Since its inception in 1939 in Williamsport, Pa., Little League has always been a community-based organization, focused on developing future leaders and citizens, through the sports of baseball and softball. The basic goal remains the same as it did in 1939, to give the children of the world a game that provides fundamental principles they can use later in life to become good citizens.
