Organic Bunny Blog by Theorganicbunny - 3w ago

Last December, I featured an amazing new skincare brand in my Organic Bunny Box called Absorb Skincare and because so many of you really enjoyed it, I wanted to share a more in-depth review about the other amazing items they carry! Created by Kelly Gray, a plant-loving, Licensed Esthetician, Absorb was born in hopes to celebrate all of the healing powers our precious plants can carry. Infused with Wild Crafted and Organic plant essential oils, unrefined plant butters and oils, this line is not only super luxurious and high end but truly effective, bunnies are loving what it has done for their skin, truly. So, let’s check out some of my personal faves!

The Balm-

This magical and moisturizing balm is made for those with skin seriously in need of some TLC. The key ingredients in this product are Tamanu Oil and Black Cumin which works wonders to heal irritated or dry skin. I personally love this balm as it melts effortlessly into the skin and really does feel so restorative! When my skin is super dry, I love taking this balm and mixing a little bit of the Face Oil below with it to make a restorative overnight treatment mask! Wondering what else this balm does? Check it out below.

  • Promotes the formation of new tissue.
  • Helps with inflammatory skin conditions like dermatitis, psoriasis, and eczema!
  • Helps to heal and reduce acne and scars, yes it can be used on the face!
  • Naturally fights acne, clogged pores, and inflammation with its antibacterial, anti-inflammatory properties thanks to the Black Cumin.
  • Helps to tame redness and soothes irritations!

The Face Oil-

In need of a new everyday facial oil that will moisturize and leave you with a fresh new glow and then some!? This Face Oil is packed full of star ingredients like Prickly Pear, Raspberry Seed Oil, and Pomegranate which makes it amazing for everyday use, especially alongside Ghu Sha! Check out what their benefits are below!

  • Amino acids that may help stimulate collagen production.
  • Vitamin K which helps to brighten hyperpigmentation.
  • High in fatty acids Omega-6 and 9 as well as Vitamin E.
  • Raspberry seed oil is high in antioxidants which help fight free radicals.
  • Helps to combat sun damage and photoaging!
  • Boosts collagen and elastin production.
  • Great for fighting acne.
  • Pomegranate is also high in Omega 5 fatty acid- has strong anti-inflammatory and anti-aging properties.
  • Great for acne because of its anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties
  • Contains linoleic acid that helps balance sebum levels
The Mist-

Perfect for setting makeup or just an afternoon skin pick me up, this Mist smells like a fresh bundle of roses all while hydrating the skin to perfection! As soon as I am done cleansing my skin, I love spritzing this on as the Rose Geranium really is a must-have for my dry or dehydrated skin. I love cleansing, toning with this mist and then following up with the above Face Oil for the perfect hydrating and moisturizing skin care routine.

Body Oil-

Ultra absorbent, this body oil smells like a dream and moisturizes my skin so efficiently! As soon as I hop out of the shower, the first thing I reach for, while my skin is still moist, is body oil. Lately, this has been my go-to grab because of all of the below benefits!

  • A rich source of Palmitic and Omega 6 and Linoleic fatty acids.
  • Great source of antioxidants that are not greasy on the skin.
  • Moringa Oil serves as an antiseptic and anti-inflammatory property!
  • Marula Oil is then highly effective at treating dry skin.

Overall, this is a really clean and well-sourced brand that I really am happy to promote as it marks off all of my personal needs from a quality skin care line. Effective, clean, chic, quality and effective? What more could one need!?

As many of you know by now, I am extremely anti-dog kibble. Not only is it not a well balanced, fresh meal, the links to numerous health problems and the fact that it is high heat processed and likely carcinogenic was enough for me to know I had to dump it. Also, according to Dogs Naturally magazine, a study of 522 dogs by Lippert and Sapy (2003) showed that dogs who were fed high-quality, freshly made, real food diets had an average life expectancy of 13.1 years versus just 10.4 years for dogs fed commercially processed pet food! That’s an extra THREE years, hopefully, with your favorite fur baby. Not to mention, once you get your pets off kibble or low-quality food, you will be blown away at how much healthier they become. Any skin issues or allergies will often clear up and their coat becomes so shiny and strong!

