When it comes to business, success and life goals, often we are our own worst enemies. As much as we would like to blame the conditions, people and random external factors outside of us, it’s more often than not our own limiting beliefs that are holding us back and keeping us from our goals and dreams.

Be it starting a business, traveling the world, making more money or attracting exciting opportunities or experiences into your life, the fastest route to an exciting new future is identifying where hold yourself back and let that shit go once and for all.

Here are some obvious warning signs to keep an eye out for.

  1. Telling yourself ‘I’m not ready’ or ‘the timing is off’.  As a business coach, I find these two phrases the most frustrating of all. Sure timing can sometimes have something to do with it but more often than not, it’s about getting in the game, preparing yourself and being ready for whatever comes your way. If you’re on the sideline, how can you expect to be thrown the ball? Pull up your socks, put on your uniform and JUST START. The lessons you’ll learn from being in the game are priceless.
  2. You hesitate. Early on in my business game, a coach said to me “hesitation = pain.”  I’ve never forgotten it and it’s often the way I motivate myself to take massive action on my goals. Think about it this way, if you’re driving a car or walking on the street and you come to a busy intersection that you need to navigate your way across. You’ll likely stop and suss your best options and assess the right time to make your move. But if and when you decide to give it a crack and you get halfway across the intersection and doubt your decision, you hesitate. Now you’re in the danger zone, you’re hesitation has caused you to stop dead in the middle and instead of committing to your decision and moving forward with an outcome, you’re at high risk of being hit by oncoming traffic that isn’t going to slow down for you. You panic and feel fear.  If right now you’re feeling discomfort in your life about a certain decision, it’s likely because you are hesitating about making a choice, you’re in the middle of the intersection scared of being hit. Stop putting yourself in a state of stress right now by committing to a choice and watch the relief that comes over you.
  3. You procrastinate. We all know when we’re doing this and most of us are masters at it.  Procrastination sounds like ‘I’ll do it tomorrow’, ‘I don’t have time’, ‘I’m waiting for XYZ,’ complaining, excuses and a low, sheepish tone of voice.  It looks like a stale to-do list that you keep rewriting but never crossing anything off, a journal full of goals that you’ve never seen come to life and a deflated human with low confidence and little to none self-worth. If any of this sounds familiar, the best place to start is with one thing. What’s the low hanging fruit you can access with ease or something you can do right now to move you forward?
  4. You haven’t been scared in a while. When was the last time you felt nervous? Put yourself out there in a way that it would hurt if it didn’t work out? That you felt scared or uncomfortable? If the answer wasn’t ‘this week’ than my guess is you’re playing small and not reaching your full potential. Write down three things that would scare or challenge you a little (in a good way) and make a plan to go and do them. When you spend time outside of your comfort zone you grow. Growing is good for you.
  5. Nothing new has happened to/for you in a while. Have you noticed that life has been a little stale and a lot of the ‘same old’ for a while now? Yep, it’s a good sign you are running a program that is getting you more of the same. Nothing changes if nothing changes. If you want a new reality for your life, you’re going to have to change it up a little.  Consider taking a class, getting a coach, walking a different way to the coffee shop, putting your phone down and looking up. If you can jolt yourself out of the familiar patterns of your known reality, you create space and opportunity for something/someone new to flow in.
Ready to break free from the old patterning that’s keeping you small and finally make moves on designing your dream life? Join our 6-week Mindset of an Entrepreneur Coaching Academy. Details here *Limited Spaces.

Have you ever had one of those moments in life when you think to yourself ‘what am I doing wrong?’ You’ve been putting in the work, reading the books, listening to all the podcasts, going to the events and still you can’t seem to break through to that next level of life goals that you desire for yourself.

Be it going out on your own and starting a business, booking that 3-month holiday, taking an existing business to the next or changing an everyday habit – figuring out the missing piece between where you are now and where you want to be is one of the most frustrating life experiences a human can endure. So painful that it can often result in us giving up on our dreams altogether and dumping them in the ‘too hard’ or ‘one day basket’, which ultimately leads to a deflated self-esteem and a strong case of self-doubt.

You see, everything in life is in motion and as humans on this moving, evolving planet it is only natural for us to grow and evolve beyond who we are in this moment. Refusing to do so results in stagnation which ultimate equals inaction and inaction = pain.

Without a set of goals, dreams, and desires for a future, humans often find themselves feeling bored, stuck, not good enough, resentment, envy, and unhappy.

In contrast, when we are dreaming, creating and moving in the direction of our goals, we feel brave, confident, successful, abundant, clear, generous and happy.

