You might have seen this blogpost, where I told you about Equal Hot Yoga, already. But in case you missed it, you might want to check it out before reading this article, because the story continues! I have been doing hot yoga at Equal Hot Yoga Studios for quite a few times now and I am enjoying it more and more. Besides the fact that I really see the difference in my body (I can finally touch my toes!), I also enjoy the variety of their lessons.

When you think about yoga, you often think about a peaceful environment without music. Only breathing and chirping birds. But if you are like me and find it hard to get rest, you might want to try out this new lessons ‘Flow with the Beat‘. I bet you never tried (hot) yoga with uptempo music, am I right? Than this is something you should try! It is a 60 minute hot yoga workout, focused on the core and stretching your hips, but with cool beats played by a DJ at the background.

For me it is a perfect balans between hot yoga, a good workout and some fun! Have you ever tried a yoga lesson like this or are you considering doing one? Let me know in the comments!

You may know my obsession with suits by know, so this outfit doesn’t come as a surprise. For me, suits are like heels; when you wear them you instantly feel confident. Time to rock the trend of the moment and get a suit in your closet! Since this season is all about pastels, a light blue suit can do the work. The best thing is that brands like Zara and Asos have some great affordable options. Gotta love that! But what are the rules to wear a suit? Let me tell you some!

1. The most important thing while choosing a suit, is to make sure it fits well. It shouldn’t be too tight, because this will make you look bigger. Masculine is a trend that will stay forever, so rather choose something which is a little bit bigger than too tight. Especially the more affordable options don’t always have a great fit, so choose your size wisely!

2. If you have a little more to spend, than investing in a well fitted suit is a great option. Choose something you will enjoy for years. Go for classic and a good fit, something you will never get bored of and has endless styling combinations. One of the brands I love the most is SUISTUDIO, but you may know that by now ;-).

3. A suit doesn’t have to be boring or worn business wise only. Like I proof in this outfit, you can rock a suit casual with some sneakers and a simple tee as well. Or combine it with a nice sweatshirt or knit when it’s a little colder; the combinations are really endless!

Liefs! BEKIJK DE VIDEO HIER

So here it is, my first Dutch vlog! Personally I really liked to make this video because I could be ‘the real me’ for the first time and talk to you easily. I hope you totally agree with this and like this video!

This vlog is mainly about selling all my clothing on a closet sale and the preparations of it. Next to that it was beautiful weather, so I inspire you with some nice summer outfits and to-do’s when you live in a city. I say: Please watch and enjoy! Love! WATCH THE VIDEO HERE

How to make a perfect photo wall? Let us help you with our tips! My room really needed a little extra decoration, because all the white made it look quite boring. Time to cheer everything up with some cool posters from Desenio! You may have heard of Desenio before, or you remember it from this blogpost, but they have a wide assortment posters for everyones taste. From fashion to very arty or from nature to sporty; they really have everything for every interior. As you know me, I love my pink and romantic vibes, so that is how I wanted my room to look like.

I chose 10 different posters (direct links on the bottom of this post) in 4 different sizes. This gives a playful effect and makes it far from boring. To keep the rest ‘clean’, I went for all black frames. I think it totally makes the posters pop out as well, which I love. When creating a photo wall I suggest making a photo of the wall first, and start photoshopping the posters you have in mind in it. This gives you a great idea of how it will look like. Of course the end result will look a little different anyway, but at least you can see if it is a match with the rest of your interior.

When you received all your posters, you are going to order them right. If you are satisfied with the result, it is time to measure. The best and easiest way to hang everything perfectly, is to make a mall with tape on your wall first. Then you immediately know where you should make holes (after measuring this as well of course).

The frames of Desenio are super light weight, which is perfect for every wall. I didn’t used any plugs because I didn’t find it necessary, but if you want you can do this on forehand. But of course finding a right screw and get it in the right place is more important!

