Dear Frenchonista’s,

Yes!!! Esthetic Health (you may know them from RevitaLash) is bringing us a serious Korean beauty pearl in the form of a very effective magnetic mask, produced by Milky Dress. The Black Luster Mask does wonders for EVERY skin type. It cleans thoroughly and prevents impurities and at the same time it balances out both greasy and dry skin. It works against fine lines and leaves the skin soft, dewy and glowing like that of a baby. The magnet that you get with the mask really helps to reveal a younger looking skin and you may know that stars like Madonna have been using magnetic masks since quite a while.

We are always looking out for Korean products because they are not easy to find in The Netherlands, and since a few years now they are a big hype among Western women, always mesmerised by the gorgeous skin of Korean gals. Now let’s eat some Kim Chi while wearing the mask and…voila’! Full health benefit achieved from the inside and out!

Got curious? Go to www.esthetichealth.nl and read more!

Dear Frenchonista’s,

The new scents by Thierry Mugler, for him AND her celebrates the process of personal discovery and reinvention through the acceptance of our diversity and uniqueness. We are all alien and that’s what makes us special!
Alien Man and Alien Flora Fortuna are locked inside a bottle shaped like a talisman. Alien Man is woody, leathery and aromatic. The female Alien is on the other hand flowery – warm and light.

We are godly in our mysterious humanity!

Dear Frenchonista’s,

I don’t think we’ll ever stop writing about Colmar. The Italian brand, never fails to disappoint in elegance, structure, colours and fashion forwardness.
The Spring/Summer 2018 collection is inspired by the city, a reflection of a perfect symphony between form, colour, sound and silence. As always the collection uses new and fresh materials and patterns. This time Colmar works with Japanese denim with natural indigo pigmentations and nylon inserts. Famous for ski wear, we always love Colmar’s outdoor collections for their look and water and weather resistance.

Keep an eye on www.colmar.it for the current collection (men, women AND children!) and see here some first spring/summer inspiration

Dear Frenchonista’s,

Are you around or over 40 (like some of us…) and in desperate need of a lift?
Filorga, one of our favorite medical beauty brands, launched the Lift Structure line with three products that really help you where it counts and all day long! The range consists of a serum, a day cream and the Sleep and Lift night cream. The products have been formulated with Plasmatic Lifting factors (a complex of active ingredients collagen, hyaluronic acid and cellular factors from turmeric – I love turmeric on the skin, Indian women have been using it since ages).

Read more on this highly effective 24 hour remodeling range and if you can only start with the Sleep and Lift; we all know that during the night the skin works hardest!

Dear Frenchonista’s,

the best thing Samia has done this month? Definitely visiting the new Sweets hotel!

The Sweets hotel is a totally unprecedented way of experiencing Amsterdam. Every other bridge in Amsterdam has a little house in which a bridge controller used to be stationed just to open and close the bridges for passing boats. Now that bridges can be controlled from a central control system, many of these tiny houses have lost their once so important function. Every single bridge house is unique and often designed by a famous architect. Now they have been transformed into independent hotel suites by a dedicated team of architects and designers. The oldest one dates from 1673 and is located on the sluices across from Carre’.

We could talk about this project for hours but essentially staying in this hotel is the most amazing way to experience the city of canals. The wide views over the waters, the closeness to Amsterdam heritage and daily life, the intimate design…not to mention the mobile key system that allows you to check in and out without interfacing with an actual desk…it’s all absolutely brilliant.

“The city itself becomes the lobby”, New York Times magazine wrote. On www.sweetshotel.amsterdam you can read all about the history of the bridge houses and directly book one of the first 11 bridge house suites that make Amsterdam even more special than it already is.

Pass this on to anyone who is planning to Amsterdam or plan to wake up in one yourself! Samia’s favourite so far is suite #308 on the Kinkerbrug.

Dear Frenchonista’s,

We are greeting spring with the new scent by Kenzo!

Kenzo World is edgy, playful and extraverted. Samia likes the understated freshness which makes it a chic scent that can be used in all seasons! The bottle in the form of an eye is fun and fully aligned with Kenzo’s view on the woman they also create fashion for. There are three versions available: An eau de toilette, and two versions of eau de parfum.

Kenzo World is a happy marriage between pear and peony with additional blossoms on a earthy and woody base. Go try it!

Dear Frenchonista’s,

We sometimes read stories about people quitting their day job and living their dream, and Samia herself knows all about it. That’s why we are always interested to hear from start-ups and to try their products, especially when their story and their products are extraordinary.

The birth of the brand Sense Of Purity is one of these stories. Ray, the creator of the brand, had been suffering from allergies for years. Whatever hair and skin care products he used – it did not matter. As a last resort he started looking into the ingredients they often had in common and discovered that ingredients like sulfates or chemically produced vitamins were the culprits. He decided to start developing his own products, for personal use and since he liked them he gifted them to friends and family as well. Soon the word spread and he developed an ever growing fan base. Needless to say, he took the plunge and…Sense of Purity was born.

Samia and I both tried and tested some of his all natural products and we are extremely happy with them. We simply adore the Hammam Body Wash – and I can tell you the men in my family feel exactly the same, so bye bye to separate shower gels from now on! The Mandarin & Lily shampoo left my hair very voluminous and smelling absolutely great (and no itching scalp, because for me that is an issue as well, so thank you Ray!). The lip balm? Simply great.

We really recommend you to visit www.senseofpurity.com and order some of Ray’s products. He found a new customer in me for sure!

Dear Frenchonista’s,

“Make the rules then break them all ‘cause you are the best” And breaking the rules he did.
Prince was a pioneer, an artist, an entertainer, an explosion of creativity and one of the best songwriters of our times.
As I walk through the exposition, his career and life flash by and I realise that it is literally impossible to think of the past decades and not have Prince make guest appearances in every single one of them. Armed with a headset, his music ringing in my ears, I catch myself dancing to his songs as I wander past the varied phases of his life and career.
It was of course not only about the music, but also about Prince’s unique style, which is so apparent in the huge collection of outfits he wore and the oh so many creative videos. Prince was passionate and a perfectionist which transcends in every footstep he took.
Thank you so much for colouring my life, making me dance uncontrollably and sing (terribly) to your songs.
It is undeniable that Prince brings back memories to all of us, a little big man who has left his footprint in music forever.

Dear Frenchonista’s,

Weleda has come right on time with the newest products for spring. We’re talking about the new Weleda Beauty Balms and Colour Lip Balms for a natural look, for those of you who prefer to only put natural ingredients on your faces. In summer the Beauty Balm can act like a tinted moisturiser, which is obviously a great solution on a holiday. They are available in a nude and bronze teint and if you get both of them you can mix them to your own liking. Although the balms have all the healthy oils (jojoba and shea butter) that make your face glow, the mineral pigments prevents a too shiny look.

The lip balms are available in nude, rose and berry red. What we like about them is that they make your lips look like they don’t even need lipstick.

Weleda never let’s us down!
