When it comes to wedding trends, we’ve got you covered! The reports are in, and our couples are buzzing over this year’s stylish trends. From the Pantone’s Color of the Year to attire, and even top venue suggestions, 2018 is going to be a year full of some of the most elegant and natural weddings that you have ever seen. Our wedding planners put together a list of some “must-have” wedding trends, that will help you plan your wedding.

2018 Wedding Trends 2018 Wedding Color

Pantone is the known for their color matching system, and has become the authority for picking the “Color of the Year.” The selected color scheme for the 2018 wedding season is Ultra Violet.

Whether you choose to use this color in your wedding party attire, or in your décor, adding the playful purple hue will add pizzazz to your color palette. (Photo via Lace in the Desert)

2018 Wedding Invitation Trends

Make sure you give your guests an idea of your wedding theme with your invitations and “Save the Dates.” In 2018, expect more wedding paper to a natural feel to the invitation with marble, watercolors, and metallic foil accents.

2018 Wedding Dress Trends

From the runway to the aisle, 2018 brides are looking for stylish options that show off personality. Sleeves, gowns with hues, and embellishments or beading are all the hottest trends that are being shown on the runway this season.

2018 Groom’s Fashion Trends

Gentleman, too, are incorporating this casual, yet polished look into their attire! Be original with casual fabrics like tweed or herringbone and keep it fresh with hues of your favorite bold colors!

2018 Wedding Party Trends

Keep it simple and stress-free in 2018. Many are opting to have 2-3 wedding party members or consider just having the maid of honor and a best man. Not only will this make fittings and meetings easier to coordinate, but it will also make it much easier to get through pictures.

The wedding party fashion hasn’t changed too much in recent years, as more couples are deciding to have more fun with prints like florals and polka-dots, or mix-and-match bridesmaids dresses.

2018 Wedding Venue Trends

Garden weddings or outdoor wedding venues have been a huge trend for at least a decade. Couples today are now switching it up, they love the outdoors, but hate the unpredictable nature of taking their ceremony outside.

Many couples are bringing the outdoors inside, and finding venues that have an outdoor feel, but indoors. You will still see rustic-chic weddings, but couples may add a hint of industrial or woodland to their event space.

Another venue trend is to have an elegant and modern location. Clean lines, and minimalist styles with a hint of art- deco will be a growing trend in 2018.

Chapel of the Flowers in Las Vegas features both modern and elegant chapels as well as a rustic indoor garden setting for your ceremony.

2018 Wedding Flower Trends

Greenery is more popular than ever! Freshly cut foliage and succulents in potted plants will truly bring out a natural and harmonious touch to your decor that will tie everything together.

Another emerging floral trend is, “dark and dramatic”. Pair your greenery with dark colors for a subtle, yet elegant look! Expect to see dark hints of purple, such as, wine, lilac, and mauve in 2018 floral arrangements.

Stepping away from the recent wildflower bouquet trends, 2018 promises to see an abundance of Dogwood bridal bouquets and other “overgrown,” yet uncomplicated floral bouquets.

2018 Wedding Hair and Make-up

The best advice any wedding planner can give you for your wedding day look is to make sure you hire a professional hair and makeup team to make you look photo ready, and that you pick a hairstyle that you are comfortable with. If you wear your hair down, then pick a style that is mainly down, and updos for ladies that wear their hair up for most of the day.

(Photo via Wedding Bells)

Depending on your personal style your makeup shouldn’t overshadow your overall look, pick colors that are natural.

2018 Reception Trends

Small and full of surprises – receptions have been transforming into small experience filled events that are exclusively for the couple’s closest family and friends.

Unlike previous years, the dinner and drink menu has become increasingly essential to the reception. You will often hear guests say “the wedding was great, but the food was terrible!” Focus on picking a menu that will “wow” your wedding guests.

(Photo credit Mel Barlow & Co.)

We’re also seeing non-traditional receptions, with casual cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres and no sit down setting. Couples want their guest to feel like that are at a posh party, and able to move around the room and mingle.

Who doesn’t love donuts? Give your wedding guests a donut buffet instead of a candy bar.

