Aircraft Details

The Gulfstream G450 is a designation for the model GIV-X, which gained its FAA certifications late in the summer of 2004.

Gulfstream based the G450 on their renowned GIV/GIV-SP/G400, utilizing several upgrades from their new GV-SP model: a Honeywell-powered flight deck, electric generator, temperature and pressurization controls in the cabin. Additional improvements include an upgraded APU, and redesigned landing gear, wheels, and brakes.

Compared to the GIV, its fuselage is an extra foot in length, and has a relocated main door. The old RR Tay 611-8 engines are replaced by 611-8Cs with FADEC that increase range and payload, in addition to its aerodynamic improvements.

By the end of the G450’s production run in 2018, there are 365 deliveries, with a cost ranging between $15 million to $32 million.

Cabin

The cabin of Gulfstream luxury jets are renowned for sophistication and comfort. With a standing room height of 6’2″ and a width of 7’4″, there’s plenty of room to move throughout the G450 cabin. Seating includes fully reclining chairs or divans, and there are two bathrooms available at the front and rear of the aircraft. Additional features inside the G-450 fully include a full sized galley, and a large baggage compartment accessible mid-flight.

Performance

Upgraded Rolls Royce engines power the GIV-X, cruising at a maximum speed of Mach 0.88 while offering improved thrust, range, and fuel efficiency. All of this amounts to lower operating costs over its predecessor. The increased range of 4,350 nmi provides a luxurious & productive options for transcontinental and transoceanic routes.

Looking to get from here to there in the fastest way possible? Chartering in a private jet is the way to go.

Private charter flights allow you to go where you want, when you want. You don’t have to arrive at the airport two hours before your flight. You won’t have to stand in long security lines and getting frisked by TSA. There’s also no baggage claims, or making your way through crowded terminals.

When flying privately, you choose the date & time of your flight; where it departs from, and where it arrives; which airports are used for your flight – all the way to the type of food and drinks are served during your flight.

Private flights also utilize private terminals at both major and smaller airports, offering the most discrete, anonymous, and fastest way to board your aircraft.

There are more than 15,000 private planes out there available to be chartered. Each offers different capabilities, from size, range, and speed, to comfort and amenities on board. So which private jet will get you to where you need to go the fastest?

Let’s take a look at the world’s fastest private jets.

Dassault Falcon 900LX

Top Speed – Mach 0.87

The tri-jet Falcon 900LX is powered by three Honeywell engines, each providing 5,000 pounds of thrust. Once it reaches altitude, the 900LX is capable of reaching a maximum speed of 667 mph, while delivering a range of 4,750 nautical miles. And, like all Falcon models, it doesn’t carry any speed limitations in turbulence, meaning you’ll enjoy riding at full throttle no matter what you’re flying over.

Gulfstream G500

Top Speed – Mach 0.885

The wide-cabin G500 from Gulfstream is powered by twin Rolls Royce engines for a max speed of 679 mph. The G500 was actually the fastest jet Gulfstream offered, however, the soon to be mentioned G650 eclipsed its MMO (Maximum Mach Operating Speed). Still, the G-500 is an impressive aircraft, available for purchase with a price tag of $43.5 million.

Global 5000/6000

Top Speed – Mach 0.89

Next up, we have a pair of private jets from the same platform – the Global 5000 & Global 6000 from Bombardier. Powered by beefy Rolls Royce BR710 turbofans producing more than 14,000 ft/lbs of thrust each, both the 5000 and 6000 can reach max cruise speeds of up to 682 mph. They also offering incredible range, able to fly their model numbers in nautical miles at 5,200 nmi and 6,170 nmi, respectively.

Dassault Falcon 7X

Top Speed – Mach 0.90

One of only two tri-jet aircraft available for charter (the other being the aforementioned Falcon 900), the Falcon 7x from Dassault Aviation offers maximum speeds of up to 690 mph. Dassault also designed this long range jet to directly compete with Gulfstream and Bombardier, tying nearly any city pair together with a single stop with an impressive range of nearly 6,000 nmi.

Global 7500

Top Speed – Mach 0.925

Bombarider’s Global series is known for flying fast and far, and the all-new Global 7500 carries on the tradition. Entering service at the end of 2018, the 7500 is powered by new General Electric Passports, delivering 18,920 lbf of thrust to reach speeds of 710 mph. Bombardier’s new flagship long range business jet also delivers an industry-leading flight range of up to 7,700 nautical miles.

Gulfstream G650

Top Speed – Mach 0.925

One of the most luxurious, renowned, and exclusive private planes in the world, the Gulfstream G650 travels at just over 92% the speed of sound, or 710 mph. However, you won’t be bothered by roaring engines at 51,000 feet thanks to a a quiet cabin. Also called the G6, this long range jet carries a range of 7,000 miles, offering quick cross country flights or expedited arrivals overseas.

