Thanks to Enfagrow for sponsoring this content. All opinions expressed are my own

I’ve taken motherhood one step at a time, one day at a time.

Every day something changes. Every time you think you have a routine down, it is time to change it. And we just went through a big milestone….NICO TURNED ONE!

As that big ONE birthday was approaching, tons of questions came to my mind:

“What do we switch to after infant formula” “Do we drop a nap?” “Can he have X Y or Z food now?”

I’ve shared my struggles with breastfeeding. Enfamil was our go-to formula since day one until he turned one. It was recommended by our pediatrician and the hospital I delivered in. But now it was time to transition from infant formula to cow’s milk- which can lead to an 80% drop in DHA consumption. Also, as the baby’s tastes change, he might not get all the necessary nutrients he needs from his diet.

That’s the reason why we were excited to incorporate Enfagrow® NeuroPro into his diet as a convenient nutritional drink. Enfagrow is the first toddler nutritional drink that has MFGM (Milk Fat Globule Membrane) and DHA blend. These are brain nourishing components to help support brain development. It also has iron, dual prebiotics, calcium, vitamin D, zinc, and others!

I’d love to hear from you mommies. What was the biggest change when your little one turned one? I’m all ears.

Hello! Hello! I'm back!
I have been blogging for almost 10 years and I think I needed a little break. We didn't stop shooting content, I just focused on social media (big mistake!).  But this gave me time to come back more ready than ever to blog and share more of what you see on IG!

A few months ago, I shared Nico's updated nursery. We moved to a 2 bedroom apartment and it's so exciting to decorate his own little space. What you saw in that post was his sleeping area. On this side, there is the play area: with all his toys and this awesome little library I did for him.

This idea came to my mind during the baby shower the Miami bloggers threw for us. There was a little station that said "baby's first library" and guests were encourage to also bring a book. Such a cute way to start his own book collection.

All I got was these shelves from Ikea.  They also have them in white and black and in three different lengths. They are picture ledges, that way the books don't wall down- and they are only $12.99 each!

I love this idea because the baby or kid gets to see the covers of the books and pick what they want to read. I put the ones with hard pages in the bottom so he can reach those if he wants, AND the ones that are a bit more delicate on the top.

Let me know what you think!!

XOXO

Nany & Nico

¡Hola! ¡Hola!

Sponsored by Stitch Fix

Fashion was this blog’s first love  and I will always enjoy having fun with my style and different trends.  But I got to be honest, shopping has gotten a bit harder with my little one.

And this is where Stitch Fix comes to the rescue!

Stitch Fix is a personalized styling service where you fill an extensive style profile when signing up; and an expert stylist will hand-select 5 items JUST for you- based on your body type, preferred fit, budget, lifestyle, etc.

When your items arrive; you get to try everything on at the comfort of your house, keep what you love, and send back the rest in a free pre-paid envelope.

There is a $20 fee to have your curated Fix- but it applies towards anything you keep. The best part is that it isn’t a subscription service; you can receive your Fix whenever you want (every month, or if a special vacation is coming up!).

My experience:
A few years ago, I had the amazing opportunity to travel to San Francisco and visit Stitch Fix HQ. The experience was absolutely amazing, seeing how everything works.

Fast forward a few years, and this styling service feels like a lifesaver when I need new pieces to refresh up my wardrobe. I know I know, I’m a fashion blogger and I love shopping for new trends- but just like a Chef goes to other restaurants- it’s nice to not have to worry and trust another expert opinion…and WOW, she nailed my fix.

I received 5 pieces: a Rebecca Minkoff floral dress (the one I’m wearing), these Sam Edelman pink sandals, white shorts, an off-the-shoulder floral top, and a red striped tee. It also came with styling little sheet showing 2 ways to wear each item.  Everything fit just like I like, highlighting what I love! It’s super cool that they have petite, plus size, and maternity sizes in thousands of brands.

I have a feeling I’ll be wearing this dress A LOT. It shows off my curves and it’s such a fun print!

Would you try Stitch Fix?

“Sponsored by Walmart and ShopStyle”

I’ll never get tired of saying it: BE.YOUR.AUTHENTIC.SELF!

For a while I thought it was about ORIGINALITY; then I realized that nobody does it like you do. Take a trend and make it your own. Take your talent and make it YOURS.  Whatever you do; if you put your heart to it, nothing will come even close.

