Galentine's Day Mask Haul - M Review 67

If you’re a part of the beauty community on Instagram, you’ve probably seen Huangjisoo products all over lately. They’ve quickly become popular because of their cruelty-free, natural skincare products suited for all skin types. Huangjisoo focuses on a small product line which includes a cleansing oil, several foaming cleansers, and 5 different sheet masks. Sheet masks are an absolutely must this time of year because of the harsh cold, so I chose 3 of the 5 masks to try for myself.

All Huangjisoo sheet masks use a 100% cotton cupra sheet, which adheres to the skin to provide deeper hydration. This type of sheet prevents essence from evaporating, ensuring that most essence is absorbed by the skin, and keeps the mask in place while wearing.  Each mask also contains Remella Fuciformis Extract (a.k.a. mushroom extract), which is said to help the skin retain more moisture than hyaluronic acid.

CENTELLA REPAIRING MASK:

The Centella Repairing Mask claims to help treat rough skin, irritation, and enlarged pores. It has a cream type essence and is supposed to be best suited for dry, sensitive skin types. The most notable ingredients are Centella Asiatica, Ceramide, and Matricaria Flower Extract (a.k.a German chamomile). Together these ingredients help to soothe inflammation and irritation, as well as moisturize and repair your skin barrier.

Normally, I tend to stay away from cream type sheet masks because they can be heavy for my oily skin, but recently the cold weather has left me with some dry patches. This mask smelled almost like cotton or clean laundry and the essence was on the thicker side. Application was easy and the mask fit well. I wore it for around 30 minutes and when I removed the sheet, it was almost dry. My skin absorbed the essence well, with no heavy feeling or sticky residue left afterward. My face felt plumper and baby soft. I didn’t have a lot of inflammation at the time, but I could tell my complexion looked less blotchy.

RED FRUITS BRIGHTENING MASK:

The Red Fruits Brightening Mask claims to help brighten skin tone and leave skin looking luminous. It has a liquid type essence and is best suited to those worried about uneven skin tone. The most notable ingredients are Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate, Acerola Fruit Extract, Malus Domestica (apple stem) Fruit Extract. The galactomyces and acerola work to brighten your skin, while the malus domestica works to repair your skin barrier.

Personally, I don’t have much of an issue with uneven skin tone, but rather dull looking skin. So, I was hoping the mask would leave me with a dewy glow. The essence had a lemony fresh scent that was pleasant, not cleaning product-esque, and was a liquid type as claimed but had a slight creamy texture. I wore it for around 30 minutes and the mask almost completely dry at the end. My skin had easily absorbed the essence, leaving me with deeply hydrated and smooth skin. I feel my skin had a glowing look to it afterward, but nothing drastic. Regular use of this mask would be needed to see lasting effects.

BRITISH ROSE HYDRATING MASK:

The British Rose Hydrating mask claims to soothe irritated skin and provide deep hydration. It has a water type essence and is supposed to be best suited for normal to dry skin. The most notable ingredients are Rosa Centifola (Cabbage Rose) Flower Water, Squalane, and Anthemis Nobilis (Roman Chamomile) Flower Extract. The rose water provides soothing hydration, while the squalane helps balance oil production and chamomile calms any irritation.

Most rose masks have an overpowering fake scent, but this mask smelled as if I were sniffing an actual bouquet! The essence was also watery as claimed, which was nice since other rose sheet masks I’ve tried have a thick, creamy essence. I wore this for around 30 minutes as I did for the other masks and out of all of them, this mask was the driest at the end because my skin just drank up the essence. My face felt deeply hydrated afterward without any feeling of heaviness or stickiness. Looking at the before and after, I feel as if my skin as a refreshed glow to it after.

Overall, I am incredibly impressed with these sheet masks and I’m so glad I gave them a chance! I loved the fit of these masks and how well they adhered to my skin. I think it play a big part in how hydrated my skin felt after use. Also, the ingredients in these masks fulfilled all my skincare dreams! In addition to the notable ingredients I mentioned before, each mask also included an array of nourishing plant extracts. I think the British Rose Hydrating Mask was my favorite because it best suited to my skins needs, but the others still showed great results. These masks are definitely suitable for all skin types and worth trying to give your skin a hydration boost!

