Various scientific studies have started finding that beginning your own organic gardening is beneficial for all areas of life — plants, soil, insects, air quality, water, animals, and even your own physical and mental health, the Organic Consumer Association informs us. Certain traditional farming practices have resulted in an increase of pollutants in our water, soil, air, and our own bodies. Individuals all over the country are starting to maintain their own organic food gardens.

Just like sleeping on a mattress made of organic latex, there are numerous benefits of growing your own organic garden. In general, not only does this practice help to improve the environment and reduce the risk of accelerated disease, when you grow your own organic garden, it can also provide you with:

  • Long-term money savings
  • Physical and mental benefits
  • Increased nutrient content in your soil
  • And more
Specific Benefits of Growing Your Own Organic Garden

Growing an organic garden is beneficial to both you and the environment in the following ways.

For Yourself

1. Good Health

Organic gardens are free of toxic chemicals, meaning your produce will also be free of them as well. Your vegetables and fruits won’t have any chemical residue on them, which could enter your body if not washed off completely. Chemical herbicides, pesticides, and fertilizers have been associated with:

  • Birth defects
  • Breast cancer
  • Miscarriages
  • Damaged brain function
  • Autism
  • Depression
  • Prostate cancer
  • Parkinson’s
  • Childhood leukemia
  • Infertility

Therefore, possibly one of the biggest health-related benefits of growing an organic garden is simply being able to skip these types of risks.

Organic produce also has higher nutrient content than produce grown with the use of pesticides, chemical fertilizers, and herbicides. When you plant your own organic garden, you’re assuring yourself as well as your family the best fruits and veggies possible. Not to mention, you’re adding exercise from working in your garden, which could help work off excess calories, and tone up your body.

2. Know What’s in your Food

With your own organic garden, you’ll know exactly how that tomato transferred from seed to your plate. You can control what you put in the soil, and what your plants are provided with other than sunshine and rain.

3. You’ll Save Money

While you could spend a few extra bucks for organic greens or tomatoes at your local grocery market, nothing beats being able to pick your fresh veggies for free from your own backyard.

4. Your Produce is Fresh

An organic garden provides you with provides you with fresh-picked flavor just minutes before you meal. This you’ll never doubt again after tasting a fresh sugar snap pea or asparagus spear you picked from your own garden. With an organic home garden, your vegetables and fruits won’t need to be transferred across the country on a truck to your local grocery store where they’ll begin losing freshness, flavor, and nutrition along the way.

For the Environment

If you’re contemplating whether or not to start your own organic garden, you should take the environmental impact into consideration of conventional gardening. With an organic home garden, you experience these benefits:

1. No Groundwater Toxicity

A study has been conducted about the combination of fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides, reports the University of Wisconsin—Madison.  The study shows serious hormonal, immune, or neurological impacts of our groundwater’s present toxicity levels, and its impact on the health of humans and animals in terms of neurogical health, endocrine, and immune systems.

2. Long-Term Sustainability

Many environmental changes observed are long-term, and occur gradually over time. Organic agriculture takes the long-term agricultural interventions’ effect on our agro-ecosystem into consideration. It works towards producing food, while establishing and maintaining an ecological balance to avoid pest and fertility problems. It takes proactive action rather than simply treating problems after they occur.

3. No Harm to Beneficial Insects

Pesticides not only kill unwanted insects that can harm your vegetables, they also kill the beneficial ones (like bees) as well, reports Pesticide Action Network. Harsh chemicals are believed to be a potential reason for the collapse of bee colonies, and can impact other pollinators needed for growing food.

4. Good Soil

Soil building practices central to organic practices are:

  • Symbiotic associations
  • Crop rotations
  • Cover crops
  • Inter-cropping
  • Organic fertilizers
  • Minimum tillage

These encourage soil flora and fauna, helping to improve soil formation and structure, and create more stable systems. Because of this, there’s an increase in energy and nutrient cycling, and the soil’s retentive abilities for water and nutrients are enhanced, which compensates for not using mineral fertilizers.

These management methods also play a significant role in the control of soil erosion. The soil’s length of time being exposed to erosive forces is reduced, nutrient losses are decreased, and soil biodiversity is increased, helping to enhance and maintain soil productivity. Farm-derived renewable resources compensate for crop export of nutrients, but are in some cases necessary for supplementing organic soils with phosphate, potassium, magnesium, trace elements, and calcium from external sources.

Steps to Grow Your Own Organic Garden

Just thinking about starting an organic garden may be overwhelming. You have so many options as to what to purchase, how and when to plant, and even how to keep your garden alive. Then on top of that, throw in having to weed, harvest, and canning — where do you find the time?

However, it’s not as time-consuming as you may think, and if your priority is to have access to fresh fruits and veggies with maximum nutrients, then even an indoor herb box or small-scale garden is a good start. And, you don’t necessarily have to can your foods that come from your garden — you can store many of them in your freezer, or just eat them up fresh.

So, let’s get started with your own organic garden. Here are the steps you need to follow.

1. Decide on What You’ll Be Growing

The best choice here is to grow what you eat the most, and what would cost the most if you buy organically. While these can be helpful, you don’t need to overwhelm yourself with a ton of gardening websites, books, planning, or charts. The best thing to do is to get some hands-on experience. Buy some seed packets, and read the instructions included on the back. Start with only a few types of food, and slowly build up your garden each year.

Some good seed choices for beginners are:

  • Tomatoes
  • Snap peas
  • Zucchini
  • Peppers

2. Choose the Location

Choose a spot that receives a minimum of six to eight hours each day of sunlight. The location should be away from big trees and roots. If you’re growing some veggies in containers, don’t choose areas that often get strong winds, since they could topple over. Ensure the area is where you’ll have easy access to water.

3. Start Small

To start, 100 sq. feet per individual in your household is sufficient. Even 50 sq. feet is fine. A lot of newbie gardeners start their gardens out too large, and end up quitting, so the best advice is to start small. If you plant densely, you can grow a lot of fruits and vegetables in 100 sq. feet. Instead of trying to plant 10 tomatoes, plant one or two plants, stake them up, and take good care of them. One plant could give you dozens of tomatoes if you take care of it.

4. Use Good Soil

Once you’ve chosen your location and sq. feet, you want to make sure you’re using good soil, and if you don’t, amend it. Soil testing is offered by many county extension offices at affordable prices. You can determine if you need to add anything to your soil by having it tested. You might want to prepare your soil with organic compost to provide beautiful, black soil for your veggies.