2018 Wedding Décor Trends

The most popular trend last year and this upcoming year is going back to basics and keeping things natural. Think marble stone accents, lots of plants and foliage, and mixed with metal accents.

(Photo via Boho Weddings)

You will see more silver in 2018. Rose gold and bright gold have been the star of recent years, but silver will be on the rise this year. You will also see mixing of metal types.

(Photo via Southbound Bride)

Add a touch of black. Black accents will also be big for couples that want to add a bit of a rock-n-roll vibe or a classic touch to their wedding.

2018 Wedding Planning Trends

We live in a day and age where you simply can’t escape the internet and social media.. and why would you want to? Couples in 2018 are flocking to the internet to plan their special day. You can now book your venue online and even keep in constant contact with their wedding planner with just a touch of a button! You no longer have to schedule weekly meetings with your wedding planner being just clicks away.

Instagram #hashtags and SnapChat filters are still very popular this year and aren’t expected to go away. Many couples will buy a filter just for their wedding day.

We are looking forward to seeing how brides and grooms take these predicted trends and customize these suggested ideas to make their own. If you are interested in planning a Las Vegas wedding, our knowledgeable wedding planners at award-winning Chapel of the Flowers can help make your design the perfect wedding.

The one acre wedding venue near SLS and Stratosphere resorts received the coveted TripAdvisor 2017 Certificate of Excellence, the third year in a row Chapel of the Flowers has earned this prestigious award.

The Certificate of Excellence honors accommodations, restaurants and attractions that consistently receive great traveler reviews on TripAdvisor. TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel site, has over 500 million reviews and opinions covering the world’s largest selection of travel listings worldwide. It is available in 49 international markets and has an average of over 390 million unique monthly visitors.

Chapel of the Flowers has over 1,775 reviews on TripAdvisor, with nearly 1,500 users rating Chapel of the Flowers “excellent,” more than any other chapel in Las Vegas. The venue also is listed in the top 20 places to see in Las Vegas.

A couple from New Orleans gave Chapel of the Flowers a five out of five on TripAdvisor on July 25, 2017. Their review stated that they came across hundreds of chapels in Las Vegas, and decided to get married in the Magnolia at Chapel of the Flowers after speaking with one of the expert wedding planners. Due to the growing guest count that put their capacity over the seating in the Magnolia, they switched to the larger La Capella, which was available at the last minute, and said “IT WAS BEAUTIFULLLLLLL.” The review went on to say that the two photographers did a great job, and “caught every smile, every tear, the unity candle…EVERYTHING. The quality of the pictures was amazing” and “everything about this chapel was exceptional and above our standards. The staff was very professional and catered to our every need.”

Interested couples are invited to inquire about ceremony dates, wedding packages and reception options by contacting Chapel of the Flowers at 702-735-4331 or toll-free at 1-800-843-2410. In addition to the Magnolia and La Capella chapels, the venue offers the traditional Victorian and the state-of-the-art, temperature controlled Glass Gardens. Brides and grooms may also email info(at)littlechapel(dot)com and a wedding planner will respond within a few hours, during normal business times. Chapel of the Flowers also offers beautiful outdoor venues, offsite ceremonies at state parks and unique historical sites. Planners also oversee bookings for ceremonies and receptions at the gorgeous Tropicana LV Resort, known for lush gardens and waterfalls, upscale restaurants and ballrooms, a truly spectacular location for couples who desire a wedding at a famous Las Vegas hotel property.

Wedding, commitment ceremony and vow renewal packages at Chapel of the Flowers include professional wedding planners and coordinators, modern limousine transportation, professional photography and videography and designer floral services. The Chapel employs a staff of nearly 90 on-site employees to ensure that each couple is pampered and that guests receive exemplary service. The one acre venue with waterfalls, gardens, a gazebo and a crystal canopy consistently ranks as a top-rated venue on The Knot, Wedding Wire and other wedding planning websites, review sites and magazines.

Happy New Year! Have you made your New Year’s resolution, yet? Maybe you are still thinking about what you want to accomplish this year. Make this year different, and consider making resolutions with your spouse, fiance or boyfriend/girlfriend. Think about how much easier it will be to keep your resolution with a support system. This year is going to be the best yet, with our couple’s New Year’s resolution ideas.

