In hindsight, I probably wouldn't have killed this dude. At the time, it came at me and I had to react. The weight of this thing is quite impressive. As a note, Male cicada killers don't sting, but they are aggressive around their homestead, Females will sting.
I think a good number of people don't realize that a lot of the lights in and around Austin are timed based on the speed limit of said road. They take off like bats out of hell - go way over the speed limit - and then you meet them again sitting at the next light. I'd think after a bit, they'd just notice the correlation - and well - stop (making themselves look like douchbags). Lowest common denominators perhaps. Also, it's just a better drive if you are more relaxed. You'll get there in pretty much the same amount of time anyway - and people aren't cursing you.