5. Understand Your Seeds vs. Transplants Needs

If you plan on growing spinach, lettuce, basil, tomatoes, and zucchini, plan on purchasing nursery starts (transplants). For other plants, buy seeds. Follow the seed packet’s instructions for direct seeded plants. They’ll let you know how deep you should plant the seed, and how much room you should give mature plants. You shouldn’t place transplants in the soil deeper than what’s in the pot. The only exception of this is tomatoes, which you need to bury the entire stem up to the leaves.

6. Water Your Crops Well

Since good growth requires moisture, plan for watering right from the beginning. Most organic gardens will need a minimum of an inch of water each week, and if hot outside, even more. To avoid having to drag a hose around or carry heaving watering cans, ensure you have easy access to rain barrels and spigots. Water immediately after you plant.

7. Feed and Weed Your Garden

Once you’ve planted your garden, next you’re going to feed and weed it. You won’t need this step right away if you’ve tested and prepared your soil with compost.

You will have your fair share of weeding to do with an organic garden, since you’re not going to be using chemical herbicides, but there is a way to make this process simpler. Weeds can’t grow if there’s no light, so you can cover the garden aisles with cardboard or newspaper before they begin growing. Or you can put down a natural paper weed barrier which tills into the soil once the season’s over.

8. Utilize Natural Pest Control

Pest control is important for an organic garden. Spending hours on your garden only to have caterpillars, bugs, and small animals destroy your plants is frustrating.

But, with an organic garden, you can’t use most of the regular pesticides. However, you can still keep the pests away naturally. In fact, there are certain plants that have natural properties that deter pests and help other plants grow. Some include:

  • Basil
  • Borage
  • Onions
  • Dill
Get Started on Growing Your Own Organic Garden

Keep in mind you may face some failures your first year trying to grow an organic garden. It takes patience and practice. But, you grow plenty of what you plant. You can start small to begin supporting an organic lifestyle by growing a few pots of pepper and tomato plants. Or to go big, you can tranform your entire back yard (or most of it) into an organic farm/garden.

Gaining the peace of mind knowing where your fruits and vegetables come from, and what’s not being sprayed on them, is worth the small time and money investment as well as the trial and error phase.

Sleep might be one of the easiest changes you can make to your everyday routine that can affect everything from your physical health to your emotional and mental health.

Lack of sleep or impaired sleep could:

  • Affect your immune system
  • Raise your blood pressure
  • Increase your risk of heart disease
  • Increase your risk of Alzheimer’s disease

Poor sleep quality could also affect other chronic or serious underlying health problems, like multiple sclerosis, kidney disease, or gastrointestinal disorders.

An annual survey by the National Sleep Foundation (NSF) showed both parents and children experience poor-quality or interrupted sleep due to various factors, including:

  • Light
  • Noise
  • Room temperature
  • Evening activities
  • Pets

Now, there’s another factor you might just be able to add to the list of factors for poor-quality sleep. Studies show the body reacts a certain way to the full moon, and is not related to the extra light outdoors.

All About a Full Moon

Here is some interesting information about full moons.

What Is a Full Moon?

A full moon is a lunar phase where the moon is completely illuminated from Earth’s view. This occurs when the Earth is situated between the moon and sun, where the ecliptic longitudes of the moon and sun differ by 180 degrees. This means the lunar hemisphere that is facing the near side of Earth is totally lit up by the sun, and looks like a circular disk.

Various cultures have given the full moon on each separate month a distinct name. These names were given to the whole month in which each full moon occurred. You can find several names in a list by the Farmer’s Almanac that people use commonly in the U.S.

The almanac provides details about the different variations of names for the moon; however, the New England Algonquin tribes on west to Lake Superior used the same ones. European settlers had their own customs they followed, and made up their own names.

How and When a Full Moon Occurs

The full moon occurs around once a month, when it shows its full face to Earth.

But, a lot of the times, it’s not completely full. When you look up at a full moon, you always see the same side of it. However, a part of it remains in shadow. It’s only when the Earth, sun, and moon are completely aligned that the moon becomes completely full, and this alignment creates what is known as a lunar eclipse. On occasion, you may even see a full moon twice in one month, which is referred to as a blue moon.

Can a Full Moon Affect Your Sleep?

Individuals have been reporting for some time that it’s more difficult to fall asleep and stay asleep when there’s a full moon, and even after they’ve experienced a seemingly good night’s sleep, they can still feel a bit sluggish — a kind of full moon hangover that they don’t experience on other days.

If you’re sleeping in a settler’s cabin or on a prairie where there’s no shade, the light of the moon is an inescapable explanation. However, the phenomenon remains long after humans moved inside climate-controlled and fully curtained homes, even if sleeping on a luxurious natural latex mattress.

What’s always been unclear is whether it’s true or not if the moon actually does affect us, or if it’s just a combination of selective reporting and imagination, with some individuals who believe in lunar cycles noticing a pattern where there isn’t one. The journal Current Biology now has published a report that suggests these believers have been on the right track all along.

In the astrology world, however, the full moon affecting your sleep isn’t a surprise. According to astrologists, the moon has control over the ocean. The moon’s gravitational pull on Earth has control over the ocean’s tides, and humans are made up of between 50 and 70 percent water (this depends on factors like age).

Since the moon has control over the Earth’s waters and oceans, its lunar phases could affect the human body as well, by affecting the waters within us, or so the astrologists believe.

Ways Astrologists Think a Full Moon Affects Our Sleep

Here are some ways a full moon can affect your sleep, according to astrology:

1. It Makes it More Difficult to Fall Asleep

While science is continuing to try and understand how and why the moon affects your sleep, astrology views the connection as very intuitive. The moon’s impact on the water element in your body makes it harder to sleep. Each human body consists of mostly water, and this makes the moon extremely capable of changing our mental state and mood. If your mind is chaotic, it’s hard to sleep. Try and imagine what a new moon or full moon can do to your thought processes. A chaotic mind can mean a much more difficult time being able to fall and stay asleep.

2. It Makes You Restless

A full moon can make you experience a sense of restlessness.  You may have higher-than-normal adrenalin, and it could make falling asleep more difficult because of the extra energy.

3. It Makes You Require Less Sleep

It’s possible your body could feel like it requires less sleep when there’s a full moon. According to astrology, this is because of the energy that comes from the moon’s light. They say luminaries can take a toll on your body both physically and mentally. During a full moon, you’re at a high, feeling very energized.