They say it takes 30 days to break a habit. Why not take it slow this year. Instead of trying to reach your goal through the entire year; make a new resolution each month. You can pick a goal that can be accomplished within 30 days, and who knows your monthly resolution could carry through the rest of the year.

New Year’s Monthly Goals for Couples

JANUARY- Eat Healthier

The holidays are over, and most people hit the gym and try to lose weight. Don’t get all worked up about losing weight. Set a goal for you and your loved one about maybe only going out once a week in January, and cooking healthy meals together at home. Having someone to help you make the right eating choices will make this resolution so much easier.

FEBRUARY- Get Active

Are you feeling your best after eating healthy in January? Now pair that with getting more activity. You don’t need to spend hours at the gym. Try going on walks around your neighborhood, or cleaning the house together — just something other than just watching TV together. If you need to go to the gym and that motivates you to move…make a workout schedule with each other and go to the gym together. Nothing makes working out easier than having a good gym buddy!

MARCH- Give Back

Although most of us know the importance of being charitable, it seems that time doesn’t always allow us to participate in giving back to the community. Find a cause that you are your loved one is passionate about and commit to your plans to give back.

Charity Idea: Help grant a wish, and donate to the Chapel of the Flowers’ team for the Make a Wish foundation’s “Walk for Wishes.”

APRIL- Date Night

In April, focus on getting those butterflies again with your sweetie. It seems that sometimes we let our busy schedules take over our love lives. Living with your spouse/significant other is just simply not enough. Make sure to keep the flame alive by having a regular date night every week. Perhaps, alternate who picks the activity- have a good time!

MAY- Throwback to the 90’s

Remember before cell phones and laptops? Those were the times you had to sit in a room with others and strike up a conversation because you weren’t following each other on Facebook. Commit to putting away or turning off all technology when you are having dinner or spending quality time together. We dare you to try to go one day a week without checking your phone.

JUNE- Break a Bad Habit

We all have bad habits; whether you want to stop biting your nails or perhaps quit smoking, you can encourage and support each other during this hard time.  Let’s see if you can break the habit longer than a month.

JULY- Visit Family

July is all about BBQs and enjoying the summer weather. Try to get together more with family to throw a 4th of July party, or go on a camping trip with both sides of the family. Who knows, you could be creating a new tradition.

AUGUST- Save Your Money

The holidays are coming up and right now is the best time to start saving. This August, start to save for holiday gifts by putting $10 or $20 a week in a jar (whatever you can afford), before you know it you have extra cash to spend on each other for the holidays. If you can save longer than August, you will have a better gift to give by December.

SEPTEMBER- Start a Compliment Jar

Sometimes you just need to hear that you’re pretty or you’re appreciated. Start a compliment jar, and add a compliment for each other every day of September. At the end of each week, you can check all your compliments. This will remind you why you fell for each other in the first place.

OCTOBER- Complete a Project

Is there something you wanted to make for your home, or a couple of projects around the house that need to get done? Why not look at your to-do list and see how many projects you can complete together. The chances are that you can get most of your outstanding projects done before Halloween.

NOVEMBER- Get Social

Go out with friends you haven’t seen awhile or make new friends. Every Saturday in November, make plans to go out with others, whether it’s trivia night, karaoke, or casual dinner… just socialize with others. Just because you have found the love of your life, doesn’t mean you can’t have a life.

DECEMBER- Remember the Moments

Don’t forget to take plenty of photos during the holidays, and maybe this year you send out one of those holiday cards. Decorating the house for Christmas? Do it together, and take photos of the process – make a slideshow and share on you Social Media accounts. Just make sure you capture and cherish every moment together.

Whether this is your first year with your spouse, or you are celebrating 30 years of marriage; it is never too late (or early) to accomplish goals together. If you aren’t into resolutions, there is one you should always keep…be committed to making each other happy as many days in the year as you can.

Make 2018 a great year and Happy New Year from Chapel of the Flowers!

Vintage weddings are always trending, and next year’s vintage will be defined as more glamorous and formal with a Great Gatsby twist. See why we’re lovin’ roaring 20’s themed weddings.