I know, it’s not always easy, financially, to eliminate kibble and make your food from home the way we do, but if your priority is your dog’s health, I wanted to at least have some better options for you all to choose from. For more reasons on why we dumped kibble, yes, even the better brands like Acana or Orijin, I highly suggest watching Pet Fooled on Netflix. But now, for my reviews! These are some of the top food delivery services for your pets so let’s check them out one by one!

  • Some recipes include eggs and not all dogs do well with eggs so this could be an allergy to some.

Please remember- I am NOT a doctor and this is NOT medical advice, however, I will be noting much of my information from two doctors I trust to speak on this topic. You must always find your own doctor to assist with your health and hormones, but be sure to find one with values and methods that align with yours!

Many of you know how much I avoid synthetic drugs as often as possible, so one of the most frequent questions I get here is what do you do about birth control!? While many people think things like hormone-free IUD’s may be a better option, the sad reality is, anything your doctor may suggest for you can come with a slew of side effects, yes, even non-hormonal options and thousands of women are suffering because of it. I honestly have never had more messages, from any other topic, than this one which truly has me heartbroken to learn that so many women are struggling to clean up the mess their birth control has left them with.

Often, women are also using birth control to treat more serious issues like PCOS, endometriosis, heavy periods, acne or painful cramps, without being told that it’s more so just suppressing the symptoms than it is actually treating it. To those that say birth control is “working” for them, if you stop, what happens? If the symptoms worsen or reappear then it may be a sign that your birth control is simply putting the problem on pause and not truly healing you. For any true hormone disruption, getting to the root cause is always the best bet. Look for a more holistic or wellness-based doctor or Naturopath that will suggest alternative treatment methods because they are out there, my doctor at Nourish Medical Center here in San Diego is one of them! Also, you may not be suffering from side effects while using birth control but when you quit, it is very common to see the damage done to your body and it’s natural system which is why I wanted to have a blog with some tips on some more natural methods for those interested in taking back control of their hormones and health.

Before I tell you all about what I use, I wanted to do brief statements on the other forms of Birth Control most women are on and a few side effects for you to consider. Besides all of the common side effects we all know about by now, the entire point of BC is to release synthetic hormones into your uterus to force your body to do things it is not naturally meant to do. I remember when I was younger, the concept of not having a period was so appealing but when you really think about it, that’s so unnatural and unhealthy to stop your period and today, many women are actually struggling to become pregnant or suffering from multiple miscarriages because of the possible damage these medications did to them over time. I share this info not to scare but to say hey, the symptoms you may be experiencing just might have to do with the form of birth control you are using.

What many doctors also fail to mention is that women who stay on synthetic hormones for 10+ years showed a 38% increase in the risk of developing breast cancer compared to those not using. So, the longer you are on these hormone-altering medications, the more you are at risk for more serious illness. Again, I am not a doctor and am only sharing my personal opinion to encourage you to figure out the best option for you but you can read my doctor, Dr. Jess’s blog on the same topic here!

