I have not been diagnosed with a thyroid issue, but I do have a number of health conditions, including auto-immune, and also anxiety, and in trying to treat my anxiety I have been trying amino acids, and I tried taurine, just a 400mg supplement, and it really helped, but within a couple of days I started to get pain in my neck (not the throat though). have tried this twice months apart and the exact same thing happened each time. The second time I tried, just this week, it seemed to also make it much harder to fall asleep. I know that thyroid disease is usually not diagnosed until quite late stage, so I was wondering if anyone here knows what might be causing this reaction to taurine, and if it might be a sign of something?

I had a thyroid scan 3 years ago that identified a nodule larger than 3cm on one side. Have felt HORRIBLE for months, NO ENERGY and sleeping for outrageous amounts of time which is complete opposite of my norm. Yesterday got results of recent thyroid scan showing now TWO cystic nodules both measuring above 3cm on on side. Primary said my thyroid levels are totally normal, all bloodwork is. But, I KNOW something is WRONG. I’ve never just been UNABLE to get up and moving in my life even during very dark emotional times. Is it possible for CYSTIC NODULES above 3cm to have a huge physical impact even with “normal” thyroid levels? Thank you so much in advance.

I just read about this and am curious. Has anyone tried this and if so, what was your experience? Thanks!

Started with me not feeling well for a couple months. I had a scary night where I thought I was having a heart attack, my bp was around 180/120. I went to the hospital.
But before that, For years I’ve had hyPOthyroidism and have cut out gluten, and minimize my carbohydrate intake.

But since thanksgiving 2018, I’ve noticed this pressure in my throat and chest! Heart palpitations at random times of the day and anxiety that comes out of the nowhere. I also have major insomnia and trembling.

This one night last month that I went the ER thinking I was having a heart attack, they ran me allot of test, well my heart was healthy and fine. No heart attack or no clots. But they in my blood work we found out I have hyPERthyroidism with my lab results at 0.2!

I get an appointment with an endocrinologist days later. He felt my thyroid enlarged. Tested more, for goiter, came out negative! Did an ultrasound. And BOOOOM! found 2 nodules.

Left side 2.4cm. Right side 4.7cm. Prescribed me propranolol 10mg 4x day.

I have a Iodine Scan test (do not the name.. this is new to me) next week on the 16th. But I’d think I’d need biopsy, or is that after.

What do you recommend? Should I ask for a biopsy??? What’s your story??? I want to hear.
