Hi, So this might be a lengthy one but bare with me.

A couple of months ago, around the beginning of the new year I started to notice changes with my body. It all started when my boyfriend and I were intimate. It was so painful I felt like I had a ring of fire down there and we had to stop. Then came the stomach cramps, loss of appetite, and going to the bathroom a lot! (Both no1 which often was diarrhoea and no2). My period has always been off and irregular but now it’s worse than ever. Then I started to bleed a few times and found red drops on the toilet paper and I also noticed I had piles which is a first for me. And yes I checked.. it wasn’t my period. I was so scared I didn’t dare go to the ER back then. About two weeks later everything cleared up (piles, fever, sweats, stomach pain/issues, appetite was back, no joint pain, no fatigue) and I thought maybe it was just a weird body thing (trying to come up with any excuse NOT to go to the doctors).. Another 2-3 weeks go by and again I notice blood on the tissue but this time it was A LOT and no it wasn’t my period. I know nasty but I was genuinely scared. I got off early from work and went straight to the ER. They checked my blood and found I had too many white blood cells but my CT looked fine (!?). I also checked my doctors notes from previous appointments and in almost all of my blood tests my white blood cells have been increased) They still suspect IBD because through this all I’ve had stomach issues and pain but also non GI symptoms such as fatigue, bad joint pains, migraines, irregular periods and my eyes get red but it’s rare. I had a piece of rhubarb pie yesterday at work for our fika and it messed me up. Woke up now feeling like I’ve been hit by a train. My joints are hurting so much I feel like I’m a 90-year old granny and not a 27-year old woman. What makes me not think it’s IBD is that I do not get diarrhoea very often and my stomach pains really come and go. It’s more that I lose my appetite or feel sick after eating which gives me stomach cramps and then I get constipated. I’ve also noticed that my body does not pick up the nutrients in food very well either (green stool and I usually have to go to the bathroom 10-30 min after a meal).

Is there anyone out there with IBD/Crohns/UC who can relate? My doctor said everyone with IBD shares a lot of similar symptoms but to different degrees. So she suspects mild or early set IBD and I’m scheduled for a sigmoidoscopy in a couple of weeks. I’m scared that since my CT was clear, this test will show no signs of inflammation as well and then I’m back to square one.

Any advice or help would be highly appreciated. My body is so weak rn even my fingers hurts typing haha so I’m going back to resting. Have a great day everyone who reads this.

/Tired girl with possible IBD.

I've had an inflamed rectum for a year now with no diagnosis. When they did my colonoscopy in January they found HPV but that is completely gone now and I still have the inflammation. Doctor said it didn't look like Chron's or UC but I'm not convinced.

My health has been deteriorating during the past couple weeks and I'm scared. I'm fatigued no matter how much I sleep, and my lymph nodes on either side of my groin are aching.

I was investigated by an Infectious Disease doc for parasites/STDs etc (blood tests, stool tests, swab tests) but no dice. Even had a CT scan. She said I might need to see a different medical group so I can get looked at with fresh eyes. Just waiting on further instructions from her.

The GI doc who did my colonoscopy said he'd be willing to put me on a couple weeks of prednisone to see if that helps. I messaged my other doc to see if she'd be cool with that. I should go for it, right?

Doesn't UC often start out mild and begin as proctitis? Am I crazy for thinking it's the most logical explanation??

I'm a 30 year old, physically active 200lb male. I'm a weightlifting gym rat and I don't even have ANY energy to exercise the past 10 days. WTF is going on? I'm starting to lose my mind here.

Had my colonoscopy yesterday and the GI said that I have diffuse inflammation with erosions pretty much all throughout my colon. Strong suspicion of chronic UC. They’ve removed a rectal polyp and will get biopsy results next week. I’ve started mesalamine and we’re going to see how I respond to it. Im so scared that i’ll be getting surgery for a J-pouch. I’m only 25 and trying to apply for grad school soon. This sucks man..

Getting put on these tomorrow.... I’ve had prednisolone enemas before and I didn’t find them fun. I’m on oral pentasa but doesn’t seem to be enough 🤦🏼‍♀️

I'm supposed to be getting my 3 and 6 year old ready (birthday yesterday) for a Kings Dominion trip but here I am stuck on the toilet with d and cramps nervously keeping my eye on the clock when it dawns on me that I won't have this luxury once I get there. I mean yeah sure they have bathrooms but realistically lugging the kids and navigating the crowds to find the bathroom every 15-30mins is going to be interesting.... I hate going out. This was forced on me by my mom ignoring my pleads not to go and buying a ticket anyway saying I must. I can't be the only one who tries to avoid it x/ What tips do you have?