The trouble is, so many of us experience rejection, loss, missed opportunities or just straight up FOMO which leave us doubting our abilities to take massive towards what we truly want for our lives. This often results is underselling ourselves, an avoidance of risktaking, keeping ourselves small and believing that it’s somebody’s else’s fault.

What I’ve come to realise is that no matter how smart you are, how good your idea is or how hard you’re willing to work, that without a solid mindset you aren’t likely to achieve your wildest dreams.

Time and time again as a business coach I encounter people who are wildly talented yet can’t bring themselves to jump in and fully back themselves.

I’ve since witnessed and experienced in my own life that the true secret to success is a strong mindset!

‘Fear makes you feel like contracting, holding back and giving up because at a deep level you do not wish to experience the discomfort or pain of growth’
-Margot Anand

I honestly believe that the majority of what you are experiencing in your life right now is a result of what you have allowed. And that the only thing standing in the way of you and your wildest dreams is the belief that you can actually have it.

So many of us go through life, clinging to the limiting beliefs of our circumstances – ‘ I can’t afford it’ or ‘I don’t have time’. What we fail to see is that we are the ones holding ourselves back from what we really want because we are addicted to telling the stories of our past that keep us small.

The first step to creating something new in your life, be it a business, holiday, relationship, health, lifestyle or wealth is observing what programs you are listening to in your mind and making a conscious choice to tune into a new one that aligns with the life you want to be living.

Most of us won’t make time to do this is life because it means admitting that we want something different for our lives and in order to get different we have to go through change and change is scary and often painful AF.

Here’s the thing, if you settle for less than what you know you want in your life, you’re going to end up sick, tired, frustrated, bitter, resentful, scared and uninspired with life and the people around you.

But what if right now, today, at this moment you took a step to shift your mindset, reset your goals and start moving in the direction of your wildest dreams? Trust me, you’ll be astonished as to what you begin to experience in your life.

If you have a dream, desire or vision for a future goal that you haven’t been able to take action on, join me for a 2-hour workshop to reprogram your mind for actual success, dream your wildest dreams and build yourself an achievable action plan that will allow you to start working towards your goals TODAY!

Ever found yourself watching other peoples lives on Instagram and wishing you could have it? How about those late nights getting lost down that Pinterest rabbit hole dreaming of sailing the Amalfi Coastline for three months of the year but deep down you know it will never happen to you?

Yep, I’ve been there before. When I first started StartUp Creative almost five years ago now, I remember sitting on my old tatted couch in a tiny two bedroom unit, struggling to find $3.80 for a daily coffee, my one luxury.

Despite having no idea how, I somehow knew that if I could see and feel the life that I wanted, then something in me knew I could create. I soon decided that entrepreneurship would be the vehicle to help me achieve this life and I began absorbing all the books, podcast, courses, mentor advice, training and lessons I that I could to learn how.

What I’ve come to realise over the years, is that you really can have the life of your dreams. From someone who sat back and dreamt of a life that no-one in her family or inner circle was living and somehow created it from nothing, I really do believe to my deepest core that no matter where you are now, you truly are capable of designing and living the life of your dreams.

Here are my 10 tips on how to do it:

