19-29 246 5 Tds to 5 different Recievers 131 Passer rating. Also as a whole probably the most complete game the Bucs have played in the last 5 years. You couldn’t tell me they weren’t gonna make the playoffs after this game.
Which made the December collapse so shocking. I never thought lovie was a good coach so in the end it was good that he got fired but it’s still makes me wonder.

McCoy played less games so his sack numbers are impressive. But Suh had almost 200 more tackles. Suh was on the field more often making run stopping tackles and got more sacks while McCoy was hurt or on the sideline.
Suh also outperformed McCoy on the NFL players top 100 rankings every year (outside of 2014 - Gerald's best year, and 2017 - Suh's worst year) as a pro. This includes last year where Gmac didn't even make the list and Suh was 61). Suh was also on the list EVERY YEAR as a pro. McCoy was on it 6 times. So his NFL peers didn't even put him in the runnings as top 100 player in the league FOUR YEARS as a pro. Say what you want about a popularity contest (as some did in the thread I pulled this from) but you normally get popular by being good. You normally are respected bt your peers by being good.
McCoy DOES have more pro bowls. But they have the same number if 1st and 2nd team all pros. The argument that Suh is "more popular" than McCoy I think completely ignores the fact that Suh is probably one of the more hated players in the NFL (for obvious reasons).
In my opinion, most people who weren't blind homers would agree Suh has had a better career than McCoy. Maybe after his most recent bullshit people will remove their pewter colored shades. I think if I posted this to r/NFL and not here this would get downvoted because it is common sense. Here it will be downvoted because our fan base has overvalued McCoy for years and made excuses for him while Suh just got ready for work year after year and didn't miss games.
If you do not believe stats or the NFL players.... You can pull PFF if you want. I don't have the time nor do I pay $30/month for stats. The stats and peer opinions speak for themseves. I would assume 2014 and 2017 are the ONLY years Gmac outperformed Suh as a pro. I do know Suh played better than MCoy last year (not including his spectacular playoff performance).
I personally watch A LOT of football, not just the Bucs. I whole heartedly believe that Suh has had a better professional career than McCoy (who I still think is a low end hall of famer). I think Suh is a first ballot shoe in who may fall second ballot for the same reasons T.O. did.
I always thought it was a slight disappointment Suh didn't fall to us in that draft. I think we would have gotten the better player if he had. I say slight because McCoy WAS a great Buc.
To round this off - one thing I will admit is that McCoy could have been a better pro than Suh with better coaching. But he wasn't and didn't.
I'm open to debate but if you are going to say: "PFF, Stats, and player rankings do not mean shit." Maybe you can look to the best coach we have had in a whole... Bruce Arians (a great coach) edged McCoy out for Suh.
So I guess I will ask... if you think McCoy is better than Suh... why?
Let's get excited about the fact we upgraded one of our best players for someone who was willing to take less money to play for us.
