Indigo, Crystal, and Rainbow ChildrenVersusGeneration X, Generation Y, and MillennialsWhat do these groups have in common?

This article comes from a member question -

The spiritual labels for the most recent different generations are defined as Indigo, Crystal, and Rainbow Children.

These labels are near directly comparable to the sociological labels used for the different generations of recent years, namely, Generation X, Generation Y, and Millennial.

Here are the similarities between the sociological terms and the spiritual terms defining the different generational groups:

  • Regardless of name, each generational group begins and ends with very loose boundaries
  • Each group is assigned or defined by certain roles in making changes in society
  • Each group series was created as an identification tool by humans to define and classify different generations

Either when we're discussing those amongst those in the sociological research community or in the spiritual community, here's how the terms directly compare to each other:

Generation Xers are...

According to George Masnick of the Harvard Joint Center for Housing Studies, the Generation X timeframe is somewhere between 1965 to 1984. This is also around the same timeframe Doreen Virtue classifies the Indigo Children Generation

Generation Ys are...

Directly following that is Generation Y, putting it anywhere from the mid-1970s when the oldest was born to the mid-2000s when the youngest were. This is the same general time period for those classified in the Crystal Children Generation

Millennials are...

In October 2004, researchers Neil Howe and William Strauss defined this group as those born in 1982 to 20 years thereafter. In 2012, they affixed the endpoint as 2004. This is the same group as the Rainbow Children Generation as defined by those in the spiritual community.

The dates and names for each generation are fluid and you'll see varying boundaries for each, however, these are the overall dates agreed upon by most, and as posted by researchers for The Atlantic

So to recap...Taking a look at the scientific term vs spiritual term for each generational group and how they compare:

- If you know you're part of Generation X group, this would make you part of the Indigo Children Generation. This group starts after the baby boomers sometime in the 1960's includes those born in the mid-1980's.

- If you think you were born in Generation Y, you'd technically be part of the Crystal Children Generation, which is essentially the metaphysical term discussing the same thing. If you believe in this group, some researchers don't, this group starts sometime in the 1970's-80's and ends with those born sometime in the mid 90's or early 2000's depending which paper you read.

- And if you think you were born during the Millennials time period, then you're in the Rainbow Children Generation, metaphysically speaking. This group begins sometime in the late 80's or early 90's and includes those birthed directly before and after the start of the newest millennia, basically, the babies that carried us over the hump of the newest (1900's - 200o's) century.

Whichever generation you decide you're in, try not to get too wrapped up in these terms.  The defined boundaries of each generation are never finalized until all, if not most, of the children born into that generation move into retirement. For example, the only group whose boundaries sociologists can agree upon are the Baby Boomers, which aren't listed here though, and their boundaries are 1946 -1964.

Improve How Much You’re Receiving In Your Relationships

Have you ever wondered how you could get more attention in your relationships? From your partners? Want to improve how much love you receive and can feel from your lover on a daily basis? Learning to become more open to love, in any way it comes to you?

In this last week's Soulmates Class, we discussed this very topic and we also discussed how it’s important that healers feel love, though they often don't feel it.

In relationships, it is true that the giving we do as healers, and as people, is not always equal to the amount of receiving we take in.

And, while not all relationships are created equal, and not all love languages built the same, most relationships rely on a delicate balance between giving and receiving.

The scale tips one way or the other for too long in either direction; the balance is no longer in sync, the relationship becomes out of harmony, and disconnect ensues.

from instagram

Improving how much you can receive in your relationship is just one way you can restore the balance.

Just as important as giving, is your ability to receive love when given and offered to you.

When you improve how much you can receive, everything feels more abundant; your life, your level of gratitude for your partner, your day, and in many cases, this abundance spreads out into new opportunities coming in from all over - in your life, your career, and in your friendships.

Receiving has benefits on many levels, and yet so few of us take time to do it, to allow it to happen.

And when you’re not receiving love, it can affect how appreciated you feel, how valued you feel you are in the relationship, and the level of connectedness and synchronization you can experience with your partner.

Thankfully, there are six ways to improve how much receiving you’re doing that will directly impact how much love you’re feeling in your relationship, and in your life.