  1. You are the only one responsible.  The moment you realise that you are the only thing standing in the way of your wildest dreams, the quicker you will see them come to life. Each of us has the same amount of time every day to achieve our goals. The people who get what they want are the ones using their time to the best of their ability. No one else is going to do it for you, be proactive and decide here and now that you are going to design the life of your dreams.
  2. Get clear on what you want. How will you know you’re living your best life if you don’t know what it would look like? Take 10 mins out of your day today to sit down and get really clear on what you want for your life. Be careful not to fall into the default of what your parents wanted for you or what your partner wants or even what your friends or Instagram feed has. Breathe into your body, connect to your heart and ask yourself ‘what do I desire?’
  3. Stop being a victim.  The ‘poor me, my life is shit, that person is lucky, I wish I could have that life’ mentality isn’t going to get you anywhere fast. If you spend your life floating downstream as a victim and just allowing life to ‘happen to you’ then you’re likely to be served a shitty life that doesn’t inspire you. Decide to be the co-creator of your life and see what happens.
  4. Upskill yourself. Dream lives don’t just fall in your lap. Everyone I’ve met along the way has worked hard for their success and happiness. Be it an inspiring relationship, a thriving business or abundant cash flow to travel the world, it all takes skills. If it’s not working for you right now, find out what skills it takes to have what you want then go out and get them.
  5. Surround yourself with people living your ideal life. Being around people who are living an element of the life that you want is one the fastest ways to get it for yourself. Not only do they hold the vibration of ‘this is possible, I’m living proof’ but by observing their behaviors, tone of voice, choices, and mentality you can quickly start to emulate their life and create it for yourself. Just like hanging out with negative people often puts you in a negative mood, hanging out with inspiring and successful people will elevate your potential in life.
  6. Take massive action, even when you don’t feel like it. If we always listened to what our bodies wanted we’d never get anywhere in life. Emotions and feelings are valid at times but shouldn’t rule our every move in life. The trick is to know when to overwrite the program of pain or discomfort and replace it with motivation and action. The truth is, nothing changes if nothing changes. You can’t get fit and health if you’re not prepared to do the workout. Be the boss of your body and remind yourself daily what you’re working towards – creating the life of your dreams.
  7. Get outside perspective and feedback. Sometimes you just can’t see what needs to be done and fair enough, if you’ve never done it before, figuring out the next steps then finding the motivation to do it can all be too much and can trigger major overwhelm and eventually inaction. If you’re struggling to carry the load or you’ve progressed to a certain milestone and you just can’t seem to find the next step, ask for help. Find a mentor, coach or someone outside of you who can give you honest, practical and supportive feedback and direction to help you stay on track. Asking for help can be hard and humbling, but without it, you risk derailing your progress and sabotaging your success.
  8. Master your mind. The most important step. If you allow limiting beliefs to run wild in your mind then you’re likely to believe them. Spend some time taking inventory of the messages your mind is feeding you on a daily basis and ensure it is in alignment with your goals. If not, use affirmations, autobiographies, podcasts, mediation and/or silence to keep your mind strong, positive and clear.
  9. Feel it in your body first. If you can start to feel it in your body, then you are more likely to experience it in real life. I personally use meditation, visualisation and positive future focused language to help me believe that I can and will have the life of my dreams. As humans, we have the ability to use our imagination to transport ourselves to our wildest dreams and physically change the chemistry in our body to believe it’s already happened. For example, right now you can close your eyes and imagine yourself on a rollercoaster or surfing a dreamy wave or making love. When you imagine these things, your body is flooded with the chemicals of what it would feel like to be in that moment. Once our body knows the feeling, it is more likely to believe it is possible and will start to attract more of those experiences in your waking life.
  10. Believe you can have it.  Somewhere along the line, we were disconnected from our dreams. We were fed the lie that we can only have what is given to us or what our parents had or what people in our culture or background have had. We have been deprived of the knowledge that there are infinite possibilities of what we can create, experience or have for our lives. There are plenty of examples of people who have broken free of the limiting beliefs they were sold and created the life of their dreams, from Oprah Winfrey to Michael Jordan. If you haven’t heard it before, let me be the first to tell you that you live in an abundant world, surrounded by infinite possibilities. You can and will have the life of your dreams if you start believing you can. Now go out and get it.

Got an idea for a business or been toiling with a little side hustle concept? Here’s how you’ll know you’re ready to make some serious moves in the direction of your dream.

  1. You’re feeling all the feels – mostly pain, frustration, and stuckness. Yep! I’ve been here before and 90% of my coaching clients start their business from this place. That moment when you realise you aren’t really that happy. Spending your days turning up to a job that no longer inspires you and surrounding yourself with people who are just ‘getting by’ and too scared to question what else is out there, is where it all begins. You are no longer ok settling for a job that pays the bills and ticks all the boxes, the pain of working for someone else dream makes you question ‘what’s this all for?’
  2. You can’t stop thinking about your side hustle.  This is where it starts to get dangerous. Your mind starts to daydream what it would be like to spend your days working for yourself. Your Instagram feed is filled with people at exciting events, out for coffee or traveling the world and instead of hating on them you start to think, how can I get this lifestyle? Your mind wanders from what you’re meant to be doing at your job and all you can do is fantasize about the life of your dreams, doing more of what you love making the big bucks for your own bank account and not someone else’s.
  3. You told someone about it. Now you’re really f*%ked! Once it comes out in words it means you’re one step closer to taking that leap. You no longer think of it as a dream and are starting to piece together how you can make this baby of yours a reality. You’ve voiced it! Said it out loud, risked someone laughing at you or telling you it can’t be done, you must be serious. The problem is, now the cat is out of the bag, there’s someone in the real world (not just your head) who is going to keep you accountable to making your dream a reality. You’re in big trouble now, you’re very close to the point of no return.
  4. You find yourself wanting to work on it at the weirdest of hours. You no longer desire to be out on a weekend because your time is too precious to be spent hungover and you’d rather invest your dollars in website templates then negroni’s. You’ve changed! All of a sudden you have more time up your sleeve to hustle on your side project and you don’t remember the last time you worked this hard and with such clarity. You can’t be stopped and you’re making real progress. Things are snowballing now, it looks like you could have a real business on your hands. People are starting to take notice and you find yourself telling more and more people with more and more confidence in what you’re creating. If you’re not careful you’re going to start making real dollars real soon.
  5. You can’t imagine going back. You’re officially ruined. You’ve built your idea to a point that there is no turning back. If someone said to you today, that you could never work another day on your side hustle and had to stay in your ‘day job’ you would feel excruciating pain. You’re in. You’re 110% committed and nothing is going to stop you from taking that leap from 9-5 to entrepreneur life. You’re ready. It can’t not happen. You’re determined, clear, focused and unstoppable. You will do whatever it takes to make this baby profitable and you’ve started mapping out an exit strategy to move you from one reality to the other. Fear is present but no longer crippling. You can see a way through and nothing and no-one will stop you from making your dream a reality.

