(Now I haven't seen any post related to this in 3 months of posts on this subreddit so sorry if it has been covered.)
As we all know by now, the virus we assume will kickstart the apocalypse will likely be fluid-borne (e.g. Blood, Saliva, possibly even bodily waste), therefore insects such as mosquitos, flies and fleas that basically worship these things would likely be a big, if not bigger, problem especially in warmer climates. What are your personal plans for them?
Also, would these bugs succumb to the virus or just be passive hosts?
To clear a town of zombies, would having your group divided into several vehicles or maybe one, then going around running the zombies over, which probably wouldn’t kill them, but they would most likely be crippled and easier to kill, then when you see no more you could honk the horn to attract any hidden ones, then when the town appears clear still be on guard for any hidden zombies?
Say if your house has fallen to the undead and now you need immediate shelter since your location is infested with zombies, also these places have only been partially looted, also you only have one chance to go to one location chances are if you choose wrong you die, lastly it’s your choice if you want a group, so maybe you’d want a good group location or maybe find a place with a bunch of people to get a group
Office building: usually has several floors which mean ma you could block/destroy the entrances and make it very safe, then for your exit/enter you could maybe have a rope
School: has some defense such as fences, usually a strong building, and sure to have supplies and maybe a nurses office
Hospital: great strong building teeming with supplies that are crucial, though you’d take a risk, who knows what the patients are like inside
Police station: good building but there may be bandits or other hostile people there
Retail stores: weaker building but may have adequate supplies
Grocery stores: weak building due to large amounts of huge glass windows, but a great long term solution
Malls: chances are this place will be chaos with zombies and a huge amount of other people, also they are so huge you could easily have ten zombies In the place without you knowing, how a good plan is to always have a way out, malls have many, so do you have a good enough plan to make a mall your home?
Churches: good defense with fences that are tough, heavy doors, and who knows maybe it’s protected in some way...
Warehouses: tough, no windows, and could likely have supplies, but depending on the warehouse, it could be hazardous, and their location may be troublesome
Piers and docks, possible to make you on a artificial island by destroying the likely one entrance, zombies can’t swim so they would wash away, but wouldn’t it be very cold in winter?
Shipyards: if you can, you could make a great blockade with shipping container, also chances are ships will be there, so you could possibly have a boat
Banks: only good thing is the vault
Cemetery: little building for shelter, also the tombstones may cause a severe blocking/tripping hazard to zombies, also no the zombies can’t rise from the ground, honestly I like that when it’s in a video game, but very unrealistic in basically every way
Capital building: this place may be chaos or maybe like a mall since it’s huge, but if everything goes right, you’ll have a tough building
Log cabin: you’ll have to have the know how, the labor, but it’s remote In the woods and chances are you’ll never have to deal with people
A very cliche thing among zombie anything is that there’s always that one guy who would do anything to survive, even if that means killing someone, such as Kenny from the walking dead, or Shane from the show these guys are usually great at surviving but sometimes a danger to you if your not worthy
How about a group of people you are prejudiced against such as minority’s, women, or people that are of a different sexual orientation?
How about physical and mental limitations? Would you kick anybody to the curb who is too fat, has a condition that requires care, or is too emotional, too lazy, too old, or maybe crippled, and mentally challenged?
How about a convict, with a serious felony such as murderer or rapist?
How about children? Would you accept someone with a baby that is notably loud and cries a lot?
Someone you hate on a personal scale?
How about a zombie? Maybe your very lonely, maybe you want to study them, or maybe you need guards?
How about animals such as a dog?
People who are infected? Keep in mind they might not like your answer
Somebody with an annoying problem such as pulling constant pranks, constant farts, eats too much?
How about a very weird guy, he touches you, you always catch him watching you especially when you sleep? But he never does anything to harm you
A royal asshole, he spits at you, kicks the back of your knee, steals everything, but let’s say he’s a great survivor and sees you as a grunt
A very skilled masterbaiter
Also reddit asked me to select the boxes that contained a bus, but there was only a semi
Many other people will also think of going here. Looters, or people in a mad dash to grab what they can before it's all taken because they know no other means of obtaining food.
Not really worth the risk due to the odds of finding something not looted and someone not trying to rob you.
Big amount of humans in a single space + zombie(s) --> no go area.
Only people who live there such as yourself would go there. If they have a key to your house you probably trust them if you've given that key to them, so automatically you have a trustworthy partner to watch your back whilst you sleep taking shifts etc.
You probably have food at home etc and possibly guns if you're in America.
Very good option to lay low during the initial outbreak by closing your curtains, locking the doors and windows, staying quiet and eating the food from your house that you cannot carry with you on your person first.
Military might set up evacuations, but I honestly think that these are rather useless.
Lots of people packing up their stuff and moving into one area + zombie(s) --> overrun. Military might not contain any outbreaks in the area. Area likely to be fenced off meaning less exit points for panicking crowds of evacuees running away from zombies = more zombies = more deaths = overrun.
People concealing bites etc to try to get in, end up turning mid-evac and everyone gets killed.
Any sort of researchers or doctors bringing zombies / bitten people etc trying to treat them / research them inside the evac zone is basically just a bomb waiting to explode. If you see that just leave before SHTF.
