Our mission is to offer emotional support to parents and their families who are experiencing or have experienced the effects of childhood cancer. We will achieve this by lending an empathetic ear, sharing the effects of cancer life, and offer a heartfelt sincere presence to help families cope, and help parents help their children.
We now have a food cupboard up on CK5!!! Will be nice for families to be able to access snacks and other goodies when having to stay in hospital! This is just one more exciting thing that we can do because people like you support us! Thank you!!!
If you are a family directly impacted by childhood cancer (or related childhood blood disorder treated at CancerCare), we would LOVE to see you at our annual Tinkertown event. This event is also open to bereaved families. Please contact us with any questions.
It's that time of year again! We have multiple families out knocking on doors looking for prizes for our annual online auction. These families have all experienced what it's like to have a child with cancer, or are close to one of our families. Our auction has been growing, or even doubling, every year since we started in 2012. This is extremely exciting for us! Because of the growth all these years, this fundraiser alone covers all of the events that we plan throughout the year and so much more! We can't even begin to tell you how grateful we are for this. All of the board members are volunteer parents who have, or have had a child with cancer. Most have full time jobs. Raising $55,000 between 7 people is a TOUGH job! We are SO thankful for those who take a load off our shoulders and stand with us in this. If you have any questions on how you can help, please send us a message! We will answer any questions you have.
For those wanting to donate, please join the group (don't forget to answer the questions). For those bidding, please join after April 1, 2019.
There are MANY exciting things happening at Candlelighters! We will be sharing those as we have all the details ironed out. One thing I can tell you is that we have added another parking pass for families who are staying up at CK5. Parking is expensive, so we want to take that extra stress off of parents.
We have been a bit slack with updating the website over the past year and a half... but we hope to be more up to date now. If you are ever wondering what we are up to, please check out our Facebook page. We keep that updated on a regular basis.