What do you do now?

Act now. If you’re reading this and your heart is racing and you’re like, yep this is me! You have to act now! Do something about it. Maybe even join our 2019 Coaching Academy to get a crash course on all things business.

Surround yourself with people who get it. A coach, mentor, colleagues, peers a community. You’re going to need all the help you can get to stay on this path of entrepreneurship

Keep putting one foot in front of the other. Go slow if you need to but don’t stop. When you stop, that’s when the fear catches up and takes over. Keep moving.

Seek advice. You don’t have to go it alone. There are going to be plenty of challenges along the way and most of the time it will be completely on your back to find solutions, so where possible get advice, support and feedback from professionals, experts or idols who have gone before you.

Have you ever stopped to think that perhaps those moments when your chest is tightening at the thought of facing someone in your workplace or the anxiety that rushes through your body when your alarm goes off on a Monday morning or those Sunday night blues could be signs from your body trying to wake you from a trace of a mundane routine that no longer serves you?

Somewhere along the line, someone or perhaps many people, including the media, sold us a lie. They told us that if we go out, work hard and do what needs to be done then we will earn an honest living and be able to follow the status quo of buying external possessions to fit in with the other people our surrounding environment.

What they failed to mention was that we are creative beings. We have these things inside of us called desire, longings, passions, and purposes that are dying to be expressed in and through us.

There is a place in every human being that lights up when they talk about what they love. Be it their partner, kids, a holiday, a hobby or cause that they passionately believe in. We all have in us an inspiring, attractive, deeply connected purpose that no matter how hard we try to ignore at times in our life, keeps bubbling to the surface.

What if, in this lifetime your reason for being on planet earth had nothing to do with how much you earn or what house you buy or even what clothes you wear. What if your mission was to find what you love and follow it with all of your heart?

We are lucky to be living in a day and age where this acceptable. Yes, maybe it still feels a little bit counterculture or out of reach but it is being done and great things are happening.

My desire with StartUp Creative is to help you do just this. To turn your passion into a viable business model.

I am aware there are many limitations, past conditioning, peer and societal pressures to do otherwise, but you must know that it truly is possible.

You are capable of turning your passion into your career. It may not be overnight, in-fact likely to not be. But if you want it bad enough, that little idea in the back of your head that you will ‘one day’ do something with, can come to its fullest potential if you dare to take the risk.

So here is my question for you.

How long are you prepared to sit in the discomfort of knowing that you are not living your fullest potential in this lifetime?

What would it take for you to finally back yourself?

Are you prepared to take massive action in the direction of your dreams so you can come to the end of your life and say, I gave it all I had!

If you’re sitting there procrastinating, hesitating and feeling all the tight feels in your body from ‘inaction’ now is the time to do something!

Just start.

You don’t know what is on the other side but you do know that taking one step into the unknown, can no longer be as painful as sitting still and doing nothing.

Got an idea for a business that you’ve been thinking about for a while now? Here are my three top tips for anyone looking to start their own business.

  1. Do something you love. As a business coach the first question I ask my clients is, what do you want? The reason I started my own business was to escape the rat race of working for someone else’s dream. I knew there had to be a better way to live than hustling 8-6, five days a week to only enjoy my life on the weekends. When trying to figure out what business to start, I would spend my morning train commutes brainstorming what I loved doing and what I wish I could get paid to do all day, every day.