If you ask me for a timeless print, I’d probably say STRIPES! So how can we make them fun for Spring 2019!? For the second part of this campaign with Walmart and ShopStyle that encourages you to show your unique style from corner to corner of the country, let’s talk about how to update your favorite print without hurting your wallet. Plus, I love how Walmart has a great selection of fashionable pieces for your personal style.

So, I’m updating my stripes by:
  1. Wearing them in a fun jumpsuit. You can dress it up with heels. Make it casual with a jean jacket, and rock and roll with a leather jacket. The possibilities are endless.
  2. Adding white sneakers. I’m a big fan of white sneakers, especially when paired with unexpected stylish pieces.
  3. Playing with pastel colors, not only in the print of the jumpsuit but also by adding the pastel pink round bag!

This look was perfect for a little stroll in the Design District. Another great area in Miami where you can find delicious restaurants and cafes (and some amazing photo spots!)

What’s your favorite trend this Spring? How would you wear this jumpsuit? Let me know!

Sponsored by HydraFacial & The Motherhood. All opinions are my own.

I can’t stop talking about the importance of self-care, especially after starting your own family.  There is nothing that feels more fulfilling than spending time with my baby; but I need time for myself, to take care of me. Because: happy mama=happy baby.

Most days self-care means sweating in the gym. Some days it means a much needed mani. But a truly special self-care day means: FACIAL!

I was super excited to try the HydraFacial experience at Skin by Tatum- and feel my skin healthy and glowy....spoiler: it was everything I expected AND MORE!!!

HydraFacial is an invigorating treatment that delivers skin-health in as little as 30 minutes. It removes dead skin cells and extracts impurities. It can also be personalized to meet the needs of your specific skin type.

As soon as I arrived to Skin by Tatum, I got an amazing skin analysis in order to personalize my HydraFacial to my specific needs. This treatment addresses all skincare needs like: fine lines, wrinkles, texture, brown spots, enlarged pores, elasticity, and more!

One of my main problems was hydration (yes, yes I need to drink more water) and dark spots for not using as much sunscreen as I should.  I instantly noticed improved hydration, and more of an even tone (with a glow OUT OF THIS WORLD!!) with no discomfort.

The HydraFacial machine has tips with a unique spiral design that provides non-invasive skin resurfacing and temporary pore opening to effectively cleanse, exfoliate and extract impurities evenly without damaging the skin while ALSO delivering serums to the skin.

STEP #1 Cleanse + Peel.
It removes dead skin cells and sebum. This allows the skin to reflect more light and appear brighter and healthier. This step uses a mix of salicylic and glycol acids to help loosen deep pore debris and dirt to prevent the formation of the pustules involved in acne.

STEP #2 Extract + Hydrate.
Provides strong vacuum suction to remove blackheads and other impurities.

STEP #3 Fuse + Protect.
Delivers a Pro antioxidant formula with potent peptides to restore healthy skin structure and function.

Right after my facial, I had an event. And the best part of this treatment is that you can return to your normal activities after. I put a little concealer, mascara, and my eyebrows…because it was a blogger event. But my skin felt SO amazing that no foundation was needed and I kept getting compliments about my skin.

One treatment per month is recommended to continue improving your results, and I want to be back as soon as possible!

Are you as excited as I was for this treatment?

Nico's first flight!!!

I'm definitely no expert when it comes to flying but Nico has already been to Mexico, New York and California. Before his first flight in October, I asked on IG stories if you all amazing mamas had some tips for me.  The response was incredible, I tried to saved whatever we thought would work for us and now it's my turn to share what we implemented.

I hope they can be useful to any first-time moms out there.

WHEN BOOKING:
- Try to book the flight around his nap times if the flight is relatively short. If the flight is to Europe, for example, I've read it is better to book an overnight flight.

- If you are a small family of three, like us, when selecting the seats, pick an aisle and a window seat. If the flight isn't full, there might be a possibility that nobody will pick the middle seat...and you have to whole row for you! We did this and it worked! If the flight is full, I'm sure that person will be thrilled you are switching them from a middle seat to a window seat.

- If you are traveling nationally, there isn't any fee for a baby that's traveling in your lap. However, always call the airline. For our trip to Mexico, we had to play a 10% of our flight for taxes.

