Planning a wedding can be an incredibly rewarding experience – but that doesn’t mean it’s an easy one. In fact, many, if not all, brides find themselves overwhelmed as they attempt to juggle their personal lives on top of planning one of the most significant events in their lives. That’s where the wedding party comes in. And to take point on the operation is the Maid of Honour, who can do quite a bit to make the bride’s life easier. Sometimes it can be difficult to know where to step in and how to help, however, which is why we’ve created this quick guide! Here are seven wedding planning tips for the Maid of Honour.

Listen to the Bride

Photo credit – Ben Yew Photography

Sometimes it can be so exciting being such a vital part of the wedding that you forget about the main planner – the bride. While you don’t have to plan your life around a wedding that isn’t your own, doing your best to support the bride is certainly within your power. Ask how you can help and really listen to the response. Together, come up with a game plan, then take action!

Start Planning Early

Many weddings are planned at least a year in advance. That means that you might have known you were going to take on the role of MOH for quite a while before the big day – it wasn’t a surprise, in other words. Don’t ignore the impending event. Get started early and begin planning your participation as soon as possible. This includes collaborating with the other bridesmaids to help ensure the bride gets everything she needs before the big day. Get a planner, or use wedding planning apps to schedule everything from bridal showers, bachelorette party, spa days, and even beauty sleep before the big day.

Prepare An Emergency Bag for the Wedding Day

Photo credit – Tobiah Tayo Photography

As MOH, be prepared for everything. Whether it’s a red wine stain on the wedding dress or a hair spray deficit, make sure you pack all of the emergency essentials. We recommend bringing a small carry-on with everything you may need; from tissues, perfume, bandaids, and sewing kits, to stain remover, in the event of an unlikely wedding or wardrobe disaster. Here’s a great emergency kit checklist to read through if you need ideas.

Master Wedding Admin

Become the master of admin during the wedding planning season. Make sure you keep a to-do list with the bride-to-be, help with addressing wedding invitations, keep a spreadsheet of who is attending the bridal shower, and help the bride and groom keep track of the gifts they receive. It’s easy to overlook the small details, but no task is too small. Your bride will likely rely on you to help keep things organized and make sure the long list of projects are being done on time.

Calm the Nerves

It’s normal for the bride to have the wedding jitters. You may be her go-to girl for advice, late-night chats, or even a wine night. It also might be a good idea to pack essential oils, or calming tea for the big day!

Delegate Wedding Related Tasks

Photo credit – Ben Yew Photography

Don’t expect to do everything on your own. It’s okay to pull in the rest of the wedding party if you need help. Task delegation may just be your best friend. On the day before, or of, the wedding makes sure that everyone has an assigned job so that you can focus on the bride during this special time. For instance, have one bridesmaid be in charge of bringing snacks and mimosas, while the other is making sure the groomsmen wake up on time — you will have enough on your plate!

Write an Epic Toast

Finally, make sure that you plan on giving a toast. As the MOH, you might be asked to give one and you want to have something meaningful and personal to say — if you’re the Maid of Honour, it’s likely that you have several memories and special moments to share with the crowd. Don’t leave it until the last minute so you have time to rehearse and get feedback. And don’t forget to bring tissues!

Being the Maid of Honour can be a big task, however, it is very meaningful and you should do it with pride. Be prepared, stay calm, and do your best, because who knows…the next person to need a Maid of Honour might just be you!

If you’re planning a destination wedding, why not consider one of the most romantic places on earth. Italy was the backdrop for the timeless love story of Romeo and Juliet, and its beauty, culture and lush landscapes are just some of the reasons this charming country could be the perfect place for your big day.

You’ll have your pick of elegant villas, extravagant castles, luxury hotels or even beach ceremonies. So if you want a truly unforgettable day, surrounded by all the wonder and romance this dreamy nation has to offer, Italy could be the right choice for you and your partner.

But if you’re still undecided, we’re here to help! Check out our guide below on just seven great reasons why you should get married in Italy.

Italy is the original land of love

There are so many reasons that Italy is equated with love and romance, not least of all because the classic love story Romeo and Juliet was set in Verona. But more than this, the Italian language is cloaked in love and as a nation, they whole-heartedly embrace and place great importance on love and family. This is a nation that oozes romance and the charming scenery would be the perfect backdrop to any wedding day.