You see, most people have a limiting belief that life and career have to be separate. The more I researched entrepreneurship, mastering my mind and setting clear and focused intentions, I became convinced that I was deserving and capable of a building myself a career that didn’t take away from life but was something that I loved to do and that complimented my lifestyle.  Once I knew this for sure, I set out to use my business to design the life of dreams and promised myself that I would run a business that gave me the freedom to work the hours I desired, travel the world and spend quality time with the people I love. It’s safe to say that four years on, that’s exactly what I’ve done. It really is possible and something you can set out to achieve in your own life.

When starting a business, be sure not to copy someone else’s dream, tap into your heart, passions, and purpose and design a business that will empower you to spend your days doing what you love.

Not sure how to find your passion, consider these questions:

  • What makes you happy?
  • What are you good at?
  • What do people often advice for your help with?
  • If you could get paid to do something all day, every day, what would you do?
  • When do you feel most alive?
  • What would totally blow your mind if you could get paid to do it?
  • What did you always want to be when you were a kid?
  1.  Tell someone you’re starting, write it out and set a date. Once you voice your desire or intention to start a business or achieve a goal it all of a sudden feels real/terrifying! But now it’s out, you have to do something about it. The next step is to be kept accountable and become aware of all the excuses that will come flooding in disguised as ‘legitimate reasons’ as to why you can’t start a business. No matter what my clients say to me as to why ‘now isn’t the right time,’ I always call it for exactly what it is, an excuse.

If you want it bad enough you will start right now, with what you have and make it work.  A few years ago my little brother came to me and said he wanted to get his contractors to license work for himself as an electrician. I asked him, what steps needed to be taken in order for that to happen? He went through the long list and I asked him when he wanted this to happen by? He gave me a date and I told him to write it on a piece of paper and look at it every day. Months went past and one day he called me and said ‘Kay, you told me to write a date down it was today and I just wanted to let you know that my license just arrived in the mail.’ I 100% believe that if you set yourself a goal and you hold firm to that with complete conviction you will see your wildest dreams come to life.

  1. Keep lists and do the work. The reality of starting a business is that it really is a lot of work. You will need to be motivated and driven beyond belief. What you will find is that if you’re working for your own success, you will find the time, energy and resources to get shit done. The best way to stay on top of all the tasks that are going to come flooding in is to keep a list. Everytime you think of something that needs to be done for the business get it out of your head and write it down. The task will be endless and the workload at times unbearable but if you can find a system that works for you and you can surrender to the fact that there will always more to do then you will be ok. The only difference between people who have an idea for a business and those that run successful businesses is HARD WORK. You need to be prepared to do the work, every damn day. How bad do you want it?

Keen to start 2019 with a bang? Here are my 5 simple steps to help you nail your business sales in the new year.

1. Get clear on the problem you are solving for your customer. Your job as a business owner is to understand the pain points of your customer. What are their problems, priorities, and needs? Just like in everyday life, problems or pain in our life/business is often where the desire for change/searching for a solution comes from. If you can clearly identify the problems that your customers are experiencing and showcase the valuable solution that you have to offer them that will genuinely alleviate their pain, your sales will be a walk in the park. When people are in pain and are desperately in need for answers or a solution, it doesn’t matter what the price point is, they just need someone they trust with the right solution to help them fix it. Show your customer that that is YOU and your business and they will come along for the ride.

2. Clean up your online presence. Having a strong digital presence is a powerful tool for generating sales in your business. Right now there is likely to be someone reading your blog posts, listening to your podcast, stalking your Instagram or talking about you to someone they know. More often than not, customers are making up their mind about you and your business long before they engage with you via email or purchase anything from you. Make sure your online presence is on point so when they do come stalking your channels you leave a good first impression that will make them come back for more.

Consider these touch points as a place to start the clean up:

  • Go through your website and clean up your copy – make it clear, inspiring and easy to read
  • Make sure the customer experience of getting to the checkout on your website is easy to navigate and smooth
  • Do you have contact details in your social media bios?
  • Have you invested in search engine optimisation (SEO)
  • Do you have a freebie on your website?
  • Are you inviting your customer to join a mailing list and offering a reward?
  • Are you active on social media?
  • Do you reply to comments and DM’s on social media?
  • Do you direct traffic to your website frequently?
  • Do you have free blogs and content for your customer to enjoy in their own time?
  • Do you have frequently asked questions (FAQ’s) for your customer to help themselves too?

