This is my first post and this sub and I come seeking your wisdom. I'm playing with the idea of ditching my smart phone and regressing back to a flip phone but I'm unsure of what's really out there. I don't really have any interest in something that does anything other than basic features (talk, text, etc.), but I have a 64gb microsd card which contains a very large music library which I would prefer to carry over if possible.
Any recommendations you could offer would be most appreciated.
Need a engineer or tech savvy person’s (although I am one, am stumped) opinion on something. At my place of work, the nearest tower is only about a half a mile away. During the day it was always slow, at night I got upwards of 90 mbps. Well last night, that 90 mbps spot was 1 mbps, in the dead of the night. When I got out of work, it was still 1-2 mbps in the parking lot. The second I left the parking lot, immediately got 54 mbps down and 21 mbps up. This is the same tower that provided only 1 mbps only a couple hundred feet away. Remember it was always fast at night, now all of the sudden was still unusable. Nobody was on the tower or in the area. Also amazing that just an incredibly short distance it goes from 1 to 54. There’s no reason even with a tad weaker signal that it should drop that much. A rep on the phone spoke with the network team and the guy said he thought it was a capacity issue. How can it be capacity/congestion if it still pulls 54 mbps around the corner and even better when passing the tower? It all just doesn’t make sense.
Maybe there’s another tower that’s too close and interfering, making my phone switch off of the faster one?
And I am only at 30 GB of usage on above unlimited. No deprioritization.
Verizon has a promotion going on where if I sell them my phone, iPhone X, I’ll get $400 something dollars. I’m currently with T-Mobile and I owe $630 left on my iPhone that I bought from them. I’m currently on EIP and pay $30 a month.
Can I use the $400 that Verizon is going to give me to help pay off my T-Mobile phone? And then just pay the rest out of pocket to be done with T Mobile?
It's getting really annoying that no one can get my texts but they send every time. I also have a problem where when I do get texts back they come super late. I have had this phone replaced several times, I have reset the APNs, I have wiped several times, but what gives? Is it the SIM card? This is getting really annoying!
I've heard that the phones from Verizon are basically unlocked out of box/after a certain amount of days. That seems to be true with my s10+ as I'm still making the payments on it and I slid a tmobile prepaid sim card in just to see if it would recognize and it immediately did. With that said I just recently got a galaxy watch from Verizon. I asked the rep at the corporate store before purchasing of course if the watches were permanently tied to the network as I've heard mentioned before from someone and he said that it wasnt and of course after paying it off it was unlocked. Basically for my situation Verizon's signal and data have been major disappointment and once inpayboff my phone will probably. E changing carriers. Will say I've been slightly impressed by the galaxy watch. Guess im late to the game on the watch since it's the first smart watch I've ever owned. Basically was just curious if the watches from Verizon were unlocked after x amount of days/out of the box like the phones or is are they different in that concept
