Bite Beauty is one of those brands that consistently gives us good reliable products. Their lipsticks are creamy, hydrating, and long-lasting and give the high-end stuff a run for their money. Even my dear mom is a HUGE fan of the brand.
They added the Outburst Longwear Lip Stains to their product line up back in May. With only three shades, Sangria Slush (bold true red), Strawberry Frozé (hot pink), and Orange Fizz (bright coral orange), I wish they would have taken the time to create at least 3 more shades to give us a bigger lineup.

I mean, in a way I get it. The concept behind these products is to give us a beautiful, bold lip stain. There’s certainly a lot of versatility here in that it can be worn bold (when applied straight from the tube), or more subtle by dabbing the product onto the lips. (See my YouTube video for comparisons.)
Even still, I find myself not connecting to either colours as I’m going through a nude lipstick stage at the moment. I just wish Bite could have given us a nude option, but perhaps that would defeat the purpose of these Lip Stains all together.
Regardless, these Stains are awesome, long-wearing and do stain the lips (and hands as I discovered while filming this video) for a good amount of time. They’re vegan, cruelty-free, and gluten-free and are available exclusively to Sephora and Bite Beauty. They’re also part of the permanent collection so who knows, maybe they’ll expand their shade range somewhere down the road.
For the eyes, Givenchy recently launched their Volume Disturbia Mascara & Eye Liner.
The mascara is volumizing, curl enhancing, enriched with vitamin E, and will not clump. The eye liner is a pure black, 24-hour wearing waterproof, felt tip liner that’s easy to apply and will not budge. The perfect melt-proof makeup duo this summer.

They feel like a juicy lip balm on the lips but have a lighter consistency than a gloss or a lipstick.
The shiny finish almost reminds me of a gloss, but it feels and looks more natural. Almost like your lips but better.
The shades are also buildable - dab it on for a sheer wash of colour or apply it straight from the bullet for a stronger pigment. Alternatively, line your entire lips with a matching lip liner for a full colour pay off with a glossy finish that will last.
Speaking of which, the longevity of these Mademoiselle Shine lippies is pretty good. It lasts through food and drinks, which I’m a big fan of.
Finally, if you’re sensitive to smells then you’ll appreciate these. There’s no offensive odor or taste and, doesn’t have that usual Lancôme lipstick smell. Hands up if you know what I’m talking about.
That aside, definitely check these out if you’re a fan of tinted lipsticks.

GUERLAIN Rouge G Customizable Lipsticks (new shades & cases) - YouTube
Last year the Guerlain Rouge G lipsticks where all over social media and I have to admit, I was intrigued. I finally got a chance to try these out for myself after receiving them in PR.
One thing I have to admit is that I had no clue that a mirror was hidden in the clunky lipstick lid. I thought it was purely for design but it turns out to also have a purpose. In addition to that, I also didn’t realize that the cases are purchased separately, therefore making your entire lipstick completely customizable.
I can get behind that.
With 41 shades and three finishes, there’s something for everyone here.

As far as designers go, I consider Saint Laurent to be one of my faves. Their lipsticks are quality, long lasting with excellent pigmentation but surprisingly, it's their lipglosses that I favour. (I say surprisingly because I normally favour lipstick.)
I'm convinced that out of all of the glosses that I've ever tried, YSL has some of the better ones out there. The formula stays on even after drinking a glass of water and having a light snack. It does need to be touched up after having a plate of pasta but honestly, I don't mind.
Best of all the formula is buildable so you get the type of intensity you want from your gloss - one swipe for a sheer wash of colour or a little more for a vivid hue.
I don't even think the packaging needs any mention because it's just so cool and sophisticated, exactly what you'd expect from Saint Laurent.
YSL FAVES - my small black LouLou bowling bag and wallet on a string crossbody bag. I happen to get the latter on my first trip to New York. It was an unplanned purchase and I had gone in looking for something special to remember the trip by.
Both bags seem to be limited edition as they’re no longer available for sale, though I’m sure if you look hard enough, you can find one secondhand.

When I think about the first tube of luxury lipstick that I ever bought, I’m 99% positive It was Givenchy. Or was it Armani? Either way, I was looking for an experience. Something about splurging on makeup made me stand up straighter and feel more assured. I was working a dead-end job at the time and it was my way of escaping the mundane. Some people have alcohol or drugs, I’ve always been drawn to lipstick and fashion. Call me vapid or uncreative but my infatuation for clothes, shoes and makeup is deeply rooted in who I am.
When I was seven my mother didn’t allow me to wear nail polish so I would collect those hideous orange grocery store price stickers and apply them to my nails pretending they were freshly painted. Clearly I had a wicked imagination. When I was thirteen I would lock myself in the bathroom along with my mother’s makeup up bag playing with all of her lipsticks, imagining what it would be like to be grown up and wear red in public. Yup, some girls dream about their weddings, I was dreaming about makeup.

Today I am the proud owner of an extensive collection of red red lipstick, all varying in shades and formulas - from sheer to mattes to ultra (lip drying) mattes. Givenchy’s 304 Mandarine Boléro makes to cut as one of my all-time favourites and one I’ve repurchased most. It’s muted red-orange that’s gorgeous on most skin tones and makes olive undertones come to life.
One of the things I adore about the Givenchy makeup line is the leather lipstick cases that’s so true to their chic rock and roll aesthetic. Their formulas are creamy, hydrating, fully pigmented, never drying, and let’s face it, they look fabulous displayed on the vanity. In fact, their full line of makeup range won’t disappoint. The Prisme Libre powder is a favourite of mine and I have just discovered the Teint Couture Radiant Drop, a sheer rose-tinted highlight that’s awesome for mixing in with foundation or adding to the face for gorgeous glow.
I ADORE these lip plumping balms. Sure, I can go out and get some Burt’s Bees (no shade, truly love them), but these balms are ridiculously luxurious - from the pink leather packaging to the actual formula itself. They adjust with your natural PH balance to create a custom sheer pink that’s pretty and natural and individual on everyone.

Unlike those matte lipsticks that leave my lips feeling like a crusty desert, desperately pleading hydration, these Lancôme beauties are luscious, creamy, fully pigmented and most importantly, not at all drying so you can put the lip balm away. (I’m looking at you KVD.)
From the pale pinky nude Ardent Sand to the rich navy shade called Saphir Absolu, and my personal fave, Adoration, a classic blue red, there’s sure to be something for everyone in the 22 shade line up.
Lucky for us, they also have legit stay powder so you can skip the lip liner. (Unless you’re like me and need a good outline so you don’t accidentally end up looking like the Joker.)
At $40 (CAD) a tube, these luxurious lipsticks are totally every penny. I’d highly recommend trying these out and enjoying that signature Lancôme lipstick scent for yourself.