6 Ways to Receive More In ALL Of Your Relationships

1. Lean in and listen. Turning your body to your partner, drop your guard and fully listen to understand not to change. The first, not the easiest, true listening is the most necessary act of receiving. When you do this, an action of receiving occurs instantly, as you are now accepting your partner’s thoughts and ideas into your energy field.

2. Mention the things you like to receive… out loud. This is a great tip for manifestation, too. During your next casual trip out, try pointing out something you like and drop the phrase, “If you ever want to get a special treat for me, I really like this.” Say it playfully and in passing, and it’s the million dollar gesture. Highly helpful, this gives your partner an opportunity learn the types of things you like to receive, improving their ability to give to you in the way you prefer.

3. Grounding massage. On yourself or take out your stress on your partner’s weary joints through acupressure massage. Massage releases your excess energy and when performed with another, theirs, too. Loving physical touch also thaws emotional wounds, too, so this one is especially helpful after an argument or for preventing one, even internally.

4. Practice visualizing yourself receiving. Restore the balance of giving and receiving inside yourself, making this balance more likely to be reflected back to you in your communions with others. Focus on the sacral chakra, the first chakra related to relationships and the balance and harmony between the two. Imagine orange-yellow glowing light cycling back and forth through this area of your body, and then, if your partner is willing, visualize the same energy passing through his or her sacral region, uniting the two of you together, weaving the energy between you and they until you sense harmony. A great tool to add to any breath work you’re already doing.

5. Become a ‘let’s do it your way’ person for a while. Try moving into a ‘show me how’ mindset with your partner for a few weeks, and focus on observing and learning from them, rather than teaching them. Most of the time, we get so busy teaching our lovers how to be better, we forget exactly what we came into the coupleship to do: to learn and to love. Moving back into this state of wonder and learning from your partner, will put you back into a state of receiving and even better, into a state of awe with them.

6. Pull your energy back. Too many times when we want to receive more in our relationships, we end up giving more. We press more; we push more, we ask for more when the very thing we need to be doing is stepping back. Withdrawing back to yourself, as the individual, for the time being, is a great way to start receiving. It allows the pendulum to swing back in your direction, providing some time for the natural order of giving and receiving in the relationship to restore to its new state all on its own. Interested in a meditation that’ll help you do this?

Please see the Call Back Your Energy Meditation in The Member’s Meditation Lounge or if you're not in the center, check out the Energy Healing Meditations, these are a set of two meditations designed to help heal you, and your relationships, - emotionally and karmically - one track is for Self-Healing first, the second is for Relationship Healing.

In relationships, the balance of giving and receiving is not always equal, and a lot of us believe we’re already giving more than we’re receiving.

When this happens, what’s typically going on is one party is merely giving in a code the other can’t, doesn’t want, or hasn’t yet begun to understand.

These actions merely help one move back into a state of listening, observing and learning from your relationship, naturally moving you back into a state of receiving, and that is, ultimately a state of understanding, and love, in any relationship.

Learning how your partner gives to you in all the facets that they do, is just another way to open up to receive more from them, and once you understand their loving style more, it's easier to see it and catch it more often when it comes your way.

Hey guys,

I thought I would just take a moment to share one of the more interesting finds I've spotted on this year's annual literature run.

Every year I head over to Barnes and Noble to review recently published texts in our field and in our correlating areas, and more frequently than that, I review articles and publications.

But on this most recent trip, I found a very interesting book that's related to some of the things we've focused on in The Membership Program this past year.

If you're a member of the learning and community portal of this website, you'll know for the past year or so, every month in the membership newsletter, we've covered important activists and spiritual figures in history that have made splashes in the industry as far positive contributions to coverage and change for our community, and for those in our field through their writings, speeches, political actions, screenplays, activism and so on.

We cover both men and women, both this century and others, and in this new book, written and compiled by Taisia Kitaiskaia and illustrated by Katy Horan, the two team up and cover specifically female writers whose words have created a new reality for themselves and others.

