The recent roll out of Six Plus Hold’em at BetOnline Poker is now being enhanced by a special promotion that puts players into seats of freeroll tournaments.
The Six Plus Hold’em freerolls are held each evening at 8:00 p.m ET and tickets are available by completing a mission. That mission requires playing at least 100 raked hands on cash game tables of standard Texas Hold’em.
If you’re asking yourself why BetOnline doesn’t just require players to compete at Six Plus Hold’em cash games in order to earn tickets to the Six Plus Hold’em freeroll tournaments, it’s because the Bad Beat Jackpot is nearing $450,000 and many players are reluctant to leave the Texas Hold’em BBJ tables for fear of missing out on a potential huge jackpot. Six Plus Hold’em games are currently not included in BBJ action.
Win up to 5 Tickets Daily!
The missions promo is kind of cool in that you can earn from one to five tickets to the nightly freerolls – provided that you rake 100 cash game hands at a particular stake level in the 24-hour period fixed at 6:00 a.m. to 5:59 a.m. ET. Here are the stake levels and the accompanying prize pools of the five nightly Six Plus Hold’em freeroll tournaments.
Keep in mind that you can’t play 50 hands at one stake level and 50 at another level to earn a freeroll ticket. The 100 raked hands must be played at each individual stake level to earn a Six Plus Hold’em freeroll ticket.
Play 100 raked hands at $0.05/$0.10 and another 100 hands at $0.10/$0.25 within the allotted time period and you win tickets to both freerolls. You can earn a ticket to all five if you’re a serious grinder!
Freeroll Tickets Expire
There is no opting in required and freeroll tickets earned will be credited to your account. However, you have to register and play in the Six Plus Hold’em freeroll tournaments on the same day that the 24-hour period expires – or else you will lose the ticket(s).
The freerolls will not play out until a winner emerges. There is a one hour time limit on each Six Plus Hold’em freeroll tournament, with payouts distributed to players in accordance with their remaining chip stacks. This gives you a taste of Short Deck Poker action without distracting you too long from the BBJ tables.
For those players unaware, BetOnline Poker’s BBJ policy is to reward all players competing at the Bad Beat Jackpot tables whenever the jackpot hits – even if you’re not actually seated at the table where it happens. That’s a huge reason why players are so incentivized to play Texas Hold’em BBJ rather than check out the new Six Plus Hold’em game.
Recent Roll Out
BetOnline launched Short Deck Poker late last month on its cash game tables. The variant has since been added to the tournament lobby at small buy-ins from $1 to $5 under a re-entry format. For a limited time, those Six Plus Hold’em tournaments on the schedule will be run rake-free, giving players an excellent opportunity to check the game out if they haven’t yet played it.
Getting back to the nightly freerolls, please be cognizant that since the events last only one hour, late registration isn’t permitted. It’s best to be logged in, registered, and ready to play once 8:00 p.m. rolls around.
As you can see, there is plenty going on at BetOnline Poker. The launch of Six Plus Hold’em, a missions promo to support the launch, and a Bad Beat Jackpot that keeps growing. Not to mention the ability to place a few sports bets as well, an activity that is gaining much more acceptance following the recent US Supreme Court decision that overturned the ban.
US poker sites are looking to increase the volume of players using Bitcoin by offering special bonuses and promotions over the festive season.
The price of Bitcoin has made a recovery since it hit $3,200 a couple of weeks ago and is currently trading near $4,000. Many analysts are predicting the price has hit rock bottom, that the recovery will continue, and that there will be a significant price increase over the next twelve months – although opinions vary by how much.
The recovery is good news for investors holding Bitcoin from before last year´s peak, and for those who jumped in when the price fell last month – and the potential for further gains has not been lost on USA poker sites, who are offering special Bitcoin bonuses and promotions over the festive season. Here´s my snapshot of what´s on offer.
Enhanced First Deposit Bonuses for Bitcoin Depositors
Americas Cardroom was the first mainstream online poker site to provide players with the facility to deposit and withdraw using Bitcoin in 2014. Three years later, the site extended its cashier to accept more than sixty different currencies. The facility was subsequently extended to all sites affiliated with the Winning Poker Network (Black Chip Poker, True Poker, and Ya Poker).