- Also if the flight isn't full, you might be able to bring the carseat with you inside the plane. This is also, of course, safer for your baby.

WHEN PACKING:
Have your documents ready. For national flight, we weren't asked to show any proof of age but we also had his passport with us.

When flying with a baby, you get an extra personal item (aka the diaper bag). So here are my recommendations on what to bring:
- DIAPERS: Add enough diapers for the length of the flight and extra for any surprises (like delays or poopy explosions!).
- Diaper cream and wipes, of course!

- An extra shirt for me and one for my husband- again, just in case any spit-ups that can ruin your travel look.

- I added a few layers for my baby- just in case the plane go too cold or too hot. I dressed him in a short-sleeve onesie but I brought pants, socks, a cozy jacket, and a little blanket. We ended up using it all since it was cold at the airport but hot inside the plane.

- Bring some of his favorite toys and some he/she hasn't seen before; that way you can entertain them easily during the flight.

- If you can, bring the baby carrier. It's extremely useful even when the baby is sleeping in the plane.

FOOD-WISE:
- On your diaper bag, you can bring formula, baby food, AND water without any issues (yes, WATER!). The TSA crew will carefully check your bag but it is acceptable to bring food and water if you are traveling with a baby. Give yourself 15 min of extra time for this check.

- If you need to pump, major airports have areas where you can pump privately.
- Same with breastfeeding. I'm all for publicly feedings, BUT if you need some privacy...there are areas you can do it.

PRE-FLIGHT:
- Besides the diaper bag, you are allowed to check an item at the counter and another one  right before entering the plane. Regularly, you check the carseat at the counter and the stroller in the gate.  If you can only check the one at the gate, do so.  The items are not treated as well as they should as baggage.

- When going through TSA, you can wear your baby with the baby carrier, and you don't need to take it off. But some airlines might request you to take it off during take-off and landing.

- Check if you have early boarding- most airlines let you go inside the plane early so you can get settled with your little one.

- Try to tire your baby before boarding so your baby is ready to sleep as soon as you take off.

DURING THE FLIGHT:
- During take off and landing, make sure the baby is on the boob, with a pacifier or the bottle. This helps with the ear discomfort. This is probably the most important tip on this trip.

- You can ask the flight attendants to warm baby bottles. We didn't do it personally but this service is there for you.

- Changing tables are tiny inside the plane; so if you can, change your baby right before boarding and as soon as you land (of course, if timing permits!)

- Keep calm if your baby is crying, don't worry about anybody else. It happens and the calmer you are the calmer your baby be.

- The engines work as white- noise, that's why babies fall asleep relatively easy on planes.

AFTER-FLIGHT:
- Get ready to adjust his routine.  If there is any time difference, add a quick nap or put him down to sleep earlier. Nico never noticed the 3 hour difference when coming and going to LA.
- When you arrive, request an UBER XL because of all the luggage, stroller/carseat, etc.

Hope this is all helpful and please add your tips below!

“Sponsored by Walmart and ShopStyle”

When I started blogging, in a time that feels like another lifetime ago, my main goal was to inspire you to express your personality with fashion, and to always have fun with trends.

When I was approached by Walmart and ShopStyle for this campaign, I was so excited to say yes. We Dress America not only encourages you to showcase your unique style but also celebrates fashion for all, from corner to corner of the country, all shapes, sizes and colors!

However, keeping up with the current trends doesn’t have to hurt your pocket. As I checked Walmart Fashion, I was impressed by the versatile selection of brands and current styles!

I was drawn to so many pieces. But let’s talk about this look first! This season I’m loving the Utility Trend; that includes animal print and camo print!  I got these camo pants; and they are so easy to dress up or down.

But hey, to keep it real and authentic .. I’m a mom of a little dude that’s getting ready to walk, I’m all for comfort. So, I decided to pair these camo pants with a simple tee, the coolest sunnies, comfortable sneakers, and clear backpack (everything from Walmart too, you can check the exact brands in the “Get the Look” section below!!).

We headed to one of our favorite areas in Miami: WYNWOOD!
It’s such an inspiring neighborhood with street art in every corner, galleries, and delicious food spots. We stopped by Zak The Baker- the most delicious bakery with the most delicious banana bread!

What’s your favorite trend this Spring? Let me know!

