I love being part of your special day. Whether it be making or altering your dress, your bridesmaid dress, mother of bride dress, flower girl etc.
I also make men's vests and neckties which can be complimentary to the bridal party colours or even using the exact fabric from the bridesmaid dress, if desired. In addition to custom making or altering existing gowns, men's suits etc I also offer professional steaming of your formal bridal wear. And again, this can be for anyone and all.
Below are some examples. Be sure to watch the videos.

This bride requested I make her wedding dress a replica of a dress in Outlander.
What’s this video got to do with weddings you ask? The groom wanted to surprise his bride by turning up dresses as a Gladiator. You must watch to believe this one. Part of their wedding has actually been included in this video.
Steaming of wedding dress - freshens and removes wrinkles.
A bridesmaid (BM) travelling to the Sunshine Coast for the wedding came to me, just 24 hrs before the wedding, with burnt holes in her BM dress from the tail lights from the dress being stored in the boot of her car. She wasn’t happy with the excessive gathered fabric style which was lucky. I removed the excess which had burnt holes and redesigned the dress. The BM was very happy with the result.
I made this gorgeous green bridesmaid dress as well as the “unique” brides outfit pictured below.
This bride requested I make her a fitted off the shoulder dress for her Bali wedding. Very appropriate style.
This bride requested I make quite a unique wedding outfit. Below you can see more clearly that it is pants with a lace overlay. The bell sleeves trimmed in multi coloured hearts were particularly lovely.
Made this Ballerina style wedding dress for bride.
Made this popular wedding dress style. Chiffon over saying with boned bodice.
I made the grooms vest and did alterations to improve the fit of the brides dress.

I often get asked whether I can copy existing favourite clothing items. In most cases yes! This was a customer’s favourite Country Road dress which I copied twice. The second version I removed the ruffle and added a contrasting trim to the curved hemline for a shorter adaption.

Clothes brought off the rack are made to standardised size measurements. Well they are suppose to be! The idea, for example, if you are a size 10 you will have a certain size bust, a certain size waist and a certain size hips. But very few of us fit the standards exactly. We may have one but not necessarily the other standard proportions.
In addition there is “body ease” preference. A formula is applied to the garment pattern to allow a prescribed amount of drape and movement allowance between the garment and your skin. The issue is however, everyone has their own preference as to how snug they like their clothes around their bellies or thighs etc.
Then there is length. If you haven’t noticed we are not all the same size! Most garments are too long. They are made long to fit the jolly giants amongst us. It’s harder to make something bigger so it’s better if it is bigger or longer and then it can be made smaller.
Tailored clothes are made or adjusted to fit your shape and style preference. The end result should be a well fit garment. Tailoring can even make less expensive clothing items look great! It’s not just for the designer wear!
Here is a classic example. A bridesmaid received her online purchased bridesmaid dress. The dress was her size but it had way too much tuille and gathering for her liking. She is “vertically challenged”’ so the length of the dress made her look very grumpy. She also felt that showing a little cleavage wouldn’t hurt!
The pimped up and tailored bridesmaid dress turned out to be quite a beautiful dress and the woman felt so beautiful in it. A huge contrast to how she felt about the dress and herself when she first came to me for help.
Step out looking your best by ensuring your outfit looks it’s best.

Finding out the sex of your unborn child is exciting news and these days couples are choosing to announce the news in varied fun ways. Holding a Gender Reveal party is a popular way to announce to friends and family.
I was recently commissioned to make a dress for the Mother-To-Be to wear at her Gener Reveal party.
She sent me a picture of the dress idea she had in mind. She fancied a vintage style full skirt stripe dress with a bib collar over the sweetheart bustline. The pictured dress had one glaring style challenge for a heavily pregnant woman. At 7 months pregnant she couldn’t expect to have the cinched waist look.
Instead the dress was re-designed for an under bust look to allow for the expanded tummy.
The client provided some simple blue and and pink cotton fabric and some off white for what was initially decided to be the non-gather d slip that would be visible between the handkerchief hemline gaps. She also provided white satin for the bib-collar and under bust/midriff band
At the first fitting it was noted that the off white did look off in contrast to the collar and the skirt dress was lacking the “umff” that a gathered petticoat slip would provide.
So white cotton fabric was purchased and made into two layers of ruffles that was attached to the exiting off white straight slip. The ruffles now covered the incorrect colour and added the volume at the lower hemline. The result was very pleasing. Take a look!
Though the client chose to have a special dress
For the gender reveal party the dress itself did not play a part in revealing what is the gender of the baby. Maybe yours will?
So what is the gender of the baby? The lady certainly looks like she is bursting to tell her news.
Maybe you have some ideas of your own how your dress could reveal the gender of your baby or maybe you would just like a special dress made for the special occasion like this woman did.

This blog is a collection of some of the soft furnishing projects I have undertaken for customers.
Keepsakes
My favourite would have to be creating memorabilia pillows and teddy vests from the shirts of deceased loved ones.
These items make wonderful keepsakes for children of their fathers or grandfathers. I make the cushion covers and or vests from the former shirts using the original front tab button opening as the opening for the cushion cover and if the shirt has pockets it’s nice to leave them too. Makes it more about “daddy’s shirt”.
When I made the miniature vests for teddy bears I have attached the shirt brand name tag on the back of the vest. The last set I made for a customer the shirts were selected by which ever grandson/son had purchased the shirt as a present for their now deceased grandfather/father. This added to the memory.
School stuff
I made large sheet bags to store and carry children’s bedding used at nap times in kindergarten. Similar smaller bags can be made for library books or whatever else you need to bag!
Baby Layette
Perfect as a baby shower present or can be adapted to suit occasions such as engagement gifts etc. Towels, facecloths and blankets can be embellished and/or bound with fabric to suit themes, matching sheets.
The embellished towels and cot sheet below were made for a “monkey” theme.
Appliqué T—Shirts for children’s book author Chris Collins “Funky Chicken”
Was asked to replicate the funky chicken character and appliqué it to black t-shirts that would be worn for book tour promotion.
Curtains / Drapes
I regularly make curtains using fabric supplied by customer. I require the length and width of the window space so I can calculate and advise how much fabric and heading tape will be required.
I have undertaken large curtain tasks for theatres and Motels to smaller curtain jobs for campervans etc and everything in between!
I will also hem and repair existing curtains. I have undertaken a lot of work for Property Managers/investors for realestate businesses and owners/tenants. I endeavour to undertake this type of work in the shortest timeframe for minimal inconvenience.
Cushion, Pillow, sofa Covers
I have made 100s of pillow and cushion and covered foam for sofas and chairs. I am not an upholster so I do not cover chairs that do not separate from the furniture fixture.
Usually I just require the length, width and height measurements of the item to be covered. Unusual shaped items may need to be brought to me in order for me to draft a template.
The opening options are velcro, zipper. Button/buttonhole, press studs or envelope fold over.
Customer to provide fabric. Outdoor fabric that is fade resistant is recommended for outside sofa cushions. Spotlight or Lincraft are good sources for soft furnishing materials.