Now, for a limited time only, these four sites are offering new players the opportunity to take advantage of a 200% bonus on first deposits up to $1,000 (instead of 100%) when they first fund their accounts using Bitcoin. Because the bonus is available network-wide, it means if you already have an account with (say) Americas Cardroom, you can create a new account with (say) Black Chip Poker in order to take advantage of the promotion. Please note Ya Poker does not accept players from the USA.
$10,000 Freeroll Tournament for Bitcoin Depositors
Over at BetOnline Poker, the site has a tremendous offer for both new and existing players. Simply make a deposit of $20 or more via one of the site´s accepted cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Dash, Litecoin, or Ethereum) and you will be awarded a seat in a freeroll tournament taking place on Sunday 6th January with a $10,000 prize pool. There is no specific bonus code to use in order to take advantage of this promotion, but your qualifying deposit must be made before midnight on December 31st.
If you are new to BetOnline and enjoy betting on sports, you also have the opportunity to take advantage of a special first deposit offer when you deposit using cryptocurrency. New players are eligible to claim a 100% bonus on their first deposit up to $1,000 (instead of 50% up to $1,000 for fiat currencies), while existing players can increase their lifetime sports betting deposit bonus from 25% to 35% by reloading their accounts via one of BetOnline´s accepted cryptocurrencies.
Bitcoin Bonuses for Casino Action at Bovada and Ignition
Bovada and Ignition are not offering Bitcoin poker bonuses this year. Instead they are continuing their Bitcoin promotions for first time depositors at their online casinos and sportsbook. Only Bovada operates a sportsbook at present, so the bonus offers are a little different from each other:
Bovada is offering a three-times-use 150% bonus on Bitcoin casino deposits up to $1,500, and a 50% bonus up to $500 on Bitcoin sportsbook deposits.
Ignition is offering a one-time-use 200% bonus on Bitcoin casino deposits up to $2,000 – whereas new players depositing via fiat currencies only receive a 100% bonus up to $1,000.
How to Take Advantage of these Opportunities
If you are not familiar with buying cryptocurrencies and using them to fund online accounts, each of the sites mentioned above have a comprehensive online guide to help you. Their customer service teams are also familiar with helping players deposit via cryptocurrencies; so, if you encounter any issues, do not hesitate to get in touch with them and take advantage of their experience and expertise.
It´s also worth remembering that, when you make a deposit at an online poker site with a cryptocurrency, the dollar value is what is credited to your account. It doesn´t matter whether the price of Bitcoin subsequently increases or falls – your dollar value stays the same. Obviously, US poker sites are clearly hoping the price rises, or they would not be offering such great Xmas incentives!
SwC Poker, formerly known as Seals With Clubs, is planning to roll out new software that’ll support four different platforms including mobile, not just Windows.
The upgrade will permit PC, Mac, Android, and HTML5 users to log on and play at SwC Poker. Expanding its range of potential customers by supporting new platforms will likely increase player traffic at the Bitcoin-friendly poker site.
The software reboot was previously set to take place on October 22, but site administrators have pushed the launch date back one week to October 29. The new software is currently in the beta testing stage, with a select group of loyal SwC players chosen to play poker and provide feedback before the launch becomes official.
Brief History of SwC Poker
The software update is being referred to as SwC 3.0, as it will be the third iteration since the poker room first launched as Seals With Clubs in 2012. A couple of years after the initial launch, principal owner Bryan Micon found himself in hot water with Nevada gaming regulators as he was a Las Vegas resident operating an online poker site that wasn’t sanctioned by the state.
Seals With Clubs was forced to shut down, Micon accepted a plea deal, and promptly moved his family to Antigua in 2015 where he obtained the required licensing and relaunched a 2.0 version of the poker room as SwC Poker. The site has continued operating ever since with a loyal group of players from around the world – the US included – who prefer the advantages of playing online poker using the world’s most popular cryptocurrency – Bitcoin.
SwC Poker remains the only standalone poker site in the industry that uses Bitcoin exclusively, and provides no banking functions. It’s up to players to deposit Bitcoin onto the site from their crypto wallets. Likewise, all withdrawals are sent to players’ crypto wallets at the addresses provided.