Until the next one~

Sick of Acne? Let's go see Dr. Jart - M Review 66

One of my all time favorite mask material; microfiber! This is an ultra-fine microfiber sheet mask that targets breakouts and reduces appearances of scars and also uneven skin tone. There was an abundance of clear watery essence in the package that I applied to my face prior to the mask. The fit and adherence were both phenomenal. The only thing I had to adjust was the area between the eyes; I made a little slit on either side so it would lay flat against the bridge of my nose. There was no noticeable scent that I could detect; it is due to the lack of artificial fragrance! This mask is also formulated without parabens, sulfates and phthalates which could be irritating to some. This mask is perfect for anyone who has acne prone skin, abundance of blemishes, noticeable pores and uneven skin tone.

Finer than a strand of hair, this mask felt incredibly soothing and made for a relaxing masking experience. It came with a net backing for easier unraveling. I found this to be very helpful since the mask itself was so thin. This mask did not budge for the entirety of the 20 minutes that I wore it for before it started to dry.

After removing the mask, I noticed that a ton of the essence have already absorbed. I tapped in whatever else was leftover and the mask dried down to a comfortable satin finish. I found that this mask offered more clearing, brightening and balancing mask than a hydrating one. Prior to masking, my skin was dull and noticeably red. After masking, my pores were smaller and my face was soothed.

So my friends with acne prone or oily skin would enjoy and benefit the most from this mask. For my normal/dry skin type friends, a layer of moisturizer after this mask would bring in just the right amount of moisture to end your skincare routine for the day.

Don't Wait to Fall in Love this Valentine's Day - M Review 65

As we are approaching Valentine’s Day, love is in the air and it couldn’t be sweeter! It’s the time of the year when couples express their love for one another and when flowers and chocolates are flying off the shelves. However, whether you have a significant other or just living the single life, it is the perfect time to treat your partner or even just yourself to some love and care. Valentine’s Day shouldn’t just have to revolve around romantic love for someone else but love for yourself as well!

Looking forward to the season of love, I thought, “What better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than to indulge myself with some new skincare products?” To fit the theme of this day, I’ve been trying out Skin&Lab’s new line of “Red” products, which includes a serum and a cream. Initially, I fell in love with the red packaging as well as their red ingredients, which I will get to later. The serum and the cream are both priced at $35 on masksheets.com, which I think is a reasonable price. Now, to get to how these guys made me fall in love.

[Skin&Lab] Red Serum

The Red Serum was the first product from Skin&Lab that I’ve tried. Serums are personally my favorite part of skincare since they are highly concentrated and target specific needs and concerns. The serum itself is very lightweight yet slightly viscous; I loved how it absorbed nicely into my skin without a heavy feeling. A majority of the ingredients in this serum include fruit and berry extracts, such as pomegranate, blueberry, acai, raspberry, cloudberry, and wolfberry. Wow that’s a lot of berries! These antioxidant-filled ingredients, alongside adenosine, provide an anti-aging function that protects and the skin from signs of aging caused by free radicals.  The serum also contains Chinese matrimony vine (how fitting) and niacinamide to help brighten the skin. Additionally, the product would be suitable for sensitive skin since it is non-comedogenic and doesn’t contain any toxic ingredients.

So far, I’ve been loving this serum as part of my everyday night routine. My skin initially feels very soft and deeply hydrated without feeling heavy or sticky. My favorite aspect about the serum is that it makes my skin look ageless; the antioxidants in this serum brings back life to my skin with its rejuvenating properties. It helps tighten the appearance of my fine lines and wrinkles while giving my skin a youthful plump. Dark spots and blemishes gradually lighten, and there is a healthy glow to my skin that I’ve been especially loving for these colder months. Overall, I’ve fallen in love with this serum (probably more than I have with a boyfriend) and will continue to use it to see further results.

