Sponsored When you are trying to lose weight it is easy to get disheartened. It helps significantly to track your weight loss in every way you can so you see your body changing. The scales only tell one part of the story. Here I thought I would share with you some other ways you can track these changes. Non scale weight loss changes Have you tried any of these methods to keep track of your weight loss? Measure body parts and see the weight slide off them. Keep track of your changing clothes sizes. This is easier if you stick to one shop as we all know how much they can vary. Compare bra sizes (ladies only obviously!). The size can change significantly even when you feel in other ways like your body hasn’t changed. Keep all the different size coat-hangers and watch those sizes drop. Have a Dexa Scan and see how the inside of your body is changing. Your weight may be staying the same but the scan could show you have less body fat and more muscle. Photographs can be a great tool to see the changes. Keep comparing yourself now to photos of when you started. […]

If done correctly it can make the difference between having a healthy family and living from convenience foods. Here I thought I would share with you some tips to help you plan a weeks meals in 10 minutes. Meal planning in 10 minutes If you want to plan a week worth of meals for the family in just 10 minutes then here are a few things to consider. Which days you need a quick meal ready in minutes when you get home? Do you have anything that needs using that you need to base any meals around? What is on offer at the local supermarket? New meals that you want to try to keep your meals interesting. Starting by listing the meals for days you need something ready when you get in is the easiest way I find. Use a slow cooker recipe that can easily be prepared the evening before or in the morning. If this will make extra portions for the following day then add those in to the plan. Look […]

PR Sample I was given a free eye test and glasses from Vision Express in return for sharing my experience with you. All views are my own. I have never had my eyes tested or looked at Vision Express. This is purely because Ben had initially gone to a different opticians so when I needed glasses I went to the same one as him for convenience. For many reasons I have been unimpressed with my previous opticians so was happy to try out Vision Express. The Vision Express Eye Test At This Morning Live at the Birmingham NEC I was lucky enough to have my eyes tested on the Vision van by Vision Express. I found the assistant and optician both extremely knowledgeable and the whole test quick and smooth. I had concerns about my vision as in the last 18 months I have had 2 eye examinations and on both occasions my opticians told me i needed new glasses. Not only is this expensive but I also felt it surely unlikely that my eyes were changing this quickly. The optician explained that whilst my prescription has changed it is by half or quarter of a point each time. This, […]

We recently went to London and stayed at a beautiful hotel in Kew, ate at The Gherkin and wandered around the city. I have a few tips to share with you to make that weekend break as cheap as you can. I used some of them on a recent trip with Ben to Liverpool. Do you need to actually go for a weekend break? Midweek trips can often be cheaper in so many ways so check if this is a possibility. Article written in collaboration with Kwik Fit to ensure you know the new driving rules. I have been compensated for this article. Did you realise that this year there have been lots of new driving rules and regulations? I for sure was not aware of them so I wanted to share some with you to help you stay within the law too. Let’s face it none of us want a fine through the door do we? When did you last read the highway code? Do you even own one? If like me you have not even thought about it since passing your test you are not alone! Many drivers feel that when they pass their test the learning is over. We of course forget that new driving rules come into place constantly and it is our responsibility to know them. Unfortunately they say ignorance is no defence. Did you know for example that the MOT categories have changed and that if a problem with your car is deemed dangerous then you can no longer drive it. The issue must be resolved before the car is road legal again. My pet hates when driving We all have little niggles don’t we […]

PR Sample Advertisement – As we were given this Nintendo Switch console in return for a review it is classed as an advert. All views however are my own and those of Ben. A few weeks ago we were lucky enough to be asked by AO to review a Nintendo Switch bundle. Ben has autism and loves gaming so we wanted to see how the Nintendo Switch compared to his other consoles as suitable for children/teenagers with needs like his. Choosing a Nintendo Switch from AO If you are looking to buy a Nintendo Switch then it is easy to be overwhelmed by the variety of packages available. I was impressed at the variety AO offered all with easy to arrange delivery. They deliver 7 days a week so next day delivery is often possible. AO stock Nintendo Switch with no games for £279 and with games from £299. Packages are available for all interests and ages so do have a look here at their bundles. As AO also stock games and accessories you can really spend as much or as little as you want in making the console right for you. How easy is it to set up the […]

Guest Post Do you work in an environment where a Friday after work drink is almost compulsory? Do you feel like it is part of the job to have a drink with your colleagues? I know when I previously worked in pubs I found it was the norm to have a drink after work. I would almost consider myself as alcoholic for a period of time around then. Here I have an article written by a friend Emma about some research showing doctors could be a profession that surprisingly feels most pressure to drink. Read on to see what she has found out. As Brits, we are known for liking a tipple from time to time, and for some of us, this become excessive. Which is why I was so shocked by the findings from One Year No Beer who recently performed research which exposed that a third of Brits believe they would be at a serious disadvantage at work if they didn’t drink alcohol. Even more startling is that the research also revealed that it is doctors who feel the most pressure to drink due to their workplace culture. Wow. What on earth is going on? From those responding […]
