OSMIA ORGANICS The Osmia Organics’ limited editions always sell out and are absolute perfection. I call their soaps, “little works of art” because they’re more than just soap! Osmia has just released their limited edition Summer Soap (a bright, creamy, happy mix of fresh basil, lemongrass, amyris, and spearmint) and their Lavender Mint soap. Lavender Mint Soap is made with organic spinach powder and French clay along with moisturizing organic olive oil and mango butter to leave the skin nourished. Check them out and move fast! Get them here.
MAYA CHIA’S NEWEST! The Refresh Mint Mask is SOOOO good. Okay, not only the color thee most gorgeous shade of blue, but this mask works. It’s gentle, so that will fool you, but don’t be it truly brightens the skin with the use of lactic and salicylic acids along with pumpkin and pineapple enzymes. Plus, the Chia seed extract and hyaluronic acid helps to keep you moisturized. My skin had no redness (thanks to the azelaic acid) and looked clear and felt smooth. Highly recommending! Get it here.
DETOX MARKET SUMMER BUNDLE Not sure how much longer this is going to be available, but this box is wonderful and you get it free with your $200 purchase (it has a value of $265). Lots of full sizes and they truly picked out the best for Summer with this one. Get it here.
ODACITE’S new Blue Aura Cleansing Water is so damn easy! Mad with Neem, Holy Basil, Salicylic Acid and Tumeric, this wipe off cleanser needs no water. Simply put some on a cotton round and wipe off all of your makeup and SPF (why I’m really loving this as some cleansers can’t get it all off). This cleanser is only for the face and not to be used around the eyes. It leaves skin clear, clean and feeling balanced (not tight). I’m recommending this! Get it here.Take 10% off with code: GPJ10.
Terra & Co.’s oral health products are alluring. From their beautiful bamboo toothbrush, to their Brilliant Black Toothpaste and paper-packaged, bamboo charcoal dental floss, their products are the kind of thing that you’d see photographed on the sink in the coolest hotel room bathroom. I tested their line when they were just starting out a few years ago, and I’m so amazed to see how far these LA-based sisters, Amra and Azra have come! Oh, and keep in mind that purchases from Terra & Co. support low-income and homeless women (love that). My readers are getting a generous 20% off now with code: GPJ.
BRILLIANT BLACK OIL PULLING
You know what I love? Charcoal. Anything with charcoal. You know what I also love? Healthy oral products and gorgeous packaging. Terra & Co. nails it. I used to do a lot of oil pulling, but found dealing with the coconut oil to be a mess, so I stopped. Terra & Co.’s Ayurvedic Brilliant Black Oil Pulling with activated charcoal is super easy to use, tastes of refreshing mint, beautifully packaged, vegan and it leaves your mouth feeling so fresh and clean. Never oil pulled? It’s so simple…especially with this bottle. You just pour 1-2 teaspoons in your mouth and swish it around between 5-15 mins. Then, without swallowing any of it, spit it out into the garbage. Pulling helps to whiten teeth (especially with the added charcoal) gives you fresher breath, fights bacteria that gives you bad breath, promotes saliva production and moisturizes gums (gum health is huge, my friends).
BRILLIANT BLACK TOOTHPASTE + BAMBOO BRUSH
I gave up fluoride a long, long time ago and I don’t use conventional toothpastes, anymore, either. Terra’s ink-black (so fun to use) toothpaste is powerful, vegan, minty and fluoride-free and contains activated charcoal to naturally remove stains from teeth (think berries, tobacco, coffee and wine). Charcoal also does an all-round clean sweep of the mouth by helping eliminate bacteria that can cause cavities and bad breath. Brilliant Black will convince you that what’s found in nature can be far more effective (and healthier) than conventional products. The even better news? This toothpaste is great for sensitive teeth and contains no SLS, tricolsan, peroxides or other chemicals. If you’re still using a plastic toothbrush, you might be interested in hearing that it’s one of the top items found during beach cleanups and in the ocean. Sad, eh? Terra’s brush is made from biodegradable bamboo and the bristles are BPA-free and infused with activated charcoal…so you can get cleaner and whiter!