[Skin&Lab] Red Cream

The Red Cream is the perfect match for the accompanying serum. Think of this cream as the Red Serum’s partner in love. The cream holds everything together and boosts the effectiveness of the serum. However, the cream has its own charms as well, implementing some different ingredients of its own. Much of the antioxidant-filled berry ingredients are infused in this cream as well. However, the cream incorporates damask rose extract and rose stem cell to provide even more antioxidants to the skin. The rose also adds an aromatic dose of hydration to the skin that revitalizes and keeps the skin soft and supple.

The combination of the Red Cream with the Red Serum is like a power couple. The cream, much like the serum, provides my skin an ample boost of soothing hydration. However, with its gel-cream formulation, it doesn’t feel heavy or sticky on the skin, and I haven’t noticed it clogging up my pores. It also brightens my skin and helps even out my redness and dark spots. Supplemented with the serum, this cream aids in improving my fine lines and wrinkles. I love being a little extra generous on my forehead, smile lines, and neck to keep everything looking plump and tight. My skin definitely feels a lot bouncier and softer after using it. Overall, I have grown to love this cream just as much as the serum.

Breakdown of [Skin&Lab] Red Line:

Filled with antioxidants to regenerate the skin
Recommended for sagging, aging, or stressed skin
Firming and plumping
Lightweight, soothing hydration
Revitalizing for a brighter and glowing complexion
Suitable for all skin types

I think Skin&Lab has created the perfect duo with these two products. These antioxidant-filled products, incorporating red ingredients, are must-haves if you are looking for something that is anti-aging, hydrating, and brightening. I think that all skin types can use these products without any sensitivity issues.

If you’re looking for something for your Valentine or want to treat yourself to some love, I think this the perfect skin-loving gift you can get! The Red line of products fits perfectly into the Valentine’s Day vibe and captures the essence of love for someone else as well as yourself. Whether you buy it as a pair or just want to try out one of them, you will not be disappointed. If you buy this couple together on masksheets.com, you will also receive free shipping! If you have tried this product, comment down below on your thoughts or whether you’ll be gifting this to someone special or yourself!

The best peeling item for sensitive skin: Neogen Pore Tightening Peeling Mousse - M Review 64

Hani

I’ve only tried a few Neogen products and I’m happy to report that they have all been positive experiences for me! This Neogen Pore Tight Peeling Mousse is no exception. Before we get into what’s inside the can, let’s give a quick moment of appreciation to the design of the packaging. It’s simple yet elegant. I love the color and how the gradient in the color just ties the whole look together.

This product dispenses out of the pump as mousse foam; incredibly light and airy with a touch of fresh scent to it. At first when I read the name, I assumed it was something you waited to dry on your skin before peeling off. However, after reading instructions (as you always should!), I learned that this is a gentle exfoliating mousse that requires you to massage throughout the skin.

(Before)

First ingredient on the list is Algae Extract! This is an incredibly beneficial substance due to its protective properties. In skincare, this antioxidant agent protects your skin from environmental damages that can cause premature aging. It is also a nutritional compound; filled with great minerals to draw toxins out of your pores. To top it off, it also hydrates and softens your skin.

Instructions say to shake well to properly mix the product within the can. On dry hands and face, we are to dispense the product and apply it to our face. Next, rub thoroughly and massage the product into your skin until it completely disappears. You’ll notice a ton of black particles start to form on your skin. It looks scary, but don’t be too worried, it’s just the mousse pilling into these solid substances that effectively and most importantly, gently, exfoliates your skin!

Don’t let the “tight peeling” in the name scare you off; even though this product does contain alcohol, my skin was far from dry and tight. I was honestly amazed at how smooth, soft and glowing my skin was left after I rinsed everything off. I couldn’t stop touching my face! It was that soft. Upon closer inspection, my pores appeared smaller and my skin tone overall just looked more even. I definitely have to give this product a two thumbs up; it met my expectations and more.

-

Lisa

I have been using peeling gels to exfoliate because I feel like they are a lot more gentle for my skin compared to scrubs itself. The Neogen Pore Tight Peeling Mousse is a lot like peeling gels that I have been using but in a mousse form.

