4 Stars - I Flipping Love You by Helena Hunting is the first book that I have read by this author and it won’t be the last. This is the 3rd book in the Shacking Up series but it can be easily read as a standalone novel.
I Flipping Love You was a great read. It is entertaining, amusing, charming and sexy. I liked how Pierce pursued Rian with gusto. Their first meeting wasn’t what you would call pleasant, so that along with Rian’s bad luck in choosing men, made her hesitant to get involved with Pierce. He was persistent though and eventually his persistence pays off.
The premise for, I Flipping Love You, is an interesting one. It centers around buying, selling and flipping houses in the Hamptons. Rian and her sister Marley find their paths intersecting with Pierce and his brother Lawson. This creates some tension and rivalry.
I liked Rian and Pierce and I liked them even more as a couple. Rian is a hardworking, take charge kind of woman. She speaks her mind and doesn’t take crap from anyone. I quite enjoyed her Gnome retaliation. Pierce is charming and confident. He has some career decisions weighing on his mind during the course of the story and I was happy with the route he took in the end. His pursuit of Rian was sexy and fun. He was determined to win her heart and I am happy to say that he does.
I recommend I Flipping Love You to fans of Contemporary Romance.
4 Stars - Eight Simple Rules for Dating a Dragon is the 3rd book in the Embraced series by Kerrelyn Sparks. This one features Gwennore , (Gwen) and Silas. Gwen ends up in enemy territory, Norveshki, after her niece Eviana is kidnapped by a dragon and Gwen grabs on as they take flight. The dragon is able to shake Gwen off but she is caught mid plunge by another dragon, one that doesn’t appear to have sinister intent. But can Gwen trust him? Gwen and Silas’s story is entertaining and interesting. I liked that Gwen didn’t fall into Silas’s arms. He had to woo her. It was amusing and endearing. We see another side to the Norveshki and I liked learning about its history and why they were at war. This is a story of danger, deception, enlightenment and romance. Silas works for peace for his people and Gwen discovers her ancestry and finally finds a place that she can call home. I thoroughly enjoyed Eight Simple Rules for Dating a Dragon and I look forward to the next book in the series.
4 Stars - Limits by Susie Tate is Pavlos and Millie’s story. Millie is a woman who suffers from severe social anxiety. She finds it extremely difficult to interact with others. To those around her it makes her seem cold and uncaring, spurring the nickname “Nuclear Winter”. She lives within limits that she has set for herself and believe she can only cope within those limits. Pavlos is an outgoing, vivacious, larger than life personality that helps bring change into Millie’s constricted world. With the urging of Pavlos and her new friends, Millie begins to gradually expand her limits.
I really enjoyed Limits. Millie and Pavlos story was fascinating, charming and endearing. My heart ached for Millie and the struggles she faced every single day. I loved seeing her slowly break out of her shell and start interacting with others. It wasn’t simple by any means and there were some setbacks. It took effort and patience, for everyone involved.
Limits touched my heart. Millie and Pavlos romance was a journey of hope, perseverance and love. It was a joy to see past characters such as Jamie, Libby, Rosie and Kira. They joined Pavlos in his quest to help Millie and they too became her champions.
I look forward to more books by Susie Tate.