You’ll find the perfect location to suit your style

From stunning countrysides and rolling hills to vineyards and A-list beaches, Italy has something for everyone, so you’ll be sure to find the perfect location for your big day. If it’s an intimate and quietly romantic ceremony you want, consider Tuscany, or for added wow factor head on down to Capri or the Amalfi coastline for hidden bays and crystal-clear seas.

But no matter where you choose to host your ceremony, the aura of romance floods the whole of the Italian nation and you’re sure to have an unforgettable day that your guests will be talking about long after they get back home.

The weather won’t disappoint

For the most part, Italy has beautiful weather (especially when you’re used to the colder temperatures and drizzly rain of the UK). The summers are hot and dry, and during the spring and autumn, you’ll also be treated to mild temperatures and blue skies. You could even opt for a winter wedding if that’s more you’re style, cosy up inside one of Italy’s many beautiful venues and your pictures will still be complete with crisp and clear blue skies.

Your day will be a treat for you and your guests

Your guests will be joining you in Italy, usually for a few days before and after the wedding. This means you can spend some quality time with them soaking up the beauty of Italy, enjoying great food and taking a break before the big day! You might want to arrange a spa day, wine tour or cooking class beforehand to truly make the most of your visit. Plus, you’ll have a day or two with them after the wedding to come down from the buzz of the day and share your highlights from the day with one another.

Don’t forget about the world famous food and drink

Photo Credit – Ed Godden Photography

Italy is famous for its delicious local cuisine. Think generous buffets of cured meats, cheese and salads, or freshly prepared pizza and pasta dishes for your main course. And all of this is completed with the handcrafted cakes table and the perfect glass of wine to match every meal choice. You really can’t go wrong with Italian food and you’re bound to settle on a delicious menu that will leave you wanting more!

The suppliers are just as great

It can be a concern when planning a destination wedding that you’ll struggle to find the suppliers to meet your needs. But all the vendors in Italy are just as good (if not better when it comes to authentic and talented Italian chefs!) so you’ll be able to find everything you need for your big day. This includes amazing florists, stylists, caterers and venues and you can always buy your dress online.

You can have your wedding and honeymoon in one!

Photo Credit –  Ed Godden Photography

Another huge advantage of getting married in Italy is that once the wedding is over and your guests have gone home, you can stay behind and enjoy your honeymoon with no extra travel required! That is of course unless you choose to change destinations. Italy has so much to offer that you might choose to move to a new coastal location or go inland to enjoy beautiful countryside walks and tours of the local vineyards. Whatever you choose, Italy’s beauty, food and culture make it a wonder destination for your honeymoon.

With spring in full bloom, it’s no wonder so many eager brides and grooms decide to tie the knot during this wonderful, blossoming season! The weather is pure perfection, there are a number of venues they can choose from, which means that open gardens, wineries, and churches are all an option. This, however, might make things a bit more complicated for you, their guest. However, you can rest assured that some of our finest suggestions will suit any occasion, any venue and any weather occasion.

Let’s take a look at several of the most effective, effortless and in-style outfits you can consider for your next wedding! Luckily, you can also mix and match some of the ideas found in each of these looks, so you can invent your own, entirely new and fresh style.

Go with a power suit in pastels

The attention given to power suits in recent years has not waned one bit, and this makes for an ideal opportunity to put together a classy suit in which you’ll feel mighty as well as comfortable. The popularity of the power suit has also brought on a whole slew of different designer solutions, so we no longer have to stick to dull greys and charcoal black. In fact, bright, creamy hues have stolen the spotlight to give that feminine touch even to the sharpest of dressers among you!

While a pair of fitted pants and a matching jacket in soft pink, lilac or even sunny yellow are a great option with plenty of room to play around with accessories, you can always opt for a pencil skirt, a crop top and a jacket as well. This one makes for a great choice for any weather and venue, as it’s easily adjusted with a scarf and different footwear.

Think boho thoughts

If the bride is into boho chic and the entire wedding will have a theme that is a spring, floral mood, then why not craft an outfit in the same spirit? With spring weather working in your favour, you can easily choose a mini or midi floral dress or even a maxi one! Textured skirts with a sheer layer also work wonderfully for these occasions, while a simple pastel blazer will keep you warm in case of any weather changes.

