“The View” co-host Meghan McCain revealed in a New York Times op-ed that she had briefly been pregnant and experienced a miscarriage just weeks ago. McCain said she decided to publicize the situation so that other women who miscarry don’t feel like they’re alone or have to hide.
“Miscarriage is a pain too often unacknowledged. Yet it is real, and what we have lost is real. We feel sorrow and we weep because our babies were real,” McCain wrote. “They were conceived, and they lived, fully human and fully ours — and then they died. We deserve the opportunity to speak openly of them, to share what they were and to mourn. More important, they deserve to be spoken of, shared and mourned. These children, shockingly small, shockingly helpless, entirely the work of our love and our humanity, are children.”
McCain described the process of learning she was pregnant and going through all the thoughts and concerns expecting parents have about their future and what it will be like. And she also describes the immense and sometimes overwhelming shame and guilt that the miscarriage brought.
“I blamed myself. Perhaps it was wrong of me to choose to be a professional woman, working in a high-pressure, high-visibility, high-stress field, still bearing the burden of the recent loss of my father and facing on top of that the arrows that come with public life,” McCain wrote. “This is not a complaint. This is reality. I blamed my age, I blamed my personality. I blamed everything and anything a person could think of, and what followed was a deep opening of shame.”
Miscarriage is tragically common, with as many as half of all pregnancies and 25 percent of all recognized pregnancies ending in miscarriage. McCain said she, and surely many other women, experience those miscarriages as mothers losing children.
“I have love for all the women who, like me, were briefly in the sisterhood of motherhood, hoping, praying and nursing joy within us, until the day the joy was over,” McCain wrote. “You are not alone.”
Fox News host Tucker Carlson points out the lack of factual differentiation between the two dozen remaining Democrat presidential candidates fighting to get to the top of the moral superiority platform.
Tucker: Democrat voters don't really have a lot of choices - YouTube
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio made it known this week that he would temporarily suspend presidential campaigning in order to stay in his own city and keep watch during the heatwave. Could New Yorkers rest easy? Well, not really:
1,2,3,4,5,6 trains not running because of a “network failure.” Scene from 42nd Street. Moms unable to climb the stairs with their strollers, people fanning themselves, a fight that broke as people tried to get into a car and the C train nowhere to be found @MTApic.twitter.com/odCulGw2ml
Update from MTA: * Service is being restored on the numbered lines. * They don’t think any trains lost power or AC during the outage. * “We do not currently have indications that this was heat or power related, but investigations are underway.”
Mayor de Blasio quickly stepped up and took responsibility. And by “took responsibility” we mean threw MTA officials under one of their own buses:
As reported, the MTA has suspended the 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and Grand Central S trains in both directions due to a network communications issue. We have reached out for an ETA on when service will be restored.
This kind of meltdown during a heat wave is UNACCEPTABLE. The MTA owes every single New Yorker an explanation for this. We’ve known about this dangerous weather for DAYS. There’s no excuse for why they aren’t prepared.
A lot of hot and frustrated riders right now on these suspended lines. Know that your city agencies are working to get as much information as we can from the MTA on the cause and on when they’ll restore service.

Harvard and Princeton professor Cornel West said that President Donald Trump is becoming the American version of Hitler and a “Fascist Frankenstein” after the controversial chant at his North Carolina rally.
West made the comments as a guest on CNN Friday with Anderson Cooper.
“I just find that chant so depressing and we’ve all seen this kind of thing done before,” said Cooper, “you know, send them back was said to the Irish, it was said to Italians at the turn of the century who came in waves, it was said to the Chinese, it was said to every wave of immigrants who have come to these shores who are now embraced as Americans, and their descendants now are saying send her back to this congresswoman.
“When you heard that chant, what, I mean how do you explain that?” he asked.
“I’m like you, brother, I’m very grim and down and out,” responded West.
“But I said to myself I need to be more fortified in the name of more consistency, spiritual witness and political courage. And I said to myself, I will not stoop so low, that when Fred Trump, and when Maryanne Trump, and when [first lady] Melania Trump came as German, as Scotch, as Slovenian that I would not want to say to them you have to go back,” he explained.
“I’ve been here nine generations as a black man, enslaved, Jim Crow, James Crow, at the center of the American experiment, at the center of the Democratic experiment, I’m not gonna stop so low to be in the gutter with Trump. We have to be very clear though this is not just a matter of Trump as racist, and I was sad to see the Democratic party couldn’t just call him a racist as opposed to saying his words are racist, that was a bit weak for me,” West continued.
“But Donald Trump, Brother Trump, is at this moment becoming the American version of a Hitler and a Mussolini, we have created a Fascist Frankenstein,” West exclaimed, “and I say we, it’s not just the decrepit Republican party with all of the collaborationists and the facilitators.”
West went on to mock Republicans that he thought were complicit in the president’s policies.