The Pore Tight Peeling Mousse comes in a can with a pump that releases a light airy mousse to rub onto your skin to help with the removal of dead skin cells. The mousse is white, and when you spread it around your skin, you can see the removal of the dead skin cells with the grey pills that it forms on the skin. When I tried it on my hand compared to my face, it definitely pilled more on my face, which is how I knew the product was working because my face needed it more.

The main ingredient used for the Pore Tight Peeling Mousse is Algae Extract, which is beneficial for the skin because it helps draw out toxins to condition, hydrate, soften, and detoxify the skin/

Before using the product, I have had dry skin, which made my makeup application a little hard because I had dry spots around my cheek area since the air in my area has been super dry. After using the product for a little over a week, I already see how it has helped with the dry spots on my face and it leaves my face feeling clean and refreshed without feeling stripped.

Overall, I am glad that I was able to incorporate this into my skincare routine. Although it does have a fishy scent to it, it's not too strong and the scent goes away after washing your face.

Paige

Before we get into it, I want to tell you my story first. I used to exfoliate with scrubs every single day a few years ago. There are many types of products to remove dead skin, and physical scrubs are the strongest. In this case, you are not supposed to use it 7 times a week! But I didn't know that. My skin got irritated more and more and I couldn't get rid of my pimples as well. It was so terrible!

So, I did research and changed my skincare routine. I don't use scrub products on my face anymore. I prefer to remove the dead skin by using AHA/BHA products because they are better and gentler than others, and I rarely have pimples now. I know there are a ton of causes for pimples, so I can't say changing the way that I exfoliated was the only solution, but I think it played a huge role.

Now, let's talk about the Neogen Pore Tightening Mousse. Actually, I knew this item from a while ago but I was hesitant because I have not used this kind of exfoliator. However, I was wondering why people love this product so much, so I bought it!

Yes. I was surprised. It works! The most important thing for me when I remove dead skin is not to irritate my skin. I think the mousse texture is good for that reason. And it's fun to use!

To see how well it works, I tried using it twice a day. I used it after washing my face and then used it one more time for half of my face only, so I can compare. At first, I saw a lot of black particles! I don't wanna admit that they were from my face... Right. I was shocked. I washed my face carefully and removed all the makeup with proper makeup removers every day, however, I felt like I had a lot of dirty things on my face. After using Neogen Pore Tight Peeling Mousse, my face got super soft!

As I said, I was curious and wanted to see if the black particles would come out again after peeling, so I used it again right after using the mousse. I was not able to see as many as the first time. Comparing the two sides of my cheeks, I could tell a difference. The side that I applied it twice was much softer, but I think one time is just enough to have soft skin.

The thing I was surprised at is that it doesn't irritate my skin at all! For some reason, every time I try products for pores, I get some problems on my face like itchiness, pimples, redness, etc. So I don't really like to use pore-care products, but this one never irritates my skin. It's so good! I have any issues after using it, even when I used it twice a day! If you have sensitive skin, and you want a gentle exfoliator that will also take care of your pores at the same time, this is the one you’re looking for!

Lunar New Year Special: Good Fortune and Happiness from Masksheets - M Review 63

Lunar New Year is here! For a lot of people, that means festive ornaments, receiving red envelopes, and spending quality time with family. Even if you don’t personally celebrate this holiday, it’s a good time to look forward to bringing success and prosperity going into the new year. Part of this can be looking after your health and well-being, as well as your skin! So, for Lunar New Year, I will be reviewing some products that you can get a hold of and share with your loved ones.

[Innisfree] Olive Real Serum Ex.- Nourishing & Hydrating

During this time of the year, my skin has transitioned from being oily to being combination, so it has been feeling a lot drier from the cold weather. Innisfree’s Olive Real Serum isn’t anything new to the K-Beauty market, but it is an underdog amongst the brand’s numerous product lines. Olive oil isn’t just for cooking! If you have even drier skin than me and suffer from dry, dehydrated skin, you might have found a product to help you out.

This serum is super nourishing and delivers intensive moisture. The serum feels creamy, but it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. Enriched with olive oil, it provides an ample amount of moisture that reinforces the skin’s barrier. Other ingredients like tocopherol, vitamin E, and oleic acid also replenishes the skin’s moisture level, increases the skin’s elasticity, and strengthens its barrier. So, if you’re looking for a highly nourishing serum to combat dehydrated skin, give this product a try!

