Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) and Tile (LVT):  The New Generation of Flooring

Just Around the Corner is excited to introduce the latest flooring technologies to continue our goal of offering the very best Family-Friendly Flooring to St. Louis homes.   With so many options to choose from, it’s important to understand the benefits of the new wave of flooring options including Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) and Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT).

Let’s explore the benefits of Luxury Vinyl: Outstanding Looks

While nothing beats a beautiful wood floor, real wood is not always practical.  Luxury vinyl planks (LVP) have exploded with realistic looks and colors that are difficult to differentiate from the real thing.  And, they hold up better for super active families.

Lower Costs

LVP’s make it possible for everyone to afford a beautiful looking wood type flooring, without sacrificing style or quality.  Luxury vinyl tiles (LVT) give us the option for tile and stone looks without the exorbitant cost of ceramic tile installations.  LVT’s can be grouted similarly to ceramic or they can be floated over existing floors.

Finally, Pet-Friendly, Family-Friendly Flooring

The LVP’s and LVT’s make it possible for active families to have and maintain beautiful, clean homes.   They are not only moisture resistant but most are moisture proof.  They can withstand brutal punishment from pets, kids, toys and still retain the beauty we desire to raise our families.  From wide planks to traditional tiles, there is something for everyone.

Don’t Get Confused

Technology continues to advance and create innovative types of vinyls.  From simple direct glue applications to tongue and groove, click together vinyls for floating applications.  The newer rigid core types resemble laminate flooring but have a plastic body under the tread layer instead of wood.  These create more rigid, durable floating applications, that old up better than older click-together vinyls.  They can get confusing with the different body types and dimension descriptions.  Rigid core materials are generally either WPC (wood plastic core) or SPC (stone plastic core).

WPC materials are lighter in weight but tend to be higher in price.  They have lots of great styles and colors.  SPC materials are somewhat limited in styles and colors but are unbeatable for strength, durability and moisture resistance just like the WPC material.  Come by our showroom today for a first hand look at the endless possibilities.

We want to thank Lauren, a recent customer of Just Around The Corner for her feedback after we refinished her floors. She writes: “I want to express how pleased I am with the refinishing of my hardwood floors and stairs. The outcome is amazing! This is something I have wanted to do for 20 years and finally got an opportunity to have it done. Choosing your team was the best decision I could have made. From the beginning with you coming out and talking to me about what I needed accomplished and explaining all my options, to Kevin and Mark doing the hard part and the young man that came to take care of damage done by my painters. Terry calling every evening to let me know what was going to happen the next day and what time I could expect the team to arrive was so appreciated. Rachel was so pleasant and professional, too. Thanks again for such a fantastic job. I love my “new” floors!”

Thank you, Lauren! We appreciate your feedback and your business.