Most Common Forms of Birth Control-
  • The Pill- 91-99% effective– Many pill users have horrible side effects while using this form of BC. I personally took it for a brief moment in college and I legit thought I was going insane. I would cry hysterically for no reason, gained a ton of weight, even though my doctor said I wouldn’t, and overall was just miserable pretty much 24/7. So miserable that one day I flung it out my car window while driving, that’s how unstable I was, I erratically littered without batting a lash, I just wanted it out of my life lol. Some other side effects besides wild mood swings and weight gain are migraines, hormone disruptions (duh), depression, painful acne, sore breasts, missed periods, spotting, blood clots, hair loss, nausea and more.
  • Morning After Pill- 95% effective– Pretty much the same as the above- Side effects include abdominal cramping, heavier bleeding, bloating, nausea, dizziness, fatigue, headaches, hormone disruption, mood swings, vomiting, and breast tenderness.
  • Condoms- 85-95% effective– Condoms made from latex can cause irritations that lead to infections for those with an allergy.
  • Copper IUD– 99% effective– Besides the above side effects, these copper ion devices also put you at risk for long-term, heavier bleeding and can slip out of the uterus leaving you at unknown risk for pregnancy. Because this device stays inside of you for long periods of time, you are also at risk for infection from bacteria accumulating and copper toxicity, especially if you have underlying issues like MTHFR. Lastly, the devices also can push through the wall of your uterus which can result in needing surgery to remove it.
  • Hormonal IUD- 99% effective- Many that have used devices like Mirena have just as many issues as the forms above as they are hormone-releasing devices. Mirena users complain of prolonged, intense cramping, prolonged bleeding, low sex drive, pain during sex, depression, spotting, hair loss, and acne. If you visit the actual Mirena website, they list the possible risks as pelvic infections, discharge, heavy bleeding, chills, fever, life-threatening infection, uterus embedding, damage to other organs and possible cysts on the ovary.
  • Nuva Ring- 91% effective– Another device designed to effortlessly release synthetic hormones into the body, sadly also comes with many of the above side effects. This device totally stops ovulation which is again, not healthy for your body to be doing. Another risk is that to be effective, you have to change the ring on time or else you are at risk for pregnancy. Some common side effects of the ring are spotting, rapid weight gain, dry skin, low energy, insomnia, brain fog, dark and depressing thoughts, hyperpigmentation, pregnancy mustache, bleeding, headaches, nausea, loss of sex drive, sore breasts, acne and more.
  • Depo Shot- 94% effective- On the Planned Parenthood website, the very first sentence is that this shot is safe and easy BUT it also comes with some side effects. Oxymoron much? Some of their side effects are listed as permanent dents where the shot was given, depression, weight gain, emotional instability, irregular bleeding, loss of period, bone density loss, nausea, sore breasts, headaches and hormone disruptions for up to 10 months once quitting. Some of my readers also mentioned how much this shot negatively impacted their life, with the injection site still being tender, months after receiving and then bleeding for 2 entire weeks for five years after stopping.
  • Nexplanon Arm Implant– 99% effective- Another hormone distributing device I have never even heard of, ugh… but to quote one of my followers, “The Nexplanon arm implant is a fucking nightmare! I had it in for 8 months and it turned me into a crazy person!!! They say it is the most effective form but I will never ever consider it again in my life.” According to the Planned Parenthood website, the side effects include headaches, breast pain, nausea, weight gain, ovarian cysts, pain, bruising or risk of infection where the implant was placed. These also can go wrong quickly, sometimes needing surgery to be removed if infected or inflamed.
  • Birth Control Patch- 91% effective- If you have not noticed yet, there really is no such thing as a “good” birth control option and the patch is yet another example that any device or pill that is consistently releasing synthetic hormones puts you at risk for some major emotional and physical changes. On the Planned Parenthood website, the side effects of the patch are sore skin where the patch is, bleeding, spotting, nausea, severe belly pain, trouble breathing, headaches, yellowing of the eyes and back pain. They also warn that those with certain health problems avoid it altogether. One reader shared her story on the patch, claiming after just one week she was crying her eyes out with huge, swollen breasts. She also had blurred vision that she believes was from this patch as well.
How to Quit The Pill-

After your body has been used to synthetic hormones for so long, you have to be very mindful of how you go about quitting and this is something I really rely on doctors for! One doctor that I personally love for all things hormone health is Dr. Jolene Brighten, as she educates all about how to get your mood, skin, and libido back to normal after quitting. Once a doctor that was prescribing patients birth control also, she realized she had not been properly trained on the true, full story of these medications so she took it upon herself to learn and research them closer. What she found blew her away. She found it very ironic that the very medication doctors were giving women for heavier periods, acne, mood swings, and hormone issues were also being totally dismissed for causing even worse mood-related changes. If the medicine can be given for these problems, it can absolutely be causing them to worsen, it only made perfect sense to her.

Dr. Brighten also reminds women that 66% of women were placed on synthetic hormones for imbalances, however, birth control will never fix that, only suppress your symptoms. Not only does she have an Instagram page with endless resources, but she also has a book called Beyond the Pill and an entire online course for restoring your hormones naturally. If you read the reviews on Amazon, women have had amazing success with her book so it is a great place to start your quest. You can also view her Birth Control Hormone Reset program here.