Last but not least, try it out and remove the tape before you hang everything. Make sure you’re satisfied with the result, but if you follow our steps you probably will! To give you a chance of upgrading your own interior, we give you a 25% discount with the code FLOORTJE. Use it at the checkout and shop your favorite posters with 3/4 of the original price. Code is valid until the 17th of May, so don’t wait too long! *excluding frames and exclusive/collaboration posters

Taking good care of our hair is crucial to keeping it strong and healthy. And while genetics play a part in the quality of our ‘do, the biggest factors are our everyday habits. Everything from how we wash it to how we style, changes the way our hair feels and behaves. So it’s about time we learn about the mistakes we all make all too common, and some ways how to fix them.

Ditch the heat

Heat damages your hair more than anything else. Every time you blow-dry, curl, iron or even wash it with water that’s too hot, you are damaging your hair more and more. But how do we survive without the heat? For starters, you should stop blow-drying every time you wash your hair and let it air-dry. If you are, however, prone to using a blow-dryer, buy one with adjustable heat settings. This way you will dry your hair faster, but with cold air. Secondly, you need to learn some new tricks. There are so many ways you can create heatless curls by simply using time, and your hair will be more than thankful. And finally, if blow-drying your hair straight isn’t enough and you really want to use an iron, make sure you are using a good amount of high-quality heat-resistant product to protect it.

Switch to new products

We’ve been hearing a lot about natural and organic care products, and the hair world is really no different. Most of the shampoos we use contain plenty of chemicals and substances that are as bad for the environment as they are for our hair. When we are using something with unnatural ingredients, it can only work to make our hair look a certain way, but it rarely feeds our hair and makes it stronger at the roots. Not to mention that some products can actually contain toxic chemicals that can make you sick! So, what is the alternative? Using high quality organic hair growth shampoo, plenty of nourishing creams and masks that you can actually make by yourself from the ingredients in your kitchen! A good rule of thumb to stick to is – if you wouldn’t eat it, don’t put it on your hair. You will notice overtime that your hair will start to regain its natural shape. It will feel stronger and softer.

Color less

We all love our crazy hair colors. We long for the eye-popping colors that make our eyes stand out or everyone turn their heads. But the simple fact is that every time you dye your hair, you are damaging it. The dye penetrates into the actual hairs and weakens them, making you experience hair loss, breaking and a rough texture. An alternative would be to use non-permanent dyes when you have a special event or you just want to change something for a couple of days. They come in forms of shampoos, waxes and sprays. They don’t damage your hair as much, because they only sit on top of it, without actually changing the structure of the hairs. If you want to dye it permanently, go for something like an ombre look. Leaving the top half natural, so that the dye doesn’t weaken the roots.

Water is not your friend

There is a heated debate whether you should listen to your hair and wash it whenever it gets dirty, or just leave it greasy and wash it as rarely as possible. No matter which side you fall on, if you’ve ever tried to brush your hair while it’s wet, you know that it breaks and falls out a lot easier than when it’s dry. So, unless you have a really good reason for wetting your hair, you should probably just use some dry shampoo and put it in a top knot. If you do wash your hair, be very gentle with it while towel-drying it. Don’t brush it until it’s dry (or if you need to untangle it wet. Do it while the conditioner is on – it will help reduce the damage).

Remember that you know your hair best and that you are in charge. Consider that your hair might not be willing to take the abuse after a while. You might experience hair loss and a severe decrease in quality. So, take care of it now and you will be able to enjoy it for a long time in the future.

No matter if you are a tourist or a local; one of the things you should have done in Amsterdam is doing a canal cruise. Some cities are better to discover by bus, but Amsterdam is definitely the best to discover by boat. We are known for our charming canals and really, that is something you shouldn’t miss! Within a month I have done two tours myself, together with Blue Boat Company. One in daytime and one at night. Might sound quite similar, but I can tell that both were such another experience!