4. It Affects REM Sleep

A full moon interrupts the REM phase or deepest phase of your sleep due to the cosmic night light causing poor quality of sleep. Combine this with the possible increased restlessness and energy; it could make it extra difficult to sleep while there’s a full moon.

What Science Says About Full Moons Affecting your Sleep

According to a study, researchers found NREM sleep’s electroencephalogram (EEG) delta activity, which indicates deep sleep, saw a reduction of around 30 percent, EEG-assessed total sleep duration saw a 20-minute reduction, and the time it takes to start falling asleep increased by five minutes when there was a full moon. These changes were linked with lowered endogenous melatonin levels, and a reduction in subjective quality of sleep.

The participants didn’t have any way of knowing the time of day because they couldn’t see the moon, and their exposure to light was controlled. Also, the researchers were collecting the information for a general sleep study, instead of research on the lunar cycles. This further decreased the possibility of any biases during the study.

While there still needs to be more research to uncover the reason behind this phenomenon, and strengthen the findings already present, some research does suggest the association between the lunar cycle and our sleep has something to do with our circadian clocks.

There hasn’t been any study looking at the effect certain conditions and age could have on the quality of sleep as it’s tied to the moon; therefore, there’s still much to learn. In order to have a deeper understanding of this phenomena, researchers and scientists will have to gather up more information and data from more individuals over a longer time period, and take some time to study this data.

Organic Bedding offers many benefits to consumers. In this article we give you 5 reasons to buy organic bedding. Read on and find out why this might be the best decision you’ll ever make.

1. Your Personal Health and Happiness

When you buy organic bedding, you are making an investment in your health and overall happiness. Organic bedding is made without chemicals and toxins, and it is healthy to sleep on. As you know, chemicals and toxins can lead to a wide range of poor health conditions, including:

  • Respiratory ailments
  • Allergic reactions
  • Skin irritation

Organic bedding also has a profound effects on the quality and quantity of sleep you get. This is because it sleeps cooler than most synthetic sheets, allowing you to remain cool and comfortable, after you fall asleep. It also wicks moisture away from your skin, so you don’t wake up sweating during the night. The bottom line is that you are happier and healthier when you get a good night’s sleep.

Organic bedding also offers unmatched luxurious comfort. Organic cotton, for instance, offers a comforting coolness you’ll be hard pressed to find in any other types of sheets you can buy. Sleeping on these sheets will leave you feeling like royalty.

Also, the fact that they are made without toxic chemicals, dyes, pesticides, artificial fertilizers, and other harmful ingredients, allows you to rest easy with peace of mind.

2. The Health of Your Family

The odds are good that you work hard to get your family to eat healthy and stay fit. You may even take added steps to clean your home with green products, and read labels on the foods and toys you buy, to ensure your children aren’t exposed to unnecessary toxins.

Unfortunately, for most families that is where the efforts end. However, the bedding that your family sleeps on at night could pose a significant risk to their health. Especially to the health of young children.

Think about the number of hours your children spend in bed each day. Young children may sleep 10 to 12 hours per day. This means they spend a lot of time in close contact with their bedding. This is yet another reason to choose organic bedding. It will allow you to feel confident that you’re doing your absolute best to prevent unseen illnesses from invading their bodies through chemicals in bedding.

3. The Health of Your Home

Your home is your sanctuary from all the worries of the world. What you may not realize is that the air inside your home is anywhere from five to 100 percent more dangerous than the air outside your home, for your family’s health, according to the EPA.

This is largely due to the improved energy efficiency of modern homes. They use less electricity and gas. They also allow less air to enter and escape your home. However, that does little to protect your home, and the people who live in it, from the items you bring into your home.

Synthetic bedding is widely known for off-gassing. That is the word used to describe the headache-inducing odor that occurs when you open the packaging on new bedding and a chemical odor escapes into the room. This is caused by VOCs (volatile organic compounds).

While the smell dissipates, the chemicals remain much longer. In fact, they can remain in your home for years, creating an unhealthy environment inside your home for all who come calling.

This problem does not occur with organic cotton sheets and other organic bedding materials. Keep this in mind not only for your bedding, but also for carpeting, mattresses, furniture, and more.

4. The Health of The Earth

For some people, it really does come down to doing what is best for the earth. You understand that the stakes are high and that decisions we make today may have profound effects on the world we leave behind for future generations. Organic bedding is biodegradable and recyclable which is great for the earth. It is also made without any of these items, which are harmful to the earth:

  • Chemical-laden dyes
  • Pesticides
  • Fungicides
  • Herbicides
  • Genetic modifications
  • Synthetic fertilizers
  • Harmful chemicals

This makes organic bedding better for you and the earth.

5. The Communities That Create Organic Bedding

As part of the commitment to sustainable products, most companies, especially those seeking independent certifications, also invest in the sustainability of communities that make their products. This includes providing clean working conditions, livable wages, and investing in the local infrastructures of the communities.

In other words, it’s a purchase you can be proud to make on many levels. Your purchase helps these communities grow and thrive, while creating organic sheets that pose no harm to the workers or the families that will ultimately receive the sheets!

Order your organic bedding from PlushBeds today, and slip into a luxurious sleep experience that is good for your health, your family, your home, and the earth.

Congratulations on your decision to invest in your healthiest night’s sleep. You’re going to love your new latex mattress. Latex mattresses are typically made with 3 latex layers of different firmness levels. You must assemble the latex layers, in the order that is most comfortable for you. Here are a few tips to help you with your latex mattress assembly.

There are a few quick items that you should take care of first. These allow you to properly assemble your mattress without damaging the latex layers.

Before You Begin

First and foremost, latex mattresses are heavier than traditional spring mattresses. Plan to have someone there to help you during the assembly process.

Here are a few additional items to keep in mind, as you assemble your latex mattress:

  • Verify that you received the appropriate number of boxes. You can check your shipping receipt to make sure all the boxes have arrived, before you open them.
  • Open the box with care. You could accidentally cut any of the mattress components, if using sharp instruments to open the box. It is best to avoid that kind of damage if at all possible.
  • Move the boxes to your bedroom or the room where you will be using the mattress, and assemble it there.
  • Do not pull or yank on the latex layers that make up your mattress. Doing so could cause them to rip or tear. Handle the latex layers gently and with care.
  • Resist the temptation to place your fingers in the holes in the latex. While it may be tempting to use the holes in the latex as “finger holds” when moving the latex around, it can damage the latex.
  • Don’t stretch the latex layers of your mattress when moving them around or when placing them into the mattress cover.
  • Be careful when assembling your mattress. But, don’t panic if there are slight tears in the latex. Small tears will not affect the performance of your latex mattress.