Heavy periods, no periods, acne, mood swings, and libido loss are all symptoms from stopping birth control but the good news is, over time, that usually improves if you put in the work according to Dr. Brighten. For those that have more serious issues like Endometriosis or PCOS, it is a sign that something deeper is going on so really planning ahead, alongside a doctor is very important to prep your body for detox. She also does share a few great tips on her website for those ready to quit that may not be able to afford her plan so I will share those here-

  1. Hormone Friendly Diet- Eating an anti-inflammatory diet is great during this time as your body is going to be going through a rough time resetting itself. She mentions that many of her patients have depleted nutrients so finding a doctor to help you figure out your nutrient and hormone levels is ideal. For those self-treating, check out the AIP diet as a great place to learn more about anti-inflammatory diets to see if it may be beneficial to you during this time. Removing refined sugar, dairy, conventional meats full of hormones and gluten alone are two very important steps to reduce inflammation. The book above also has various meal recipes to support you as well.
  2. Support- If you are able to afford it, look for a doctor in your area that specializes in more natural methods and root cause treatments. You can Google or Yelp “Naturopathic Doctors in San Diego” or whatever your city is and start to research doctors in your area that might align with your beliefs better. If you can not budget this, her book above is a really great tool to start with.
  3. Stress- During this time, it is critical to keep your stress as low as you can and to be getting plenty of sleep.
  4. Supplements- Adding in a hormone balancing supplement is very beneficial during this time.
  5. Ditching the Toxins- Removing endocrine disrupting ingredients and supplies from your everyday routine is a personal tip of mine. The more disruptive the items on us are, the more you are at risk for continued hormone issues. Things like plastic in Tupperwareerware or disposable water bottles, makeup or skincare, synthetic fragrances that can also disrupt hormones, also found in your everyday beauty or home products, candles and air fresheners etc! Toxins and pesticides are sadly surrounding us so the more you can eliminate them from your food and products during this time, the better.
Hormone Balancing Supplements-

Thankfully, my doctor Dr. Jess has a product called Hormone Master that really has helped so many women ween off their birth control. Anytime you are making such a dramatic change, you want to do it carefully and ideally, alongside a doctor you trust. Dr. Jess actually has her own line of Wild-Crafted & Organic supplements designed to correct the hormone imbalances that often come from using synthetic forms of birth control. Many of my followers have actually sent me their success stories after using this so it is something great to look into.

Hormone Master can be taken by anyone wanting to reset their natural cycle, those with estrogen dominance, irregular periods, mood swings, acne or migraines. Both men and women can take this, however, you do not want to take if pregnant OR breastfeeding. Some improvements from this supplement should be more regulated hormones which hopefully results in clearer skin, reduced cramping, increased libido, and an overall better mood.

You can try this supplement out with code ORGANICBUNNY from her site here be sure to read the reviews too! For anyone that may be suffering from hair loss, my girl Organic Olivia also just released her Mane Magic which is designed to improve hair growth and reduce shedding. The good news is both men and women are loving it, the bad news is- it’s sold out until May but you can head to her site to be notified of when it is back in! She also has various supplements that I love and use personally, one being her Immune Shroom that helps boost the body’s defenses. I also love her Mood Juice which helps with mood balancing and balancing the nervous system. My only note is, herbs are very powerful so please research the proper items and dosage to ensure they are right for you. Now, to learn more about what method I suggest to try out instead! My #1 choice for monitoring your hormones, naturally is the Daysy Fertility Device.

What is the Daysy Fertility Device?

This device is a 99.3% accurate, super smart and reliable fertility tracker that uses your body’s waking temperature to let you know when you are infertile and fertile. While this sounds complex and risky, the Daysy device has over 30 years of research and really does make it very easy to monitor your fertility all without any harmful side effects. So, wondering how it works? Here is how!

  1. Use the device every AM under your tongue to measure your temperature.
  2. Tell the device if you are or are not menstruating.
  3. Let Daysy evaluate your data to let you know if you will be fertile in the next 24 hours.

Not only is it so easy to use, but you also are not pumping your body full of synthetic hormones each day and it really is so empowering to be more in tune with your body’s natural cycle. I also love that it links right to my phone so I have easy access to all of my current and past cycles right in my hand.

My Review of The Device-

I have had this device for years now, for so long that I still have their very first model, I just have never had the time to sit down and type this all out! At first, there is a small learning curve as you have to now remember to take your temperature every single morning. I never took a birth control pill but if you do, I suppose you have to remember to do that anyway so this won’t be too different. Once I got past that, it really was so easy to use, taking just one minute per morning to use. Also, if you miss a day or two, it usually will not cause a major problem but the more you measure, the better.