Mind the footwear, though, because the right shoes will transform the dress completely. For example, while those wonderful, Roman-style leather sandals are great for summer, you should still consult the forecast before you choose something so light. Heels with some fringe are a wonderful idea if you’re a true boho girl at heart!

Stick with classic elegance

With a wardrobe filled with cocktail dresses and pumps, you don’t have to go out of your way to reinvent the wheel – all you need is some inspiration to give your existing dresses a makeover and a fun twist with the right accessories! If you stick with practical as well as classy, then a leather tote bag is a must-have for a wedding. It’s a timeless addition to any outfit, plus, it will accommodate all of your necessities such as your phone, wallet, makeup and any other feminine items you cannot leave your home without!

With such an accessory in your hand, any little black dress (which you can absolutely rock to a wedding, by the way!) will instantly become a hit. Add a layered, colourful necklace, and a pair of curious shoes, and you’re all set. Of course, you can always go with an intriguing pattern for your cocktail dress, since a leather bag works with everything!

Opt for a retro vibe

Do you like polka dots, stripes, and bows? By all means, spring is all about playfulness and colorful solutions! In fact, your outfit will likely stand out from the crowd precisely because you go with a pin-up dress and a hairdo to match your mood. In a jazzy, swing mood? Go with a flirty swing dress in a single hue and a hairpiece instead of classic jewellery as a final touch.

Wrap dresses, pencil skirts with a high waist and classic button-down shirts, sheer details and belts or bows around your waist are all magnificent options for a vintage look that will make for a truly unique outfit. As long as you pay attention to the details such as your hairdo, accessories and makeup, a retro wedding outfit will be a splendid way to keep things versatile.

Although some looks are always in style and others come and go, these can be your go-to examples of how you can make the most of your wardrobe to nail a perfect spring wedding outfit in no time!

When you are planning for your wedding or somebody else’s, the most important part about the planning is the catering service. The food aspect indeed needs to be perfect at a wedding. Besides the décor and the venue, food is the aspect that most people look up to. Good food can make or break your reputation amongst the guests at the wedding. You might be spending a lot of your money on the catering service, hence always choose the best. There is an array of options from which you can choose one wedding food catering company. Take a look at the qualities that all the wedding food catering services have…

Easy To Talk To:

This is the most vital thing that should not be ignored while choosing a catering service. At your wedding, you may have several expectations regarding the cuisines. Thus, make sure that you are able to freely express yourself to the caterer. There should be a friendly relation between the two of you. Only then you can tell him what you want, and he will give you an honest opinion.

Photo credit – Hayley Savage Photography

Provides various options depending on your budget:

The ideal wedding food catering company is not the one that provides you with the cheapest option or an expensive one. In fact, the ideal company will provide you with the best options that will suit your budget. They offer you with a vast menu to choose from. Thus, you can decide the cuisine or dishes as per your preference and budget. In this way, you will get the best deal that fits your budget.

Photo credit – Rebecca Yale Photography

Offers to taste before selection:

At your wedding, you definitely want the best food for your guests. You don’t want a blunder on that day. Thus, it is always a better idea if you taste the food items that are going to be served on the wedding day. You can make changes as per your taste later. You will also come to know about the good quality that the wedding food catering company is offering. There are a few companies that don’t give this option. Thus, clear out this thing before you finalize anything.

Photo credit –  Hayley Savage Photography

The speciality of the company:

There are a few caterers that specialize in desserts whereas a few specialize in the main course. Few companies have expertise on all of it. Thus, discuss with your caterer about his speciality. You might discover new dishes that you can put up on your wedding menu. At times the catering company may not be good at the cuisine you want, thus this is the first question you should ask wedding food catering service provider.

Photo credit – Rebecca Yale Photography

Attention for minute details:

In any event, the small details are never to be missed. You as a client would have various preferences in your mind. He should note down the things that you want and give service in an exact manner. At large events like weddings details play an important role. The way he serves the food or the way the food is presented is quite important. Hence choose a caterer that gives due importance to detail.

