I’m sure you know how important probiotics are for everyone, but did you know that they’re also important for babies? I’ve been learning how critical baby gut health is from birth through the first 6 months especially for proper immune and metabolic development. I honestly wasn’t super aware of baby probiotics until recently when I began researching formula and how different types can affect gas, fussiness and trouble sleeping. (We have been supplementing my low supply – we are now on our third kind trying to find one that agrees with Bennett’s tummy!) I wanted to put this post together to share some of the interesting things I’ve learned about using a baby probiotic as well as my experience with Evivo.
If you are interested in trying Evivo for your little one, they are offering a few discounts!
Since Bennett’s birth, we’ve encountered many sleepless nights, which mostly seem related to tummy issues. From low supply to supplementing formula and constantly switching formulas to find the right one, nothing seemed to work. He would wake up in the middle of the night straining like he was in pain, and during the day he was constantly full of gas bubbles. After hearing about Evivo, I decided to introduce a baby probiotic to help with the tummy issues during the day – and to help Bennett sleep for longer stretches.
Evivo is a probiotic specifically formulated to partner with your breastmilk – and it’s the only clinically proven baby probiotic to help restore the good bacteria, B. infantis, while reducing bad bacteria. It also makes it harder for bad bacteria to take over. This good bacteria is typically transferred from mom to baby at birth, but that’s not always the case. Recent studies have proven that 9 out of 10 babies are no longer born with B. infantis. Without it, bad gut bacteria can easily flourish – and too much of it is known to puts kids at a higher risk for autoimmune and metabolic issues like colic, eczema, allergies, diabetes, and obesity.
It’s super simple to give Bennett a dose of Evivo every day. I’ll mix it in with 3 ml of breastmilk and serve it to him with the mixing bowl and syringe supplied. I’ll give it to him before a breastmilk bottle. (Even during the four days we were in the hospital, I had to start pumping because of low supply. Pumping allowed me to get a better idea of my supply amount and how much I could provide per feeding – full post on that to come.)
I know every mama wants her child to have the best start and gut health is something that can be easily overlooked as a reason for fussiness and gas. Good bacteria and a happy tummy go hand-in-hand, which is why a probiotic made sense for us. I made the choice of adding Evivo to Bennett’s daily regimen to help support his issues like reflux and gas, but I’m hopeful it’s also going to boost his immune system and metabolism in the long run.
Have you tried probiotics for babies? I’d love to hear your experience.

It’s hard to pick up a fashion magazine or look at your favorite blogs without seeing this summer’s big NEON color obsession. There’s no denying that neon is back, but if you’re like me, you’re probably apprehensive about how to wear it. I tend to lean into rosy hues that compliment my complexion, so while I’m likely not going to rock a full neon ensemble, there are ways to tie in those electric tones. One easy way to wear a neon lip color this summer is with a quick lipstick swap! On my recent visit to Mary Kay headquarters, we got a sneak peek of their new Limited-Edition* Mary Kay® Matte Lipstick in Paparazzi Pink. Embracing a statement lip can be daunting, so I’m sharing how to incorporate it into a normal makeup routine with confidence in today’s full post!

Pick a Color You Already Like + Go BRIGHTER
For me, Paparazzi Pink was a no-brainer because I normally wear blush and pink colors on my lips. I also knew that because I wear a lot of pastel and blush tones in my outfits that this bright pink would also be complimentary to the wardrobe I already own.
Pick a Formula: Matte or Glossy, Lipstick or Lip Gloss
If you’re used to a certain lip formula, you’ll probably want to stick to it. If you tend to go with natural matte lip colors, you’ll probably feel overwhelmed with a neon glossy lip color. I love the Mary Kay Matte Lipsticks because they leave your lips highly pigmented while still moisturized. They are velvety smooth and packed full of color for all day wear.
Another reason I can’t wait to rock a neon statement lip all summer – Paparazzi Pink also gives back to the Mary Kay global Pink Changing Lives Program! Mary Kay Inc. will donate $1 from every sale of Limited-Edition* Mary Kay® Matte Lipstick in Paparazzi Pink to the Mary Kay Foundation from now until August 15, 2019. In the US, The Mary Kay Foundation concentrates its efforts to find cures for cancers affecting women and to help prevent domestic violence which is something we can all smile brightly about!
Thank you to Mary Kay for partnering on today’s post. As always, all thoughts and styling are my own.
For nine months, you get used to seeing your little bump grow right before your eyes… until suddenly the baby is out and that bump STILL remains. There was nothing that prepared me for how I’d feel looking at myself in the mirror the first two weeks postpartum. (And even still today two months out.) Hopeless, helpless and inside a stranger’s body looking back at me. You might remember from my 4th trimester blog post, that I wore a belly band to help jumpstart things. But even that isn’t enough to fully get back into normal jeans again. After my six week checkup and the okay to exercise again, I’ve been trying to remind myself of three post-baby health tips that I’m outlining in today’s post.