“They have adjusted themselves to a profoundly unjust pro-fascist way of being in the world in terms of being lawless,” said West, “hiding and concealing and rationalizing this kind of unadulterated raw hatred.”
The president later said that he didn’t like the chant and claimed that he tried to speak faster in order to move on during his speech at the rally.
Our ridiculous woke culture continues to expand its list of victims.
Kathy Zhu, who had won Miss Michigan in the Miss World America pageant, was stripped of her crown this week. The reason? Supposed racism, insensitivity, and Islamophobia. When you look into the details though, you’ll see how ridiculous the charges are and just how depraved certain segments of our society have become.
Below, she shares an email and text message exchange that better explains the situation.
Miss World America’s State/National/Chief Director accused me of being racist, Islamaphobic, and insensitive.
They stripped me of my Miss Michigan title due to my refusal to try on a hijab in 2018, my tweet about black on black gun violence, and “insensitive” statistical tweets. pic.twitter.com/K1Btho0Pgq
Her “racism” amounted to sharing truthful statistics about black and black gun violence on social media. Her “Islamophobia?” She refused to put on a hijab when prompted to at an event on a college campus and later remarked that it was oppressive. Yes, that’s the extent of it. She simply refused to put on a head covering that is a symbol of forced oppression for hundreds of millions of women across the world. While some may disagree with having that description of the hijab, that’s hardly a reason to strip a woman of such a great accomplishment that she’s no doubt worked incredibly hard for.
When you read the exchanges, it seems like they were searching for a reason to punish her. The nonsense about her name, then all the sudden it’s about social media posts, then it’s about “racism,” which naturally serves a bludgeon regardless of the facts.
DeJack specifically referred to a contestant requirement that Zhu be “of good character” and have a background that “is not likely to bring into disrepute Miss World America or any person associated with the organisation,” according to a screenshot Zhu shared.
“Therefore, and effective immediately, MWA does not recognise you as a participant of any sort or in any capacity as it relates to any and all events of MWA,” the email stated.
The shot at her character is especially low. Saying she broke the rules is one thing. Trying to personally malign her is another and they are doing the latter.
The left-wing media are of course lapping this up. Here’s Newsweek’s ridiculous write up.
“Are the people in MWA implying that they advocate for the punishment of women who refuse to wear a hijab?” Zhu added. She did not provide any evidence to suggest the MWA was indeed in favor of punishing women for refusing to wear hijabs.
Right-wing Twitter users began sharing the story, citing it as evidence of anti-conservative bias and political correctness. BlazeTV host Lauren Chen said Zhu was stripped of her title “for highlighting crime rates in some black communities. The fact that these pageant people find her views offensive speaks more to their own bigotry than anything else.”
Music video director Robby Starbuck incorrectly interpreted the incident as proof that “you can’t even participate in a @MissWorldLtd pageant if you’re *gasp* openly Republican.” Conservative musician and activist Joy Villa also misread the situation, falsely claiming Zhu had been blocked from competing because the was a conservative.
MWA did not immediately respond to Newsweek‘s request for comment.
I love the “she did not provide any evidence” line. You know, except them stripping her of her crown over it. How the other personalities mentioned are “misreading” the situation is something Newsweek doesn’t expand on of course.
Of course, the real reason she was stripped of her crown is simple. She’s a Trump supporter and a conservative, which means she’s not allowed to express herself in even the most mundane ways without backlash. If she weren’t those things, I have no doubt this wouldn’t have happened to her.

CNN held a rather comical lotto-showcase to unveil the candidate line-up for their two night democrat candidate debate on Tuesday July 30th, and Wednesday July 31st. The debate line-up lotto was held one day after the DNC club announced the 20 presidential candidates who qualified the second debate.
[Former Senator Mike Gravel, Mayor Wayne Messam, former Representative Joe Sestak and billionaire Tom Steyer were the four presidential candidates who did not make the second round of debates.]
The first night is the all white line-up: the Thriller in Vanilla; and will put Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren on the stage along with Pete Buttigieg and Beto O’Rourke. It will be interesting watch how the communist and socialist differentiate themselves, the crowd is expecting a free stuff frenzy.
Meanwhile white male Beto needs to take a bite out of white male Buttigieg to survive to round three. Mayor Pete has been stealing all of self-flagellating Beto’s support; and the cashmere might start flying if the limo-liberals enter a demolition derby.
Ironically the second night puts all of the peoples’ of color candidates together. Additionally, in a delicious luck-o’-the draw, ‘spank me’ Harris is in position to finish off ‘creepy’ Joe Biden.
Obviously most of the pressure is upon Creepy to have a good debate and stop the downward spiral of support losses to Spank Me and How. However, that possible conflict opens the door for Booker to play the creed-card and mount a multi-front racist attack with an opening statement in Congolese.