Photo credit –  Hayley Savage Photography

Creative and experienced:

Choosing an experienced wedding food catering company has its own benefits. When they have been working in the industry for a long time, they will know to work around things well. If by any case, there is an issue they will be able to handle without affecting anything. They should also be creative with the presentation as well as the dishes. In a wedding, creativity is appreciated the most.

These are the qualities the wedding caterer you choose must have.

Whether you’re in the midst of wedding planning or are just about to start, congratulations on your upcoming big day! The next adventure of your life is about to begin, and that’s an exciting position to be in. With that being said, you might find yourself getting slightly overwhelmed when it comes to the wedding planning itself. Don’t worry—you’re not alone. Many people find themselves tense as they try to plan the perfect day. Let’s take a look at some of the best ways to eliminate the stress of planning your big day!

It’s Not All About the Wedding

While it might seem like it, your life does not revolve around this wedding. Try to live your life as normally as possible outside of the planning process. That includes keeping standing dinner-dates with your significant other or friends. If you come to a point where everything feels overwhelming, try to ground yourself in the routine and the mundane. Planning the perfect wedding might be important, but so is your sanity.

Photo credit – Ben Yew Photography

Get Plenty of Sleep

When you’re planning a big event, especially as the big day draws near, it can be tempting to stay up late and wake up early. Resist this urge. While it’s true that you could spend three more hours at night finalizing the seating arrangement, it’s equally true that those hours would be much better spent in bed. When you lose too much sleep, you become more susceptible to anxiety. And given everything that’s going on in your life, do you really need that added risk? Don’t skip your sleep, even if it seems like a good idea at the time.

Photo credit – Hayley Savage Photography

Remove External Stressors

While life has a way of throwing curveballs our way, some of the hits are easy to predict. What are your main stressors in life beyond wedding planning? Many people find that broken appliances, for example, quickly raise their blood pressure. Give your home a good once-over and delegate any home repairs so that they aren’t unexpected and on your plate. The concern over the added expense can be a bit too much to bear sometimes.

Photo credit – Rebecca Yale Photography

Divide and Conquer

You’re not marrying yourself, so where is your partner while you’re planning? It seems common for one partner to shoulder more of the planning and preparations than the other, but it’s a better idea to split the work. It might be best to each focus on your own family. Allow your significant other to deal with their family’s concerns and objections while you handle yours, and you can both come together to find solutions. This helps you avoid some of the more common family squabbles that seem to pop up when weddings are involved.

Are you ready to plan the wedding of your dreams? Don’t worry! Sit down, breathe, and approach the situation calmly. It might seem overwhelming, but this is nothing you can’t get through. Focus on what really matters and create a day that you and your significant other will love.

There is no need to emphasize the importance of looking perfect on your wedding day. However, the final, glowing look cannot be achieved in just a week. The best time to start preparing yourself for the wedding is as soon as you get the engagement ring.

A year before the wedding

If you want to eliminate the possibility of spots and pimples appearing on your face on your special day, start nurturing your skin at least 12 months before the wedding. Book an appointment monthly. Make sure you choose a skilful and knowledgeable cosmetician who uses quality products. These monthly facials will result in porcelain skin which will glow on your wedding day.

Unless you are already a regular member of the gym, now it is time to start working out. You want to fit in that dress and show off perfectly toned arms. Also, if you want to get rid of a few extra pounds, now it is time to start watching what you eat. If you decide to lose weight shortly before the wedding, you will have to go on a restrictive diet. That is not very healthy and it can be very stressful.

Photo credit –  Hayley Savage Photography

8-6 months before the wedding

No matter which hairstyle you choose for your big day, it will not hide damaged and neglected hair. Therefore, start taking really good care of your hair. Invest in some quality hair products which you will use regularly. Pay a monthly visit to a hairdresser who will give your hair a professional treatment.

Photo credit –  Ben Yew Photography

3-6 months before the wedding

By now, you have probably chosen your wedding dress and started thinking about what your hairstyle and makeup will look like. You might have noticed that eyebrows are a big thing now and that most of the brides and celebrities choose microblading instead of filling their brows in with a pencil. The simple reason for that is that microblading gives you perfectly shaped, natural-looking eyebrows that won’t come off if you get wet or sweaty.

The best time for microblading is a couple of months before the wedding. Your microbladed brows are usually too dark and swollen immediately after the treatment. Microblading requires a healing period, which is 4-6 weeks long. After the healing period, your brows will fade a little and take their final shape.