Literary Witches: A Celebration of Magical Women Writers

Literary Witches released in October 2017 runs through a page-by-page portrayal and illustration of 30 female writers past and present who used specifically words to create a new reality.

As you know, witches of a whole have many mediums they can choose from, and they are often separated and sorted by their preferred outlet or expertise.

Here we have a book which features women who choose words and whose writings lend towards the magical.

Something revolutionary to be published, both by today's standards and by standards 200 years ago and I'm arguing... more.

So without further ado, here a few pictures of this work of art we call a book:

This book currently sits on the shelf next to my copy of Mason Currey's 2013 book and compendium Daily Rituals: How Artists Work (Amazon: http://amzn.to/2FcqgjH) which I picked up a few years ago while visiting a bookstore called The Mirabai of Woodstock in Woodstock, NY.

If you are ever up there, they have a wonderful selection of items.

But back to it -

To me, Literary Witches is very similar to Mason's compendium, except it is more specialized.

Featuring also illustrations, popular works of each author for easy reference, it focuses only on only female artists whose medium is writing.

And best of all, it's been published by Seal Press, which was founded in 1976 to provide a forum for women writers and feminist issues.

So if you consider yourself or someone you know as a creative - whether it be an intuitive creative or someone who creates and whatever your beliefs on where it comes from, and/or a feminist, I recommend both.

Both are available in hard copy, and for the latter, she (the book) has been so far been featured on Haute Macabre, Brown Paper Bag, Bustle, and Washington Post

A great gift for any wordsmith, poet, or writer - spiritual or sci-fi focused -

I've picked up a copy of Literary Witches myself, and have been going through the pages day by day.

Great work Taisia, and Katy, and thank you for this beautiful compendium.

Literary Witches is available at Barnes and Noble for list price (or Amazon: http://amzn.to/2DEFiS7 for $13.48).

And for a limited time only, Electric Literature is also running a special edition limited run set of Literary Witch Postcards by Katy Horan. The postcards each feature a poem and portraits & vignettes of Shirley Jackson, Virginia Woolf, Mirabai, Jamaica Kincaid, Anne Carson, Anna Akhmatova, and Charlotte Brontë. See them all here

If you're in the membership program this month and wondering, our activist of mention is a woman:

Emma Hardinge Britten
(1823 - 1899)

Writer, Medium, Inspirational Speaker

Known as one of the most well-respected spiritualists in history, Emma got her start after sitting for the Society for the Diffusion of Spiritual Knowledge of New York. English born, she primarily used her gifts for giving inspirational speeches via extempore, meaning without preparation.

Among one of the founders of the Theosophical Society, Emma traveled all over the world, writing and speaking on the truth of Spirit and related concepts. She was a contemporary of Madame Blavatsky and other movers and shakers of that time.

While not in the book, there are many others that we haven't covered yet!

Oracle Card Decks for Moon Lovers

In November 1824, Sidney Hall, a British Cartographer released Urania's Mirror; or, A View of the Heavens.

This was a set of 32 astronomical star cards. The cover of the box-set showed a depiction of Urania, the muse of astronomy, and it came with a book entitled A Familiar Treatise on Astronomy... written as an accompaniment, which would now be called a guidebook.

These were some of the first star cards available and now there are many more to choose from.

So, Tarot or Oracle, what do you choose?

Tarot is devised on a set system of reading cards and interpretation, and all decks of Tarot are bound by this general system, making these decks great tools for those who already know and have learned the system or would like to.

Oracle Cards, however, are much more open flexible in their system style.

Each Oracle Card Deck has their own style of reading option available, your choice or you can choose the styles offered to you by the author of the deck, making them great for learning new styles and methods of interpretation.

I consider each a little class on that person's divination method, providing me with a richer and deeper understanding of my own.

But besides which you choose, according to world divination theory, there are two methods of divination, intangible and tangible, known as ecstatic or inductive.

One is thought of as being used primarily for the viewer, and the other thought of as being used primarily for the self, both, however, can be used together and this is where cards come in, as many readers draw upon both, to provide their final product.

So whichever you prefer, here are a few of the new moon ones that have been released a bit more recently, and I'm currently digging on:

The Constellation Tarot

Great for logical folks. Available for $35.00 @ lightgreyartlab.com.