[JM Solution] Glow Luminous Flower Firming Mask - Anti-Aging & Hydrating

This mask is another must-try for people dealing with dehydrated skin that can also  translate to sagging or tired skin. The Flower Firming Mask is great in that it is an instant boost of hydration with skin tightening capabilities. The packaging is pretty and the scent is amazing if you like floral, rose scents. The sheet itself is fine and thin, but it locks in the essence well into my skin.

Infused with rose water, lavender flower extract, and cherry blossom extract, this mask is a floral powerhouse in that it leaves my skin feeling deeply hydrated. I noticed that it left a beautiful glow to the skin that lasted the next day. My skin also appeared a bit brighter and revitalized with luminosity. To my surprise, this mask also contains three types of hyaluronic acid, meaning 3x more hydration! This left my skin feeling plumped with moisture. I also noticed that the mask contains peptides, which work to promote collagen production. In that sense, it helps further plump the skin for a more elastic, resilient, and youthful appearance. I think this would be an awesome gift to treat yourself to or one of the women in your life!

[Jayjun] Purple Fragrance Mask - Moisturizing & Brightening

Now, I know what you’re thinking. “Fragrance?! Nope, not for me.” Don’t be alarmed about the name because it can be very misleading to skincare junkies. There is actually no added fragrance in this sheet mask. Rather, the “fragrance” is more like aromatherapy, which is derived from the natural flower extracts in this mask that help brighten and hydrate your skin. The packaging is elegant and it is definitely a pleasant treat for someone that needs some relaxation from a stressful, tiring day.

The mask contains a variety of floral extracts such as agave americana, althaea rosea flower, geranium flower, and much more. They all contribute to the aromatherapy aspect about the mask. A lot of these floral ingredients, along with niacinamide, help brighten your complexion as well. So not only did I feel a relieving sense of hydration, but I also noticed my complexion looking more even and revitalized. So, I would recommend giving this mask a chance if you were initially taken aback by the name. It’s simply flower power!

[Jayjun] Vita Snow Capsule+ - Brightening, Clarifying, Hydrating, Anti-Aging

If you’re looking to spoil someone with something a bit luxurious for the new year, I definitely recommend looking into Jayjun’s Vita Snow Capsule+. It’s a set that contains a skin brightening essence as well as 4 vitamin powder capsules. Essentially, you apply the essence first and then warm up the powder in your hands to apply on afterwards. However, I have also tried simply mixing the two parts in my hands and applying it at the same time. I haven’t noticed a difference when using these different methods. I used and finished this item within a span of 4 weeks, one powder capsule per week.

The essence itself contains vitamins, collagen, glycosaminoglycans, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, peptides, and glycolic acid. These ingredients help to brighten, clarify, hydrate, and firm the skin. Such an all-around essence! The powder contains even more, highly-concentrated vitamins that help with toning dull skin for a brighter complexion. After trying out the set, I instantly noticed that my skin looked clearer and a lot more alive. It helped diminish the dark pigments from previous acne, and my skin looked a lot whiter. So this is how Snow White must feel like. I think this product is super inventive and something a bit different from other products out there. Despite the hefty price point, I think if you’re looking to splurge on something a bit more high-end for yourself or a relative, it is definitely going to be worth trying out!

[Jayjun] Black Pearl First Repair Serum

Now. come to the dark side! Just kidding, but this has been probably one of my favorites of the bunch. I am a serum-fanatic and can probably collect serum after serum. So, I am always on the look-out for serums to troubleshoot my skin needs. I was instantly drawn to the color and design of the serum in its packaging. The black color comes from black iron oxide that ironically whitens and makes your skin brighter! This ingredient is perfectly safe and non-toxic, so you don’t have to worry if your skin is particularly sensitive like mine. I’ve been using it as a daily night serum, and I have to say that I am pleasantly surprised by the results of this product.