Microblading is a semi-permanent treatment, which means that your microbladed brows will last 2-3 years. Therefore, you need to carefully choose an artist who will perform the treatment. Make sure your artist has completed a high-quality microblading training, has a certificate and a lot of experience. Do some research, ask around, check all the salons in your area and look for before and after pictures online. If you choose your artist wisely, you can be sure that nothing will go wrong.

Photo credit – Matt Parry Photography

2 months before the wedding

Naturally, you want a pearly smile in all those wedding photos. Consider whitening your teeth. The procedure is quite common and painless. Book an appointment two months before the wedding, because you might require more than one visit for the perfect outcome.

Teeth whitening is something you can also do at home since there are whitening gels that you can buy in a drugstore. However, not all of them are equally effective, so ask for some recommendations.

Photo credit –  Hayley Savage Photography

1 month before the wedding

Your hands and feet must always look well-maintained, but you have to give them a special treatment to complete the immaculate wedding look. Book a mani-pedi treatment one month before the wedding, then repeat it shortly before the big day.

Also, if you haven’t chosen your makeup artist by now, start looking for one. Check out all the reputable artists in your area. Compare their works and prices. Pick a couple of favourites and schedule some trials.

Photo credit – 37 Frames The final week

If you start preparing on time, you will avoid the stress of the final week before the wedding. Leave this week for some small correction. If you want eyelash extensions, the best time to get them is a few days before the wedding. Do the pre-wedding makeup and hairstyle trial.  Make sure you get enough sleep and avoid fast food and alcohol. Go to the spa in order to relax and refresh. Book a massage appointment. Spoil yourself a little bit and you will be glowing on your big day.

Months are spent on planning the perfect winter wonderland wedding – from choosing the date, the invitation list and the decorations to thinking about the clothes and accessories, these thoughts consume the bride’s every waking moment. But in the midst of all the planning and organizing, the bride often forgets the most important thing to take care of – herself. Winter can take a big toll on your whole body, especially the skin, which makes a proper skincare routine a crucial part of any winter bridal preparation. So, here are the best winter skincare tips for brides-to-be…

Cleanse and exfoliate

In order to keep your skin glowing and youthful, start your routine by using a gentle cleanser that will help open up your pores and allow your skin to breathe more easily. Follow up by using an exfoliator that will get rid of the dead skin cells, unclog your pores and allow your skin to absorb the products you apply after more easily. Make sure to exfoliate only once or twice a week using a mild product, as harsh exfoliation can irritate the skin and cause tightness, redness and even breakouts – none of which you’d want to have to deal with on your wedding day.

Photo Credit – Ben Yew Photography

Moisturise often

Transitioning from the cold, windy air outdoors to dry heater air indoors can wreak havoc on your skin and lead to dryness and dehydration. Always opt for more hydrating skincare in winter, such as thicker, heavier balms and creams, in order to seal all your skincare in and protect your skin from harsh winter elements. Moisturizing twice a day will also help lock in the moisture into your pores, making your skin hydrated, soft and supple.

Photo credit – Tobiah Tayo Photography

Always wear sunscreen

During the winter, you are most likely getting much more sun exposure than you realize, which is why sunscreen is just as important during the colder months as it is when you’re lying on the beach. If you are not using an SPF of at least 30 every day of the year, any other skincare products you apply become a waste of money, because not even the most advanced formulation can help your skin if it’s damaged in the sun. Always remember that sun damage affects your skin regardless of the season and that the worst skincare habit is unprotected sun exposure.

Photo Credit – Ben Yew Photography

Treat problematic skin

If you have problematic skin, the best idea would be to treat it as best as you can during the months leading up to the wedding, in order to have a flawless complexion on your big day. One of the most common problems women are faced with, regarding their skin, is discolouration. Whether it is sensitive skin that is prone to irritation or exposure to the sun for long periods of time, skin discolouration can be caused in many ways, but it also has a simple solution. The best way to tackle this problem is to invest in quality skin lightening products that get rid of discolouration and even out your complexion quickly and easily.