4 Stars - Oh Trick, you sexy beast! If you’re a fan of the Phoenix Pack Series then you’re going to love Wild Hunger. Trick and Frankie’s story is fast paced, steamy, entertaining and endearing. Frankie was taken away from the pack, after the death of her parents, when she was 3 years old. I loved how Trick knew as soon as he looked into Frankie’s eyes, when they met again as adults, that she was his mate. There was no questioning it or denials, he was all in from the get go. Frankie grew up with humans so it took her a little longer to understand the signs but she, like Trick, accepted it and appreciated it. If you’ve read the previous books in the series, then you know that Trick is a wolf that has swung both ways, sexually speaking. That is brought up in the story and I can happily say that I didn’t have any doubt that Frankie was everything that Trick wanted and needed in a mate. He didn’t hesitate in addressing her fears and laying them to rest. Trick is a great hero, one of my favorites in this series. He was so good to Frankie, always supporting her and reassuring her. He’s a dominate alpha and you see that but he doesn’t bulldoze over Frankie. He’s considerate, caring, possessive, protective and oh so sexy. I liked how open he was, he didn’t keep things from Frankie. I really liked Frankie as well. She is strong, caring, witty and sarcastic. She has a thing against proverbs and I kind of agree with her there.
"That’s okay. I’m good at getting what I want. There’s more than one way to skin a cat.” Frankie’s brows snapped together. “Why would you want to learn even one way to skin a cat?”
Frankie has been lied to most of her life and had no idea that her Grandparents lied about what happened with her parents and that she was once part of a pack. Her Grandparent blamed the pack for the death of Frankie’s mother. I understood Frankie’s struggle in wanting to make both sides of her family happy. She had so many things thrown at her in this book, I was thrilled to see Trick there for her every step of the way. They were a perfect match. Wild Hunger is a great addition to The Phoenix Pack series. I highly recommend it.
4 Stars - When I read the blurb for this book, I knew I wanted to read it. I love a good older man with younger woman story and this one seemed right up my ally. So, I quickly borrowed it on Kindle Unlimited and began reading. Boy, did Birthday Girl really grab my attention. The writing style kept me completely engrossed. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I will say that it bothered me a little bit that Jordan was in a relationship with Pike’s son, Cole, when she started having feelings for Pike. What salvaged it for me was the fact that she and Cole were drifting apart and didn’t have any sexual contact beyond some kissing after she met Pike. I really liked both Jordan and Pike. I was rooting for them from the first meeting. Their chemistry was and attraction was undeniable as they both struggled to resist the pull. Pike was a strong and determined hero. He was protective and possessive towards Jordan. Much more than Cole ever was. I was glad when Cole was out of the picture. I understood the hesitation that Pike had in giving into his attraction to Jordan. After all, his son had had her first and he didn’t want to irreparably damage his relationship with his son. I liked how Jordan stood up for herself, especially since she had let herself be a pushover in the past. Pike and Jordan’s relationship was choked full of obstacles and challenges. It was sexy and romantic with moments to touch your heart and others to make you laugh. You couldn’t help but feel the connection. Their journey proved to be a true and enduring love story, regardless of the age difference.

4 Stars - School for Psychics is the first book in a new series by K.C. Archer. The story starts off with the main character, Teddy, trying to rectify a situation. One she got into after some poor decisions. Fortunately, help comes in the form of an offer to join the School for Psychics. Teddy just has to decide whether she will accept the offer or take her chances and attempt to solve her problems on her own. I really enjoyed School for Psychics. I found it to be engaging and interesting. I liked the main character Teddy. She isn't perfect, she has flaws and she knows it. She's cynical, a bit selfish, and has a difficult time opening up and trusting others. I liked that she took some steps in bettering herself in this book. I also enjoyed her interactions with the other characters. I am looking forward to seeing the progression of both the story and her character in future books.

3 Stars - Close Contact is the third book in the Body Armor series. This one features former MMA fighter Miles Dartman and his heroine Maxi Nevar. Miles and Maxi met in a bar and hooked up 3 times before she disappeared from Miles life, leaving him smarting and a little hurt. They both had felt a connection to the other but Maxi’s life was a mess and she was afraid to trust Miles and drag him into her problems. It’s not long before Maxi and Miles meet again when she flees to Body Armor, after some scary circumstances, and requests Miles as her body guard. It doesn’t take long for things to heat back up between Miles and Maxi as Miles works to keep her safe while trying to gain her trust and win her heart. I liked Close Contract. Miles and Maxi were likable characters and the mystery was entertaining. Though, I did figure out who the bad guy was shortly into the book. The cats were a fun aspect to the story and I like seeing Maxi take on the home and legacy of her Grandmother. All in all, Close Contract was, for me, a good read.