Once you have the basics in mind about what to do and what not to do during the assembly process, it’s time to get started with the assembly.

Latex Mattress Assembly

The assembly instructions for your natural latex mattress are fairly straightforward and simple. Just follow the steps listed below and enjoy all of the benefits of sleeping on a latex mattress.

Step 1. Locate the organic cotton zippered cover.

All the latex layers fit inside of your zippered cover. Don’t be concerned if it looks a little small for your mattress. It is supposed to be a snug fit, and your mattress will look beautiful once all layers are zipped inside.

Step 2. Identify the base layer of your mattress.

Place the bottom/base layer inside the mattress cover, and gently shake it into place. You may need to grip the latex firmly, and wiggle the layer into place, so that it can settle flatly.

Take your time with this layer as it is the foundation for your mattress. You may need to reposition it several times to get it to line up perfectly inside of the cover. You want to make sure this bottom/base layer lines up with the seams of your mattress cover.

Once you have it all in place, pull on the border of the mattress cover to make sure there are no wrinkles beneath the latex base layer, and that all the fabric is smooth and flat as well.

Step 3. Insert the additional latex layers, one at a time.

Locate and insert the additional layers of your mattress on top of the bottom/base layer, one layer at a time. Be aware that the natural tendency of latex is for the layers to “grip” themselves. This is why glues aren’t needed for latex mattresses.

It is also best to have help when assembling your mattress. Four hands are better than two for this part of the process, because you may have to gently shake each layer into place. Grip the latex firmly, and wiggle each layer into place, so that it can settle flatly and line up with the other layers.

Once the second and third layers have been put together, it’s time to carefully zip your mattress cover around your new mattress. Be careful to smooth the layers out one last time, and check for proper alignment of layers and seams before you begin.

Step 4. Zip it Up

When zipping, take care to avoid snagging the latex with the zipper. You may need to gently push the latex to avoid this. Take your time, and avoid pulling too hard (or too fast). The organic cotton cover will tightly enclose all of the latex layers.

Step 5. Make Your Bed

Once your latex mattress assembly is finished, it’s time to make your bed, and enjoy many years of luxurious, healthy and deep, rejuvenating sleep.

Summer officially begins on June 21, 2019. This leaves us with two more weeks to enjoy the Spring season.

The Spring season is known for it’s beautiful weather. This beautiful weather is known to motivate us to break out our to-do-list and get a fresh start in various areas of our lives. If you did not do this, now is the perfect time to get motivated and finish up your to-do-list before Summer arrives!

Below is a list of 20 things to do before Spring ends.

1. Start an Herb Garden

Choose the location you’re going to start your herb garden. Loosen up the soil to prepare the planting area. Dig your plant holes, and add the plants or seeds to the soil. Some suggested herbs are:

  • Sage
  • Basil
  • Lavender
  • Oregano
  • Parsley
  • Sweet marjoram
  • Cilantro
  • Chives
  • Common thyme
  • Rosemary

Once you’ve planted your herbs, label them and surround them with flowering plants. Then be sure you water them regularly.

2. Spring Clean Your Wardrobe

Sort through all your clothing. It’s quite convenient to do this while you’re transitioning seasons in the closet. While you’re packing away your winter sweaters, consider which ones you didn’t really wear this past winter, and donate them.  Do the same as you’re hanging up your spring clothing. Having a lighter wardrobe in your closet will help you feel less overwhelmed and more organized.

3. Spring Clean Your Makeup

Things like glitter, powder stains, mascara, brush bristles, and foundation have likely left their mark over time. Spring is a good time to clean out your makeup bag. Give it a good scrub with warm soap and water, and allow it to air dry. This provides you with a clean bag to put your makeup back into.

4. Go to Yard Sales

Yard sales are a fun way to get outdoors and do a little shopping for bargains. You may want to de-clutter your home, and eliminate unnecessary things first before you bring new things into your home.

5. Decorate Your Home for Spring

Bring spring indoors. Why not bring some of it into your home with spring decorations? Go bright. Add some white to the color scheme you have presently. This will both brighten and cool the look of your home, and add some freshness into it. Paint your focal wall in a brighter, sunnier, or lighter shade of the wall color you have currently. Bring some nature indoors, too. Add floral print fabric to your rooms. Use your rooms’ primary colors when choosing things like:

  • Seat cushions
  • Decorative pillows
  • Curtains
  • Tablecloth or runner for the dining room table

6. Go to the Museum on a Rainy Day

The “weather” isn’t an acceptable excuse for not going out and doing something in the spring.

7. Volunteer Your Time

Volunteer at your local animal shelter to walk dogs. This is a much-needed activity that benefits you, the dogs, and the shelter.

8. Clean Your Mattress

A mattress is a sound investment in great sleep for many years. Chances are, you spend around one-third of every day in your bed. By cleaning it and taking care of it properly, your mattress can last you far longer than the warranty you received on it. Be sure to clean the mattress protector and bedding as well. If you have an older mattress, consider replacing it with an organic latex mattress, made with pure organic materials, no chemicals, non-toxic and hypoallergenic. Also, consider organic bed sheets as well. These items with provide you with comfortable and healthy sleep for many years to come.

9. Plant Something

Get outdoors, and plant something whether its a garden in your backyard or in a plot at your local community garden. If you’re not able to plant anything, buy a few plants you can care for.

10. Take a Cooking Class

Find a cooking class that will incorporate fresh ingredients, or search for some spring recipes you can make at home. Eating or preparing season relevant foods is a great way to get into the spring spirit.

11. Eat Fresh Fruits and Veggies

Go to your local farmers market, and try some seasonal vegetables and fruits. Nothing expresses springtime more than fresh strawberries. Plus, spring is the peak season for fresh veggies and fruits.

12. De-clutter

Spring is the perfect time to go around your home, and get rid of things you’re not using. This includes things stored in your basement, attic, or garage that you’ll “someday” need.

13. Redecorate Your Space

Spring is a great time for revamping your space, since it inspires an air of renewal. Consider hanging up some new photos, repainting your rooms with a fresher color, or simply rearranging your furniture. Any efforts you put into redecorating a space will make it feel completely different, which may just shake those winter blues off.

14. Organize Your Paperwork

It can cost you a great deal when you’re not able to find a sensitive or important document. Go through your filing cabinet, and get rid of paperwork you no longer need. This will make it easier to locate the important paperwork when needed.

