The day was bright, hot and beautiful when Nooshin, a PhD student in nanobiotechnology, and Shervin, an applications architect software engineer, married in Albany’s beautiful Washington Park with an intimate gathering of friends and family in attendance. The couple, who are both from Iran, made a special effort to keep in close contact with family abroad via their phones throughout the ceremony and celebration. In the evening, more friends gathered at the Cornerstone on the Plaza to celebrate the happy couple’s amazing day. Congratulations Nooshin and Shervin!!! Thank you so much for trusting me to document your heartfelt, emotional and joyful day!
Thank you to all the artists and vendors who brought Nooshin and Shervin’s vision for their day to life:
Lori and Kevin’s intimate celebration with family unfolded seamlessly last weekend at the stunning Inn at Erlowest in Lake George, New York. The couple’s happiness and love is obvious, as is the love that their family shares for them. Congratulations Lori and Kevin! Thank you for trusting me to document your amazing celebration!
It’s so easy to photograph this sweet Schenectady family — so much love, tenderness and fun — all taking place in a gorgeous old center hall colonial home that Kait has lovingly decorated. You can see more of Kait’s decorating work on Instagram here: @hoffhome. For images of baby Henry, Kait and Greg a year ago you can see a blog post from my first family lifestyle session with them here: Family Lifestyle Photography. Henry has grown a lot! Kait and Greg haven’t aged a bit.
With a deep blue sky, mountain clouds, the Adirondack High Peaks, Mirror Lake and this stunning and smitten couple, this wedding was gorgeous! Though Erica and Jake are both from central New York and grew up about an hour apart from each other, they were both living and working in Pittsburg, PA when they met. Now living in Syracuse, Lake Placid was the logical destination wedding location for them both as they each have deep family roots in the Adirondacks. The day after the summer solstice, the pair’s closest family and friends gathered at the Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort in Lake Placid, NY for their amazing wedding celebration. Congratulations Erica and Jake!
With their incredible smiles and easy-going personalities, Caitlin, an elementary teacher, and Collin, who works for MetLife, are the perfect match. Fate crossed their paths when SUNY Oswego put them in dorm rooms across the hall from each other. Last Saturday, the couple tied the knot at St. Edward the Confessor Church and Van Patten Golf Club, both in Clifton Park, NY. As the images show, they approached the ceremony with reverence, but afterwards, with their wedding party, family and friends, they were ready to celebrate. I’m thrilled to share some highlights from their gorgeous day! Congratulations Caitlin and Collin!
Thank you so much to all the talented vendors who made their day so stunning:
North meets South and the sparks flew when Jessica, a librarian who grew up in far northern New York, and Chip, a meteorologist for NASA who grew up in Virginia and Florida, met online. Here are some highlight images from when the pair wed on Saturday with family and friends in downtown Albany, NY at the beautiful Unitarian Universalist Society and the Albany Elks Lodge. Jessica wore her mom’s wedding dress and we recreated a photo from Jessica’s parents’ wedding in the doorway of the church (seen below). Congratulations Jessica and Chip! It was an honor to document your beautiful day!

After working day and night to finish editing and sending off all of my beautiful 2018 weddings, it was a joy to take a breather and go through my work from the year and pick out some favorite images to update my website with new work. I am beyond grateful to have witnessed and documented so much love and beauty in many forms. 2018 was an incredible year for me and my business and I could not have done it without all the wonderful couples who trusted me with their once-in-a-lifetime days. Peace, love and gratitude to all of you and your families. I’m also very thankful to be a part of the photography community here in Upstate New York - there is so much talent and so much love. Here’s to a 2019 beyond all of our wildest dreams!!!
Some of the incredible venues where all this beauty happened:
I loved photographing these high school sweethearts turned epidemiologist and Albany police officer who are engaged to marry next fall at the stunning and historic Pruyn House in Latham. We celebrated their engagement with a fun photo session in flannel at Thacher State Park as the late fall leaves glowed in the chilly sunset. Amanda's generous laugh kept Jon energized and warm as we enjoyed the stunning views, visited a creek and played in the leaves. These two are meant to be together and I'm so excited for fall 2019!