Anytime is a great time for stargazing, both with your head up, and down, onto your reading table.

People have been divining using the solar system for thousands of years, and if you're just learning this system, as much as it can be intuitive, there is a logic and order to it that even the most esoteric of us can't help but appreciate.

Have a reading deck you're really enjoying lately that's not mentioned here?

The January Membership Theme is... Clairsentience

Clairsentience, clairaudience, and clairvoyance are all highly connected.

Listening abilities are highly tied to feeling abilities, and new scientific studies show humans can feel-sounds, interpret heart rhythms with their brain, and identify real chemical triggers with the stomach.

The body receives and interprets noise and light, and the waves they are carried on, in tandem with the ear, the eyes, the brain, and the beyond.

Our bodies are attuned to picking up a multitude of feelings and sensations, often carried as colorless odorless signals through the atmosphere, which helps us interpret emotions, the physical distance of others in the room, and even the pressures of the atmosphere.

When these inputs are organized and nurtured, we can use the information we take in to either convert them or divert them into something useful for us or for others.

When out of control, an active sensory system can overrun our body and mind leading to such possibilities as adrenal overload, anxiety attacks, and decision paralysis. With compassion fatigue and spiritual burnout possible, and a lot of work to accomplish this new year, this month in the program we focus attention where it is needed most, and nurture the clair closest to our hearts, often considered the first - clairsentience.

So this month, in The Membership Program:

ClairsentienceClear feeling

Manage the inputs you receive, identify and calm how those inputs affect you, and then, you can choose how much influence they have on your actions and behaviors. Live a more peaceful life managing your clairs -

Join The Membership To Begin.

This will be a great month for empaths, feelers, generalized anxiety, relieve the feeling of being overloaded. Organize and streamline all the information coming into the brain of the intuitive system, the heart, this year to get more done, with fewer heart-based distractions.

This is a learning and continuing education program including archives, q&a calls, and group support.

Hearing footsteps downstairs: is it a ghost? what to do

Nothing is more concerning than finding yourself resting comfortably in the bath upstairs, home all alone, when all of a sudden, you hear the front door open, a male's boot steps walk in through the front door, and you listen.

The shoes step halfway into the entry room and they stop, so does your heart.

Is it an intruder? Do you call the police? What do you do?

Of all the paranormal mystery noises out there, from former train engines calling their sirens, to two-hundred-year old horse feet on a carriage trotting down the street, the whole hearing footsteps thing has to rank up there as one of the tops.

And in my ebook, Transitions, I discuss how paranormal noises near entryways of the home, such as those heard by front doors and back doors, tend to be protector types or ancestral spirits who watch over the land.

However, these noises can also come from nosy spirits just poking around, seeing what's up, tripping over things, and knocking over your stuff while they're at it.

What else is there to do when doing your rounds...

Before inspecting, be certain the footsteps are not a real intruder.

There is scientific evidence showing the brain can register the heartbeat of another human being, so if your brain is telling you not to go downstairs, don't go. Best to call the police even if it's a ghost. I've done it and while we've all had a laugh, there have also been times that pesky noise turned out to be something else. But back to it, assuming it probably is just a ghost:

  • Watch your dog.

Most dogs are unphased by paranormal noises but behave differently when the noises originate from human/animal sources. Notice what your dog does whenever something like this happens and compare their actions to how they behave when it's raccoons. This will help you discern what or who is creating that noise.

  •  Wait 5 minutes to see if noises continue.

If the footsteps stop mid-stair or vanish mid-track, and you've heard nothing, and your adrenaline subsides, you're usually okay but phone a friend if you can and double check.

  • Now that it's safe, let the ghost know you hear them.

Most ghosts and spirits don't expect people hear them, so they just do what they want until they know they're caught then they leave.

  • Inspect the scene.

Normally, once you do all these things and then go to inspect the scene, you ultimately find nothing amiss - no front door open, no boot marks, no nothing.

Now, if you DO sense or see something when you inspect the scene, like:

  • a strong presence
  • a pulsing force field
  • a big dark misty mass

The spirit who was there, probably still is.

