Global Cycling Network (GCN) has managed to secure streaming of the lion’s share of the “proper” cyclocross races in Europe this season. If this works out (and remember, there have been stall sin the past with people announcing coverage, only for local sponsors to veto it late in the day), it could see the start of the end of UK fans having to watch appalling low quality illegal LIVE streams with dodgy ads all over them. The network announced plans to stream the Superprestige, Brico Cross series, DVV Trophee and Soudal Classics – summarized here by GCN’s Dan Lloyd Very excited about this. Most of the top level CX races will be live on GCN this winter. Superprestige, Brico Cross, DVV Trophy and Soudal Classics. Leading U23 and former world junior champion Tom Pidcock has been released from his contract with Telenet Fidea Lions Both parties have agreed in good terms to terminate their cooperation. Sven Nys’ team reports that they support the Yorkshire prodigy in pursuing his own course. According to veldritkrant.be, “Last year, Pidcock chose to ride his first cyclo-cross season as a promise for the Telenet Fidea Lions, in combination with a British road program. (the Wiggins road team)” The cooperation went very smoothly, but Tom looks set to ride the coming season for a British cyclocross team (according the the Telenet Fidea website) Valuable experiences “I want everyone from the Telenet Fidea Lions thank you for all they have done for me this past winter. During my months with the team, I gained valuable experiences and achieved good results. But I can not just put aside a nice offer from a British cyclocross team, ” explains Pidcock Sven Nys did not want to hinder Pidcock in pursuing his dreams. “From the very first meetings with Tom we knew how he would like his career to build up and that he is a rider who is sought after by WorldTour teams. We have worked together in a nice way in the past year and we would have preferred it for another year. But when a team of that allure makes an offer, we do not want to stop Tom. ” TP Racing The British Cyclocross Team in particular seems to be a little low on info. Only registered as ‘TP Racing’ and with 3 riders (Pidcock, Dan Tullet, and Emily Wadsworth), the team is listed on the UCI website with no jersey or other info. UPDATE In a press release from Trinity Sports Management, Tom Pidcock explained: When Trinity Sports Management discussed with me the opportunity of creating a British CX team, I just couldn’t say no. Working alongside Trinity Sports Management on organising the set up of the team, from technical partners to staff, is something that I have loved having input in. I am delighted to join the team and look forward to the new season.
