There’s always something we could or should be doing to make our lives a little healthier, isn’t there? While taking up a 10k run regularly or eating no sugar ever again might sound like a stretch too far, there are simple swaps you can make at mealtimes for a quick health boost.
We’re talking about oil. Switching to rapeseed oil in place of your usual store cupboard staple could help boost your Omega 3 intake. Replacing olive oil with rapeseed oil can also help lower your saturated fat intake, so it’s a win-win!
Rapeseed oil comes from the tiny black seeds of the sunshine-yellow rapeseed flower, grown in fields throughout the UK countryside in the spring time. The seeds are about the size of a poppy seed, with a golden-yellow centre, and it’s only once they have reached their peak that they’re gathered by the Mazola farmers. Once collected, crushed and heated, the oil is then extracted and fully refined for the best rapeseed oil.
Mazola 100% Rapeseed Oil, priced from £1.50 when on promotion, has a high smoke point which makes it ideal for frying. Its mild flavour means it can be used as a base for salad dressings or a marinade for meat and fish, allowing the main ingredients to really shine and become the main focus of any dish. It gives you the confidence to know that you’ll get a great result, every time – whatever dish you’re planning!
Another easy oil switch you can make is to corn oil – which, like rapeseed, has a high smoke point – meaning it’s ideal for frying, baking and roasting to perfection. Aside from its practical benefits it’s also lower in saturated fat than olive oil and coconut oil. Create the crispiest chips by using Mazola 100% Pure Corn Oil, £2.25, to deep fry, or roast some Mediterranean vegetables with the oil and some seasoning on a high heat for a hearty warm summer salad.
So, what are you waiting for? Find Mazola oils at Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrison’s, Co-Op and Asda to make the most of summer meal times. You can also find mouthwatering recipes and more information at mazola.co.uk.

Loose Women panellist Janet Street-Porter has ripped into Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice during today’s episode of the ITV chat show, claiming that the sisters should not be classed as members of the royal family.
Appearing alongside co-stars Coleen Nolan, Brenda Edwards and Kelle Bryan, Janet and her fellow loose ladies discussed the news that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are spending £2.4 million of public money on renovating Frogmore Cottage.
Feisty journalist Janet wasn’t too fussed over the amount of cash being spent doing up Meghan and Harry’s marital home, saying, “I don’t think it’s much money in the global scheme of running the royal family.”
The 72-year-old media personality then went on to declare to the panel that she would like to see the number of royals reduced, suggesting Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice should be removed from the family.
She said, “I’d like to see the royal family slimmed down so there wasn’t Beatrice and Eugenie and all these other ones, all the peripheral ones.”
Janet is renowned for openly voicing her opinions on the royals during Loose Women broadcasts, having previously criticised Prince Harry over claims he snubbed president Donald Trump during his state visit.
“I think he should grow up,” Janet said.
“Isn’t he 30 something? That’s the behaviour of a toddler really. I feel with Prince Harry the tax payer contributes to his upkeep and he should have just been dignified.”
Speaking to Closer magazine back in March he continued, “Some of the people I work with talk to people like s***, but I treat the runner on my TV shows exactly the same as I do the executive producers.”
Since rising to fame back in 2012, Rylan has fronted various programmes, so it is unclear who he was referring to.
The resurfaced remarks follow news that BGT judge Amanda Holden confirmed her rift with This Morning presenter Phillip on her Heart FM radio show yesterday.
It has been reported by The Sun that the relationship between the pair soured when Phillip actively campaigned for Rochelle Humes to replace This Morning co-host Holly Willoughby during her stint presenting in the I’m A Celeb jungle last year.
Amanda was said to be snubbed for the role despite being more experienced than Rochelle, and allegedly feels that Phil ‘unfairly used his powers of persuasion’ to make sure she didn’t land the gig.
Speaking on her show alongside Jamie Theakston, Amanda, 48, revealed that Phillip, 57, had ignored her attempts to patch things up with an invite to have coffee together last year.
Former actress Amanda explained, “I’ve moved on from it, Jamie, you need to move on from it.
“I did offer to meet him for a coffee months ago, he didn’t reply to my text. What can I say?”
Jamie enquired, “The olive branch had been extended.”
And if that’s right up your street, you’re in luck, as Aldi have just launched a range of delicious sounding fruity ciders, which will be ideal for the months ahead.
The Alska ciders come in two different fruity flavours; a rhubarb and pink grapefruit, and a peach mango and lime. Our mouth are watering already…
They’ll work for everyone too, as the tasty, bubbly drinks are also vegan friendly and gluten-free! They contain 4% alcohol, so have a reasonable enough alcohol content to enjoy on a weekday night too, if you feel like it…
But best of all, the new Aldi ciders are available for a very reasonable price indeed, and will be selling in stores for just 99p. Yep, you heard that right!