The system works extremely well, removing the burden of payment processing from site administrators. With such payment headaches out of the equation, SwC Poker is able to take lower rake amounts from pots and tournament fees, and it makes for safety of funds as SwC simply facilitates player deposits and withdrawals via Bitcoin.
Smoother Functions, New Satellites
SwC Poker 3.0 is set to include a new codebase that will allow the poker client to run more smoothly and avoid crashes and player disconnects. Losing connection during a hand has long been the bane of poker players throughout the industry – not just at SwC Poker.
The current Krill rakeback system at SwC Poker that permits even brand new players to earn rakeback will continue. Other changes resulting from the upgrade include new satellite tournaments and a restructuring of the chip to Bitcoin ratio.
Previously, 1,000 chips equalled 1 BTC at SwC. Following the 3.0 launch, 1 Bitcoin will be equivalent to 1,000,000 chips. Players are reminded to reset their passwords via email after the upgrade takes effect.
Variety of Games
SwC Poker’s uniqueness doesn’t end with its Bitcoin-only format. The poker room spreads a number of poker variants not typically seen elsewhere.
Games like Open Face Chinese Poker, Courchevel Hi/Lo 8-or-Better, Razz and Badeucy are just some of the different offerings available. Those variants can typically be found on both cash game and tournament tables at different stake levels.
Another advantage at SwC Poker is the relative anonymity at which players can log on and play. All that’s required is an email address to create an account. Players are free to transfer funds to each other and open a new account at any time.
SwC likens the situation to that of a live poker room where players sit down at a poker table without having to reveal their name or anything about themselves if they so choose. Simply bring your own Bitcoin and play!
Winning Poker Network CEO Phil Nagy stated recently that deposits and withdrawals via cryptocurrencies account for 60% of the action at WPN sites that include Americas Cardroom and Black Chip Poker, up from just 2% three years ago.
WPN is at the forefront of poker networks that allow players to deposit and cashout using Bitcoin and other altcoins. More than 60 different cryptocurrencies are accepted at WPN, by far more than any other poker rooms or networks take on.
At the helm of WPN operations since 2011, Nagy is totally sold on crypto coins and blockchain technology, telling IGB Live that cryptocurrency can and will revolutionize how we all do business in the future. His network was among the first to adopt Bitcoin in facilitating transactions.
Nagy cited the many advantages of payment processing via virtual currencies. The benefits include speedier and less costly transactions.
The CEO tossed around numbers such as 13%-22% fees attached to credit card usage and 9%-12% when moving funds with Western Union or MoneyGram. The costs associated with cryptocurrency transactions are about 3%.
Another advantage of dealing in crypto coins instead of credit cards is that no money is lost in chargebacks. Players who make a deposit by credit card and lose the money at the tables will sometimes stop payment after the bill arrives. As an unregulated US-friendly poker network, WPN has little recourse of collecting in such instances.
Yet another bonus of cryptocurrency usage is larger deposit limits. That’s likely more important to high rollers, and not as much for recreational players. However, Nagy stated that cryptocurrency users tend to deposit more on average.
While the advantages of using cryptocurrency as a poker room operator are many, of course there may be a few disadvantages as well. There is the threat of fraud and money laundering, with many critics believing that Bitcoin attracts the criminal element due to its near anonymity in conducting transactions. Perhaps the biggest concern is the volatility in price fluctuation that Bitcoin and other altcoins are subject to.
WPN has taken steps to deal with that issue to keep from taking a big loss should the cryptocurrency market take a huge dive in the future, as some so-called experts have predicted. However, it works both ways when it comes to the current rate of Bitcoin and other virtual currencies. The price can go up as well, as we saw just a few months ago when the value of one Bitcoin reached almost $20,000.
While it may not actually fall under the category of a disadvantage or drawback, it has taken a considerable effort on the part of WPN to educate players on how to become a Bitcoin or crypto user. The poker network has devoted plenty of content via blogs and videos to educate the masses on making deposits and withdrawing in cryptocurrency.
Nagy called it an uphill battle at times, but the end result of 60% crypto coin usage is quite impressive. It’s likely that the percentage of virtual currency users at WPN and other poker and gambling sites will continue to rise in the future as adoption among the mainstream deepens.
