at Low Carb Breckenridge. This was definitely one of my favorite talks (He and I share a very similar approach to balanced, healthy low-carb living), and I hope you enjoy it as well.