Katie Price secretly has her eye on Love Island hunks Tommy Fury and Anton Danyluk, it has been reported.
Having tuned in to watch follow this year’s Islander’s every move with the rest of the nation, the 40-year-old former glamour model has set her sights on 20-year-old boxer Tommy and 24-year-old gym owner, Anton.
This certainly isn’t the first time Katie has had a crush on one of the Love Island lads. The mum-of-five confessed to fancying series three star, Chris Hughes, allegedly sharing flirty messages with him back in 2017.
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM - JUNE 08: (EMBARGOED FOR PUBLICATION IN UK NEWSPAPERS UNTIL 24 HOURS AFTER CREATE DATE AND TIME) Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Charles, Prince of Wales watch a flypast from the balcony of Buckingham Palace during Trooping The Colour, the Queen's annual birthday parade, on June 8, 2019 in London, England. The annual ceremony involving over 1400 guardsmen and cavalry, is believed to have first been performed during the reign of King Charles II. Another year means that the annual royal spending report has been released, revealing exactly how the likes of the Queen, Prince Charles, and Duchess of Cambridge spent their money over the last 12 months.
The Sovereign Grant Report, which explains all the expenses, reveals how the money that the family get from the government is spent.
The grant has been used for years to fund the official duties of the monarch.
This year, it has offered a rare look at the funding and costs of Harry and Meghan’s new home, Frogmore Cottage, and the cost of the extensive renovation inside Buckingham Palace.
But perhaps one of the other interesting glimpses into the finances of the royal family is how much they spent on travel between March 2018 and 2019.
And some of the biggest spenders of the year were Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, who spent about £792,708 on three of their biggest trips abroad – the three priciest of the entire royal family over the last year.
But this is perhaps no surprise – as the next in line to the throne, Charles is required to step in more than ever when it comes to official duties on behalf of the Queen, meaning he and his wife have gone on the most official trips abroad out of the entire senior set of royals.
Town and Country broke down Prince Charles and Camilla’s spending, and the grant reveals that they spent £416,576 on travel on their trip to the Caribbean in March, £216,312 on their tour of Gambia, Ghana, and Nigeria last November – and £159,820 on their visit to France and Greece, in May 2018.
The total cost of Prince Charles and Camilla’s travel throughout the year is thought to be around £1.3 million, including trips the Prince of Wales made himself.
He also used the Royal Train most regularly, which is estimated to cost around £20,000 each time it is used.
Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s first official tour abroad, of Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga, was the fourth most expensive royal trip of the year, with travel taking £81,000 out of the grant.
The Soverign Grant always funds the royals travel expenses, such as the cost of flights, cars and everything in between.

The chef began, “Hi, I was in two minds about whether or not to do this video for Instagram, but then I want to tell you why I’ve got this plaster on the side of my nose and these marks on my cheek.
“A couple of weeks ago, I went to go and see my GP and he diagnosed me with BCC, that’s Basal Cell Carcinoma, that is benign skin cancer to you and me, and yes, it did freak me out a little bit at first, but he sent me to go and see a specialist who dealt with it straight away, very quickly, very painlessly.”
A post shared by Alex Hollywood (@alex_hollywood1) on Jun 24, 2019 at 10:30am PDT
In the caption, Alex added, “I wanted you lot to see this because I know that we’re all scared of the C’ word .. I’m lucky, this is no big deal but it’s a bit of a wake up call and payback for those years I spent poolside and mucking around in boats as a Scuba Instructor, in and out of the water with little or no sunscreen!
“We all need to be more self aware, so with that in mind – I really hope you’ll all have a good look at yourselves tonight in the bathroom mirror – and if you’re not sure about something .. go see your GP!”
Her followers praised her for speaking out, and some said her post had prompted them to make an appointment.
One replied, “You’ve made me make an appointment, have been putting my head in the sand with a couple of blemishes on my face that I really should get looked at….thank you (am glad all ok with yours).”
In 2017, Alex and Paul announced they had split following 20 years of marriage.
According to recent reports, the Bake Off host will give his ex-wife £5 million and their £2.4 million home as their divorce is finalised in the coming weeks.

SCOUR POWER: HOW TO HINCH YOURSELF HAPPY
How did housework become the biggest social media trend of 2019? Just ask Mrs Hinch - the ultimate queen of clean - whose passion for polishing began as a way to beat her crippling anxiety. And, as her followers propel to more than two million - Sophie Hinchliffe joins us ahead of the release of her (already) best-selling book ‘Hinch Yourself Happy’.
Mrs Hinch is almost as well-known for her glamorous looks as she is for her expert cleaning tips.
But the 29-year-old cleaning guru – who has just had her first baby with husband Jamie – has admitted that she hasn’t always looked so good, revealing she was eight stone heavier a decade ago.
