Appletini: Martini Family

Appletini also called an Apple Martini which is an extremely popular choice due to it’s yummy and eye-catching green color.

So if you’re in the mood for a sweet and sour type of drink then this it the perfect drink to order or make at home.

The drink was originally called Adam’s Apple Martini, which was invented back in 1996 at an L.A. restaurant called Lola’s. It was such a huge success even though it only contained two ingredients. 1 part vodka and 1 part green apple schnapps.

The recipe we decided to go with has a little bit of sweet and sour mix (home made of course).

It softens the vodka flavor and creates a more balanced flavor. However, you can stick with the original and leave it out.

Making an Appletini

Here are some tools you’re going to need

  • Measuring Jigger
  • Martini Glass
1. Chill the Martini Glass with Ice

A martini cocktail is normally chilled. Chilling the martini glass ensures the extra coldness after we shake and strain the cocktail into the glass.

2. Add Ingredients into Shaker with Ice

Add the apple martini ingredients below into a shaker with ice

  • 1 and 1/2 oz Vodka
  • 1 and 1/2 oz Green Apple Schnapps
  • 1/2 oz Sweet & Sour 

Use home made sweet and sour if possible. Here the recipe to make sweet and sour mix.

3. Shake & Strain into Chilled Martini Glass

Dump out the ice in martini glass. Shake and strain into the chilled martini glass.

4. Garnish with Maraschino Cherry or Fresh Apple Slice

If you’re ordering this at a bar then the bartender will usually garnish it with a Maraschino Cherry. If you’re at home, garnish this yummy drink with a fresh apple slice, or even better!

Garnish the drink with a cherry and a fresh apple slice!

Appletini Martini Cocktail

Invented back in 1996 at a restaurant called Lola’s. Originally called Adam’s Apple Martini which became a huge success with the crowd.

  • 1 and 1/2 oz Vodka
  • 1 and 1/2 oz Green Apple Schnapps
  • 1/2 oz Sweet & Sour
  1. Chill martini glass with ice

  2. Add all ingredients into shaker with ice

  3. Dump ice from martini glass. Shake & strain into chilled martini glass

  4. Garnish with maraschino cherry or apple slice

  5. Insert straw & enjoy!

The Fuzzy Navel

This Fuzzy Navel drink is another one of those popular summer drinks that stems back from the 1980’s, when mixing cocktails was starting to become more mainstream.

The drink itself is said be invented by Ray Foley, which was almost 30 years ago and counting. It’s quite hard to say what the actual story on how the drink and name came about, but it was basically a conversation between Ray and a customer at the bar.

The customer made a comment saying he could smell the FUZZ coming from the peach schnapps in the orange juice. The orange that he used had the word “Navel” printed on the outside for the Navel oranges.

By combining the series of events and words, the drink had finally found it’s official name as Fuzzy Navel.

The drink is pretty much a Screwdriver with peach schnapps in it. You can even garnish the drink with a peach slice to make it more fruity and appealing.

Drink Variations

Obviously from the ingredients, the drink has less alcohol and falls into the sweeter side. If you wanted a more manlier, hair on your chest type version of the Fuzzy Navel then we recommend the Hairy Navel drink. 

It’s a drink that will help you grow some man hair, since it adds Vodka into the recipe.

Making A Fuzzy Navel

The Fuzzy Navel drink is very simple.

Here are some stuff you’re going to need

  • Measuring Jigger
  • Highball Glass
1. Add all Ingredients into Highball Glass with Ice

These are the includients you’re going to need for the fuzzy navel drink

  • 2 oz Peach Schnapps
  • Orange juice

You can add up to 3 oz of peach schnapps if you’re wanting a bit more alcohol.

2. Garnish with Orange Slice

You can garnish the drink with an orange slice or wheel. If you’re making this at home and have a peach available, then garnish it with a nice peach slice.