Be Realistic + Forgiving
“Bouncing right back” isn’t a realistic expectation no matter how much or how little baby weight you put on. And although I appreciate and am grateful for every single message saying “you look so great,” the reality is that the baby weight is not melting away magically. I still have months of my postpartum fitness and wellness journey left until I’ll feel like I’m in my own body again – and that’s okay.
I made it a point while pregnant to NOT get caught up in a numbers game. During the second trimester, I asked the nurses to stop telling me my weight at my doctor’s appointments. I didn’t want the number that is supposed to represent a healthy pregnancy turn into a toxic focal point for me. I waited WEEKS post-baby to even step on a scale and look at it. In fact, I didn’t step on the scale until after I was given permission to exercise by my doctor.
Create a Plan and Schedule That Works for You
The easiest step you can take for your health after getting home postpartum is creating a meal plan for yourself. Getting to a grocery store with a newborn feels like an impossible feat, so I’ve utilized apps like InstaCart and local grocery stores that offer home delivery to ensure we always have fresh produce. I also use Home Chef meal delivery because it offers weekly smoothies and offers nutritional info before your select meals.
Finding your own personal time within a baby’s needy schedule is the hardest part of focusing on health. Every day I think “I don’t have time to do this today” when it comes to fitting in exercise. I’ve been working with Jordan to find little windows of opportunity to sneak in a quick run or a few exercises in our house. Right now, those times are when Jordan does Bennett’s 7 am feeding or at night when he does the 7 pm night feeding. And most of the time, I am so TIRED that I don’t even want to think about exercising. Finding time to actually work in a fitness routine has been the most difficult part, but once you start to work them in, they will feel more like a priority.
Most of my activewear from pre-pregnancy days doesn’t fit right now. I’ve also been treating myself to new cute activewear outfits to get myself excited about working out again. I’ve mentioned before in my Pregnancy Health Tips post that I LOVE the Jockey basic leggings. In fact, I’ve worn a ton of Jockey pieces during and after my pregnancy because they are so comfortable and not to mention budget-friendly. (With all the items we have to buy for Bennett, spending a ton on activewear pieces isn’t in the budget!) This Jockey sports bra is only $36 and these performance leggings are $48. I snatched up this set while they were running a promotion. Right now, they are offering:
Most of all, don’t be hard on yourself if the weight isn’t dropping as fast as you expected. Your body just endured a CRAZY change that was 9 months in the making. Give yourself grace and remember to build yourself up every day. I have been very lucky to have a supportive spouse who encourages me to do the things that make me feel like myself again. When if you catch yourself feeling down on yourself, take a look at that little tiny miracle your body made!
Thanks to Jockey, a brand I love, for partnering on today’s post. As always all thoughts and styling are my own.