3. Consistently show up. Consistency is key when it comes to being successful. I’m always inspired by professional athletes in this way. Serena Williams didn’t decide one day that she wanted to be a world champion, play tennis a few times and then hope for the best. She started training at age three and to this day consistently shows up in her training, mindset, health, and tournaments to move in the direction of being world #1. Don’t for a second think it’s ok to launch a business, throw together a website and post here and there on social media and that will be enough to generate the successful business of your dreams. If you want it bad enough, you will dedicate time every single day to learning, growing and investing in yourself and your business. Show up, consistently.

4. Use video content. In my opinion video content is the next big thing. My advice, get in the game now and get used to it quick smart. You can’t hide behind filters with video content, it calls people to be authentic and real about what’s going down in their business. Use Instagram stories as a fun and temporary way to start playing with producing video content that engages your audience on a deeper level and showcases a different side to your business. Tell your brand story, showcase your processes, talk to them, have fun and develop your unique tone and style with video. Be real and authentic, people are craving that.

5. Leverage email marketing. Email marketing is a way in which you can maintain a relationship with your customer and keep them as ‘warm leads’ until they are ready to buy. The reality is that your customer won’t always see your social media posts so being able to pop up into their inbox on a regular basis is a smart way to stay in touch.  The more they hear from you and are reminded of the solution that you have for their problems, the more likely they are to grow in trust of you and eventually move towards spending money with you. Build yourself a sexy email template that showcases value (not just what you have for sale) and make it your New Years resolution to send it out regularly. Watch what a difference that it makes to your sales and customer relationships.

Happy selling.

The change of seasons and holiday period is a good time to do things differently. So if you’re in business and you’re looking to make the most out of this time of year, here are my top 5 recommendations for being productive over the holiday whilst still enjoying some time out.

1. Read a bloody book. What would happen if every time you went to mindlessly scroll through Instagram you picked up a book instead? My guess is you would activate a different part of your brain, learn something new and allow time and space to spark your creativity. It doesn’t have to be a self-help or business book, it could be a mindless novel that takes you into a magical land, either way, I challenge you to get yourself down to a bookshop, wander aimlessly for a 20 minutes or so and find something that tickles your fancy.

2. Download a course/workbook. Holidays are a good time to break the routine of always working ‘in the business’ and take some time to work ‘on it’. When things start to slow down and people find themselves in a more joyful relaxed mood, it’s a great time to get some perspective on what you’re trying to achieve in your business and clarity about where you want to go next.

Now is a great time to treat yourself to that workbook, course or journal that will help you to facilitate this process.

If you’re looking for some help here – try working throughout Marketing 101 ebook & workbook to review your business and make a plan for the new year.

I suggest the following worksheets:

1.1 Review your why

1.2 Business goals and targets

1.8 Customer incentives and why they shop with you

2.1 Refining your business values

3.4 Developing your brand tone of voice

5.1 Social Media Health Check

5.5 adding Value to your customer

6.4 understanding your customers WHY and getting to know them

3. Tap into your intuition. Remember when you first started out and you were full of awe and wonder of what it would be like to run your own business? You followed your heart with ease and knew deep down that you had to give it a crack. Then somewhere along the line, you got caught up in the ‘doing’ and the dreaded ‘hustle’ that keeps you trapped in the grind. This season, see if you can tap back into the fun and excitement of running a business. Take some time to sit still, meditate, be silent, whatever you want to call it and ask your heart ‘why am I doing this?’ See if you can reignite the joy that you felt the first time you realised you were an entrepreneur.

4.  Rest and restore. No matter how many elixirs, health shots, exercise classes or tables you do/take, nothing will replace a solid 8 hours of sleep. Sleeping is when our bodies rest and restore. Our organs have time to process any stress they have encountered in the day and allows the space for our internal systems to recalibrate our health and wellbeing. Use those public holidays to stay in bed that little bit longer or force yourself to retire to the couch/bed before midnight. Your body, mind, and health and thank you for it.

5. Seek a mentor. Where in your life could you use an extra set of eyes, ears or brains? Often we go through our lives playing out the same old routines from the day before. We accept the conditions of how things are done and the way they get done. It’s not until we take some time out of our every day to reflect on what could be done differently. Ask yourself the question, where could I use some help and how could I 10 x this business and take things to a new level? A mentor, coach, colleague or peer is a good way to get an instant perspective on life and business. Find someone who inspires you, will challenge you and help you see a bigger, brighter future for yourself and one that aligns with your purpose and what you want to create in this world.
