I'm Sylvia, a 19-year-old student living in a little country called Malaysia. I started this blog as I thought it would be a great project to do and share with the rest of the internet. I Plus, I enjoy sharing my experience with different makeup and skincare products to help you as a buyer and reader to get a gist of whether the product is worth it or interesting enough for you to try on..
I’ve wanted to get this review out and away as soon as I can because a lot of people have been asking for swatches and my thoughts on it. So here goes~
So this is Etude House’s Fall-Winter 2018 collection. The colours are very warm and fall colours in the more nudey section~
The collection is inspired by the art of coffee.
“An eyeshadow palette with pink to reddish brown coffee tone color lineup for elegance point makeup.
Allows soft application without smudge and gives distinctive color payoff with powerful consistency.”
Each shadow is 0.02 oz or 0.8g x 10. It retails for RM 103 (currently has 20% off!) (USD 24).
If I’m being completely honest, I wasn’t a big fan of the Play Color Eyes collection because I thought the palette wasn’t of good quality. But now going back to Etude House, I think their formulas have improved a whole lot than what it was before and they have changed it up so much, so I can confidently say that I genuinely like this palette!
The packaging is simple and cute, I have always applaud Etude for their packaging, they always look good. It comes in a standard eyeshadow case that is slim and easy to store~
The colours are definitely really fall/winter, and warm, which are the kind of colours I love and fall for and I definitely think a lot of people would enjoy too! There are 3 finishes- mattes, satin and glitter. This allows you to create many different looks from every day to full glam~
The shimmer and glitter shades feel really buttery, the matte ones feel fine and they all pack a lot of pigmentation, a little really does go a long way. Even using brushes to pick up the product packs on pigmentation amazingly.
The shadows are also really easy to blend and glide easily on the skin. I like using an eyeshadow primer with my shadows so it helps to grab onto them and locks them in place. They don’t feel chalky, even the matte shades feel fine and have no fallout.
Overall, a great palette! Beautiful colours with great pigmentation. The glitter and shimmer shades feel extra buttery. The shades also don’t feel chalky and I haven’t experienced any fallouts. Lasts all day long and blends and glides easily on the skin~

So these are some of Etude House’s new lip products- their soft drink tints.
They’re obviously really cute. I love how the bottles look, it’s so tiny and adorable. I want to show them off on my vanity but they’re also so easy to put in your purse to bring around. Overall, a big A+++++ for me on the packaging.
Disclaimer: This image does not belong to me
This product claims to be “fresh and cool like soft drink, soda gel texture provides long-lasting vivid color”.
You get 4.6g of product each (but for the lipgloss it’s just 4g), they retail RM30 (USD 7.25) which is really affordable!
You already know I like the packaging, you probably love it too~ Besides being cute, it’s also actually really sturdy and doesn’t seem likely to break easy. The bottles are screw-ins, so you don’t really have to worry about it coming off and spilling everywhere.
The colours as acclaimed are super pigmented! I’m talking one swipe pigmented which is great, Their formula has more of a gel-like watery feeling which is definitely how they describe them to be. Application is really simple, the applicator does its job well and is also a really good size.
The longevity of these tints are amazing. Once you let them stain your lips, there’s no going back. They last for hours, probably even a whole day. My oil makeup remover can’t even get them fully off. But worry not, it does take a while for it to set on the skin, so if you made a mistake, you can quickly fix it without it complete staining your skin.
On top of all of that, another thing I’m impressed with is that all the tints are different scents. There’s cola, peach, orange, grape, and yoghurt. This was really impressive cause Etude went that extra mile! Usually, lip tints of the same range would smell the same.
Here are the swatches on my lips, first with the tint on and then with the tint blotted:
Note: Some pictures used are taken by my friend Aizat
One of my favourite makeup items of all time is blushes. And, I’d much prefer if my blush came in a palette than having them individually, so being able to use this on both my lips and my cheek is a win-win.
*I’m wearing Warm Rose Tea (first shade from the left)
This is an 8-colour lip and cheek palette as if steeping soft and warm tea. It claims to apply smoothly onto the lips that create a semi-matte finish.
There aren’t any other claims, coming down to it, it’s quite straightforward- it’s a cream-based product that could be used on the lip and cheek.
0.6 g for the smaller colours and 1g each for the cheek shades. This product retails for RM 84 (USD 26.40)
Let’s just jump straight into it. The packaging is cute, simple, also looks similar to their Play Color eyes, since it is kinda the same line. It has a mirror build in it which is handy for travelling.
I really enjoy the colours. I think they’re very pretty- mostly warm tones too. The colour varies mostly just slightly from each other. I think they also suit a lot of different skin tones. The product feels velvety and smooth to touch, it glides smoothly onto the skin and the lips. The colours are also really pigmented!