Summer is practically here, and let me tell you guys that I could not be more thrilled to get out in the sunshine! Now that Bennett is getting bigger, we have started taking him out and about more often. This mama is ready for her new outfits! You know that dresses are one of my favorite summer pieces, and when it comes to finding the perfect dress, nothing is quite as chic with a tan than the color white! Lately, I’ve been loving all things Ted Baker, and they have a ton of new white styles popping up. Here’s a look at my top picks from Ted Baker’s white dresses – because you need at least one LWD to complete your perfect summer wardrobe!
After a productive week trying to balance work and family time, there’s a special place I have in my heart for those weekend moments where I can relax – and maybe have a mimosa or two! And isn’t that what brunch was created for? I 100% think so. Ted Baker is on closet speed dial this summer because not only do I feel comfortable in the pieces, but I love how the silhouettes feel so polished and refined for any occasion. I think this A-line dress with ruffle details paired with blush sandals and a floral hair scarf is a brunch outfit no-brainer. Not only is this dress truly versatile and functional on a busy week day, but the lighter fabric works wonderfully with the weather on the weekend too. I also LOVE this similar fit and flare style.
Summer Dinner Dresses
Transitioning into a night look can sometimes be difficult to do, and that’s where Ted Baker always has us covered. When it comes to evenings and outings at night, white dresses are always a good choice because they are the perfect blend of modest and chic. My favorite dinner dress tends to be a midi. I love that this white midi dress has length and sleeves to keep me feeling covered and comfortable. This white lace midi dress comes up high enough for me to sneak in a lovely pair of heels – just perfect for Father’s Day coming up if you’re planning something special! You can set the outfit off with a pop of color from a fun handbag.
Date Night Dresses
A fun night out deserves a fun dress, and sometimes that means stepping out of your comfort zone. Ted Baker body-hugging dresses really take on the world in a new and exciting meaning. Instead of being unflattering and revealing, they are appropriate and sophisticated. The bandage material of this pleated mini dress is super high-quality! The white color provides a nice backdrop that isn’t too demanding and also teams beautifully with a colors or neutrals.
Every season we get hit with tons and tons of ways to style the ever-present LBD for short. But, this year, I’m all about looking dreamy in little white dresses.

What are you guys picking up for your mom this week?
Filling up your closet with the latest trends each season can be fun but expensive, which is why I’m such a fan of mixing up my closet with more affordable pieces. I definitely think the classics, like a leather jacket, are worth investing in, but when it comes to trends, I’ll usually opt to save. It’s been hard to shop in stores with Bennett, so I’ve been taking advantage of places with quick shipping. This season, I’ve been super impressed with the spring outfit pieces at Walmart. I’ve already been taking advantage of Walmart’s free 2-day shipping (available on most orders over $35) for household items, so why not add some clothing picks in my cart too? Plus, the luxury of free returns makes the entire online shopping experience so easy!
Below I’ve rounded up the best spring trends you can shop today at Walmart on any budget.

More Spring Outfit Picks:
Jumpsuits are a perfect spring to summer piece given their versatility. I love the wrap style silhouette on this jumpsuit – and the polka dot print makes it so ideal for summer. It’s one of those pieces that can easily be dressed up or down with anything from slide sandals to heels. I’ll be packing this jumpsuit under $20 on my summer vacations.
Pastel dresses are always a favorite for spring. They’re equivalent to plaid in the fall! Though pastels may seem like a cliche color palette for spring, updated details like square necklines, ruffles, and modern cuts make it feel effortless and fresh this year. This mint dress under $20 I’m wearing today is the perfect example – the rumpled waistline and square neckline are .Paired with the right shoes, you can easily take a pastel dress from day to night.
Stripes and Polka Dots
I’m a huge sucker for stripes no matter what season it is, but I love the lighter, nautical options that pop up in the spring. BUT a huge trend I’ve been seeing right now is actually polka dots! Whether it’s a statement top or pair of shorts, stripes are a great way to keep those summer outfits strong.
One of my favorite things about going from winter to spring and summer is switching out knits for cool, breezy fabrics. Chambray, eyelet, and linen are my weaknesses. I just love how feminine and effortless they look. Plus, they’re a great way to get on spring’s white and beige trend.
While Walmart is a great destination for affordable spring fashion trends, you can also shop more premium offerings through their Lord + Taylor shop for the ultimate high and low outfit mix. This makes shopping in one place just too easy to pass up.