A revamped weekend tournament schedule at US-friendly BetOnline Poker features a bonanza of events that total more than $250,000 in guaranteed prize money, including the popular $50,000 GTD at 7:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, which is boosted to a $100K guarantee on the last Sunday of every month.
The new schedule is a boon to online poker players in the US who like the typically soft action that BetOnline is known for. If you’re seated at a bad Beat Jackpot table (designated as such with a yellow star) and you lose a hand with quad jacks or better (currently), you’re in for some riches. Even if you’re simply playing at the table when the BBJ is hit you can expect a hefty bankroll boost.
Here are the scheduled payouts to all BBJ players when someone loses with four of a kind in jacks (currently) or better:
20% of Jackpot to player with the bad beat
5% of Jackpot to the winner of the hand
5% of Jackpot split among other players at the table
5% of Jackpot split among players at all BBJ tables
30% of Jackpot seeded into the next BBJ
5% of the Jackpot for administrative fees
Players need to remember that the qualifying hand to hit the BBJ changes, as it’s progressive. Its quad jacks at the moment. Check the banners at the BBJ tables to know what you need to qualify for the Jackpot.
Remember too that the progressive BBJ is growing by the minute and could hit $1,000,000 or more someday!
If you want even more exciting poker action in addition to the new MTT schedule and Bad Beat Jackpot, BetOnline Poker has also introduced Bounty Tournaments. It’s the latest craze in online poker because you win money everytime you send a player to the rail.
The more players you knockout, the more money you make – and that’s in addition to the prize pool money. Simply look for the events designated with a “K” in the tournament lobby, and start KO’ing your opponents!
With the revamped weekend tournament schedule, the exciting Bad Beat Jackpot, and a selection of Bounty Tournaments, it’s a great time to play poker at BetOnline.
One of the biggest reasons that some players have turned their backs on online poker is the lack of trust regarding safety of funds. That fear is eliminated with the advent of blockchain technology and smart contracts that remove online poker operators from the role of payment processing.
Let’s face it. Online poker history is replete with instances of players losing their money to poker rooms that either ran off with the cash or mismanaged the funds entrusted to them by players.
Lock Poker and Full Flush Poker are two of the most recent examples in which players lost tens of millions of dollars. But the problem actually goes way back to 2001 when PokerSpot left players holding the bag for almost half a million in cash.
Add to that the debacle of Black Friday in 2011 when the US government seized the domains of the major poker sites catering to American players and the resulting realization that Full Tilt owners so badly mishandled player funds and its no wonder some players have become jaded toward online poker. At least all players were eventually reimbursed for their losses with regard to Black Friday.
But the days of fear of losing funds to shady operators may soon be over thanks to the 2018 buzzwords of cryptocurrencies, blockchain technology and smart contracts.Crypto poker sites employing the use of all three will no longer be in charge of player funds, removing the operators from the equation and keeping all financial transactions between the players themselves.
How Blockchains Work
A blockchain can best be described as a digital ledger that records transactions over a network of computers without a centralized third-party or authority such as a bank holding control. Fraudulent activity or tampering is impossible, as the computer network rejects any transactions that don’t jibe with the rest.
A person who wants to transfer (or pay for a product or service) cryptocurrency such as Bitcoin to another person simply submits the transaction over the network via their personal wallets. The transaction is then verified, with network computers updating the ledger accordingly.
Without a middleman or bank involved in the process, funds are completely safe and secure. An added benefit is the reduction in cost, as no third party receives a fee for payment processing services.
Bitcoin was the first of the cryptocurrencies to use the blockchain. There are now hundreds of other altcoins such as Ethereum and Ripple employing the same technology. The use of blockchains doesn’t begin and end with cryptocurrencies, however, as the technology can be utilized for anything that holds value.
The Ethereum blockchain expanded on the groundwork laid by the Bitcoin blockchain by creating smart contracts that function as self-executed agreements between buyers and sellers. The contracts control how transactions are processed and can also include future transactions to be completed at some point in time agreed upon by the parties involved.
In the case of online poker, smart contracts come into play when you enter a tournament. The buy-in will be sent from your personal digital wallet to the smart contract specified for that tournament. The buy-ins of all the players are held in escrow, with the prize pool to be distributed to the digital wallets of the winners in accordance with the established payouts of the tournament.