It shows up obviously on the skin. As acclaimed, it has a semi-matte finish, so it doesn’t really feel drying on the lips, it has more of a satin finish. With that being said, It’s definitely not transfer-proof. Transfer easy and doesn’t last that long if you eat or drink, but if you’re not doing anything it lasts decently.
As a blush, the colours are pigmented enough but not overpowering. It melts and blends into the skin effortlessly, I love how they look on the skin, and almost all the colours could be used on the skin for sure. I love how Warm Rose Tea looks as a blush and a lipstick, that’s my favourite shade!
I’m still on the hunt for the best mascara for me, this seems like a good start.
So, I finally got a new mascara and this time I decided to try a brown colour as it’s usually different from what I’m used to! So this is my first brown mascara.
Generally, my eyelashes are straight and won’t really curl. I use to have given up on my lashes and only use falsies, but a friend of mine told me that if you use mascara often, your lashes will grow! So I’ve been using mascara more and I have noticed some changes in the length of my lashes, I guess it does work!
The one I was using was not making me happy. By the end of the day, it’ll smudge all over my bottom lash, making me look like I have panda eyes. Moreover, it was quite difficult to apply on my tinny little baby lower lashes. And so I finally went to a store and bought a new one!
So, this is one of their more popular mascaras. The Curl Fix!, it claims to be the world’s first dual jelly brush mascara where it is specially designed for Asian eyes. It will result in a clean finish, thorough application and is irritant-free. The brush is also apparently made of the same soft jelly material that doesn’t irritate the eyes.
It has 8g of product and retails for RM 58.80 (USD 14.40).
Honestly, I don’t need a mascara that lasts 24 hours, at most maybe half of that. But the biggest thing I’m looking for in a mascara is making my lashes just somewhat more visible than it is and doesn’t smudge. I’ve been using this daily for a while and I seem to really like it. The bristles in the wand help cost my lashes nicely, even the lower ones with its pointy end without any clumping.
With the irritation, I definitely don’t feel irritated and there isn’t any terrible smell coming from the product so for those with sensitive eyes, you’re in luck! That special jelly thing is special I suppose~
Well, I did also pick a brown colour, thinking it would look more “natural”, who am I kidding? I don’t really like the brown if anything I’d still go for the black. With that being said, it looks pretty cute with normal makeup (no eyeliner or soft brown liner) but not my “going out” makeup. It looks quite weird and crusty and doesn’t blend with my false lashes too. So if I were to buy it again, black it is!
Also, it removes really well with an oil-based makeup, so make you’re using when to remove it or it may be difficult!
These are the before pics. My eyelashes are quite pathetic lol. I’m also using a softer brown pencil liner.
And this is after, my lashes do look longer and more obvious.
Overall, a solid product. It doesn’t smudge. Makes my lash longer and thicker looking. However, it’s more of an everyday mascara than anything else. It’ll look weird if you’re going for a fuller look with black liquid liner and all. I would recommend even if you have baby lashes like mine.
Do you have any favourite products from Etude House? Will you get it? Or have you tried it? Let me know!

When you’re planning your wedding, it’s a good practice to compartmentalize your to-do list in order not to be overwhelmed. Then, after compartmentalizing, make subdivisions as well as to draw a clear line to all your wedding responsibilities. Take for example your wedding flower arrangement. It is not just one phone call. Your wedding flowers need to be classified to decorations, fillers such as table flowers, accessories, and more. Your hand bouquet most likely will fall under accessories.
Now, if the flowers online Singapore in charge of your decorations is really talented and can make your hand bouquet as well, then that’s great! However, if you have looked at their samples and are not entirely satisfied with their designs, do not hesitate to look for someone specializing on designing hand bouquets. After all, it is a central piece to your breathtaking bridal ensemble.
Perform your initial search.
Your good friend, the internet, can help you get started. Initial searches are mostly just canvassing—checking out flower shop in Singapore websites, looking at their sample designs. Other than the internet, you can ask recommendations from friends and family as well. Perhaps they can give you good options that you can compare with the good ones who found during your online search.
Look for a great florist.
With a quick search query in search engines, you can immediately find suggestions for online florist with hand bouquet designs as their speciality. You can substantiate this by asking the advice of your married (or perpetual bridesmaid) friends. Being a great florist also means having a good work ethic, so be sure to check the customer reviews of the ones you like. Choose the best among your list of final florists and contact them right away. They might be in-demand and may require advance booking or reservation if you want a direct service from the shop’s florist.
Consult with your florist.
After you have secured your florist, tell them what you want or your vision for your hand bouquet from the get-go. Don’t forget to tell them your wedding’s theme as well. This is your basis for your unique hand bouquet style as well as for future alterations or additions. Your florist in Singapore can give you what you want as long as you are clear with your theme and specifications. Ask for at least three different designs so you can have more options. Some charge extra for this particular service, so be sure to ask about the rates.
I’m excited to announce that I am part of the Althea Angel team!