Like any major change, this does take 2-4 cycles of use for it to get to know your body and cycle but you must stop all other forms of birth control before use. You will see on the device that she is very skeptical during this time. As soon as you see more green and less red and yellow, you will know that she is catching on! It is very easy to see when you are fertile as Daysy will show you a solid red light.

Coupon Code-

Want to give the Daysy device a try? If so, add it to your cart to see your $20 OFF affiliate discount here!

Condoms & Personal Lubricants-

Many also have asked me for a cleaner condom or personal lubricant options so I wanted to share a few here! I actually had Woo For Play in an Organic Bunny Box that girls love, code ORGANICBUNNY may still work, and for condoms, I have heard good things about Sustain Natural and LOLA brands. I have yet to try them myself so this one is a word of mouth referral only!

Overall, I hope this blog, at the very least, encouraged you to research all sides of your health and hormones to make the very best choices for yourself in the future!

Let’s talk about it, the elephant in the green beauty room, botox, and fillers. One of the most common questions I get here is women asking me if I have had any work done to my face and the honest answer is no, never. For me, personally, it would feel incredibly misleading and deceptive to know I had work done but, instead, passed it off as some magical skin care item or healthy diet.

The point of this post is not to judge or tell you what to do when it comes to your face, but it is to remind you that many experts in this industry are doing much more than Gua Sha and jade rolling and for me, it feels a bit contradictive. In my opinion, the only way to have botox, fillers or work done, while in an industry that focuses on eliminating toxins from your life, is to 100% own it and be honest with those that follow you and may be inspired by your “healthy” life.

Besides being honest about getting Botox, we have to also talk about the risks associated with it and ask ourselves why so many are minimizing the risks of Botox all while being so against other things like parabens or aluminum? While proponents of Botox will tell you it’s “safe”, many women in this industry have pre-existing conditions which makes it extremely reckless to not educate others on the real risks that come along with this procedure. I rarely see women discussing this topic and I think it’s important to know exactly what Botox is and to ask ourselves if we are so against toxins, medications, birth control, big pharma, and toxins in our skincare, how can we truly support this practice?

Again, I really do not want to judge those that do, but more so inspire each person to consider all sides of the story, ultimately deciding what is best for them.

What Is Botox?

Botox is a botulin-based drug that paralyzes your facial muscles temporarily to leave a more smooth and flawless complexion. On the actual Botox website, the warnings clearly state you may experience problems swallowing, speaking or breathing which can be severe and kill you. You are at an even higher risk if you have pre-existing illnesses which many in this field do have. Botox can also cause blurred vision and drooping eyelids, which I have seen firsthand in friends with Botox gone bad. Scientists are also finding that it is possibly even making it’s way into the Central Nervous System, traveling at high speeds through our nerves according to Dr. Tong Wang.

Many will argue negative side effects are not reported but like with all drugs, they certainly are, it is just not publicized properly. In 2007, Botox’s manufacturer Allergan was required to pay a Virginia man 212 million dollars from damages done from their product. The FDA also required manufacturers to place a huge warning that Botox may spread from the area of injection to cause botulinum toxin effects and that there have been reports of death from Botox. They also warn that those with underlying health conditions are at greater risk.

In 2014, another doctor sued Allergan after she contracted botulism from Botox and won 18 million. Dr. Sharla Helton, a successful Ob/Gyn, claimed she experienced profound weakness and fatigability, becoming bedridden with extreme pain and numbness. Her conditions were so bad, she had to stop working altogether as she could barely walk 100 feet without being overcome with chronic pain and fatigue. In just her attorney’s law firm alone, they have settled 15 other Botox cases.

Another case of Botox gone bad came from a woman claiming she got Botox and the next morning woke up to her eyes swollen shut with blurred vision and pain. Her doctor believed that the Botox traveled into her eye’s nerves and possibly destroyed her vision permanently. If you take any amount of time to research Botox lawsuits, you will see there is no shortage of them which is enough to make me think twice.