The poker site never actually touches the money, acting rather as a host for the tournament, with the rake or fees for entering the event sent to the wallet of the poker room as agreed to in the smart contract. Players will never deposit funds onto the poker site, relying instead on the impenetrable blockchain for safety of funds.
For cash games, the smart contract works in virtually the same way. Players agree to sit at a table with their preferred or agreed upon amount of funds to play with and under the parameters of the table rules with regard to bet sizes and game type, etc. Upon leaving the table, any money won or whatever funds remain will be sent back to that player’s digital wallet. The blockchain ensures that all transactions are traceable and irreversible.
Several poker sites have begun using blockchain technology and smart contracts, as well as their own virtual currencies. CoinPoker, Virtue Poker, Acebusters and Cryptonia Poker are all in various stages of production and launch, aiming to revolutionize online poker in so doing.
The new poker rooms hope to win players over via blockchain technology and smart contracts. Players will no longer have to rely on faith that the poker sites will take good care of their funds and pay out winnings when necessary. The sites are never actually entrusted with players’ money – the players themselves control all transactions.
Virtue Poker, an Ethereum-based poker site that has been in development since 2015, has announced its upcoming future plans that include phase 1 of selling its poker tokens (VPPs) on April 25, with a phase 2, if any, to be determined at a later date.
The VPPs will eventually be traded on exchanges as cryptocurrency, but that won’t occur until the poker room fully launches on the Ethereum main net, expected to be sometime in Q4 of this year. The buyers of the tokens during phase 1 will be limited to those who intend to play on the site during the alpha and beta testing periods that begin on May 22 and tokens should not be purchased by those looking for a speculative investment.
Token purchases during Phase 1 on April 25 will be conducted as a simple sale in which 100 million tokens will be made available, with a minimum price of $0.06 and a maximum of $0.125 per token. The price varies because it will be determined at the conclusion of the sale by dividing the total pledged by 100 million, according to the Virtue Poker website.
Token Buyers Must Pass a Test
Those 100 million tokens of Phase 1 during the Early Adopter Sale are 20% of the allotted total of 500 million. The next 100 million VPPs will be available during Phase 2, with the remaining 60% of tokens set aside in various percentages for the founders (17.2%), advisors (4%), strategic partnerships (18.8%), and token reserves (20%).
The sale will conclude when $12.5 million USD in Ethereum is raised or after 14 days. The entire sale will be canceled if $5 million is not reached.
Those who intend to acquire tokens during Phase 1 must first pass a General Assessment Test designed to weed out potential buyers who lack a solid grasp of the technology behind Virtue Poker and the Ethereum blockchain on which it will operate.
Virtue and Integrity
That technology, as described by Virtue Poker founders, will revolutionize online poker due to the smart contracts on the Ethereum blockchain that will guarantee the security of player funds and make every hand dealt totally fair via card shuffling that involves all the players at the table.
Virtue Poker will never have control of player money and winnings will be sent directly to the digital wallets of players upon their exit from the game.
Joseph Lubin, one of the site’s strategic advisors and the co-founder of Ethereum, stated:
By enabling players to be in full control of their assets except in the moments that they are held in escrow by a smart contract, and by creating a framework within which shuffles are provably fair, Virtue Poker ups the ante regarding user-friendliness and security for the online poker and gaming industry,
Virtue Poker has also tabbed Phil Ivey, Dan Colman and Brian Rast as advisors.
Buyers of tokens during the Early Adopter Sale will have the opportunity to provide suggestions and feedback after playing during the testing periods. VP founders envision those token holders to be quite active as contributors to Virtue poker’s development and growth.
Players within the US will not be permitted to be part of Phase 1, but it is anticipated that Virtue Poker will be available stateside after all legalities are ironed out.
Despite being primarily a US-facing poker site, BetOnline Poker has chosen to call its first tournament series the Global Online Poker Series (GOPS) to reflect the site´s world-wide appeal. The series itself is modest, but plenty of opportunities exist for players to qualify cheaply for the $200,000 Main Event.
It seems incredible that, after so many years of providing a service to online poker players, this will be BetOnline Poker´s first tournament series – but it is true! The Global Online Poker Series gets underway next Sunday (March 11th) and features a modest schedule of eighteen events over the following week, guaranteeing a minimum of $532,000 in prize money.