BRILLIANT BLACK DENTAL FLOSS
No plastic! Did you hear me? There’s no plastic packaging used to house this floss! This dental floss is brilliantly encased in paper. Yep! It’s also biodegradable with added activated charcoal that attaches to plaque and helps to remove it from between teeth. I’m not sure if you’ve been doing any reading on the topic, but many of the conventional flosses out there have pretty unhealthy ingredients, surprisingly. This floss glides so nicely, leaves the teeth feeling clean, has no artificial color, fragrances and is vegan and cruelty-free.
SUSTAINABILITY IS THE NEW BLACK KIT
The Sustainability Is the New Black Kit is housed in a toiletry bag made out of 100% recycled water bottles (omg) and printed with eco-friendly ink. You get their toothpaste, floss, bamboo toothbrush and oil pulling solution. This would make an incredible gift and it’s just so well done. Absolutely gorgeous….and sustainable!

It feels like green beauty is completely on fire these days. Each week there’s some more incredible products that are being released. Here’s some of the latest that I’ve tried!
Detox Mode’s Here + There Balm – Oh my gosh! Where has this been all of my green beauty life? And the color is gorgeous! Detox Mode’s newest baby is their emerald green super balm made with shea butter, spirulina and hemp. You can use this balm for EVERYTHING including elbows, heels, cuticles (and manicure) and I recommend putting some on your feet at night to keep your pedicure – and feet – in great condition. The fresh, citrusy scent is a big bonus. I love this little guy and the fact that it doesn’t have that oily feel, either. If you’re getting one balm…go for this! Another Detox Mode winner. Take 10% off with code: GPJ10. Get it here.
Refill this at Follain stores!
Follain’s Own Label – SALE (see below)! Follain sent me a bunch of their signature line to test out and the results have been wonderful. Not only are their products affordable, but the packaging on many of them is also eco-friendly. Their Sugar & Shea Body Scrub tube is made from recycled plastic AND the scrub is a true blue wonder as it leaves the skin soft and totally moisturized (no need for a follow-up cream or body oil). I recommend trying their multi-purpose soap that can be re-filled at their stores. Also try their their body soap (so affordable) and their lip balm that has the yummiest scent. Take 15% off until 5/23/19 Shop here.
Odacité’s Blue Aura Cleansing Water – Can washing your face get any easier? Did you ever come home late at night and you’re SO not in the mood to wash your face? Well, just sprinkle some of this gorgeous, fresh-smelling cleanser on a cotton round and wipe everything off (not for eyes, though). This cleanser does not need to be rinsed off and it acts like both a toner and cleanser in one. With aloe vera, neem, holy basil, turmeric, salicylic acid and grapefruit, it leaves the skin feeling so fresh and clean. I also think it’s a great skin pick up for the midday! I love this stuff and its glass packaging, too! Take 10% off with code: GPJ10. Get it here.
It’s that time of year when I start getting a lot of emails about deodorants! And I mean A LOT. If you know me, I’m pretty obsessed with deodorants because I’m a big sweater and because there’s such cool ones out there now like Cleo + Coco. I’ve been using two deodorants from their line and also their Dusting Powder that can also be used as a Dry Shampoo (brilliant). Take 10% off with code: GPJ.
THE UNISEX CHARCOAL DEODORANT
I’m a sucker for all things charcoal…especially deodorants and don’t worry, this gray-hued natural deodorant won’t stain your clothing gray (a common question with charcoal). With the fresh, bright scent of basil and mint (coolest combo and it smells heavenly) this deodorant will appeal to both men and women, making it totally unisex, so if you’ve been trying to get the men in your life to quit the toxic conventional deodorants, I would go for this as the scent and performance will be a great fit. Although this Cleo + Coco’s Basil Mint does contain baking soda, I had zero irritation while using it, but you may choose to go with their sensitive one which is baking soda-free. This deodorant isn’t an anti-perspirant, but rather a deo that will rid you of odor-causing bacteria and toxins due to star ingredients, activated charcoal and bentonite clay (high in magnesium). As much as we might fight it, perspiring is not only natural, but a key function of the body and inhibiting it can be harmful to your health, so sweat it out, but do it without stinking!
