Valid

Sort of – not happy about the mount “equipment.”  It’s the Red Dot all over again…

Of course the biggest perk of 8.2 is the Pathfinder II for flying – another boring rep grind.  What a shocker.

Anyway, because I’m bored, I’ve been grinding the last Zandalari Empire rep I needed to unlock the allied race.

What a long, miserable grind.  It took me almost 3 weeks to go from 1/2 way through Revered to Exalted.  And that’s with a contract, DMF perks, missions, etc.

I actually got 2 whole missions for ZE rep during this time.  The contract gives an amazing extra 10 rep/WQ, and the DMF racks that up to 11 and regular ZE WQ rep up to about 83.

But I finally got it.

Boring grind

No, I didn’t make a ZE troll.  I can’t face another leveling experience so maybe some day.  I don’t have much of a reason to play Horde anyway.

Now with that out of the way, I was wondering what to do when I had a brilliant idea – why not take up healing again and heal some LFR with my cute little Panda Priest?

So…I set up everything I needed for Holy (Disc is just too convoluted), practiced a bit and queued for LFR.

I mean really – how hard can it be?

Holy Healing LFR

Yeah…that didn’t go too well.

What was really sad was that the Blood DK did more healing than I did.

And to add insult to injury, the “Top Healed” on the other healers’ Recount was – you guessed it – me.

It was kind of fun even though I sucked so I think with a few keybind adjustments I’ll give it another shot.

I did have one good thing this week.  I took my fresh 120 Warlock to Darkshore to get a gear upgrade, and the Ashenvale Chimera dropped.

A bit of luck

Now…what to do next week.

So…I thought I’d work on leveling my Green Fire Warlock up to 120 since she’s been sitting at 113 for while.

Things were going pretty good until I got to the underwater quest chain from the Tortollans.

I died twice.

Yes, I died twice with all the Warlock goodies:  a Soulstone (I forgot to use), Healthstones I forgot to conjure, and not using Drain Life because I didn’t have it on my bars.

Yup, the Black Harvest will probably revoke my Warlock card…

I did manage to make it to 117, so only 3 more miserable levels left to go.

I also have a Nightborne Warlock and a Void Elf Warlock both around level 33.  I just can’t bring myself to level two more characters.

I already have the Void Elf heritage armor, but not the Nightborne.  I think Nightborne and Void Elf Warlocks would be fun to play and look good but leveling…ugh.

I’d just race change my current Warlock to Void Elf but I don’t want to lose the Human rep buff because Blizzard is tying reps to everything these days.

Oh well.

Back to Island Expeditions.  Maybe I’ll get lucky and snag the parrot mount – HAHAHAHA!

I told myself I wasn’t going to level any more characters because 1) I have at least one of each class I don’t play and 2) leveling is horrible with all the experience nerfs.

But…I had the Allied Chubbies unlocked so I made a Monk.

Yes, I need another monk like I need another hole in my head but I’m still under the delusion that Monks are easy to level.

Ha!

I think I forgot to read my post about the last Monk I leveled…

It was painful.

But eventually I got her to 110 and got the heritage armor.

Yup, another Monk

I know all the cool kids were making Kul Tiran Druids but I never could get the hang of playing a Druid.

So with that done, I thought maybe I should get the BE Heritage armor for my Horde DH.  I had the BFA rep, what I didn’t have was the Silvermoon City rep.

DH…yeah….

Back to Silvermoon City to pick up a tabard and run some Outland dungeons until I hit Exalted.  I started somewhere at Friendly so it took about 9 Heroic dungeons to get the rest.

Not too bad.

Let’s not talk about how I got lost in Silvermoon City and couldn’t find my way out…

Okay..so I was lost for 30 min in Silvermoon City…

Moving on…

Other than that, I’ve just been kicking around running Island Expeditions for the pets.  I got enough doubloons to buy the seagull mount so now I’m saving up for the vendor pets.

I’ve picked up almost every pet as a drop and I got a couple of mounts.  Not the cute parrot mount, the big ugly Gronn mount.

I also got the Bloodgorged Hunter:

Ugly Blue Bat

Maybe I’ll get the parrot someday…

Only because I really wanted the Alliance wolf mount for the “Two Sides to Every Tale” Achievement.

On the down side, my Horde was sadly neglected and still at level 113 with hardly any rep for any faction, so it was a long haul.

Luckily I hit the DMF and the World Quests event at the same time so that helped a lot with the Honorbound rep I needed to complete enough achievs to get the last one required “Tides of War” (or whatever it’s called lol.)

What a long grind

I finally got it (took about 10 days of WQ and whatever else I could scrape up for rep.)  I didn’t get enough rep to open the Zandalari allied race, but I’m not a big troll fan anyway so that can wait.