15. Have a Party

Host a home party with a spring theme. Or, invite a group of friends, and plan a sunset picnic at the park or a bonfire. Get outdoors and enjoy the spring weather.

16. Take a Hike at Night

Take a nighttime hike with your loved one, pet, or a friend. It’s the perfect way to get outdoors. Nighttime can really make an expansive view look more beautiful. If you live in a city that doesn’t have any hiking trails, simply check out the scenic view from a skyrise building or lookout point.

17. Sign Up for a Workout Class

Exercising in the spring will get your body ready for the beach in the summer, when we shed some of our winter clothing.

18. Go to the Park

Enjoy the milder temperatures of spring by packing up your picnic basket and enjoying your meal outdoors. Bring a blanket and your favorite book, and of course, Fido.

19. Plant Your Landscape

Reseed your lawn. Before the summer heat kicks in, fill in bald patches. Plant and water perennials. Fertilize your lawn later on in the spring when the lilacs bloom and your grass turns very green again.

20. Tackle Garden Pests

Take preventative measures now to keep pests under control, and keep insects away from your harvest.

Spring makes the perfect ending to the chilly days of winter and a brief transition to the hot summer. In many locations, spring brings with it mild 60s and 70s temperatures. It’s the perfect time to complete that to-do-list.

Back pain. It can be disruptive when trying to get a good night’s sleep. Whether you have an injury or you suffer from chronic back pain, you understand the difficulties of finding comfort and a good night’s sleep.

So how can an adjustable bed make a difference for your sleep or the pain you experience while trying to sleep? The answer is simple. By allowing your upper body to rest at a 30 to 45 degree incline, and providing support under the knees, you’re giving your spine the support it requires to become comfortable enough for a good night’s sleep.

This specific position is actually quite helpful to anyone who finds sitting in a recliner comfortable. It is especially helpful for people who suffer from the following conditions:

  • Back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Shoulder arthritis
  • Shoulder pain
  • Other joint conditions

More importantly, people who have specific health conditions affecting their spine and/or back pain, often find adjustable beds to be incredibly helpful for getting comfortable and getting more sleep. These are some of the big hitters when it comes to spinal conditions experiencing improved sleep opportunities in adjustable beds:

  • Degenerative spondylolisthesis. Reclining while sleeping with adequate support beneath the knees can minimize back discomfort, allowing people with this condition to sleep throughout the night.
  • Osteoarthritis. Adjustable beds may lead to more spinal support while sleeping, along with less joint compression for a more comfortable experience upon waking in the morning.
  • Spinal stenosis. People who have this condition feel most comfortable when bending forward rather than standing up straight. Sleeping in an adjustable mattress allows opportunities for people with this condition to sleep reclined for greater comfort.

These are just a few of the conditions that can be helped with the right sleep positions that are easily achievable with an adjustable bed. For instance, people with herniated discs or degenerative disc disease may find relief by elevating their legs, which helps to elongate the back. The idea is to straighten the back which opens up the joints and relieves pain.

Why Adjustable Beds for Back Pain?

For many years people have used pillows to help facilitate back-relieving sleep positions. Unfortunately, using pillows for this purpose tends to get uncomfortably warm, and pillows have tendencies to bunch, slip, fall out of position, and get tangled in between blankets and covers, causing the very sleep disruptions you’re seeking to avoid in the first place.

Adjustable beds make it much easier to get into these back-relieving positions without breaking your back or resorting to pillow yoga to make it happen. Even better, the adjustable bed itself helps you to place your body into the proper positions for maximum relief.

Simply put, they make getting into the proper sleep positions, and maintaining those positions throughout the night, easier so you can enjoy greater effects from your efforts.

These are a few of the adjustable bed positions you might consider to get the relief you seek.

Lower Back Pain

Elevate legs so that your knees are bent, and your back is completely flat. This is the ideal position for addressing lower back pain, and it works by creating a pelvic tilt that positions your lower back, so that you can begin strengthening target muscles and realigning your spine.

You may need to play around with the precise adjustments to find the perfect balance of comfort and support, but this position offers outstanding lower back pain relief.

Upper Back Pain

Elevate your head so that your back is higher. Doing this helps to place less pressure on your neck, shoulders, and upper back.

Lower Back Tension Pain

Lower back pain can be the result of tension pain. People who experience this often find relief by sleeping in a fetal position. Adjustable beds allow you to achieve this position in a manner that releases the lower back into the mattress so you can relax, while sleeping without experiencing tension pain in your lower back.

Back Strain Relief

Sometimes back pain is not the result of chronic conditions, but the result of strains. You do not have to make major adjustments in your elevation to achieve notable relief. As little as an inch of elevation for your back and/or your legs can result in enormous pain and pressure relief.

Some may even suggest using an adjustable bed to assist you in various exercises to strengthen your back, and relieve some of the soreness from chronic back pain.

Zero Gravity

Most people will argue that the position that addresses lower back pain best is one known as the zero gravity position. This position not only helps to relieve pressure for your spine, but also offers a sensation of weightlessness that many people associate with an outstanding sleep experience. There are other health benefits for sleeping in this position to consider as well. They include:

  • Reduces snoring. The zero G position is able to do this by opening up airway restrictions, so you can breathe freely while sleeping. This leads to fewer sleep disruptions, deeper sleep, and greatly improved overall health.
  • Relieves acid reflux. Many people who suffer from acid reflux find that the zero gravity position where their heads and legs are elevated offers optimal relief from the unpleasant symptoms of acid reflux.
  • Improves heart health. By reducing pressure on the heart, the zero G sleep position allows for better circulation and blood flow throughout the body.
  • Reduces leg swelling. Swollen legs are common when blood flow is impeded. However, the zero G position keeps the legs perfectly elevated to reduce and even minimize swelling, while allowing your legs to recover from the strains and stresses of the day.

Ultimately, some people simply prefer sleeping in this position or countless other variations where heads, legs, or both are slightly or largely inclined. It may take a while to find your perfect sleep position but once you do, laying flat will never deliver the same results for you again.

Considerations When Shopping for an Adjustable Bed

Adjustable beds are more than just the sums of their parts. Different bases offer different features that may be more or less attractive to you. Explore your options, so you can buy with confidence that you’re getting your money’s worth. Features you may find attractive include:

  • Massage capabilities. These are especially attractive to some when they can be used as a gentle alarm feature in the morning.
  • Adjustable positions. Others appreciate the ability to make adjustments based upon their sleeping positions or simply to read or watch tv in bed.
  • Timers that return you to a flat position after you’ve fallen asleep. Some find it easier to get into and out of bed from a flat position than their adjusted positions.
  • Zero gravity position. This position relieves the pressure of gravity and distributes ones weight evenly, while providing proper support.