As a local for almost 2,5 years, I think I quite know the city. But after a tour like this you learn so many interesting and new things, that it doesn’t really matter how well you know the city already. There is always something new you didn’t knew! Next to that, it is a super fun activity to spend with friends, family or even a date. Especially since Mother’s and Father’s Day is around the corner, it might be a really cool present to give to them! It is never boring and there is always something for everyone. Blue Boat Company offers many different cruises to discover Amsterdam in your favorite way. Read about my experience of the Burger Cruise and the City Cruise below!

BURGER CRUISE

For all the night owls and burger lovers; this is the cruise for you! Especially on a sunny day, it is the best way to watch the sun go down on the canals of Amsterdam. With food from the Hard Rock Cafe included by the tour, it really is a fun way to experience both Amsterdam and the Hard Rock Cafe. I mean, who doesn’t love some tasty burgers with a moving Amsterdam as your background?!

CITY CANAL CRUISE

To discover Amsterdam on any time of the day, the City Canal Cruise must be your thing. Get to know all the sight-seeing of the city in a 75 min cruise around the canals. See the hotspots from the water and dream away with the beauty of the city. No matter if the sun shines or when you have rain; it is always fun to be on a Blue Boat!

Book all the cruises from the Blue Boat Company here or visit the Amsterdam Canal Cruises website here for all-in-one ticket deals!

Maybe you planned your next trip to a sunny destination already, or maybe not in case you are a last-minute booker (like me). Either ways, it’s easy to know the best ways of packing if you are traveling this summer. You don’t want to walk about with a suitcase that is too heavy for you to handle, right? In this post you will find the right tips to travel light this summer. No more suitcases that doesn’t close, but a carry on that still has enough space for you to shop!

1. ONE SUITCASE, ONE BAG

Especially when you are on a city trip like I was here to Krakow, you often don’t take check -in luggage with you. Just a carry on is enough. Yes, it really is. When I go on a city trip with just a carry on, I always make sure to have a bigger bag with me. In this I will carry on my laptop, camera, book, water bottle and a small crossbody bag with my phone, wallet, passport etc. And in case I shop a little too-much, I can always put something extra in my bag. Next to that, I try to keep my carry-on suitcase as empty as possible. Two pairs of shoes is the max (one pair in the suitcase and one pair on your feet) as well as just one bottom which I like to mix with two tops. Take a light skirt or dress with you as well and you have enough to combine!

Turn on your JavaScript to view content

2. USE MINI’S

The heaviest thing in my suitcase is always my beauty bag. That is why I try to take only mini’s with me when I am traveling for less than a week. This doesn’t only safe you a lot of space, but is also easy in case you need to pack/unpack quick. If you make sure you always have a little bag filled with the mini’s you need, you never have to worry about packing your skincare and make-up again!

3. MAKE SETS

If you prepare your outfits well, it also safes you a lot of space and time. Like I mentioned earlier, take two tops for one bottom. Than you have two outfits, which take just one place. Make sure you can combine all your outfits with just two pairs of shoes. Wear some comfortable booties or sneakers in the plane and take some heeled sandals with you. Thank you have something for every occasion. At last, fold everything neat! This prevents from ironing everything when you unpack your suitcase and also makes that you can take a little more with you.

4. LIGHT CLOTHING

When you’re going on a summer holiday, you can really pack light. Take just one sweater or cardigan with you for on the plane or chilly evenings and keep the rest light weight. The shirt dress I am wearing here is a great example. You can wear it both during day and night time and is (almost) as light as a feather. Easy to wear with the sandals or some sneakers and with a cardigan on top for when it’s colder. Layering is the key-word when it comes to packing light!

5. YOU CAN ALSO BUY IT

Nothing nicer than shopping on a holiday. I always tell myself that, if I really miss something, I can get it there. Don’t freak out if you want a new bikini but couldn’t find it in your home town, so you take 3 old pairs with you. Keep it simple, take just one pair and maybe shop a new one on your destination. You better want to make sure you still have some space left for the travel back home!

I was wearing:

Shirt dress: Bonprix here or here

Sandals: Bonprix

Bag: Smaak Amsterdam

Earrings: Gas Bijoux

Sunglasses: Celine Marta