Although the series itself may be modest, there is plenty in the schedule to attract the interest of players – particularly the $250 buy-in Main Event on Sunday March 18th, which not only has a $200,000 guaranteed prize pool (BetOnline Poker´s most valuable guarantee ever), but which offers a range of innovative qualifying paths starting at freeroll level.
The Global Online Poker Series Schedule
The Global Online Poker Series schedule consists of two tournaments each day over the first six days, with three tournaments on the final Saturday and Sunday. Although mostly consisting of re-entry or re-buy and add-on events, the late registration periods are fairly short, so the freezeout element of each tournament will start much earlier than in some big tournament series.
Re-Buy & Add-On
Re-Buy & Add-On
6-Max Turbo R&A
Re-Buy & Add-On
Re-Buy & Add-On
6-Max PL Omaha
Re-Buy & Add-On
Unusually BetOnline Poker is not supporting the Global Online Poker Series with a satellite schedule. Instead it is hosting multiple Sit & Go qualifiers, which – for the lower buy-in events – are winner takes all “All-In” Sit & Go games of between four and twelve players. The bigger buy-in events have Steps programs supporting them; which – for the Main Event – starts at freeroll level.
Multiple Ways to Satellite into the Main Event
The winner-takes all “All-In” Sit & Go games feeding into the Main Event have not yet caught the imagination of players – possibly due to their buy-ins of $25.00 and $50.00, and their coinflip nature. Furthermore, there are many other, more practical ways to invest up to $50.00 if you want to satellite into the GOPS Main Event. These include:
Daily $33.00 buy-in satellites at 5:00pm (PT)/8:00pm (ET) guaranteeing three seats for the target event.
Five-times-daily $22.00 buy-in Re-Buy and Add-On satellites guaranteeing two seats for the target event.
From March 12th-16th, time-limited satellites with a $25.00 buy-in guaranteeing one seat for the target event.
On Sunday March 11th at 9:00am (PT)/12:00noon (ET), a $55.00 buy-in Mega-Satellite guaranteeing fifty seats for the target event.
The freeroll route into the Main Event starts on Friday March 16th, when BetOnline Poker will be hosting a freeroll tournament guaranteeing twenty seats into a turbo “Step 1” 6-Max Sit & Go satellite. The winners of Step 1 satellites qualify for “Step 2” 5-Max Sit & Go satellites, which feed into “Step 3” 5-Max Sit & Go satellites. The winner of each Step 3 satellite will win a seat in the Main Event. Each of the Steps can be bought into directly for the buy-ins of $3.00, $15.00 and $60.00.
Qualify Early for the GOPS Main Event
Although the coinflip Sit & Go games may not yet have taken off, there are some great opportunities to qualify for the GOPS Main Event via undersubscribed satellites currently running at BetOnline Poker. Take advantage of these satellites while the opportunity exists by visiting the site today; and, if you have not already funded your account, read our review of BetOnline Poker to see how you could be eligible for an exclusive 200% bonus on your first deposit.
The Winning Poker Network´s OSS Cub3d series is the most valuable online poker tournament series accessible by players in the US. The next series starts on Sunday February 25th and features six tournaments with guarantees of $1 million or more among a comprehensive schedule guaranteeing more than $15 million in total.
Back in September 2016, the Winning Poker hosted its first OSS Cub3d tournament series – a combination of its existing Mini and regular Online Super Series, with the addition of a new Bigger Online Super Series. The series consisted of 140 events and was guaranteed for just over $4.5 million.
Nearly eighteen months on, the Network has released details of its fifth OSS Cub3d series – now with nearly 200 tournaments and more than $15 million guaranteed in prize money. Although the distinction between the Mini, regular and Bigger series has all but disappeared, this is not necessarily a bad thing. It means there will be something for everyone during the four weeks of action.
Important Dates for Your Diary
OSS Cub3d V will run continuously from Sunday February 25th until Sunday March 25th. There is a minimum of five feature tournaments every day during the first three weeks (the schedule for the final week is yet to be released) and a colossal amount of money on the tables each weekend. For example, the opening Sunday´s action features eight tournaments worth nearly $1.5 million in total.
