In September Kim and Julie decided to host a 'Spring Clean' Fundraiser.  Named 'What's in your Closet', we asked our friends (and their friends!) in Auckland to check through their closets and cupboards for good quality items to donate for us to sell.
The fundraiser was held in Kim's home on a beautiful, warm and sunny Saturday afternoon.  The ladies brought along good quality pre-loved goodies, and at the same time searched through other donated items for gorgeous pieces to purchase for a small price.  Most items were sold for $5 (except for new clothes), and we had an amazing array of colourful pieces of clothing, as well as side tables, DVD's, books etc.  Some of the clothing donated still had tags on and had never been worn.

Also available on the day was an impressive hamper to be won and delicious cake to eat with tea or coffee - congrats to Silia for winning the hamper!   At the end of an afternoon chatting, supping tea and eating chocolate or carrot cake; the ladies went home with the clothes they had discovered at the swap; all at great prices.

All items not sold on the day were packaged ready to be sold online.  And yes you guessed it; proceeds from all sales are to help a young baby receive much needed heart surgery.  So thanks to everyone who donated, purchased or shared about our Fundraiser!

Why not host a 'What's in your Closet' Yourself!
This is such a simple, fun way for you and your friends to fundraise, and you might get some great new gear at the same time.  Clear out your cupboards; have your friends do the same and then get-together for a fun afternoon (or evening) of swapping and raising funds over a cuppa or wine.

If you decide to host a fundraiser to help raise funds for Orphans in need, let us know!
