I've been super busy with fun crochet things! Some of them for you to join in on now and some later!
There is currently a Giveaway goingon my YouTube Channel for a digital version of Karen Whooley's newest book, Coastal Crochet! Check it out and enter by subscribing to my YouTube channel and leaving a comment. Here's the link to the Giveaway!
I started a new feature on the YouTube channel, "FREE CROCHET PATTERN OF THE WEEK". Here are the first three free patterns I have featured so far! A new one is featured every Thursday. Click on each name below for all the details!
Also, I made a swatching video of Berroco Pixel recently! It's time to see how beautiful yarns look in action! A knit swatch photo is great but we want to see how it looks CROCHETED! Click HERE to see how this yarn looks in various crochet stitches.
Summer is speeding away! The bulk of the book is DONE! I still have more to do but all the stitching and pattern writing is complete.
Are you busy crocheting this summer? Is it time to look forward to holiday giving? Will you be making holiday gifts this year? Christmas in July has just passed, so maybe it's time! (LOL, ok, it's a bit sudden...)
Just a side note: Most of you already know how to crochet, but my contract for the Learn to Crochet Class on Annie's has expired. As a result, they are no longer sending me the questions. I don't have any control over how the customer questions are answered. So, in my mind there should be a big ole asterisk next to that class when you purchase it. If you ever need me, I'm here in the blog world, where I have been for the past 14 years or so. And now, you can find me on YouTube with comments, questions, and requests! Thanks!
In France. I'm teaching in person, in France. Won't you please join me?
So, for real. Remember a few years ago when I went to Ireland with Craftour? And we had an epic time site-seeing and crocheting?
Well, I'm doing it again! But this time we are headed to FRANCE! I'm so thrilled that this time I get to be the TEACHER! Whoohoo! My book won't quite be out by the time we go on the trip but I plan on teaching from the book or based on the concept of the book. I will be teaching twice on the trip, so I can do more than one topic! (Have a suggestion? Leave a comment!)
*Make sure you check out the 'terms and conditions' because...
*there is a DISCOUNT if you pay off the trip in full within 7-10 business days of invoice. OR
*you can register now and create a payment plan to help you finish paying on time.
*YOU can bring a FRIEND/loved one/relative whoever :) (or not!)
(Your partner is not obligated to attend the crochet class parts if he/she is not interested in crochet!)
*Most everything is included. Most food, all lodging, airfare from the US, entries into the museums that are on the itinerary, etc.
I'm using the same Craftourcompany that we used in 2016, so I KNOW first hand that they did an excellent job. They were very organized, they helped guests fly in from wherever they were. Some guests arrived early and joined us, some stayed on a few more days. Craftours handled it all professionally! We saw tons of amazing things and it was effortless. No planning, no stress, just fun.
It seems that the yarn industry is changing. But it has always been changing and always will be! I'm referring to the closing of Classic Elite Yarns, the closing of Mango Moon and Be Sweet yarns, and the sale of Tahki Stacy Charles to Webs.
The truth is, it seems the past 10 years the market has been flooded with more yarn companies than necessary for the demand. There are so many that I can't even keep up! Maybe this is just like a stock market correction and we will all go on our crafting way.
The motivation for this Monday is to roll with it!
It's too late to jump on some bandwagons so it's time to look forward and try to guess the 'next big thing' in yarn.
The best way I know to do that is to follow my inspiration and energy. It makes me even more excited about my new book because I think it's going in the RIGHT direction! Whoohoo!
Was this post vague and philosophical enough for you? LOL