What is the Althea Angels you ask? Well, we’re basically Althea’s beauty ambassadors. I am so happy to be working with them as they provide such great services and creative boxes which I honestly love collecting them. So look forward to me working with them more!
If you don’t know Althea, well you’ve been missing out! They are an online website that sells Korean cosmetics and ships worldwide. They also offer amazing deals for their products and have interesting events often.
I got some exciting goodies from them, including their 3rd birthday tote bag, an exclusive makeup bag and mirror. The tote bag is actually amazing because not only is it cute, it has a really good quality (not like those cheap feeling ones) and has a great size! I could fit a lot of things in there and it sits on my shoulder comfortably and nicely.
So if you want one for yourself, do shop at Althea, and you could get one if you spent above RM150! Moreover you can also get 10% off all your orders until 30th September 2018 using the code ALTHEATURNS3.
Another surprise they have is that they have new products! WHAT? I was really shocked too, they just dropped their skincare line now there are more? Talk about grinding. So these two are skin detoxer masks which only takes 10 seconds. You heard me right, so if you’re a lazy bum bum or just need a quick daily face fix, this would be amazing!
These products were a collaboration between Althea and Get It Beauty which is Korea’s no. 1 beauty TV show that shows trends and informative videos regarding beauty. How exciting!
Thinking of getting it but don’t know if it’s worth it? Don’t worry, I gotchu. So here’s my review.
Real Fresh Skin Detoxer: Rose
This is a morning mask, this product helps with potect and balance pH levels of our skin, and even it out for a better makeup application. The coolest thing about this is that the product contains real hand picked May rose petals that are from southern France! Roses also help with improving blood circulation that helps it looking plump and fresh~
The masks definitely smelly strong of roses which is really relaxing, I quite like it. The texture of the product feels rich and sort of oily but I think it’s normal for a rose mask like this (I have experience from one I tried from Innisfree). I personally think it doesn’t feel that nice on the skin when you put it on because to me it sort of feels like a thick oily gel buttering my face up but it’s definitely worth it! It also feels pretty lightweight and spreads easily onto the skin.
Also, I felt a slight stinging when I used it the first couple of times. There are frangrances added into the list, but nothing I can’t handle. So if your skin is really sensitive, do take note.
After using it, my skin not only smells great (some rose scent still lingering around), my skin feel pretty soft and smooth like baby’s buttocks. I can’t get over how this just happened in 10 seconds, it kind of feels like a miracle. I’ve been using this for a while now and I do notice that my skin feels more soft and smooth that it was before. But I use it every other day, I don’t really think I’m up for it everyday.
With that being said it’s because I feel that after using it, my skin also feels quite dry and I could feel like my skin feels a little tuggy, so I would immediately move on with my toner to get that hydration back. Despite this fallback, my skin still really does feel soft and smooth. It also has some great ingredients such as Beta-glucan which I have came across before, it is said to be a moisturising ingredient. Maybe that’s how it makes the skin softer but I don’t really understand why my skin feels a little tight after using..
A while ago I was invited to Red Seal’s all natural toothpaste launch. I’ve never thought toothpaste could impact you in such a large way.
Red Seal is a natural healthcare organisation that combines scientific knowledge with natural ingredients since 1923. Their toothpaste has been around since 1984, that’s 34 years! Since they were so successful, they were able to expand from New Zealand to Australia, China, South Korea, Japan, and now Malaysia~
During the launch, I discovered that the usual toothpaste contains harsh chemicals and we are directly ingesting it as our mouth has around a 90% absorption rate. These chemicals could cause irritation and might be a health hazard.
However, Red Seal uses natural herbal extracts and essential oils such as anise seed, peppermint, and eucalyptus in their formula. These ingredients are highly alkaline which prevents bacteria growth. One very unique ingredient from their toothpaste is Totarol oil from the Totora tree (NZ’s own native tree) that helps with eliminating bad breath~
There are 5 tooth paste to choose from:
Natural toothpaste, which is their signature. It is a combination of 12 herbs and extracts to help remineralization and killing off the bacteria to prevent tooth decay and plaque formation. It has a mild, minty pleasant taste, and is suitable for the whole family.
Natural SLS Free Toothpaste, for those who are ulcer-prone. These have a special formula as it is free-of-Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS). It provides gentle protection on the mucosa layer. It is also suitable for people who wear teeth braces.
The Propolis Toothpaste contains 100% New Zealand bee propolis with antiseptic and antibacterial properties, ideal for sufferers of gingivitis and sensitive gums.
The Baking Soda Toothpaste is used to remove stains naturally, suitable for coffee or tea drinkers. It has also been used as a natural teeth whitener. My cousin currently uses this and says it works. She really loves it!
The natural KidsToothpaste for the little ones. The taste is enhanced with real banana and peach flavours! The great taste encourages the kids to brush their teeth without having to worry about the risk of swallowing harmful chemicals.
The range is available exclusively at Caring Malaysia. Their prices range is from RM18.70 to RM28.20.