Fuzzy Navel Drink

Great summer drink from the 80’s. Want a manlier version? Add some vodka to the recipe and make it a Hairy Navel

  • 2 oz Peach Schnapps
  • Fill Orange Juice
  1. Add ice into highball glass

  2. Add 2 oz Peach Schnapps (can add up to 3 oz)

  3. Fill with orange juice

  4. Garnish with Orange slice (alternative: Peach slice)

Copperhead Drink

The Copperhead drink recipe is very simple drink. It just contains vodka, ginger-ale and a fresh lime garnish, which makes this an excellent ginger base drink.

Here are some recommended brands of ginger-ale to use.

  • Vernor’s Ginger Ale
  • Canada Dry Ginger Ale
  • Schweppes Ginger Ale
  • Seagram’s Ginger Ale
  • Reeds Ginger Ale

With many popular beliefs, it’s said that ginger-ale could help ail in soothing upset stomachs.

So if you’re in the mood for some alcohol but have a bit of a stomach ache then this might be the perfect drink for that situation. You could even add a bit of bitters on top for enhancing the flavor and effects.

Keep in mind, this is just a popular belief and is in no way backed by any scientific evidence.

Craft Process: How to Make

Let’s get down to making a Copperhead drink.

Here are some stuff you’re gonna need

  • Measuring Jigger
  • Highball glass
1. Add Ice to Highball Glass

Get a highball glass, add some fresh cold ice all the way to the top of the glass.

2. Pour 1 and 1/2 oz of Vodka

We normally recommend just a shot but you can always bump up the recipe to 2 oz of vodka, depending on your mood.

Any brand of vodka will do it, unless you have a preferred brand.

3. Fill to Top With Ginger-ale

If you have a favorite ginger-ale soda then make sure to use it. You can even replace the ginger-ale with ginger beer.

We like the Fevertree for ginger beer.

3. Garnish With a Fresh Lime and Enjoy!

Copperhead Drink

Ginger based drink with a little twist of Vodka. Garnish it with a fresh lime and a mint spring (optional)

  • 1 and 1/2 oz Vodka (Up to 2 oz, depending on mood))
  • Fill With Ginger Ale
  1. Add ice to highball glass

  2. Add 1 and 1/2 oz of Vodka, up to 2 oz

  3. FIll glass to top with ginger ale

  4. Garnish with fresh lime and mint sprig (optional)

  5. Enjoy!

Royal Flush Drink

Ordering a Royal flush drink at a bar or making it home is much easier than trying to win a hand of poker with a Royal Flush.

It’s a fantastic drink that’s accessible to anyone wanting a flavorful tasting concoction.

The ingredients are pretty straightforward. It contains Crown Royal Whiskey for all the guys and is balanced out with Peach schnapps and cranberry for the girls.

The drink itself is really good and should be probably be ordered whenever you’re in Vegas

Royal Flush Variations

There is a bit of some variations in the recipe for the proportions of each ingredient

You’ll see that the pour on each ingredient may vary from other recipes sites.

Some recipes call for more cranberry and others that will call more on the Crown Royal.

If you’re making this drink at home then you can always experiment to your liking.

Crafting: How to

Here are some tools needed to make the Royal Flush drink.

  • Boston Shaker or Cobbler Shaker
  • Highball Glass
1. Add all Ingredients to Shaker Filled With Ice.
  • 1 and 1/2 oz Crown Royal
  • 1 oz Peach Schnapps
  • 1/2 oz Raspberry Liqueur
  • 1 oz Cranberry Juice

2. Shake and Strain into Highball

Once you have all the ingredients inside the shaker, shake and strain everything into a highball glass with fresh ice.

3. Garnish with Cherry 4. Enjoy

Royal Flush Drink

It’s easier to make a Royal Flush then to win a with a Royal Flush. Shake up as many Royal flushes as you like!

  • 1 and 1/2 oz Crown Royal
  • 1 oz Peach Schnapps
  • 1/2 oz Raspberry Liqueur (Chambord)
  • 1 oz Cranberry Juice
  1. Add all ingredients into a shaker with ice

  2. Shake & strain into a highball with fresh ice

  3. Garnish with Maraschino Cherry

  4. Enjoy!