If it's a dark shadow, don't worry - this doesn't always mean anything.

A spirit can be powerful and positive.

Anointing oils, regular saging and crystal gridding the property can all prevent incidents like this from happening in the future, but it won't usually get rid of the spirit in the moment. Instead, try confronting them telepathically or talking to them and escorting them out, even opening the door and leaving a candle outside for a short time signifying to them that's where they should be going... outside.

Some spirits will give you details about themselves, by replying internally or externally, with telepathy (also known as clairaudience when used to contact those without a body) others are not so easy, but it's worth a try. These details are helpful because you can use them to find out why they're visiting and how to get them to go back where they came from if that's indeed what you ultimately decide you want. Here are a few steps to identifying spirits who keep returning on your property.

Just capturing one name is helpful and some do speak out loud so it's not impossible. These are voices that can be registered either with either human hearing if it's loud enough and in the correct frequency, but if not, many voices can be captured with even more sensitive audio equipment.

If you are reading this article for a child and would like to minimize these types of experiences as they can be startling, try temporarily decreasing your family's exposure to spirit based television shows and media, and go on a spirit break, then energy clear the home. Giving attention to them can sometimes attract them, and while it makes for an exciting life, it can also make it more difficult to get the little ones to sleep.

This month in The Membership Program we are currently wrapping up a lesson on Clairaudience, which is all about opening up your ability to hear more, so things like this may occur.

If you'd like to hear less though, at least temporarily (not suggested for the long term, as heightened senses do tend to increase the overall survival of you and your peers) try one of the Chakra Closing Meditations available in The Member Center.

These things can happen at random, and they definitely shake things up, so to end, just have fun with it!

Hearing footsteps is a sign of clairaudience, and hearing the other side definitely provides some added excitement to any night. Many with this gift also hear voices, communicate with animals, and develop songs, write music or even create books with their abilities.

Being sensitive is a positive thing for society, as those who have delicate sensory instruments set the standard for the beauty industry, the environmental industry, the manufacturing industry, and for how cultures interact. Those with sensitive skin also tend to take better care of their skin and bodies, which then sets the standard for new anti-aging discoveries and positive body messages.

More than 20% of the population is considered sensitive or in some terminologies, empathetic.

And sensitive people often have sensitive skin, and entire sensitive sensory systems in addition to having certain intuitive abilities.

When you take care of your skin and body each season, it frees up more time for you focus on your life's work, feel better about the skin you're in, and overall, it allows you to live a more peaceful life (okay, some if it is because you'll just be less itchy).

Because there are challenges and delights for doing this each season, here are:

6 tips for nurturing skin care this winter seasonincorporate a rehab night cream into your routine

A night cream is simply a heavier than normal hydrator that helps protect and nourish the skin while locking in water to your skin while you sleep. In nature, plants do much of their reparative work at night and likewise, so do our own cells.

Night creams can be oil-free, and also water based.

Being that water makes up over eighty-percent of the body, it's important your skin has this to do its best repair work, which during winter, is when it's most needed.

Because dry skin can be painful and also a distraction from fulfilling your life's purpose, try slathering on something like the Pacifica Beauty's Coconut Probiotic Water Rehab Cream ($11.29 from Amazon) for more moisturized, nourished, and cared for skin by morning that you don't have to worry about and provides your skin with plenty of non-irritating moisture.

introduce a hydrating serum with natural cushioning ingredients

Sensitive skincare is all about protection, nourishment, and improving the skin's overall resiliency. Serums can include concentrated ingredients which improve your skin's ability to bounce back and adapt in response to stress.

Serums formulated from ingredients that naturally create this resiliency cushion in ecosystems, can also help your skin during stressful winter condition such as which experiencing winds, snow, or cold.

Try adding a serum with mushroom, algae, kelp, or propolis extract to your routine this winter. If you need an oil-free version, check out Acure Organics CGF Repair Serum ($15.04 on Amazon), which uses algae as it's main ingredient and is completely oil-free.

silicones and sealants ...save them for the last step!

Silicones are sealants and they're also popular ingredients in winter moisturizers, masks and primers because they help protect and smooth skin.

