Neal's Yard Dairy selects and matures farmhouse cheese from the UK and Ireland. We work with about 40 cheesemakers. We visit them regularly to taste their cheese with them and select the batches we want to mature and sell.
Cheesemakers, cheesemongers and cheese lovers all descended upon Tom Calver and team at Westcombe cheddar last weekend for the annual farm visit and AGM of the SCA – or the Specialist Cheesemakers Association.
Each month we go on a 'Northern Run' travelling the North, from Staffordshire to Cumbria, Lincolnshire to Lancashire, visiting the farms of the cheesemakers we work with to taste and select the batches of cheese we want to sell to you. In this postcard from our most recent June trip, our cheese buyer Bronwen Percival gives the lowdown on the latest news from our cheesemakers.
Neal’s Yard Dairy’s biennial Science of Artisan Cheese Conference is coming up on 14-15 August, 2018. Every two years, over one hundred cheese makers, scientists, and members of the cheese industry gather at North Cadbury Court—home of Montgomery’s Cheddar—in Somerset for two days of presentations on topics related to artisan cheese.
For the month of May, enjoy FREE SHIPPING with all orders containing St James with code GOTTCHEESE. The current batches are the best we have ever tasted: flavours are malty and punchy towards the rind, with a milky freshness and tangy note coming from the paste.