Another important consideration is for couples with different sleeping needs. They may find the idea of an adjustable bed disturbing or potentially disruptive. If this is the case, you may do better with a split adjustable bed, which comes with two remote controls and each side can operate independently.

If you haven’t had the opportunity to get to know Loveleaf Co. founder, Ally Milligan, now is your chance.

We, at PlushBeds, certainly decided to take a look after she purchased our 12” Botanical Bliss Mattress, and wrote to us to tell us how much she loves it.

In fact, she had nothing but rave reviews about her experience with our mattress saying, “Though nutrition is a huge aspect of being “healthy,” it’s not everything. Our health is also greatly impacted by what we expose our bodies to. We spend about a third of our lives in bed, which made me obsessed with finding a non-toxic, organic mattress. To say that I love this one is an understatement.”

Let us be the first to say the feeling is mutual. After visiting Ally’s website, Loveleafco.com, we can honestly say we have nothing but love for Ally Milligan’s message and her methods.

Meet Ally Milligan, Founder of Loveleaf Co.

Ally Milligan is a certified nutritional therapy practitioner, and the founder of Loveleaf Co., a digital media and lifestyle brand, simplifying health, nutrition, and wellness.

Based out of Brooklyn, New York, Ally once believed she was living the epitome of a healthy lifestyle. She trained for marathons, drank “healthy” energy drinks, and counted calories with the best of them.

Still, she experienced health issues, including thyroid disease, and she just didn’t feel like herself. These health issues prompted her to dive deep, and truly change her relationship with food. She was able to regain control of her health by completely simplifying her relationship with food, and she has helped countless other women do the same.

Loveleaf Co.

Loveleaf Co. was created for those who want to live a vibrant, more intentional life, and it was built on the fundamental idea that being healthy doesn’t have to be so complicated…or restrictive.

“With Loveleaf Co., our mission is to inspire you to clear the clutter around what it means to be “healthy” so you can feel (really) good, create space for what you truly care about, and live your best life,” Ally Milligan.

Ally and Loveleaf Co. have helped thousands of women live healthier lives by providing accessible nutrition and wellness content, curated meal plans, and simple strategies.

Ally’s Approach

The Loveleaf Co. approach to nutrition is different from what you may be expecting. With her content on Loveleaf Co., Ally takes a holistic approach to nutrition that is evidence-based and highly effective when it comes to addressing imbalances within the body. She understands that a one-size approach to health and nutrition does not work for every body, and takes an individualized, bio-individual, approach to nutrition.

Her first priority is to create her signature anti-inflammatory meal plans that involve whole foods and nutrition, along with actionable steps her audience can put to work right away. Once they begin to experience the results of these nutritional choices, it empowers them, even more, to take back control over their health through nutrition, while receiving ongoing support from Loveleaf Co.content.

Loveleaf Co. Recipes for Better Health

Wouldn’t it be great if you could choose foods that are good for you without feeling like you’re eating healthy? Who doesn’t love the sinful feeling of eating a decadent dish you know you’re going to pay for later?

Ally believes it isn’t always necessary to choose. Sometimes, there are foods that taste sinfully delicious while being good for you, too.

Ally offers excellent advice and amazing recipes on her website that are free for anyone to use. Here are a few of our favorite smoothie and pudding recipes from Loveleafco.com:

Mint Chocolate Chip Smoothie

Ally believes smoothies are excellent choices for fitting healthy real-food nutrients into your diet. They are easy to make, highly portable for on-the-go ease, and delicious to drink. Especially this one.

Place the following ingredients into your blender:

  • ½ frozen banana
  • ½ cup frozen riced cauliflower
  • 1 cup almond milk (unsweetened)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • ¼ cup fresh mint leaves
  • ¼ avocado
  • 1 serving protein powder (you may use any protein powder of your choice. Ally prefers Vital Proteins)
  • 1-2 pitted Medjool dates  (depending on sweetness preference)
  • Small handful of baby spinach
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of sea salt

Blend until the mixture is creamy and smooth. If it is too thick, consider adding a little more almond milk until you achieve desired consistency.

Then stir one tablespoon of cacao nibs or dark chocolate chips into the mix, and pour into a tall glass or portable container and enjoy!

Dark Chocolate Chili Smoothie

If you’re looking for a little excitement to start your day or the perfect afternoon pickup, you can’t really go wrong with this delicious concoction.

The Dark Chocolate Chili Smoothie recipe is a part of a 5-day smoothie reset, where you drink filling and delicious smoothies for breakfast for five days.

Add the following ingredients to your blender:

  • ½ frozen banana
  • ½ cup frozen riced cauliflower
  • 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon of chia seeds

  • 2-3 tablespoons of cocoa powder
  • ¼ teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper (more or less to taste)
  • Pinch of sea salt

Blend until smooth, adding a little bit of almond milk, if necessary, to reach your desired consistency.

Then add one tablespoon of cacao nibs or dark chocolate chips, and mix in. Pour into a tall glass or portable container and enjoy!

Banana Cream Pie Chia Pudding

Who knew breakfast could be so delicious and good for you at the same time? This pudding packs a powerful punch of flavor and nutrition that will leave you feeling as though you’re being completely decadent.

Place the following ingredients in your blender:

  • 1.5 cups of unsweetened non-dairy milk
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1-2 pitted Medjool dates (optional, depending on sweetness preference)[
  • Pinch of sea salt

Mix well then pour the mixture into a large bowl. Add ½ cup of chia seeds to the mix. Mix well. Divide into three jars or glasses. Cover. Refrigerate overnight.

The following morning, slice 1/3 banana (per serving). Melt 1 teaspoon of coconut oil in a small pan, and cook the banana slices over medium high heat for one to minutes per side, sprinkle with sea salt, and remove from heat.

Take one chia pudding from the refrigerator. Mix 1/3 cup of yogurt with one serving of collagen peptide, and add to one of the chia puddings. Top with the caramelize banana and (optional) 2 tablespoons of toasted coconut flakes. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Enjoy!

Repeat the process for the remaining two servings for a delightful start to your day.

When you purchase organic bed sheets, you are making an investment in the quality of your sleep. Like any investment, you want to take care of it, so you can enjoy strong returns for many years to come.

When it comes to organic bed sheets, you have an added component to the care process. You want to maintain the organic purity of your bed sheets. This guide will help you understand why it is so important to properly care for your organic bed sheets, and the necessary steps to do so.