Photo credit – Tobiah Tayo Photography

Avoid hot showers

While it may be tempting to get out of the winter cold and hop into a warm shower or bath, do so sparingly, for the sake of your skin. Prolonged exposure to hot water will rob your skin of moisture, chap it and dry it out. That is why you should always avoid scalding hot water when you are showering and opt for a lukewarm temperature instead, which is far less likely to dry your skin out. When you’re finished with your bath, be sure to slather moisturizers or body oils all over your body, in order to keep your skin soft and supple.

Photo Credit – Ben Yew Photography

Don’t forget the rest of your body

Your face isn’t the only thing that is starving for moisture during the winter months. If you have dry elbows and itchy skin, products that are rich in ingredients like jojoba oil and argan oil will keep your skin healthy and moisturized throughout the colder months. Get rid of the dry skin on your heels using a pumice stone and keep your hands and feet soft by massaging olive oil on them before going to bed at night. In order to look beautiful and radiant on your wedding day, you need to take care of every part of your skin.

Photo Credit – Ben Yew Photography

Visit a local spa

This step isn’t absolutely necessary, but if you want to take some time off from all the wedding stresses and enjoy a relaxing massage, while getting the best facials and skin treatments, then you should consider taking a trip to the local spa for some much deserved self-care time.

Photo Credit – Ben Yew Photography

If you follow these simple skincare tips, there is no denying you will be beautiful and radiant on your big day – you will look and feel like a million bucks. But the best advice would be to stay happy, because the brightest glow is the one that shines from within.

When you’re executing your meticulous plans for the perfect wedding day, as a perfectionist (which most people become when they’re about to tie the knot), you have to think of absolutely everything. First of all, there is the picking of the perfect venue that coincides with your personal style, the décor and ambience, perfectly coordinated outfits for the bride and groom, not to mention the groomsmen and bridesmaids. Then, there are the logistical matters – what kind of wedding feast you want, sit-down, buffet, family style? On top of that, there is the scouting for the perfect band that will have everyone on their feet, as well as the search for the best photographer who will catch the beautiful and candid moments. Finally, there is the devil in the details – the little details themselves.

The wedding bouquet, hair and makeup, something borrowed and blue, something new, and in the end, something fragrant. Yes, when people walk into the venue, they would like to be washed over with gorgeous scents – scents have the power to elevate the mood, evoke beautiful feelings, and they are practical as well as they can neutralize any unpleasant smells. Incorporating a touch of fragrance into your wedding is a major detail, but worry not, we have got you covered with subtle yet gorgeous ways to do it.

Him and her

The most important people who need to smell absolutely divine are the two of you. Now, you can each go with your already established signature scents, or you can take a trendy route and go for coordinated bespoke couture fragrances. Not only is this one of the wonderful ways for the two of you to be coordinated, but it also shows a sense of unity, which people will definitely feel as you’ll be doing a whole lot of hugging.

A fragrant send-off

You know how people used to throw rice at weddings? Well, that’s a rare occurrence nowadays. Now, a much more photogenic, not to mention chicer and more fragrant way of doing this part of the ‘wedding protocol’ is to throw flower petals. Fragrant roses are the obvious choice as they are easy to get, they look wonderful, and if you choose them in a few different colours, it will make for a spectacularly colourful moment that won’t just be fragrant-filled, but will make for killer photos as well.

Photo credit – Sarah Lauren Photography

Follow the trends

In the ‘olden days’ – and we use this term loosely, centrepieces and fine china were enough to impress your guests. The wedding décor game has been taken up a notch, so there is a lot more going on on the tables these days. One of the major trends that luckily does exactly what you want it to do, is placing wonderfully scented candles on the tables, usually around the centrepieces. Make sure you choose a scent that is refreshing and not overpowering, so that everyone feels it, but doesn’t feel smothered by it. In addition, pick thicker candles and taller candles as they look way classier than little short ones. Finally, the colour should mesh with the overall colour palette, but that shouldn’t pose an issue given that scented candles come in a variety of colours and you’ll be able to pick the ones that will perfectly mesh with everything else.

The obvious choice

When picking out your centrepieces, instead of just going for flowers that look good, make it your mission to find truly amazingly fragrant ones. They won’t be able to spread and ‘own’ the room – only those sitting at the tables will be able to feel the gorgeous scents, but together with scented candles, you will have a winning combination. Bonus tip: when choosing both the flowers and the candles, make sure the fragrances mesh. You don’t want clashing scents that will create a hot mess, so to speak. Coordination is everything, so don’t take this task lightly.