Cessna Citation X+

Top Speed – Mach 0.935

Meet the fastest private plane in the world, and the 3rd fastest civilian aircraft ever produced. – the Cessna Citation X Plus. Based on the previous title holder, the original Citation 10, the X+ bumps the MMO up from Mach 0.92 to 0.935 – that equals to 717 mph, or 1,153 km/h for all you land lubbers. Cessna ended production of their 750 model in 2018, however, a total of 338 planes were delivered over its 22 year production run (314 X’s; 24 X+’s), creating plenty of opportunities to charter one of your next flight.

Honorable Mention Aerion AS2

Top Speed – Mach 1.6

While not available until a projected date of sometime in 2023, the AS2 is a supersonic business jet currently under development by Aerion. The project has included Airbus, Lockheed Martin, and Boeing, and is powered by three General Electric Affinity engines developed specifically for the AS2, delivering 18,000 lbf (80 kN) thrust each, with a target of 1,227 mph. This 12-passenger supersonic jet will offer a projected range of around 4,750 nautical miles, and costs a cool $120 million.

Charter a Private Flight on the Cessna 560 Citation Ultra

Fly private on the Cessna 560 Citation Ultra, and upgraded Citation V with upgraded Pratt & Whitney Canada engines, EFIS instruments, and a refined cabin experience.

Cessna announced the update to their popular Model 560 (Citation V) in the early 1990s, improving their light jet platform with more powerful engines and upgraded avionics. The Ultra debuted in the business jet market in 1994 to critical acclaim, earning the title of ‘Best Business Jet’ by Flying Magazine.

Cessna also focused on meeting the demand for more cabin space in the light jet market, utilizing the same fuselage from the V, including 7 fully adjustable club seats, enclosed lavatory, recessed tables, and a full refreshment center. There’s also a spot for an 8th passenger using a belted lav seat.

To power the 560 Ultra, Cessna incorporated twin Pratt & Whitney Canada JT15D-5D turbofans, giving the Ultra plenty of power and versatility. One of the biggest o,provements was shirt runway performance, able to takeoff with just 3,200 feet of runway in optimal conditions and a full load. The nearly 2,000 nmi range is outstanding for a light jet, and its high cruise speed is ideal for private flights lasting up to 4 hours; ideal for non-stop flights from Los Angeles to Seattle and smiliar routes.

Aircraft Details “The Global 7500 aircraft was built to break all the records” ~ David Coleal, President of Bombardier Business Aircraft.

Meet Bombardier’s record-breaking flagship business jet, the all-new Global Bombardier Global 7500.

Bombardier created the world’s largest purpose-built business jet with the goal of redefining luxury and business aviation. The Global 7500 is the first & only business jet capable of performing non-stop flights from New York to Hong Kong, or Singapore to San Francisco. In fact, it recently set a speed & distance record for business aviation, completing a 16 hour non-stop 8,152 nautical mile flight from Singapore to Tucson at Mach 0.85.

Just a few weeks later, it departed from Los Angeles, CA at 7:01 am PST, and arrived in New York, NY at 1:55 pm EST. Sustaining a maximum speed of Mach 0.925 for more than two hours, the coast-to-coast flight from Van Nuys Airport to Teterboro Airport only took 3 hours and 54 minutes to complete, beating the previously held record.

Performance is just the beginning of the 7500’s allure. It was awarded the 2018 Red Dot Award winner for Product Design, offering the largest cabin in business aviation with 4 distinct living spaces, dual lavatories, and a full-size kitchen to go with its impressive range and speed. Bombardier’s all-new Nuage seating offer superior comfort and a deep recline, and is the first newly design seat in business aviation over the past 30 years.

Cabin

Passengers will take notice of Bombardier’s attention to detail and maximized cabin space once they board the Global 7500. The cabin feels more like a tubular high-end apartment than an aircraft interior, featuring 4 distinct cabin zones: a Club Suite, Media Suite, Conference Suite with a 6 seat convertible dining table, Master Suite with a bed and shower, plus a full service kitchen and a dedicated crew suite. The cabin is also highly customizable, able to accommodate more than 2 dozen configurations and layouts.

The Global 7500 also features the all-new Nuage seat, delivering the first major overhaul to business aviation seating in three decades. Cabin management systems are within arms reach of every seat (and the bed), giving you full control over temperature, sound, lighting, entertainment and more. This business jet also offers a high-capacity luggage compartment that is easy and safe to access throughout your flight.

Performance

Time is precious in the world of business, and the all-new Global 7500 is designed to conserve and maximize as much of it as possible. Offering an unmatched combination of speed, range, and comfort, twin General Electric Passport engines provide the 7500 with 18,920 lbf of thrust each, offering an unbeatable 7,700 nautical mile range, speeds of just over 700 mph, and unrivaled runway performance; this is the largest business jet able to access London City Airport.

The Global 7500 aircraft continues headline this new aircraft segment, creating record breaking headlines on its own, and setting the bar for performance and capabilities in the business aviation market.
