I am in Europe for a couple more months and would like to go on a hiking trip at the end of April/beginning of May and need some help figuring out a good location. I know it is still winter and many places will be out of the picture. Any suggestions will be much appreciated. I would prefer to stay in a small town and then hike around from the town seeing as I do not have my camping equipment with me. Moderate to hard difficulty is okay with me, as long as it doesn’t require any mountaineering equipment.
Has anyone here done this hike? We want to dedicate a day to it since it's 2 hours from our hotel and pretty grueling. We will still have 4 days to dedicate to Mt. Rainier and Olympic...is it worth spending a day at? The only negative I've seen is that the bugs can be bad in August, and that the route is longer now due to washout (we'll be ready with nets for the bugs!). Thank you!
I am looking for convertible (or any) nylon hiking pants that have a 38-40 inch inseam. My waist is 42 in. The longest size i have found is 38. Is there any shop that specializes in big and tall clothing for hiking? Any help would be appreciated!