Going all the way

If you really want to make a luscious statement, you will walk the extra mile and even have fragrant save-the-date cards and invitations sent out. This is definitely one of the classiest touches, but a pricy one as well. So, before you dive into the fragrant invitation section, make sure you have the budget for it.

Indeed, there are tons of ways for you to ‘sneak in’ your favourite scents without people noticing anything but the dance and meshing of the pleasant scents. You can incorporate one or two ideas, but even going with all of them won’t be too much, trust us. In this case, more is more.

If you’ve been to a lot of weddings, then you know they can get a little wild. From décor and food to the wedding dress itself, often things are very big, flashy, and over-the-top, and a lot of couples delight in that kind of dramatic flair. And you know what? That’s great. It’s your wedding, and if you want it to be a grand spectacle, that’s something that should only be encouraged. However, with the recent trends, a lot of brides are actually looking for something simpler. Minimalism is becoming popular again, and if you’re not the kind of couple who likes to make a big fuss, it could be just the kind of direction to take for your big day.

Of course, simple doesn’t mean boring in any way, and if you want to embrace minimalism there are plenty of ways to do it and still make everything look entirely lovely and special. Wondering how to organize your wedding and keep it all sleek and elegant? Then take a look at our tips.

Venue

You don’t need a huge, spacious venue if you’re not inviting a lot of guests—it’s only going to look awkward and sparse. The size of the location is an important aspect, and for a minimalist wedding, the only other thing you need to worry about is the atmosphere it can offer you. Can the lighting give you that romantic ambience that will relax everyone and make you all seem closer? Are the acoustics good enough to help carry the music through the whole room? Anything from a barn house to a ballroom works, but make sure there aren’t too many tacky adornments spread around. Keep it simple with a few flower arrangements and candles spread on every table.

Design

While there’s no need to eschew colours completely, you want to keep it simple and use a good base—cream, white, dove grey, or even black if you want something a little unusual. Pair this with one brighter colour of your choice and make everything match that theme. Solid-colour tablecloths are a good way to make things look elegant, and you can break the monotony by using luxurious dishes and cutlery to bring in a bit of sparkle. Organic accents or copper and brass details can also be a great idea.

Bouquet and Dress

People are usually surprised to see a simple bouquet, but it generally thrills everyone just because it looks so beautiful. Make sure there’s plenty of greenery, but otherwise stick to only one colour. It’s on you whether this colour will match the rest of the décor in the room, or be something totally new and unusual, the only stand-out. It’s also totally okay to have different kinds of flowers. For example, roses, peonies, and hydrangeas can all be pink, so you’ll be sticking with the theme.

Elegance lies in simplicity. If you take a look at the wedding dresses of real-life royalty, you’ll realize that Meghan Markle, Kate Middleton, and Princess Eugenie all wore dresses that had clear, solid cuts, and yet were completely spectacular. Minimalism can give your attire an aura of refinement, it can show that you don’t need much to stand out. Find yourself a beautiful Oleg Cassini wedding dress and pick a cut that accentuates your natural beauty above all else. Something like this is a marking of true taste and very clever fashion skills because you’re basically telling the world that you’re perfect in your gorgeous, raw beauty.

Accessories

Follow the theme of simplicity and keep your accessories subtle and understated. A pendant necklace or a headpiece with pearls and lace details could be more than enough, but you can also pick a shimmery brooch or a pair of diamond earrings that will show off your delicate ears. Keep the veil simple as well, but when it comes to the shoes, feel free to pick something classy and even a bit glamorous—here you’re totally allowed to have fun and pick a pair of stunning sandals that elongate your legs and make you feel sexy.

Cake

This is something people rarely remember to pay attention to, and yet it ties everything together nicely. The cake can be just as simple as the décor itself, and you can actually match the colours of it to the colours of the tablecloths, or other ornaments in the room. Besides, the only thing people will remember about the cake is its taste, so make sure you’re bringing something delicious to the table.

The easiest way to pull off minimalism is to simply trust your taste. You don’t need much to make things beautiful, especially not yourself, so simply find a few things that will enhance that.