Shadows Strike by Dianne Duvall is the 6th book in her Immortal Guardians series. I love this series so I was really looking forward to this one and it didn’t disappoint. It’s a wonderful mix of engaging romance and action-packed excitement. In Shadows Strike, the battle with the powerful and elusive Other, Gershom, gets even more expansive and potentially apocalyptic. The action reaches a grand scale with multiple battles against large forces of enemies. The action scenes are well written and vividly portrayed. The danger and tension emanates from the pages. This was a story that once I got started, I didn’t want to put it down. But don’t worry, it’s not all action. There are plenty of moments where you can sit back and take a breath. The romance between Heather and Ethan is well developed and unfolds nicely within the story. It’s straightforward, sexy and sweet. A nice complement to the fast paced and in depth plot. Ethan is a century old Immortal Guardian. He’s been feeling isolated and lonely and is headed to David’s, where the Immortal Guardians tend to congregate, when he stops to fight a group of vampires. It’s during this fight that he comes across Heather and she ends up helping him defeat the vampires. Heather meanwhile, has been dreaming of the vampire attack and Ethan every night for the last year. So when it actually happens, she has a hard time believing it’s real. This made for a rather amusing meeting and thus begins their romance. Heather and Ethan were both decent and caring characters that you couldn’t help but like. Their interactions are interspersed with humor and heartfelt moments. I admit I was a little worried that Ethan would still be hung up on Lisette but that wasn’t the case. I never had any doubt in my mind that Heather was the one for him and that he wouldn’t trade her for anyone or anything. He still cares for Lisette but only as a friend. I really enjoyed Shadows Strike. It’s an interesting and completely engrossing story that will have you smiling one moment and biting your nails the next. I look forward to the next book as I’m anxious to read more of the ongoing story line. I’m hoping for Aidan’s story next, the ancient and lonely Celt who yearns and searches for a Gifted One of his own. I highly recommend Shadows Strike and the Immortal Guardians series to fans of paranormal romance. *The Immortal Guardians series contains ongoing plot lines so I recommend reading it in order.

4.5 Stars - Loved it! Tough Love by Lori Foster is the 3rd book in the Ultimate series. I have thoroughly enjoyed each book in this MMA series and this one is no exception. Tough Love focuses on Stack and Vanity. I have been looking forward to their story since the tension ramped up between them in the last book. In Tough Love we see that tension come to fruition. Vanity propositioned Stack in, Holding Strong, getting his attention and his agreement to be her date to Cannon & Yvette’s wedding, with the promise of no strings sex afterwards. This is all a ploy on her part to get him interested in her since she’s wanted him from the moment she met him and not just for sex, she has happily ever after in mind. Tough Love starts off with a sizzle and captured my heart from the very first page. I loved Stack and Vanity together. Their romance was a perfect combination of sexy, endearing and sweet. This one takes a step back from the MMA scene and focuses more on family and personal connections with a touch of danger mixed in. Vanity is a character who on the surface has it all but what she truly longs for is love, acceptance and family. She’s a wonderful heroine who’s not afraid to go after what she wants with everything in her arsenal. I really liked her and admired her determination. She’s warmhearted, independent and strong. Stack didn’t stand a chance once she set her sights on him. Not that he really wanted to resist. Stack is a great hero, one that endeared me from the very first page. He’s an Alpha male that manages to be sweet, protective and endearing. Vanity snuck up under his defenses and burrowed her way into his heart as he did to hers. Their romance is a wonderful tale from beginning to end. It’s steamy, romantic and funny. I loved it and I look forward to the next book. Holding Strong and the Ultimate series is highly recommended to fans of contemporary romance. For the best enjoyment I would advise reading this series in order, starting with the first book, No Limits.
