SP Motorsports was built on family history of racing and a passion for Porsche. It is highly important to us that both our clients and Porsche are highly satisfied with the extent of our services and well represented in the North American market.
On the exterior there really isn't much needed to be done. Car is equipped with a three position adjustable rear wing and a aggressive front facia for cooling and downforce. We did however add our Cabin Air Diffusers to help subdue the cabin air buffeting commonly experienced driving at speed either on the highway or on the track.

To help the drivers to continually improve their skills, data acquisition and video is truly the best investment. From novice to pro, having the ability to review driver and car data after a track session can really help from shaving seconds to tenths. AIM Sport has really put an elegant package together for track cars. With built in GPS and CAN enabled data streaming from the car, everything you need can be logged and reviewed. From RPM, steering angle, brake pressure and throttle position, all logged without purchasing a single aftermarket sensor. In conjunction with the AIM Solo DL 2, the AIM SmartyCam GP works simultaneously to capture driver video. Utilizing data and GPS from the Solo DL 2, the unit self overlays the data with video while keeping lap times simultaneously.
With the lightweight construction and the heat enduring capability of the Porsche Ceramic Composite brakes, it is even more crucial to have a high quality racing brake fluid that can withstand the heat corner after corner. Endless racing fluid the the brand we trust when it comes to high performance racing brake fluid on and off the track.
SPM Full Suspension Setup: Ride height, corner balance & alignment
Utilizing the factory available adjustments, we maximize the cars performance through specific ride height adjustments, corner balance to driver's weight and alignment defined by the tire and chassis.
To help compensate for the sound restrictions at the track, we designed a simple yet effective exhaust turn-away tip that directly bolts on inplace of the existing OE exhaust tip. This tip can be configured in two ways. It can either be pointed left or right, depending on the direction you need the sound diverted. This car frequents Laguna Seca and Sonoma Raceway, so we pre-configured it for those tracks.
We recently completed this cool build on a GT Silver 997 Carrera 4 GTS. We wanted to keep the essence of this 997 GTS as a touring oriented car but with the aggressive accents of the 997 GT3 as well as handling characteristics.

With the use of the 997.2 GT3 RS rear bumper cover, we needed a good exhaust solution. Akrapovic titanium center muffler immediately came to mind. With it's high quality fit & finish, this would be a perfect complement to this project. Custom side muffler delete sections had to be made while retaining the exhaust valves for both comfort & sport mode.
On the front, with the upgraded GT3 bumper, the center radiator was upgraded to the larger GT3 version along with all the proper ducting, including venting over the hood.
By utilizing the OE GT2 sport bucket seat, rear seat access is still retained, while still having the GT3 feel and support.

The Cobb engine and PDK tuning really brightened up the performance of this car. The 3.8 liter x51 engine paired with the Akrapovic GT3 center exhaust, BMC racing filters and Cobb Tune really feels like a GT3. With the added PDK tuning, the car even shifts like a 991 GT3!

To keep up with the Touring essence of this build, we worked with Motion Control Suspension to really tie it all together. Because of the street oriented nature of this build, single adjustable dampers were all that was really required. The GT3 sway bars provide the needed platform without sacrificing the ride quality. With properly valved compression dampening matched with the spring rates, this car really does handle like a GT3, only better ride quality.

Giving this car a well balanced feel was crucial, and the brakes were not overlooked. Luckily the GTS cars come with a decent street brake package from factory. To give it a GT3 feel we went with Advance Friction Performance brake pads. The Clubsport compound gives the car solid pedal feel and great control on and off the track. This street/track oriented compound is low dust and low noise compared to other track oriented brake pads but still retaining the performance and feel.

Our buddies over at Savvy recently took delivery of this 991.2 GT3 (PDK) and dropped it off to us for a complete makeover! They wanted to turn it into a Time Attack car and that's exactly what we did. First off we threw on BBS Monoblock wheels, our SP Grand Am Exhaust, BBi Autosport Roll Bar, AIM Sports Solo 2 DL + SmartyCam and Schroth Racing 6pt Harnesses. (Video of our exhaust down below)
Later on, it was sent over to Vinyl Styles to get a color change along with an iconic racing livery!

We recently took delivery of this Porsche Cayman GT4 and the client wanted to make it a bit more track oriented so, we installed our Stage 1 Power Kit and a track safety kit. Here are some pictures of the upgraded parts that we would like to share.
Here we have a newly delivered Sapphire Blue Metallic 991.2 GT3 in a gorgeous Sapphire Blue Metallic ready for some minor upgrades! Our client came to us wanting some goodies from our good friends, BBi Autosport. We installed the BBi StreetCup Center Section Exhaust and BBi StreetCup Roll Bar that was color matched to the car.
The StreetCup Roll Bar provides additional protection for those that can’t get away from the track. The StreetCup exhaust directly replaces the secondary center muffler, which retains the factory “Sport” mode. The Center Section reduces weight and gives the car a slightly more aggressive sound over stock. (Video below)