THE DUSTING POWDER + DRY SHAMPOO
I love a body powder. Why? Because if you get waxings or have a baby, you need, need, need a pure powder. Baby powder contains talc, which, as we know, is a very dangerous ingredient. Doesn’t it make more sense to use a powder with activated charcoal, essential oils, bentonite clay and vegetable powders? Cleo + Coco’s Dusting Powder is so light and silky that it can even be used as a dry shampoo (I love multi-use). On really hot days, I like to use a powder over my deodorant and on my back and chest. This little container is also so easy to carry with you, so bring it to your wax appointments (I’ve been doing this for years). Cleo + Coco has two delicious scents: Grapefruit Bergamot (I have this one and it’s citrusy and energizing) and Lavender Vanilla. These lightly-scented clean powders not only keep you dry, but the subtle, pretty scents also act as a body deodorizer. If you’re not really a person who sweats, my guess is that you could most likely get away with these in place of a traditional deodorant…lucky you.
THE SENSITIVE DEODORANT – BLUE TANSY
Oh, the smell of this! Can this please be made into a natural fragrance? It smells so good! So smooth, the Cleo + Coco’s Sensitive Deodorant is completely baking soda-free, yet still contains two of nature’s best odor- fighting ingredients: coconut derived Activated Charcoal and Bentonite Clay. Blue Tansy essential oil helps to calm and soothe the underarm area and it does…applying this feels more like a underarm treatment rather than just a deodorant. If you have a baking soda allergy, I highly recommend you get this as it feels – and smells- wonderful. The ingredients are so pure and simple, too. Nothing beats being able to read – and understand – your ingredient list:
It’s sunblock season and hopefully we all know that conventional SPF’s are not only toxic for us, but also toxic for our beautiful coral reefs. That said, it’s important to make sure that you and the fam are suited up in a pure, organic sunblock that causes no stress on the environment..or on your health. I’ve been testing out super-nourishing OrganiBlock SPF 30 and I know you’ll love it…plus, it’s child and baby-friendly! Use code: TOXINFREE for 20% off for a limited time.
This is some serious SPF with many benefits. I love that OrganiBlock sun protection not only protects you from the sun with an SPF of 30, but it also helps to nourish skin with super moisturizing organic ingredients, stimulate collagen and elastin, deliver vitamins and antioxidants, help to reduce signs of aging skin and leave the skin looking hydrated without a greasy look or feel to it. I also love that this SPF is reef safe so there’s no harm done to the environment. I recommend rubbing this sunblock into the skin really well so as to reap all of the healthy skin benefits and and also so you leave no white cast. It’s recommended that you re-apply after 40 minutes of swimming and after towel-drying.
SCENT + FEEL
The first thing you’ll notice about OrganiBlock SPF 30 is the fresh, bright scent. I smell the uplifting scent of Lemongrass, Sweet Orange Oil and Vanilla…yum! OrganiBlock has a citrus scent to it…not that typical coconut beach scent that everyone puts into their SPFs. This SPF has a matte texture and won’t leave the skin looking greasy. OrganiBlock feels really moisturizing, which is a great look for exposed skin as we know. I recommend rubbing this sunblock into the skin really well so there’s no white cast and it’s recommended that you apply after 40 minutes of swimming and after towel-drying.