The fashion and style in the 1920s were all about a new rebellion, prohibition, and over-the-top parties. The art-deco patterns, paired with feathers, diamonds, and metallic accents really made the 1920’s one of the most iconic and elegant times in history. Here are some of wedding planning tips for creating a glamorous and sophisticated “Great Gatsby” theme wedding.

Glamorous Gatsby-Inspired Wedding Ideas   Great Gatsby Wedding Invitations

Set the tone of your wedding long before the big day! Make sure to incorporate the 1920’s theme into your wedding invitations. Metallics are always a safe bet and make sure to have fun with the fonts.

“Will you marry me?” is a common phrase heard around the holidays. In fact, the holidays are the most popular time for marriage proposals. With family gatherings and various holiday parties, this is the best time to get down on one knee to make the ultimate gesture of love. Couples all over the world look to the holidays to pop the big question, so how will your proposal stand out from the rest? Here are some creative proposal ideas you can steal for your engagement moment.

7 Creative Marriage Proposal Ideas Never Ending Gift Proposal

If you want to make your engagement memorable, why not give the best gift this holiday? The ultimate commitment to love! In order to make it a truly unique proposal, consider using the “Matryoshka” effect. Just like the Russian nesting dolls, you will want to find several boxes of multiple sizes (the goal is to make your “soon-to-be” believe that they will be getting a huge, extravagant gift!) As the unwrapping begins, they will discover smaller and smaller packages leading to… the ring and you proposing as they open the most precious gift of all. You can get these boxes at the Container Store.

 Mile High Proposal

Whether you are visiting family or just having a nice getaway with your boyfriend/girlfriend, the holidays are prime travel days. Consider proposing high above the clouds over the plane’s loudspeaker or with assistance from the flight crew! Imagine surprising your family with your announcement. (Photo via wikimedia)

Social Surprise Proposal

Since not all couples live in the same city as their family and friends, social media is often the ultimate outlet to keep in touch and stay updated on upcoming events. If you and your loved ones are big on social media, consider including it in your proposal. Make it a surprise to everyone by telling your future fiance that you would like to do a vlog or live broadcasting wishing all your friends and family a happy holiday. When you are in front of the screen and connected to all your loved ones, pop the question!

First Date Proposal

Do you remember your first date, or perhaps your first kiss? Take a trip down memory lane and use your first date to propose. Recreate that special day by visiting the same place and making it as close to that first date as possible. Maybe you had your first kiss at the end of that night, use this instance to not only re-live that kiss but to pose that unforgettable question, “will you marry me?”

Theme Park Proposal

Do you and your love share an interest in Star Wars, Disney, or perhaps a Comic series? Plan a trip to a theme park for your proposal. If you like to get extra nerdy, consider dressing up like your favorite characters and surprise your future fiance in front of your favorite attraction in a crowd of fans, just like you!

Live Show Proposal

Do the two of you have a passion for the arts? If music is that commonality that brings you two together, consider finding an orchestra, band, or choir to help you with your engagement! Surprise your “soon-to-be” by having a music group perform your favorite song and use this time to get on that knee and pop the question! If you are into stage performances and the theatre, get ahold of the stage manager of your favorite show and see if they would let you propose following curtain call.

Fake-out Proposal

They say laughter can be a way to someone’s heart! Surprise your significant other by playing a light-hearted prank on them. You will have to come home with some type of ring sizing instrument. Ask to have them try it on (the idea of an engagement ring will become very obvious). You are likely to get a response of disappointment, “Why did you ruin the surprise?” Once you hear these words, pull the real ring out and give them the real surprise! Ring sizing toll available on Amazon.

There is no wrong way to say I love you, just make sure that is meaningful to both you and your future fiance. This is a day you will never forget. Take your personalities into consideration and make this a special moment. Now that you have found the perfect way to declare your love, you will want to start planning your wedding. Every year couples struggle to pick the best wedding date for their upcoming nuptials, and every year experts are predicting what dates will be the most popular, lucky, or best bargain. If you are thinking of getting married in Las Vegas, our wedding planners have shared what they feel will be the best wedding dates of 2018.