Nowadays we get bombarded with baby products- and they keep getting more and more expensive, more technological, and full of promises. Reason why today I want to share 5 expensive baby products...and are they worth it?

___________________

1) DOCK-A-TOT ($195)

What is it?
The Dock-A-Tot is a multi-use lounger where your baby can sleep, play, rest, do tummy time and get his/her diaper changes. It's designed to feel like the womb.

PROS
- Very useful. When our baby was really little, we would use day and night. I would take it to the living room...or even to the bathroom with me!
- It's great for safe co-sleeping.
- Easy to transport. We took it with us for our first big trip to Mexico, and Nico really felt like home.
- Easy to wash.
- Comes in the most gorgeous prints.

CONS:
- Durability.  The Deluxe+ lasts until the baby is around 8 months. But we only used it until Nico was 5 months.
- There is a lot of controversy about its safety. Some mamas say it shouldn't be used inside a regular crib, and some that it shouldn't spend the night inside it either.
- It requires at least another cover (just in case of any emergency) and it's definitely an added cost.
- If you want to continue using it, you have to purchase the grand - that lasts until the baby is 3 years old.

2) MAMA ROO ($249)

What is it?
The Mama Roo is considered an electric swing that comes with different types of movements and speeds. It also has the option to add white noise or baby music to help them sleep better during naps.

PROS
- It helps calm a little baby if you are busy and cannot hold it. I used it when pumping. I would put Nico in front of me and pump.
- You can adjust the inclination so the baby can be in a sit position or sleep position.

CONS:
- Big and heavy.
- It might create movement dependency. All sleeping courses recommend you avoiding electric swings since in the long run, it makes the baby dependent to swinging.
- It last around 6 months (until the baby reaches 25 pounds).

It didn't really work for us. Nico didn't like being there for more than 15 minutes. He actually prefer it when it didn't swing.

I know some moms absolutely love it; it depends on the baby but it was a big-no for us.

3) DOONA STROLLER ($499)

What is it?
It's a stroller that turns into a car-seat.

PROS
- Convenient.
- Great for traveling. Especially because airlines accept two pieces (one at check in and one at the gate); so you can take the stroller until the gate and avoid any damage to the second piece.
- It comes with a carseat base but it is not necessary if you are running around in an uber.
- For our baby, it was more comfortable than the Britax carseat.
- Everyone is amazing at how easy it is to transform it to/from a carseat.
- If the baby falls asleep in the car, you don't have to wake him to take him out of the carseat.

CONS:
- It only lasts around a year since the baby must be under 35 pounds and 32 inches. I regret not getting it since day one.
- More expensive that other strollers.
- No space to hang the diaper bag.
- You can get extra accessories, but that of course also adds to the final cost of the stroller.

We personally love it and think it's 100% worth it.

4) SNOO ($1,295)

What is it?
It is a gorgeous bassinet that moves to encourage longer baby sleep.

PROS
- It's absolutely beautiful.  Anyone who sees this bassinet falls in love with the modern and gender neutral design.
- Since it moves, it comes with an integrated swaddle that are also recommended for longer sleep.
- Easy to assemble.
- Thanks to the movement, baby sleeps better and longer.
- It connects to an app where you can track sleep times, quality of sleep, etc.
- The website where it's sold offers great discounts frequently. We got it 60% off during President's day.
- Great customer service.

CONS:
- The basinet moves ALL night. I thought it would swing when the baby cried, but it actually moves faster and faster as the baby cries...it never stops moving.
- I personally believe it creates movement dependency. This made me stop using it. I was worried about the transition to the big crib when he would be older. We only used it for 1 months and I definitely think it made my baby need rocking for sleep.
- It only comes with a swaddle of each size . I recommended getting at least two, in case of any diaper spills or spit ups.

I personally do not think it's worth it. Either way you need a bigger crib AND you will end up with a spoiled baby. It feels like a band-aid for a bigger issue.

5) ERGOBABY CARRIER 360 ($160)

What is it?
The Ergobaby is an ergonomic carrier that you can use to hold your baby from day 1 to 48 months.

PROS
- Easy to put on.
- Different styles and colors. Ours is made of breathable mesh, perfect for the Miami weather.
- Lumbar support.
- It grows with your baby.
- You can use it in four different positions (back, front, on your back, and hip).

CONS:
It really don't have any cons. Only that it is on the expensive side.