First off, many conventional sunblocks contain water and lots of inexpensive filler ingredients, harmful chemicals and fragrances. OrganiBlock does not contain any water, so it’s highly concentrated and contains only high-quality organic oils and waxes, natural raw beeswax, and pharmaceutical food grade pure zinc oxide. Using a sunblock with organic, pure ingredients is super important (especially since we’re going to be sitting in the sun, taking it all in). I was really impressed with their ingredients as there’s so many of the heavy hitters in green beauty: coconut oil, Rose hip, wild carrot seed oil, jojoba, pomegranate, avocado, purified beeswax and cranberry seed oil. The thing that I love the most is that these ingredients are what you’re most likely to find in a luxe serum or balm, not an SPF, so you’re getting a skin treatment while you’re protecting your skin.
This is a sponsored post. All of the opinions expressed here are my own! I hope you love it when you try it!
It’s hard to keep up with all of the fantastic green beauty that is coming out daily, but here’s some of what I think you should know about this season!
WYLD BEAUTY is a Canadian company that’s not only super affordable, but also vegan. They have face and body konjac sponges infused with French Pink Clay, Charcoal and a magnesium Bali Bath Soak with coconut milk and lemongrass that smells wonderful and helps you up your intake of magnesium. I take magnesium daily, spray it on my feet before bed, have it in my deodorant and and now, my bath. Lots of benefits of magnesium including improved mood and better sleep. 10% OFF site wide at The Choosy Chick with code: GPJ. Shop here.
FOLLAIN has starting creating their own products…and they look like great ones, too. They’ve added lots of minerals and even amethyst crystal plus aloe vera so your hair is still touchable won’t dry out like many other salt sprays tend to do. Shop here.
CORA GOLD I don’t usually go crazy for potted glosses, but I must say that Kari Gran’s Lip Whips are pretty gorgeous. Her latest color, a burnt sienna that has a subtle gold shimmer is beautiful for Spring/Summer and is a really nice change from basic pinks/nudes. Wear it over lipstick or alone and it’s minty! 10% OFF with code: GPJ. Shop here.
KJAER WEIS new lip glosses. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: KW makes thee best glosses. This is a refillable lip gloss (I just buy the refills as the whole packaging is just too heavy for my bag). Her new colors are pinks and I can’t wait to wear them for Spring/Summer: Admire and Intimate. If you haven’t tried her glosses, you must! Shop here.

From the moment you open up a jar or bottle of anything from Leaf People, you’ll notice the fresh, herbal scent. And as soon as you start using medical herbalist Julie Levin’s skincare, you’ll be able to feel that they’re made with fresh botanicals. Below are a few products that I’ve been using from her line (many I’ve already used up!) Oh, and keep in mind that Julie has created a special skincare for men too, in her Leaf Men collection. Use code: GPJ20 for 20% off, single use, good through summer solstice, June 21, 2019.
A FAVE! Allow me to just say that it takes A LOT for a beauty blogger to fully use up a product and this one is GONE. I’m a huge fan of this vegan serum that’s super hydrating and has the consistency of water (I couldn’t stop applying). Refreshing and filled with Swiss apple stem cells, hyaluronic acid and cucumber hydrosol, Julie created this product to work hard on the tough stuff: wrinkles, age spots, dull and dehydrated skin and scars. What’s so wonderful about this is that it’s so gentle that it can be worn day or night and there’s no feeling of a peel or harsh exfoliation. It has a bright herbal scent from the mix of neroli, sandalwood and bergamot. I’m in love. Get it here.
NETTLE CUCUMBER SOOTHING TONER
Again, another refreshing, herbal-scented winner from Leaf People. The Nettle Cucumber Soothing Toner is one to be applied with a cotton ball (or reusable round) and is good for both men and women. In fact, so many of the Leaf People products I’ve tried have a scent that would be pleasing to both. Toner isn’t quite the right term for this product as it’s more of a potion. Yep, I said it. Every single ingredient has been carefully chosen to soothe, calm, enhance luminosity (a recurring theme over at Leaf People) and nourish the skin. It’s wonderful for any redness (including post-facial treatments like laser) and for age spots, wrinkles and dryness. Key ingredients are hyaluronic acid (love), mineral rich nettles, green tea, stellaria and apple cider vinegar to help reduce redness and balance skin’s pH. I’m a big fan of toners and this one really does so much more than just hydrate.