Aside from the iron oxide, this serum contains skin brightening agents like pearl extract, niacinamide and vitamin C derivatives that provide a revitalized and luminous complexion. It helped settle the redness around the perimeters of my face a lot, as well as the minor dark spots from previous acne. The serum also contains adenosine which helps with firming the skin to help treat premature aging and wrinkles, which is always a bonus since I have huge smile lines and minor wrinkles on the forehead. Surprisingly, it also contained two of my favorite soothing ingredients: centella asiatica and propolis extract. Both of these work amazing as anti-inflammatory agents that help calm my skin of irritation while doubling up on the anti-aging functions of this mask. So, if you know someone that would love a multi-functional serum, then I would recommend giving this guy a shot!

This concludes our Lunar New Year M-Review Special! I hope you guys enjoyed reading about these products and are open to trying them out. Most importantly, our team at Masksheets hope that this year will bring both you and your loved ones good fortune, and we will be here every step of the way to provide happiness through all your beauty needs!

Until the next one,

A K-Beauty Lover's Guide to Hydrated Skin - M Review 62

Winter is upon us, and that means our skin is getting drier as it is getting colder. Whether you have dry or oily skin, this is the time of the year when hydrating your skin is the most important! From cleansers to lip balms, moisturizing is an essential part of any skincare routine. It keeps your skin looking healthy, vibrant, and resilient while improving dry flakiness and balancing out oil production. Hydrated skin has been a crucial part of K-Beauty in achieving that 촉촉한/chokchok-han (“moist”) or 물광피부/mul-gwang pibu (“watery/dewy skin”). So, here’s your guide to quench your parched skin!

1. Cleansing – [huangjisoo] Pure Daily Foaming Cleanser

Cleansing is the first step in keeping your skin hydrated. Although it may sound contradictory since cleansers usually strip your skin of moisture, it is still crucial to cleanse the skin to have a clean canvas to hydrate your skin later. Finding the right cleanser that won’t leave your skin feeling tight and dry is essential for these drier months. You will want to avoid cleansers that contain surfactants or too many acids; opt for a mild formula with more natural ingredients.

The huangjisoo Pure Daily Foaming Cleanser - Moisturizing is the perfect cleanser to keep your skin feeling clean yet moisturized. Formulated with 99.5% natural ingredients, this cleanser is ideal for those with sensitive skin. With ingredients such as wheat seed extract and oatmeal, this cleanser strengthens and adds to the skin’s moisture barrier to deeply nourish the skin. With ceramide and yeast extract, this cleanser will help further hydrate and soften the skin for dewy and supple skin.

2. Toner/Pad – [COSRX] One Step Moisture Up Pad

Toners get this reputation of being drying and astringent. They don’t have to be! Nowadays, there are toners that primarily focus on hydrating the skin. Toners prep the skin in not only balancing your skin’s pH levels but also adding that initial layer of moisture after cleansing. It also helps your other products like moisturizers absorb into the skin more effectively.

COSRX’s One Step Moisture Up Pads are an innovative and easy way to tone your skin. For those of you who are lazy, these toner pads replace the need for cotton pads. By simply swiping the pads across the face, it will exfoliate the skin and help improve the skin’s texture for a smoother canvas. Most importantly, it will also replenish moisture to the skin with ingredients such as propolis extract and hyaluronic acid. This type of soothing hydration will leave your skin moist and glowing.

3. Mask – [Jayjun] Real Water Brightening Black Mask

Mask sheets have been the trendy way of adding a boost to your skin. Throw on a mask for an instant surge of hydration to your skin. Most masks on the market will have a hydrating factor about them, but it is important to read the ingredients to know if it will be suitable for your skin. Sheet masks have been many Koreans' secret weapon in achieving their popular dewy-skin look. Masks are a great pick-me-up, especially during these drier months, for relaxation and adding even more moisture to the skin.

The Jayjun Real Water Brightening Black Mask has been a favorite for those who have tried this K-Beauty brand before. The mask itself is made of black rayon which provides long lasting hydration with such an absorbent fabric. With ingredients such as sodium hyaluronate, betaine, ceramide, and jeju lava seawater this mask keeps your skin deeply nourished and well-balanced. There are also brightening agents such as a niacinamide and allantoin to even out and refine the complexion of the skin. I really love using this mask the night before a big event. It makes my skin feel super hydrated while also giving me a brightened complexion. The next day, my skin takes the makeup in well, with no issues of dry patches or flaking.

