If you've ever been to an emergency room in the Portland area for a mental health emergency (i.e suicidal)...what was your experience? What ER did you visit and how were you treated? What was the process? Were your belongings confiscated? Were you made to undress, give up your cell phone, etc because you had attempted or were thinking of suicide? How long were you there? Were you admitted to a psych ward or released directly from the ER? Do you know what details determine if/when someone is released? If you were admitted after actually attempting suicide, what was your experience? What should a person in this situation expect when seeking help at the ER in a severe mental health crisis?
Does anyone know of anywhere to get free or cheap work wear, such as steel toed boots, for low income individuals? My friend is starting a new job (finally!!) Monday, but is too broke for new safety gear for it.
