A bit of a weird one, but my mother recently found a dead bird wedged between the cushions of her leather couch, obviously in one of the late stages of decay judging by the smell.

There’s one small circular stain but that can be hidden by the cushions. The main issue is the smell. Is there any way to get it out?

Hi all - wife just bought a small black leather purse. Its nice and we'd like to keep it tip top, so trying to navigate my way through leather protection products on Amazon and its a nightmare - thousands of mixed reviews, a lot by 'professional' reviewers. Long story short, can anyone suggest a good product that will do the job and not ruin it or change the appearance? Bonus points if it can also be applied to a brown leather jacket that I have that I'd like to start treating right too.

I have a pair of black leather shoes that are semi-dull (there's a tiny bit of shine, but nowhere near where I'd like).

All the tutorials/videos I've seen show a process of adding polish (I'm using a black Bickmore cream polish) and then brushing the shoe to a shine.

When I go to brush my shoe, whatever shine that was there from adding the polish disappears and it gets duller than it was before.

My question- is it that not all leathers benefit from a brush (in terms of shine), or am I not brushing enough? Once the shine goes away (which is immediate), I stop brushing in fear of damaging the leather more.

Thoughts/opinions/suggestions? Thx!