4. Moisturizer– [Papa Recipe] Honey Moist Cream

Now, where would we be at achieving “chok-chok” skin without mentioning moisturizers. Creams, emulsions, lotions, etc. are all essential in providing deep nourishment and hydration while locking in all the moisture to plump and smooth the skin. As a final step, it also prevents all the products that you applied before it from evaporating and helps them permeate the skin more effectively. Your skin wouldn’t be moist without moisturizer now would it?

Papa Recipe’s Honey Moist Cream is an ideal moisturizer that any skin type can use. Infused with honey, propolis, and royal jelly, this cream provides soothing moisture and leaves your skin with a honey-glazed complexion. It has a watery gel consistency that provides a burst of hydration with its water drop-type system, which also makes it ideal for any skin type. This cream has become a versatile product for me, where I can use it in my night routine or in the daytime as a lightweight moisturizer. Using it before makeup application, I noticed how smooth the makeup glided on without my foundation slipping and sliding everywhere.

5. Lip Balm – [Laneige] Lip Sleeping Mask

As a final step, you can’t forget about hydrating those lips! Especially when it is extremely dry outside, your lips tend to get chapped and crack more frequently. In order to keep your lips looking hydrated and plumped, it is important to use a lip balm or mask!

Laneige’s Lip Sleeping Mask has been a popular pick in terms of lip products. It is a super hydrating formula that uses a berry mix complex enriched with vitamins. It makes dry, flaky lips feel smooth and plumped. It can be used as an overnight lip mask, but I also like applying the mask right before leaving the house to keep my lips hydrated for the whole day. What’s even better is that it comes in 4 different flavors, so you can pick your favorite. Mine’s the berry flavor!

Hopefully, this has been a helpful guide for you readers that are struggling with the drier months recently. I’ve been following these steps to avoid that tight feeling I experience every winter. Hydrating the skin is the key in surviving the dry season, so moisturize, moisturize, moisturize from head to toe! With products like these, you’ll be able to achieve that famous dewy skin look that put Korean skincare in the spotlight for the world to admire. Your skin will love it, and it’ll look like you’ve been drinking gallons of water a day for that healthy and lively appearance. Using the G9SKIN Self Aesthetic Series: Keeping my Hands and Lips Hydrated All Winter Long - M Review 61

Yes, I'm a skincare junkie and have never denied it, but up to a few years ago, whenever I heard the term skincare I only thought about the things you use on your face, but what about the rest of the body? We're all covered in skin, yet we throw some moisturizer on our hands, legs, and arms and we call it a day while we do multiple-step routines for our faces.

For that same reason I started investigating a little more about things I could do and products I could use in order to keep my skin healthy all over my body, and that's how I landed on body sheet masks. No, this is not a single sheet mask you just slip on (although how cool would that be?) but a variety of different shapes you use for different parts of your body like your feet, your hands, your lips, and even your stomach or knees.

During winter time, there's two types I go back to on the regular: hands and lips ones. Constantly exposed to the cold, these two parts of my body tend to get too dry for my liking; hence why I need a little extra help besides lip balms and hand creams. On the search for the best ones out there, I discovered G9SKIN, a brand using natural extracts and high-end technology to bring moisture back to our lives in an easy and fast way.

[G9SKIN] Self Aesthetic Rose Hydrogel Lip Patch

Raise your hand if you re-apply lip balm at least 10 times a day, every day (I'm raising mine for sure). While there's no real way to stop doing it, hydrogel lip patches can be really helpful to get rid of texture, stains and dryness. This one in particular is formulated with Rose Water extract, which contains vitamin E and 20 times more vitamin C than a single lemon. Cool, right? But that's not it! In the formula you'll also find honey extract, hydrolyzed collagen, and hyaluronic acid - all ingredients that help boost and retain moisture on your lips.

