This episode begins with a chat with Dan about his upcoming attempt at the British 48hr and British/ World 6 Day record this coming week. The main event follows, an in depth interview with Charlie Harpur, recent winner of the British 100km champs, sub 3hr 50km runner and 2018 SDW100 champion.
This week, Dan and James chat to GB ultra runner Robbie Britton about his racing career and learn about the 650km run across Jordan that Robbie and Dan embark on later this week. There is an update on James’ Barkley training as well as some insights into what make the elite European runners just so good in the mountains.
This week Dan and James discuss their respective races at the Arc of Attrition 50 and recap the three new Centurion Running events launched this week. The main feature is a full interview with Kim Collison, mens winner of this years Arc of Attrition 100.
James and Dan talk to Jez Bragg one of the truly great ultra runners the UK has ever produced, about his many accomplishments from winning UTMB, what it’s like to finish on the podium and race Killian at Western States, Racing for Team GB, the ultra scene and what the future holds in store.
Episode 11 features an interview with Hardmoors Series Race Director Jon Steele. James and Dan chat to Jon about some of his incredible feats of endurance as a runner including his 52 ultras in 52 weeks back in 2012, before getting the past, present and future plans for the incredibly popular Hardmoors events that Jon organises on the North York Moors and surrounds. The chat then focuses in on this years Hardmoors 55, the awful conditions that engulfed the race late on and how Jon handled it at the time and with the intense press focus in the days that followed.
Episode 19 features what is essentially a chance to listen to a telephone call between Dan and James. They discuss the opening events of 2019 including Jasmin Paris’ and Jim Manns’ epic races at the Spine and Spine Challenger. Dan and James’ ‘races’ at Country to Capital and a look ahead into what 2019 has in store.
In this episode Dan and James start off by discussing Rocky Raccoon 100 and James’ race there, before getting in to the subject of cheating in ultra running after the third placed finisher at that event was Disqualified. The recent Arc of Attrition 100 is also covered before the main event, an interview with the remarkable Sarah Morwood who after representing GB and winning events of all distances over 2013-2015, suffered a near career ending injury in 2016. Since then Sarah has fought her way back to beyond her previous best and recently returned from 6th place finish at the Hong Kong 100km. Sarah tell’s us about her start in the sport, the accident, how she’s come back since then and what she does now to ensure she stays where she is – back at the top!
Episode 18 features an interview with the incredible Camille Herron, recorded just a few days after she set a new womens 24hr World Record of 262km at the 2018 Desert Solstice event. A slightly delayed episode due to sound quality which isn’t quite right but we hope you enjoy it nonetheless!!!
