I just started a couple months ago, and I'd like to get my own gear. I'd also like to start out with used stuff, but the selection on eBay is pretty limited. Does anyone know of a better place to find gently used stuff?

I used to compete in fencing when I was younger, but I stopped. Before I did, though, I bought an electronic scorer. I never got to set it up, but now I was planning on doing so. What sites are there to find what I need for a low cost? Such as the metallic body guard, wires, electronic swords, mask, etc (sorry I don’t know proper terminology). Thank you!

Hello my fellow epee fencers! Question for anyone that knows a thing or 2 about blades. I'm willing to spend upwards of 100-300 on a new blade / brand new weapon. My absolute standard epee blade is getting very beat up and it bends like crazy when I go and get a touch. It's becoming dangerous to fence with. All my stuff is AF FIE, but I haven't heard the best about their blades. I'm a fencer that is shorter, around 5'5 and I move a lot slower on the feet, so with that in mind. I want a fast, extremely light flexible blade that I am able to do some flicks with. and has good durability and can hold up to rough practice 3-4x a week (preferably FIE.) I'm willing to go Leon Paul, Uhlmann, or any that meet that criteria. Thank you for anyone who replies.

I’ve been fencing sabre for a very long time, but one debate that keeps cropping up among my coaches and teammates is the validity of point in lines. Some say that the line must be established at least an advance lunge distance away from their opponent while others say that it must be established before the opponent begins a simple action to finish their attack. Which is it? Or is it defined by something else?

Any nudge in the right direction in setting up a video review system would be greatly appreciated, it does not have to be to a particularly high standard :D . If anyone has gone through this process, please share the details of your experience, what are the key requirements and biggest problem areas?

I use the ball of my rear foot for footwork. Mostly inspired by Daniele Garozzo and it's helped with my mobility. I find that it's been starting to tense up my achilles and I'm afraid that I could be nearing an injury. Would a change in shoes help? Should I change up my technique?

Also, a side question, what's wrong with wrestling shoes in fencing?

Hey all,

So I’m running an event this weekend, and as it stands we’re doing mixed poules then separate DE’s (lacking females) so the ladies get a decent amount of fencing done. My question is, if I were to put all of this into competition software and get up to the tableau, would I then be able to separate them into two tableaus? Can any software do this? My only idea at the moment is to make a full second copy of the competition, and then delete the men from it. Any help is appreciated!
