Only because I really wanted the Alliance wolf mount for the “Two Sides to Every Tale” Achievement.
On the down side, my Horde was sadly neglected and still at level 113 with hardly any rep for any faction, so it was a long haul.
Luckily I hit the DMF and the World Quests event at the same time so that helped a lot with the Honorbound rep I needed to complete enough achievs to get the last one required “Tides of War” (or whatever it’s called lol.)
What a long grind
I finally got it (took about 10 days of WQ and whatever else I could scrape up for rep.) I didn’t get enough rep to open the Zandalari allied race, but I’m not a big troll fan anyway so that can wait.
All that work and she gets a horse…
I did make myself a Kul Tiras Monk – she’ll be sitting at level 20 like my Dark Iron Paladin because I really don’t feel like slogging through leveling. Maybe later…
I was determined to get the full transmog Darkshore gear experience for my Priest (no reason, just extra time over the holidays lol) so after a couple of days of running Darkshore every now and then, I finally got the Moonpriest set (and the set achiev!)
I guess I ran it enough times that I managed to snag both the Moonpriest’s Vestments and Moonpriest’s Garments.
Garments is the “shirt” version to wear with the pants:
And the Moonpriest’s Vestments if you prefer the robe version:
I don’t think there is a Main Hand/Off-Hand caster weapon in Darkshore, so I might be stuck with the staff if I want the entire “look.”
As a side note, running Darkshore wasn’t nearly as mind-numbingly boring as Stromgarde. I think it’s because you are always moving in Darkshore where as in Stromgarde there is a lot of “sit around and wait” time.
We’ll see if that theory holds up as I have to run my DH and/or Monk through Darkshore for the leather set….
During the holiday break, the Stromgarde warfront was up for Alliance so I thought it would be a good time to get some 340 gear for my cute little Panda Priest. I also wanted the cloth set for transmog so I had ulterior motivation.
But I slogged my way through one after another as I had a 370 one-hand mace drop a while ago but of course no off-hand.
So I was using a 340 staff (those seem to drop like flies) and I also needed an upgrade from blue pants, shoulders and helm.
It took me several runs off and on during one day, but I eventually got shoulders, pants, helm and yes – the elusive off-hand.
All with only 16 hours left for the warfront.
Panda Priest gets the off-hand!
It would be nice to get the plate and mail sets but I don’t have any of those toons at 120 and it will probably be a while (lol forever) until I level them up.
I think there are three “varieties” for each armor type but I don’t care that much to keep slogging through warfronts.
Now…to get the leather and cloth Darkshore sets…here we go again.
I haven’t looked at GW2 for a long time (years??) so while I was uninstalling some stuff I never use, there it was. I didn’t even remember installing it on this computer.
So after a very large and long update download, I was at the character screen trying to remember anything about the game.
I do have a very vivid memory of one of my characters dying numerous times until I ran out of “rez” money (yeah, pay for rez…) because I wandered into a higher level zone and was insta-killed over and over.
I think that’s when I quit playing.
I had three characters – the highest level one was level 20, followed by a level 12 and a level 5.
It was the level 20 that made me /ragequit and I assume she’s still dead and out of rez money, so I went for the level 5 because it was one of the cat people (forget what they’re called.)
I ran around for a while until I found a teleporter and teleported somewhere. I have no idea where but there was a lot of snow around.
I was standing there deciding which way to go when suddenly I’m dead.
I was killed by a bat.
A flipping bat.
That was my first clue that maybe I was not in a place appropriate for a level 5.
I forgot where the exit portal was so I wandered around until I was killed by a bunny.
Yup, more rez money…
An NPC I talked to tried to give me a quest but I got a red message that it was a level 35 quest.
I thought “how hard can it be” and yeah, that was pretty stupid lol.
Insta-dead but fortunately there was another player on the same quest (level 36 or something) and she rezzed me.
I swear all I did was turn around and I was dead again.
She rezzed me again so I thanked her and said I was trying to get out here.
“Use the teleporter”
“The ones on your map…..”
I felt this nooby in a long time!
While I was looking at the map to find a teleporter, I was killed again. She rezzed me again so I said “I think I’m just going to log off.”
She laughed and said “good luck.”
I managed to teleport back to a city without dying again, then logged off.