MYRTLE & ROSE NOURISHING FACE CREAM
You know those creams where you just keep layering it on because it’s so light and feels so cool and refreshing on the skin? Leaf People’s vegan Myrtle Burdock Rose Face Cream is just that. Super moisturizing (and softening), this cream is perfect before makeup because the skin just eats it up and it is absorbed so quickly. It’s also fantastic for sensitive skins and calming down any redness (thanks to aloe vera, rose and Burdock root). Having an herbalist make your skincare seems to make a lot of sense once you realize how much each ingredient can do to improve the quality of your skin, right? Oh, and in addition, this cream does double duty by working on those age spots and wrinkles with the help of white myrtle, camu camu and deep sea kelp. Myrtle and Rose cream has a light, fresh scent and is gluten-free.
POMEGRANATE GINKGO TRANSFORM SERUM
I would definitely use the word lush to describe this serum. I would highly recommend this for dry/mature skin as it provides a ton of moisture for the skin, so if you’re dealing with lots of dryness, this is your serum. The Transform Serum includes a specially-designed blend of 13 medicinal plants and 8 essential oils to brighten up skin, fade any age spots and work on softening wrinkles. There’s so many green beauty heavy hitters in this bottle including: ashwagandha, red clover, helichrysum, frankincense, gotu kola, rosehip, red raspberry, pumpkin and pomegranate seed oils. So, if you haven’t been exactly kind to your skin (too much sun, not enough care, in general) you will benefit greatly from this little powerhouse serum. It will give your skin the super-charged nourishment it desperately needs as well as work on repairing any skin damage that you may have incurred. You only need a few drops, too.
This is a sponsored post. All opinions are my own. I hope you’ll try out Leaf People…they’re really making high-quality, pure skincare and also give back to charities!
I’ve been really excited to try out Ere Perez. Everything looks so pretty and wearable and the packaging is perfection. Here’s some of their products that I’m now using!
Carrot Colour Pot This vegan blush is now a staple in my makeup bag. Truly. I have the color Healthy and it’s a gorgeous peach/apricot. These blushes have a strong pigment to them, so they are quite buildable. There’s no dewy look to these, either. So, if you just want your color and no shine, go for these. Shop here. These are the colors:
Arnica Cream Concealer Why use Arnica in a concealer? Glad you asked. Arnica is naturally anti-inflammatory and antiseptic, so it can soothe, heal and calm any areas that you’re concealing. You know how you put concealer on a blemish and just know that it’s either going to make it worse or do nothing but cover it up? Well, this helps give relief to the area…brilliant idea. You can use this all over and because it’s full coverage, everything will disappear! Available in six shades from light/porcelain to deep skin. Shop here.
Oat Milk Foundation Why oat milk? Well, oat milk is said to balance pH levels, so there you have it! The name alone makes this really, really appealing to me, but the performance really kicks it into high gear. I would say this vegan foundation is medium coverage (but you could definitely get full coverage out of it if that’s what you’re going for). It’s not too dewy and not drying, which is why it’s getting a lot of attention. The consistency is a cream and I love the tube because you’re able to determine how much product you get. I have dry skin and I don’t feel as though it cakes even slightly on my skin. I’m hoping that they come out with more colors as their range is a bit limited at only six shades. Shop here.
Rice Powder Blush + Bronzer Get on the waiting list for this baby (here). I’m usually awful when it comes to bronzers, but Terri from Integrity says she loved it so I gave it a try. Unlike other bronzers that are too orange or too dark, this bronzer is totally buildable and comes with both a blush and a bronzer. You can use them together (I do) or you can use them separately. It’s light, feels really smooth on the skin and looks great on top of foundation or without. Imparts a very natural, healthy glow. Vegan. Shop here.
Pure skincare made with botanicals and seaweeds that are handpicked and solar dried from a little town in Maine? Sign me up! Add in the fact that this Mom and daughter duo puts the environment first when choosing their packaging and I’m absolutely sold. Dulse & Rugosa is the very definition of pure, natural and unique green beauty with their seaweed, mushroom and rose-based skincare. My readers get 15% off with code: green.