The best thing is how easy to use they are. You just wash your face as you always do and right after applying toner just remove the film covering the patch and place it over your lips. Now you can pick a book or a show and relax for the next 20-30 minutes while the patch works its magic. After time is up, you'll remove the patch and gently pat your lips so all the good stuff absorbs into them and voilá! Healthy, plump lips are back.

Did you know you can learn about your health status depending on how your nails look? Yep, nails can show us many things about our bodies, like anemia, blood pressure, malnutrition, iron deficiency, arthritis and more. A way of keeping both our nails and hands healthy is by taking care of how hydrated they are, and a good way to do so is through hand mask.

If you've never tried hand masks before, believe me, you'll get obsessed after trying your first one. If you've tried them already then you know exactly what I'm talking about here. Hand masks can be life saviors on those super cold days when your skin feels like it lost every little bit of moisture. These ones in particular contain five types of different vegetable oils such as avocado, jojoba seed, olive, coconut and argan tree plus urea, and shea butter. They all come together to nourish the skin on your hands and keep them moist all season long.

I love to use them at night time, when I know I don't need to rush. While it's probably better to just relax and get away from your phone, these ones are screen-friendly, so you can wear them and use your phone at the same time. They're super easy to use: you first wash your hands and dry them up, then take the glove-like masks and place them on your hands to then fasten the wrists with the sticker you'll see attached. This will keep all the moisture in and prevent the mask from leaking. Finally, after around 20 minutes just remove the gloves and pat your hands so everything sinks in. And that my friends is how you keep your hands smooth, soft and plump all winter long.

M Review 60 - Dr. Jart Cicapair Calming Mask

Dr Jart+ Cicapair Calming Mask is infused with centella asiatica, an Asian herbal plant commonly referred to as tiger grass, known to aid in skin recovery. Centella extract in this sheet mask also helps cool, soothe, repair and moisturize sensitive skin. This mask also contains botanical oils and extracts for additional soothing benefits. Overall, this is a mask that soothes hot and sensitive skin and restore irritated skin for a healthy appearance.

Ingredients: Water/Eau, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Niacinamide, 1,2-Hexanediol, Diethoxyethyl Succinate, Carbomer, Arginine, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Melia Azadirachta Leaf Extract, Polyglyceryl-10 Myristate, Adenosine, Allantoin, Disodium EDTA, Melia Azadirachta Flower Extract, Glyceryl Acrylate/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, PVM/MA Copolymer, Anthemis Nobilis Flower Oil, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Dextrin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Caramel, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Polyglyceryl-10 Oleate, Menthyl Lactate, Ethyl Menthane Carboxamide, Asistic Acid, Asiaticoside, Madecassic Acid, Methyl Diisopropyl Propionamide, Centella Asiatica Extract, Madecassoside

My skin is extra sensitive and red today. Sebum-wise, it’s feeling like normal skin with the usual slight dehydration. I’ve cleansed and toned my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.

Out of the packet, I caught a faint clean scent. Essence was runny and had a light green tinge. There was about a palm full of essence left after retrieving the sheet mask out of the packet.

The sheet mask felt soft and thin, almost like silk. It came with a perforated backing which allowed application to be less challenging.

Fit was almost great because my only complaint is the tiny mouth hole. Apart from that, I was able to apply this mask without looking in the mirror and not mess up.

Adherence was great! There were no lifts even though there were lots of overlaps and fold. There were no air bubbles either.

I took the mask off after 30 mins, it was slightly damp.

The remaining essence absorbed at average speed. Finish was slightly dewy and slightly greasy.

My combo skin felt moderately to intensely hydrated and moisturized, enough not to apply a moisturizer afterwards. I think dry skin will enjoy this amount of hydration but oily skin might find it too icky.

I think my redness did go down alot, but not entirely. I was hoping for this mask to completely eradicate my redness, given that it is targeted at sensitive and irritated skin.

Brightening, plumping, and skin smoothing effect were just average.

Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.

This mask worked great if it wasn’t marketed as one for calming redness. My favorite mask from the brand is Dr Jart+ Ceramidin Skin-Friendly Nanoskin Sheet Mask as it was able to address all the aspects that I look for in a sheet mask. Check out more Dr Jart+ reviews here.

Go be beautiful!