All that work and she gets a horse…

I did make myself a Kul Tiras Monk – she’ll be sitting at level 20 like my Dark Iron Paladin because I really don’t feel like slogging through leveling.  Maybe later…

Anyway, I got the mounts so all is good.

Once in a while I’ll check the Legion dailies as I still never got the Highmountain, Farondis or Valajar mounts.

The Farondis and Valajar were up so I did those and of course no mount, but as I was hearthing back to BFA I saw the “?” at Valajar for the emissary box.

Good thing I went back because that one finally had the stupid mount.

Valarjar Stormwing

I’m not in a rush for the other two, it’s just something to do when I think about it.

I’ve been running my DH and Monk through the Darkshore warfront trying to get all the transmog leather pieces.  Between the two of them I have a set, but geez those weapons…

Of course if you want to use them you need two for DH and I think two maces for WW Monk, so good luck getting one.

I managed to get one of each and since they aren’t an upgrade from what I’ve got I can at least transmog them for the Darkshore “look.”

I’m so sick of warfronts….

I was determined to get the full transmog Darkshore gear experience for my Priest (no reason, just extra time over the holidays lol) so after a couple of days of running Darkshore every now and then, I finally got the Moonpriest set (and the set achiev!)

I guess I ran it enough times that I managed to snag both the Moonpriest’s Vestments and Moonpriest’s Garments.

Garments is the “shirt” version to wear with the pants:

Moonpriest’s Garments

And the Moonpriest’s Vestments if you prefer the robe version:

Moonpriest’s Vestments

I don’t think there is a Main Hand/Off-Hand caster weapon in Darkshore, so I might be stuck with the staff if I want the entire “look.”

As a side note, running Darkshore wasn’t nearly as mind-numbingly boring as Stromgarde.  I think it’s because you are always moving in Darkshore where as in Stromgarde there is a lot of “sit around and wait” time.

We’ll see if that theory holds up as I have to run my DH and/or Monk through Darkshore for the leather set….

During the holiday break, the Stromgarde warfront was up for Alliance so I thought it would be a good time to get some 340 gear for my cute little Panda Priest.  I also wanted the cloth set for transmog so I had ulterior motivation.

Ugh…so boring…

But I slogged my way through one after another as I had a 370 one-hand mace drop a while ago but of course no off-hand.

So I was using a 340 staff (those seem to drop like flies) and I also needed an upgrade from blue pants, shoulders and helm.

It took me several runs off and on during one day, but I eventually got shoulders, pants, helm and yes – the elusive off-hand.

All with only 16 hours left for the warfront.

Panda Priest gets the off-hand!

It would be nice to get the plate and mail sets but I don’t have any of those toons at 120 and it will probably be a while (lol forever) until I level them up.

I think there are three “varieties” for each armor type but I don’t care that much to keep slogging through warfronts.

Now…to get the leather and cloth Darkshore sets…here we go again.

I haven’t looked at GW2 for a long time (years??) so while I was uninstalling some stuff I never use, there it was.  I didn’t even remember installing it on this computer.

So after a very large and long update download, I was at the character screen trying to remember anything about the game.

I do have a very vivid memory of one of my characters dying numerous times until I ran out of “rez” money (yeah, pay for rez…) because I wandered into a higher level zone and was insta-killed over and over.

I think that’s when I quit playing.

I had three characters – the highest level one was level 20, followed by a level 12 and a level 5.

It was the level 20 that made me /ragequit and I assume she’s still dead and out of rez money, so I went for the level 5 because it was one of the cat people (forget what they’re called.)

I ran around for a while until I found a teleporter and teleported somewhere.  I have no idea where but there was a lot of snow around.

I was standing there deciding which way to go when suddenly I’m dead.

I was killed by a bat.

A flipping bat.

That was my first clue that maybe I was not in a place appropriate for a level 5.

I forgot where the exit portal was so I wandered around until I was killed by a bunny.

Yup, more rez money…

An NPC I talked to tried to give me a quest but I got a red message that it was a level 35 quest.

I thought “how hard can it be” and yeah, that was pretty stupid lol.

Insta-dead but fortunately there was another player on the same quest (level 36 or something) and she rezzed me.

I swear all I did was turn around and I was dead again.

She rezzed me again so I thanked her and said I was trying to get out here.

“Use the teleporter”

“Ummm….what teleporter?”

“The ones on your map…..”

I felt this nooby in a long time!

While I was looking at the map to find a teleporter, I was killed again.  She rezzed me again so I said “I think I’m just going to log off.”

She laughed and said “good luck.”

I managed to teleport back to a city without dying again, then logged off.

Maybe I’ll try again in another 5 years…