What are Organic Bed Sheets?

Organic bed sheets are commonly made with organic cotton. This means the cotton used in making the sheets has been certified organic, declaring that it is free of the following potentially harmful ingredients:

  • Pesticides
  • Synthetic fertilizers
  • Herbicides
  • Fungicides
  • Other chemicals
  • Genetic modifications

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) offers independent verification that the organic cotton used to make sheets are free of these harmful ingredients. GOTS is a respected authority around the world for monitoring and assuring that businesses stand behind their promises of organic textile materials.

Benefits of Organic Bed Sheets

There are many benefits to using organic sheets. Some will resonate more intensely with you than others, depending on your current priorities in life. However, people from all walks of life appreciate the benefits that go with organic bed sheets, including those listed below.

  • No toxic chemicals are used to make the sheets. When it comes to the health of your family, you don’t want to compromise by buying bed sheets that can cause respiratory ailments, dizziness, allergic reactions, and skin irritation. This is especially prominent among children who sleep on bed sheets that have been made with dyes, chemicals, and pesticides.
  • A better choice for the planet. Whether you go out of your way to make buying decisions that are better for the planet or not, you can sleep easier on your new organic bed sheets knowing that this is one buying decision that will help to protect the planet for your children, grandchildren, and their children.
  • Durability in spades. Because organic cotton hasn’t been exposed to the chemicals and other materials that break fibers down, organic cotton bed sheets last longer than sheets made with excessive processing and chemical exposure. This means your investment will last longer than an equal investment in bed sheets that aren’t made with organic materials.
  • Temperature moderation. Unlike synthetic fibers that block air circulation to the body, organic cotton allows air to flow through freely. This helps to wick moisture away, and allows you to remain cool and comfortable throughout the night.
  • Biodegradable. Unlike many chemical-laden synthetic bed sheets, organic bed sheets are completely biodegradable. The fact that they can be broken down and returned to the earth quickly means less waste. Combine that with the longer life expectation of organic bed sheets, and you have fewer sheets in landfills across the country.
  • Higher quality feel. Some people simply like the higher quality feel of organic bed sheets over other types of bed sheets on the market today. If you’re looking for a taste of luxury, organic bed sheets are a must.
Caring For Your Organic Bed Sheets

Now that you understand why making the investment in organic bed sheets is important, it’s time to learn how you can properly care for your organic bed sheets. These tips will help.

  • Wash your organic bed sheets, by themselves, in cool or cold water, but no water hotter than warm.
  • Use natural plant based, or eco-friendly laundry detergent and avoid bleach of any kind.
  • Line dry or tumble dry on low. Line drying your sheets in the sunshine does wonders for whitening and brightening that bleach cannot hope to match, without adding unnecessary chemicals. If you want to add a little whitening power to your detergent, add ½ cup of baking soda to the wash once your machine fills with water. This is in addition to the natural detergent you choose.
  • Avoid using fabric softeners. If you absolutely need to soften the fabric, add ¼ cup of vinegar to your machine’s fabric softener dispenser instead.
  • Line dry whenever possible. If you must use a machine, remove your sheets while slightly damp, and lay flat to dry without wrinkles.
  • Store your bedding in a cool, dry place where it can breathe. This will prevent discoloring.
  • Make your bed and enjoy!

Simple care instructions like these can help you extend the life of your organic bed sheets. Try them today to see what a difference they make.

PlushBeds Organic Bed Sheets

Here at PlushBeds, we offer 100 percent GOTS certified organic, long staple cotton gorgeous satteen sheet sets.  The 300 thread count Egyptian cotton sheet set features organic certification by GOTS.

What’s so special about these sheets? Besides being organic, they have a luxuriously soft feel to them. They are lightweight and they also help you to sleep cool.  Also, they are hypoallergenic and they have no chemicals or dyes in them, which make them a great choice for those with sensitive skin.

We recommend washing PlushBeds Organic Cotton Sateen Sheet Set with machine wash warm or cold. Then, dry on low, and promptly remove them from the dryer for fewer wrinkles.

Earth Day falls on April 22, 2019. It represents a day when the world celebrates the planet together. In fact, the current belief is that more than one billion people from 195 countries around the world participate in Earth Day activities that involve both political action and civic participation in activities such as:

  • Drafting and gathering petition signatures
  • Cleaning up roads, lakes, and more
  • Meeting with elected officials to encourage change
  • Participating in fundraisers
  • Gathering pledges
  • Enacting sustainability measures in homes and businesses

Earth Day is a wonderful day and it helps to raise awareness about the health and preservation of our planet. But one day is not enough. Here are 22 simple things that you can do to show the Earth a little love all year long:

1. Plant wildflowers. It’s something simple that almost anyone can do, and fun enough that people of all ages will want to participate. Choosing native wildflowers allows you to use plants that are native to your area, and accustomed to environmental conditions, that might be problematic for other plants.

2. Pick up litter in a community park. Cities spend a lot of money maintaining local parks so children have safe places to play. Not all families who visit share your concerns over the planet, and many leave litter behind. Take this opportunity to clean up the litter in your community park.

3. Start a community garden. Creating green spaces within the city helps to clean the air, and provides fresh fruits and vegetables for your family. If you don’t need the vegetables your garden space produces, feel free to donate them to local food banks that are always happy for gifts of fresh produce.

4. Plant a tree. It made Johnny Appleseed a hero, and you can be one too. April 22nd is a wonderful day to do your part to replenish the dwindling population of trees around the planet.

5. Start composting. Composting provides dense nutrients and organic material to the soil, and eliminates much of the food and yard waste that clutters up landfills in communities throughout the country. While it isn’t an effortless task, it is one that pays huge dividends for the planet.

6. Open your windows. It’s one day a year when you can turn off your furnace or air conditioner (depending on where you live in the country), and throw open your windows to let the fresh air in. It’s an ideal solution for shaking off the final dregs of winter while bringing fresh, clean air into your home.

7. Create an upcycling project. The possibilities to upcycle are nearly limitless. Whether you visit a thrift store to take on a second-hand piece of furniture for the transformation process, go dumpster diving for treasures, or find road treasures in your community, there are plenty of opportunities to turn someone else’s trash into a treasure for your home and the planet.

8. Visit a local park. While cleaning up litter from a local park is great, some celebrations simply involve visiting the park and taking in the sights and sounds. Listen to children playing in the great outdoors. Hear the sounds of their laughter and enjoy the opportunity to commune with nature.