Besides the physical side effects, there are then the various studies that show how Botox actually can alter more than just your skin, with a growing body of peer-reviewed, clinical research studies showing how it affects the human brain, consciousness, and emotions. A 2011 study titled, “Cosmetic use of botulinum toxin-A affects processing of emotional language”, revealed that Botox-induced blocking facial expression by peripheral denervation of facial musculature selectively hinders emotional language processing.

Animal Testing-

On top of various side effects, warnings, and risks, we also fail to address the fact that Botox has killed 400,000+ animals a year due to animal testing. During these tests, animals are injected with the toxin, usually suffocating to death due to muscle paralysis, while conscious. Pretty much any drug or filler is highly likely to have been tested on animals which is something I can’t turn a blind eye to.

What I Do, Instead-

For me, this is how I keep my skin looking as healthy as possible at 35. I have never had a peel, any intensive procedure, dermaplaning or anything other than a truly healthy diet, lots of clean, filtered water, and a well balanced, consistent, clean skincare routine.

  • Eating foods rich in Vitamin C to produce collagen- cucumbers, citrus, broccoli, and bell peppers.
  • Reducing grains and sugar is important in keeping a clear and glowing complexion.
  • Eating Organic foods to ensure you are getting the needed nutrients your body and skin need.
  • Eating things like Chlorella, Kale, and Spinach to support our body’s natural detoxification process.
  • Washing my makeup off, religiously, every night and following up with a proper skincare routine.
  • Keeping your fine lines moisturized is one of the best ways to prevent premature aging.
  • Wearing an SPF anytime you are exposed to the sun, also a huge factor. I have been wearing SPF since I was about 15 thanks to my Mom always nagging at me too!
  • Exercise naturally increases your growth hormones to reduce aging.
  • Proper sleep each night and keeping stressors low also is key to healthy skin.
  • Using Non-Toxic, quality beauty products that improve the skin’s overall condition.
  • Plenty of filtered water, click here to see the filter I use!

Finally! The post you all have been waiting for… info on my brand new infrared sauna! For those that follow me closely, you will know by now that I have been on a huge detox kick lately. After a possible Candida scare and then being contaminated with Gluten, I have been hell-bent on flushing out the bad toxins all while slowly rebuilding the good and one of the most important steps in this entire process is making sure I am sweating as much as possible. So many of you expressed a deep interest in this topic so after testing out my sauna for a few months now, I am finally prepared to share my review!

Why I Wanted an At-Home Sauna-

Because our skin is a major organ of elimination, sweating consistently really helps the body eliminate and flush out the harmful toxins and according to my doctor, Dr. Jess, sweating is critical to any detox. I bet you are wondering, well, can’t you just go outside and run? The answer to that is yes, physical workouts that lead to sweat are amazing for detox, however, some people are not physically able to work up a strong enough sweat and that is where the sauna comes into play. Besides detoxing, check out all of the other health benefits of saunas!

  • Increased Metabolism & Weight Loss
  • Muscle Pain Relief
  • Boosting the Immune System
  • Detox from toxic metals, alcohol, mold, candida, nicotine etc…
  • Improves the Appearance of Cellulite
  • Eases Joint Pain and Stiffness
  • Great for Skin Health, Acne and Clogged Pores
  • Lowering Blood Pressure
What Type of Sauna Is Best?

As you know by now, there are a zillion different types of saunas on the market but like with anything, you must know that not all saunas are created equal and the type of sauna I was interested in was an Infrared, Near and Far Sauna which means they use special lamps to heat the body from the inside out instead of actually heating up the entire space. This type of sauna is best known for its ability to detoxify the body as it heats the body several inches deep to naturally boost your metabolic process which then can lead to blood circulation and oxygenated tissues.

What Brand Did You Choose?!

Because I knew I wanted a Near and Far Infrared Sauna, I set out to research the best on the market. At first, I thought I was going to go with one popular brand many influencers have reviewed, however, finding one with the lowest EMF was my top priority and sadly, not all influencers I found were researching that enough. Many saunas, especially lower-priced options, can emit dangerous electromagnetic fields so you really want to make sure you are only buying a brand with third-party EMF testing results as more and more studies are showing the negative health effects EMF’s come with.

