We had a bbq recently and it is just a standard bowl bbq with charcoal. Got the charcoal nice and warm, all pieces were ash grey and hot before I put burgers on. The burgers seemed to cook extremely quickly and went almost burned on the outside. So we took them off but discovered inside of the burgers were not cooked.
So they went back on the bbq and ended up being cooked to a crisp before they were done inside.
What did I do wrong? Was it too hot? Should I have waited? I didn't close the lid on the bbq and the grill was only an inch or so from the charcoal.
Greetings all. I have just bought a new grill. Char-griller 5050, without the firebox. I have an 8lb pork butt I’d like to smoke on it. Does anyone have tips or tricks on smoking this, without the side firebox?