Decade of difference
Sharing a picture of herself back in 2009 alongside a current snap for the popular social media ‘#10yearchallenge’ frenzy, Sophie said, “The 10-year challenge pics I’ve seen across social media must have taken a lot for some people to post.”
She told her ‘Hinch army’, ”It’s not something I would ever usually do, or have done. But I’ve realised there’s a really strong message behind them all.
“Whatever perception you may have of how perfect someone’s life may appear… We never really know what people are going through inside… So please never judge a book by its cover and always be kind. Love Soph xx.”
Sophie admitted that her weight loss was initially down to a £6,000 gastric band operation, which she underwent when she was just 21 after piling on the pounds due to her love of fast food.
No easy ride
She admitted, “I’d just passed my driving test, so I was able to go out in the car and get takeaways at McDonald’s Drive-Thrus. Before I knew it, I was eating for what felt like eating’s sake. I was getting pizzas and deliveries. I love food, even now.”
The Instagram star says that clothes shopping became a struggle and she wore baggy outfits as much as possible to “fit in” – but ended up hitting rock bottom when she couldn’t fit into a seat on a fairground ride.
“Having to get off that ride was the most humiliating feeling I’ve ever had,” she explained. “It hit me, the stares, and the way people look at you.”
Sophie, who was a part-time hairdresser at the time, was forced to take out a loan to cover her operation, but it ended in disaster because two years after the band was inserted, she was left in crippling pain when it slipped and ended up lodged in her oesophagus.
She was quickly admitted to hospital and underwent an emergency operation to rectify it, and she now admits, “I was so scared.”
In 2016, Mrs Hinch had another operation to remove the excess skin that her eight-stone weight loss had left her with.
But things got worse when she developed an infection from the surgery and at one point, even feared she would lose her left arm. But thankfully, antibiotics got it under control.
Now, with the gastric band still inside her, but unclipped and not working, Sophie confesses she regrets having the operation done.
“The surgery works for some people but for me, if I had known the complications and risks, I wouldn’t have done it,” she says. “My personal experience was an absolute nightmare and I’m still dealing with the repercussions to this day.”
Mrs Hinch keeps it real
While Sophie has influenced a whole generation of ‘Hinchers’ –the name she gives her followers – to get excited about cleaning, gaining a massive 2.5 million followers since joining Instagram in March 2018, she admits she’s still working on her body confidence and wanted to show her fans the real her.
“I’m not this perfect cleaner with a perfect set-up,” she says. ”I wanted to let them know that, because people have such pressure on themselves to have a perfect life. I went through a hell of a lot, which is why my confidence isn’t great, even now.
“Body shaming angers me, because even if you lose the weight, you never forget the comments. I’m still not 100% confident with my body, but I’m getting there.”
In Piers Morgan's new documentary, Pyschopath with Piers Morgan, the GMB star will speak to Paris Bennett - a 25-year-old jailed for killing his younger sister.

'Good Morning Britain' TV show, London, UK - 19 Jun 2019
In the ITV show, Piers meets with Paris at the Ferguson Unit Texas State Prison, where he was jailed for forty years.
What did Paris Bennett do?
12 years ago, when he was just 13, Paris Bennett murdered his then four-year-old sister, Ella in their home, stabbing her in her bed repeatedly.
In the Piers Morgan documentary, he explained that he originally intended to kill his mother, Charity, but later decided to target Ella in order to get to her.
Paris explained to Piers, “For many years, there was just this hot, flaming ball of wrath in the pit of my stomach and it was directed at my mother.
“And one of the reasons why I chose to kill my sister and not someone else is because I knew that by doing that I could hurt my mother in the worst possible way, because I had always known, as a child, that the most devastating thing to my mother would be the loss of one of her children, and I found a way to take away both her children in one fell swoop.”
But despite the hideous nature of his crime, Paris Bennett doesn’t think the murder should ‘define my entire life’.
He said, “Yes, I did commit a monstrous crime but does that one mistake define my entire life…I don’t think it does.”
Paris is a diagnosed psychopath – a person without sympathy or remorse, but someone who can also be charming, friendly and charismatic in order to get what they want.
His mother Charity explained, “He’s human. He’ll be nice, personable, polite. Paris is very charming when he wants to be. I mean, he’s a psychopath.”
In the documentary, Charity also revealed to Piers that she believes he has the potential to kill her, if he is ever released from prison. He said, “Yes. I think under the right circumstances he would do it again.”
Although Paris was sentenced to 40 years in prison, he is eligible for parole in 2027, meaning he will only serve around half of his prison sentence.
However, if that is refused, he will remain in prison until 2047, by which time he will be almost 50.
Psychopath with Piers Morgan will air on ITV on Thursday night, at 9pm.