Silicones (also known as: Methicone, Phenyl trimethicone, Dimethicone, Cyclomethicone, Dimethiconol, Dimethicone copolyol) are also used to seal water pipes and windows from outdoor moisture and air coming in, and when added to your beauty products, they can make your skin feel super smooth, and protected.

However, when placed directly against your skin, silicones can also trap bacteria and oil, not letting skin breathe, ultimately creating blockages in the pores.

So try hydrating this winter without blocking the flow -

Brands such as:

All strive to be silicone-free, cruelty-free and environmentally friendly while still protecting and nourishing your skin, without causing blockages and giving the skin more of a cushion to breathe and interact with the ecosystem. This coconut water infused primer by Too Faced ($25.00 from Amazon) is perfectly hydrating for winter.

100% Pure and Milk Makeup also do silicone-free foundations which are great options for those extra sensitive to this ingredient.

Take care of the hands

When you take good care of your hands, it echoes out into the universe a message that you can also take good care of others.

Further, dry hands and cuticles means breaking skin, which will invite illness, and you deserve to always feel your best.

So to take care of those hands this winter -

If you get hangnails or dry, ripped cuticles in the winter, try using Trim Nail Care Sticks ($1.49 from Amazon) to push back cuticles, along with any daily nail oil of your choice to keep your hand and nail area comfortable, protected and sealed up this winter. This is a much more gentle, also cheaper, alternative to using a metal nail pusher and a cuticle cutter to do the same job, also it's more nurturing.

To keep the barrier function of your skin on your hands high, Welda's Skin Food ($12.34 from Amazon) is my best friend, but I also love emu oil, almond oil and shea butter for the hands and especially the cuticle area. Doing this will also moisturize nails, promoting healthy nail growth, too.

Relax your way into cellular regeneration

The winter is a great time to lay back and take care of yourself.

So why not stimulate cellular regeneration, boost your skin's natural healing process and restore your natural radiance while you do it?

Red light therapy and facial massage are both fantastic ways to spend the extended periods of night winter can bring and they can be incredibly relaxing, release negative energy, and stimulate the cell recovery process, all important actions for those with sensitive radar systems.

For massage: Bring circulation back to the face, stimulate the healing process, and release stored emotion. I use both a Gua Sha tool (this is the one I have from Amazon) and a Jade Roller. I even talk about both in my Membership Program as ways we can release stored negativity from our muscle tissue)but I also suggest trying out a NuFace into your routine if it fits into your budget, which incorporates microcurrent to help stimulate cellular tissue.

As far as red light therapy is concerned: It works, and it's also incredibly relaxing to the nervous system, especially if you choose an option that includes heat such as Organic Olivia's DIY Red Light Therapy set-up or the Silk'n FaceFX. I've tried both the DIY method proposed by Olivia and The RejuvaliteMD by Trophy Skin and honestly, I like them both, for different reasons.

Just an FYI though: Organic Olivia's method uses an incandescent bulb, which produces heat (extra cozy!) thought to accelerate the renewal process, but an incandescent can also drive up electric bills, so if you'd like to do the DIY method for red light therapy, but still want to keep your costs down, try replacing it with a deep red LED equivalent bulb instead - such as this one by RubyLux ($49.99 from Amazon).

Lip care

Moisture is lost from the body through the lips as you breathe, therefore, this is one of the areas of the body most prone to the effects of dehydration. During the winter when the air in the homes and buildings is often naturally drier, meaning this winter is when our lips will tend to need and want the most of our care.

To keep lips feeling cared for during winter: Exfoliate them daily with a q-tip dabbed with a bit of moisturizing balm.

This keep them supple and free of excess cells, revealing their softer appearance underneath.

Lush's Ultrabalm Body Balm ($28.70 from Amazon) and Egyptian Magic All Purpose Skin Cream ($30.40 from Amazon) are both excellent balms for this and they both last forever.

If you'd like to give them the extra treatment, or you're travelling and need an on-the-go option, I really like the moisturizing and exfoliating duo that is the Yes to Coconut: 2-Step Pucker Up Kit

Softer lips will help you stay more comfortable this winter, make it more relaxing to speak, and most importantly, it will protect them from the cold winter winds.