9. Make a rainwater collection barrel. Water is one of the most precious and wasted resources in the world. With much of the country in drought conditions, conserving water is not only a priority, but a necessity. Use collected water for things like watering gardens, washing cars, etc., saving clean water for cooking, drinking, and washing hands.

10. Come up with a water conservation plan for your family. In addition to building a rain barrel for your home, consider creating a water conservation plan for your household so your entire family can participate.

11. Go on a bicycle ride with the family. Instead of dragging out your car, SUV, or minivan to run errands for the evening, get out the bicycles and go for a ride together.

12. Make your own non-toxic cleaning products. Cleaning products often contain ingredients that are not only harsh for the planet, but also harsh for your family to breathe in. Try using natural ingredients, like baking soda, vinegar, hydrogen peroxide, lemons, and salt to create your own cleaning products. They are highly effective and easier on the sinuses.

13. Adopt a pet. Caring for the planet involves caring for the creatures that call it home. Adopting pets is the purr-fect way to show you care.

14. Gather electronics from friends and neighbors and deliver them to your community electronics recycling center.

15. Begin washing your clothes in cold water. This simple step can reduce a great deal of energy used to heat water each year. The more households that make the switch the better it becomes for the planet.

16. Go on a nature walk. Nature walks offer you an opportunity to commune with nature while enjoying pretty flowers, plants, trees, and animals along the way.

17. Hike in a state park. State parks are far too often underutilized despite offering an infinite playground of pleasure for nature lovers everywhere. Get reacquainted, and have a lot of fun on a hike.

18. Make a bird feeder. Feeding the creatures of the earth is a fantastic way to remember all the joy they bring.

19. Create a fairy garden. This is an activity your little fairy is sure to appreciate, and allows you to work on something positive for the planet together.

20. State a recycling bin. You can do this in your home, your office, your church, or your school. Anywhere that doesn’t have one needs someone to take responsibility for managing this important project.

21. Switch your bills to electronic bills. It’s a small step that conserves paper, and saves countless trees each year. Bonus: it helps you reduce paper clutter in your home.

22. Visit a national park. Few things allow you to commune with nature more than visiting one of our stunning national parks. You may have to drive a little to get there, but it is a trip well worth the time and effort. If you can’t go on Earth Day, make plans to visit one near you soon.

When we commit to earth-friendly acts every day, we can make a monumental impact and create a healthy, more sustainable future together.

During your search for the perfect mattress, you’re likely to come across certain terms that need further explanation. Plushness and firmness in mattresses may be among those terms. Read on to learn about the difference between a plush bed vs firm bed. It can help you make a wiser buying decision and get the best night’s sleep that you deserve.

What Is a Plush Bed?

Mattresses described as plush typically feel softer on the surface where you sleep. Many people describe slipping into plush mattresses as sinking into a luxuriously comfortable bed. They are suited for people who sleep on their sides, and suffer from pressure point discomfort while sleeping. The reason is simple. Plush mattresses cushion and cradle pressure points creating a softer sensation and less stress on the joints.

In other words, they cushion your body while you sleep, with the perfect amount of give, for a comfortable night’s sleep. Some back sleepers also prefer plush mattresses, but they require mattresses with firmer cores to provide the support their backs require, in order to maintain proper spinal alignment.

Stomach sleepers, however, rarely prefer plush mattresses. The sinking sensation can leave them feeling as though they are suffocating. And the mattresses force the spine to bend in strange positions. Firm mattresses are a better choice for stomach sleepers and many back sleepers.

What Is A Firm Bed?

Firm mattresses aren’t quite as soft as the plusher varieties. They are often referred to as providing exceptional support. While some people find them stiff and uncomfortable, stomach sleepers often find them a better choice. Firm beds help stomach sleepers maintain proper spinal alignment while sleeping, as do those who sleep on their backs.

Side sleepers sometimes struggle with firmer mattresses as they tend to irritate pressure points, leaving them aching and sore in the morning. While shoulders and hips are the most commonly complained of pressure points when it comes to firm mattresses, some people also complain about their knees. This can sometimes be relieved by placing a thin pillow between your knees while sleeping, regardless of how soft or firm your mattress may be.

What If You Choose The Wrong One?

In Web MD, Arya Nick Shamie, MD, associate professor of orthopedic surgery and neurosurgery at Santa Monica UCLA Medical Center states, “The mattress needs to support your body in a neutral position, one in which your spine has a nice curvature and your buttocks, heels, shoulders, and head are supported in proper alignment.”

“If the mattress is too firm, it will push on those main pressure points and take you out of alignment.” “If it’s too soft, those pressure points won’t be properly supported, so your whole body flops back.” Both of these scenarios can lead to an achy morning.”

We can see that finding the proper plushness and firmness is very important for your sleeping needs.

What If Your Partner Has Different Needs?

Most people spend weeks looking for a mattress that offers a balance of plush bed vs firm bed. It is hard enough to find the right fit for yourself, but when you add a partner into the mix, the search becomes more complex. Especially when your partner has different comfort expectations and preferences. That is, of course, unless you choose the right mattress.

PlushBeds Mattresses offer the rare combination of plushness to cradle pressure points and superior support for proper spinal alignment. These handmade mattresses offer buyers infinite customizability, so that each person can have their own preferred level of plushness or firmness, on each side of the bed.

One of the many things that set PlushBeds apart from other mattress makers is that you can change the level of firmness or plushness after you’ve purchased your mattress by adding or removing comfort layers.

PlushBeds does not glue mattress layers together in their Botanical Bliss Organic Latex Mattress, like so many other mattress makers. This gives you the option of adding and removing layers, as needed, to meet your unique comfort and support preferences. You can even have a different level of plushness and firmness on each side of the bed. This is a great option for couples with different comfort needs, where one prefers a plush bed vs firm bed and the other prefers a firm bed.

PlushBeds also offers a hybrid latex mattress that combines the plush feeling of luxurious organic latex with the superior, motion-isolating support of encased coils. The Luxury Bliss hybrid mattress does not offer the customizability of the Botanical Bliss mattress, but it does offer you a free 100 night trial, to see if it’s a good fit for your needs.

Your sleep position carries a lot of weight when it comes to the perfect mattress to meet your needs, but there is some degree of preference to consider as well.

Fortunately, with PlushBeds 100 night sleep trial, you have time to choose the mattress that fits your sleep needs best. Whether you need a plush bed vs firm bed, or a combination of the two, PlushBeds is sure to have a mattress that meets your needs for comfort and support.