HYDRATING BODY OIL
This is so softening! When a lush and I mean lush body oil has chamomile, Irish Moss and rose petals floating in it, you’re kind of hooked before you even apply it to your skin. Dulse & Rugosa’s Hydrating Body Oil has so many green beauty heavy hitter ingredients such as broccoli seed oil, avocado oil and Grapeseed oil and such a unique scent (fresh, kind of floral and calming) that you will love, love, love it. I would definitely define this body oil as rich, but not one that takes forever to absorb. It’s best applied to damp skin and if you give your skin a few minutes to drink it up, you’ll have baby-soft, dewy skin. Truly. This oil is great for all seasons as it nourishes dry skin, but doesn’t feel heavy. This oil will give your shoulders and legs that Jen Aniston look. And, at $15 it’s so affordable. Get 15% off with code: green.
I love a handcrafted, palm-free soap! As you’ll see, all of the soaps from D & R look and sound so good and are packaged in recycled tissue paper which means zero plastic. Right now I’m using their Rose Petal Soap bar which is defined as “beautiful and silky” and it’s spot-on. If you’ve never used a handcrafted bar of soap, please try Dulse & Rugosa’s as they are not only super affordable ($10 a bar) but their ingredients are so nourishing. In fact, the Rose Petal Soap contains “over a ounce of coconut oil as well as rose hip oil, rose hip infused castor and olive oil and calendula infused sweet almond oil. Swirled throughout the bar is pink Himalayan salt, Rugosa Rose petals, and French pink clay.” The round shape also makes it so easy to use in the shower, too (especially for shaving, travel).
I also have their Weed and Shrooms Soap (the name alone sounds so intriguing, right?) With both seaweed and medicinal mushrooms harvested in coastal Maine, this soap has so many cool ingredients in it, it’s hard not to want to list them. Pieces of dulse seaweed and five different mushrooms are added in to give the bar some exfoliation power. Have you ever exfoliated with mushrooms? Me, neither…this soap is so different from anything I’ve ever tried before. I recommend reading what D & R has to say about their medicinal mushrooms, as it’s super interesting.
Now, if you’re wanting to make the switch from conventional shampoos (and have some patience because there is a bit of a transition time for most people when switching to bars) you can try out their handcrafted, pure shampoo bars which smell wonderful!
ROSE PETAL CREAM
The D & R Rose Petal Cream is mousse-like, light and feels so refreshing. I mean, really refreshing. It looks as if it would be heavy on the skin, but it’s not (yes, this can be your Spring/Summer face cream, for sure). I’m not sure if it’s the witch hazel (which is infused with hand picked rose petals from their island), but something gives it that cool feel when you put it on your skin and it’s lovely. It also leaves the skin feeling uber soft and hydrated without any oily after-feel. If you’re a cream woman, I highly recommend going for this. Again, it’s so affordable at $25 for a handcrafted, pure face moisturizer.
THE SEAWEEDS FOR FACE
Eco packaging, too!
I’ve tried two of the Dulse & Rugosa Seaweed Treatments: their Seaweed to the Rescue which is a mask for your face and skin. This mask is a real healer and calms acne, any itchy skin and new tattoos, too. I’m a big fan of seaweed for the face (it’s always worked so well for me) and this is the purest of the pure in terms of seaweed right here. I feel compelled to mention the ingredients as they are just too good: Ingredients: Irish Moss, Kelp, Laver Seaweed, Calendula and Chamomile Petals. If you’re looking to exfoliate, give their Seaweed and Roses Scrub a shot. It left my skin feeling so soft, clear and bright and the ingredients are just so clean: super fine sea salt and Irish Moss powder, Nori and Rugosa Rose petals along with Rosehip and Cranberry Seed oils.
This is a sponsored post. All opinions are my own, gosh darn it! Loving these guys!