Over the second weekend of action players can take part in a Million Dollar Sunday, the $500,000 guaranteed MOSS Main Event, a $150,000 guaranteed Warm Up event with a $22.00 buy-in and a Super-Satellite to a $5,000 buy-in Cage Event that takes place on Wednesday 21st March. Skip forward two weeks, and look at this for a line-up on Sunday 18th March:
8 Max NL Hold´em
5 Hours Late Reg
Million Dollar Sunday
OSS Main Event
8 Max NL Hold´em
8 Max NL Hold´em
Hyper Super Knockout
Although the schedule for the following week has yet to be released, the Network has announced that there will be two $1 million guaranteed tournaments on Sunday 25th March – the regular Million Dollar Sunday event and a $2,100 buy-in BOSS Main Event. Low buy-in satellites for many of the feature events in the OSS Cub3d series are already underway at .
An Incentive Not to Skip the Midweek Events
Although many players will look at the seven-figure guarantees and plan their action around the Sunday tournaments, there is a good reason not to ignore the midweek events in the OSS Cub3d series. While the OSS Cub3d series is underway, Black Chip Poker will be hosting three leaderboard competitions – each awarding the top ten players entries into the following four weeks´ Million Dollar Sunday events.
To finish in one of the top ten positions on each leaderboard, you will likely need to play some of the midweek events. Indeed, it could be in your best interests to focus outside of the big weekend tournaments, and concentrate on reaching the business end of smaller tournaments – at least until you win one of the highly-coveted prizes. The dates between which the three leaderboard competitions will run are:
February 25th to March 4th.
March 5th to March 18th (two weeks).
March 19th to March 25th.
Only points earned in OSS Cubed tournaments count towards your leaderboard position, there is no need to opt into the promotion, and you will be able to monitor your progress on Black Chip Poker´s website. If you finish in the top ten places in any of the three leaderboard competitions, you will find your tournament entry tickets in the administration section of the Black Chip Poker software.
To celebrate the fact next weekend is Super Bowl weekend, Ignition Poker is hosting a special tournament with a $250,000 guaranteed prize pool. Fortunately, the tournament is scheduled for Saturday, rather than Sunday, so you will not miss any of the on-pitch action. Qualify Today!
Next weekend is guaranteed to be action packed. On Sunday, the US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis will host the fifty-second Super Bowl between the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles, and the previous evening Ignition Poker has scheduled a $250,000 guaranteed Super Bowl poker tournament.
If you are lucky, you can still pick up a seat for the Super Bowl – although it will likely cost you in excess of $3,000. A much better use of your money is to play in the Super Bowl tournament at Ignition Poker, where a seat will cost you $325.00 and you have the chance of finishing the evening $30,000 richer.
About Ignition Poker´s Super Bowl Tournament
The $250,000 guaranteed Super Bowl tournament starts at 5:00pm (ET) on Saturday 3rd February. The $325.00 buy-in gets players a starting stack of 15,000 chips, which will be the equivalent of 750 Big Blinds when the tournament gets underway. Like the Super Bowl itself, there will be likely be plenty of people arriving late for the event, as registration is open for 3¾ hours until the end of Level 15.
Ignition Poker´s Super Bowl tournaments has an “absolute freezeout” structure. This means no re-entries or re-buys are allowed and once you are out, you are out. For those that make it into the money, the tournament has a flatter than usual payout structure and approximately 15% of players will cash in the event – the winner taking home around $30,000 or more if the tournament beats its guarantee.
Plenty of Cheap Seat Satellites and Daily Qualifiers
To support its Super Bowl tournament, the site is hosting dozens of Cheap Seat satellites and daily qualifiers. The Cheap Seats satellites cost just $7.70 to enter and guarantee a minimum of five seats in each for the target event. The satellites take place daily at 7:00pm (ET) until the day of the Super Bowl tournament, when there will be a Cheap Seats Mega-Satellite at 1:00pm (ET) guaranteeing thirty seats.
The daily qualifiers take place at 9:30am, 6:00pm, 8:30pm and 11:00pm (all times ET) with variable buy-ins and guarantees. The most interesting of these is the 8:30pm qualifier which guarantees an increasing number of seats as the target event approaches. However there is also a 3:00pm mega-qualifier on the Saturday afternoon (buy-in $44.00) guaranteeing another thirty seats to the Super Bowl tournament.