After lots of digging, I came across a brand that seemed to have everything I was looking for and more. That is Clearlight – makers of Jacuzzi® infrared saunas, as their EMF levels were by far the lowest on the market reading at about 0mg which was 3-5 times below the threshold of concern. All of the other brands I came across were about 20 times over the concern which was alarming to think of how many people were buying those instead!

Clearlight Infrared Sauna® models are the only ONLY infrared saunas that cancel out both EMF and ELF with the lowest and safest EMF and ELF levels of any infrared sauna on the market which is why it was my #1 choice. On top of their commitment to third-party testing, they also use non-toxic materials something other brands do not use. As you can imagine, when saunas heat up, all of the glues and materials they are made from heat up and yes, then off-gas into the air.

What Model Did You Get?

Because I wanted to be able to lay down and use it with several people if needed, I went with the Sanctuary 3 sauna as it can comfortably accommodate up to three people at a time. Besides being super cozy, this one is made with medical grade Chromotherapy (color therapy), a built-in audio station and Eco-Certified Cedar sourced from Vancouver Canada. I also went with this brand because all models come with a comprehensive lifetime warranty which most others did not.

If my model is too big, they do have much smaller versions that could even fit in an apartment! If mine is too small, they also have even larger models for those that may have more people to hold or more space to fill. You can check all models out by selecting the SAUNA MODELS tab from here.

How To Install It?

Installation was super easy because they do it for you hehe. I think it took about 1 hour maybe? But it was really simple. The only thing you have to make sure of is that your outlet can handle the electricity load so once you decide your model, be sure to check the spec sheet to ensure your power is set up for it! You also want to measure the space you plan for it to go and make sure the size will fit before they arrive. We placed our sauna in the garage which has been working great for us.

So far, I have been very pleased with this company, their installation, the sauna’s performance, quality, and the entire experience.

How Long Do You Use the Sauna?

I personally have not been in it as often as I would like because we have construction going on right now which means the garage is constantly being walked in and out of. Ideally, you want to do the sauna 3-4 times per week for about 30-40 minutes per session. You can start with less and work yourself up as you’re able to endure the heat! For me, the heat feels really cozy and enjoyable for about 35 minutes and then I start to get too hot and want out. For beginners, start off slow at about 15 minutes and increase as you are able to.

After just one session, you will feel so much better though. Your skin feels clearer and after chugging back some water, you will feel so refreshed and relaxed.

What is Chromotherapy?

Chromotherapy is basically color therapy with a history that dates back to the Mayan culture. The concept is that depending on the color you choose, each color has a specific purpose to restore. The lights in the sauna are medical grade which means that they are known to be effective in reducing swelling, pain, inflammation, soothing sore muscles, boosting moods, resetting circadian rhythms, improving sleep and even reducing the appearance of fine lines and age spots! Talk about magic in my garage, I love, love, love my sauna.

My personal favorite colors to use are red as it promotes cellular growth and helps restore energy and blue as it is a mentally relaxing color ideal for anyone with sleep problems or nerves. Blue is very calming and it really feels so cozy relaxing under the blue light.

Each color has a different focus, to learn about each color and what it helps with, click here.

How Much Do These Cost?

So yes, these are expensive but, for a reason. When it comes to a sauna, you truly do not want a cheap one. Like all things in life, you get what you pay for and this is no exception. Not only can cheap saunas have dangerous EMF levels, but you also need to trust that they are being well made with research and third-party testing behind the brand. Many of you ask about saunas from Costco or Amazon but the quality is just not anywhere near this brand or something I would personally risk. I would advise you to get no sauna instead of a cheap sauna as you really do not want to expose yourself to possibly dangerous EMF levels or cheap materials that when heated become toxic. Really research any brand you are considering and make sure you know their third-party testing and EMF results.

The model I got was about $6,000 so yes, it was a major investment but, I was paying almost $60 a session at a local spa so I figured, over time, this would eventually be worth it for lifetime use. While it is a huge chunk of money, to know that I can literally use it forever, was really important.

Organic Bunny Discount Code-

Because I know that this is a huge purchase, I asked the brand if they would like to share an affiliate deal with you all and they agreed! If you mention the Organic Bunny blog, you will now get $400 to $600 off the sauna of your choice as well as an ergonomic backrest and aromatherapy holder. To request pricing with this deal, click here.

I do believe they have payment plan options, shipping is FREE in the USA