As always, winter season, especially in the more northern climates, can be dehydrating, so for especially beautiful skin and nails, stay hydrated - drink more water than you would in the summer. Caring for your skin as an empath, or a sensitive, however, you want to call it, is a very nourishing and symbolic activity that falls into that self love category we all could be doing a little more of. All in all, listen to your skin this season and every season and when it speaks to you, respond, it will tell you what it needs.

Oracle Card Decks for Herbalists

Looking for an oracle card deck for an herbalist? Look no further -

My first reading deck was given to me as a gift after graduating college, and it was an herbal deck. Since then, I've amassed quite a collection of decks and have had the chance to try out many of them, though, herbal decks still remain one of my favorite styles of decks.

Here is a list of a few of my favorite reading decks for herbalists, botanists, and plant science lovers -

The Herbal Tarot (1988)

One of the original herbal reading decks available, The Herbal Tarot was co-created by Michael Tierra and Candice Cantin, and it can be used as either a traditional Tarot deck or as an oracle deck. Comes with 78-cards and it is often used in companionship with the guidebook, The Spirit of Herbs. This was one of my first herbal decks!

This deck can be found on Amazon.com for as low as $18.20, The East West School of Planetary Herbology or through the publisher, US Game Systems

Pythia Botanica Oracle (2016)

Leila + Olive

This 48-card deck is a limited edition artist run by Nicole Rallis of Leila + Olive. Complete with a guidebook and rooted in the mythology of Pythia, an ancient priestess also known as the Oracle of Delphi, it features golden gilded edges and tea stained cards for an antique feel. This deck can be read with traditional Tarot style spreads, but the deck also comes with instructions on how to read the cards.

Find this deck at the artist's website for $45.00+, along with other botanical-style talismans.

Power of Flowers Card Deck (2014)

This 32-card deck by Isha Lerner includes shamanic messages and poems from each flower, images of divinity from many traditions, and a guidebook. The deck also includes information on using the essence of the flower for further vibrational healing.

Great deck for shamanic healers, flower essence specialists, and herbalists who specialize in floral preparations, this deck can be found on Power Flower Essences for $35.00

The Herbal Healing Deck (2016)

The Herbal Healing Deck is an oracle deck with 48-cards that have been divided into four suits: Roots, Herbs, Flowers, and Trees. The first deck release for both artists, it comes excellent imagery, a guidebook, and case. Co-developed by herbalist Sarah Baldwin and shamanic artist Ashley Verkamp, learn more about the authors here.

This deck can be found on Amazon starting at $26.05, it's great for both novice and seasoned readers.

Druid Plant Oracle (2008)

The Druid Plant Oracle comes with 36-reading cards and a guidebook which provides 6 different ways of doing readings with the cards, though you can technically use any method with this deck. A favorite deck of herbalists who are familiar with or interested in learning Celtic, druid and old world traditions. My mom just got this one, and it's the sister deck of the Druid Animal Oracle, which was first published in 1995.

Book Depository currently offers free shipping and the cheapest pricing on this deck - see it here.  However, this deck is also available on Amazon, with first editions starting at $35.40, second editions starting at $18.25.

Okay, so these are just a few of my favorites.

I always recommend that everyone have at least a few different decks of different types in their collection to mix and match messages for a better effect and a clearer reading. Each deck tends to be better at looking into certain things and providing certain types of data and outlooks. They're like scientific instruments and with some new decks, it can be like learning a new language -  but that's all part of the fun.

For decks that animal lovers would like, please check out the article, Oracle Card Decks for Animal Lovers.

Enjoy your plant-based reading cards!

PS - When giving a reading to another person with these cards, pay attention to any lead words that you hear while giving the reading, as these can be clairaudient messages coming through to assist with supplementing the message. We are focusing on Clairaudience this month in The Membership Program if you'd like to learn more, please join us. If you're already in the program, try the Mental Decluttering Meditation (in the archives here) before sitting down to shuffle your deck for a more in-tune read.