Couples flock to Vegas every year to tie the knot! Whether it’s an elopement or destination wedding, more and more couples are noticing what a great place Las Vegas can be for weddings. The only problem is that most couples are not locals and are unaware of what the best and worst wedding dates for Las Vegas.

There are many things to consider when picking your date in Las Vegas — weather, convention schedules, events in town, and holidays. These can factor into airfare and higher hotel rates.

Best Season to Get Married in Las Vegas

One thing to keep in mind is that Las Vegas is a desert! Unlike most places, Las Vegas has very specific temperatures in relation to the seasons. Summers in Las Vegas tend to be very hot, and Winters tend to be quite cold. It is essential to plan accordingly based on the type of weather you and your guests are accustomed to.

  • Spring (March – Mid May): Great weather, can be rainy at times. Everything is blooming and beautiful.
  • Summer (Late May-August): Very hot but great for couples that enjoy the pool, lots of festivals, and events.
  • Fall (September – November): Best weather, getting cooler from the hot summer. Crisp air and beautiful sunsets.
  • Winter (December – February): Cold and a little rainy, but nothing too bad (it is the desert and we don’t get a ton of rain). Less busy on the Strip and great rates for wedding packages (Winter months are considered off-season dates). Hotels and airfare are cheapest during Winter months. Book your winter wedding, and get more bang for your buck!

Locals Tip: Winter in Las Vegas tends to have the rainiest days, however, Monsoon season (late June- September) has to most severe thunderstorms and prone to flash flooding.

There is something for everyone, and with outdoor and indoor venues, you can’t go wrong with a Las Vegas wedding.

Make the most of your wedding photos with these wedding keepsake and photo gift ideas.

First thing is first, to reproduce, create fun Pinterest DIY projects, or order canvas; you will need to own the rights to your wedding photographs. This means you will need to purchase the Digital Copyrights to your images from the wedding photographer.

All photographers charge an additional cost to be able to “own” your images. Some photographers will charge this fee afterwards, and some will include it in the photography package. This is a standard practice in the wedding industry.

What are Digital Copyrights?

The digital copyrights are the digital file of your photos. This will allow you to upload, share them on social media, and duplicate without having to contact your photographer to get enlargements, duplicate, or specialty prints. You can do almost anything with your photos, once you own them.

Wedding Photo Gifts and Keepsakes

Expert Tip: Spend more on a quality albums, you don’t want your album to fall apart, and have to pay more to replace it.

Give your husband/wife a canvas on your first anniversary. You can turn your wedding into a work of art. Display the love and romance of your unforgettable wedding day with a living room canvas for all your loved ones to see.

Remember your wedding day every day, with a custom calendar.

(Calendar by Minted.com)

Bring your favorite photos to the office, and create a paper weight.

You have that one photo that you can’t live without; create a custom phone case for your iPhone or Droid.

(Custom photo cell phone case by CaseApp)

Tis the season — turn a couple photos into ornaments and coasters. You can either deck your halls, or give as gifts to your loved ones.

(Custom photo coasters by Impressions Last)

The ideas are truly endless, when you own your wedding photos. So create something heartfelt or design stunning wedding keepsakes for you and your loved ones.

Best Paper for Wedding Photos

The paper you choose to print your wedding photos on is very important. Do you want a modern glossy look, a vintage look with linen, or rustic-chic leather quality to your prints? These are all things to keep in mind when you are choosing the paper to print your photos on.

  • Matte prints (for a smooth, slight-glare look; lower-contrast with enhanced texture)
  • Leather prints (for a shiny and sharp look/deep contrast; rugged, leather-like textures)
  • Fine-art/linen prints (crisp prints with soft finish, no-glare, and subtle shadings)
  • Metallic prints (high gloss, luminescent; durable and long-lasting)

Sometimes its best to see the print finishes in person, but if you can’t; we have a video to show the textures, contrast, and reflective qualities.

Want to get your digital copyrights to create a one-of-a-kind holiday gift, or interested in more information about weddings at Chapel of the Flowers? Contact Chapel of the Flowers to book your ceremony, and experience the magic of our world-renowned photographers.
