Welcome to Sorabelle, a beauty, fashion and lifestyle blog created by myself, Vicky Lee. Born and raised in Seoul, Korea and now loving life in London, let me be your guide to all that is new in the world of style and beauty trends, Korean beauty and travel.
Sustainable fashion. It’s not something we often think about, but maybe we should all be shining more light on this topic. Shockingly the fashion industry is one of the worst environmental polluters in the world, second only to the oil industry. I was so shocked and saddened to discover this. It’s mainly caused from over farming and the extensive pesticides used in the growth of the cotton, not to mention the chemicals used in the manufacturing process. It’s upsetting to know that this all impacts on the soil for future uses. Its so damaging for the environment.

The root of this catastrophic problem is what we call ‘fast fashion’. This new culture of unbelievably cheap fashion garments, that are really designed to buy and throw a way. There’s no longevity to these low cost clothes which are literally piling up in landfills. When you see the size of the of the fast fashion stores, you can only imagine the amount of clothes that will get thrown out after little use. Disturbingly I found out that a lorry full of thrown out clothes gets sent to landfill every second.

However there is a quiet army of brands out there really trying to make a difference. I believe its our duty as consumers to support these companies. If we can get behind these companies and at least slow down this trend for fast fashion, we could hopefully start reversing some of these horrible affects. One way we can do this is by buying into designers that have an ethical heartbeat.

Take for example, Beulah, this wonderful London fashion boutique vows to empower women who make and wear their clothes. They a re part of the new movement of brands and businesses embracing better business practices with 10% from all of their sales funding The Beulah Trust. Amazingly the funds from Beulah Trust help to support projects and initiatives that create sustainable livelihoods for victims of trafficking.

Recently I was really impressed to discover the lengths Guerlain are going to become a sustainable beauty house. There are really leading the way for cosmetic companies. With such a prestigious name in the beauty world i hope that their efforts really inspire other houses to follow suit.

I think being able to support independent designers and artisans is amazing. Wolf and Badger sells the worlds best independent fashion, jewellery, accessories, homeward and beauty brands. They carefully select ethical and socially conscious designers from all over the world, showcasing their products. Its fantastic! This way independent designers can thrive and get the exposure they need, and we as consumers get to purchase super stylish items that are ethical.

Marks and Spencer’s will be making a big statement this Spring Summer 19 with the debut of their vegan shoe range. I’m so pleased to see that they are making efforts to become more ethical, hopefully this will create a butterfly effect on the high street as well. Keep your eyes peeled to my Instagram stories as I can unveil a sneaky preview of this ground breaking vegan shoe range! I think you’re going to love them!

To mark the turn of the lunar year, Chinese New Year has been celebrated for centuries in China and in more recent years all over the world. This years celebrates the Year of the Pig. I love this holiday which sees a magnificent New Year’s Day parade through Chinatown. It’s amazing opportunity for families to gather together to watch the dragon dances and spectacular firework displays. Colours are really important in Chinese culture and all have significant meanings. The vibrant red colour is the most popular colour and is seen to bring good luck. I love to see design houses bringing out special limited editions especially for this holiday.
My favourite this year is the beautiful collection designed by Guerlain. I have recently been super impressed with the release of a report showing their commitment to being a socially responsible house. I think it’s so admirable how they are showing great initiative and incredible thoughtfulness towards the wellness of our world. I feel that a design house with such a prestigious name like Guerlain can really lead the way for other houses and cosmetic companies to follow.
As part of their advances towards creating a more sustainable world they have become the first house to offer clients to return their empty packaging to CEDRE, a sorting and recycling platform set up by LVMH. They also promise to refurbish the iconic news bottles for like. Which is why I’ve fallen in love with the limited edition Eau de Cologne Imperiale by Guerlain. Such a classic and beautiful fragrance. I love the subtle and delicate citrus fragrance, its a staple on my dressing table. Especially now its has been redesigned with a stunning festive red bottle. The lemon and bergamot notes make this perfume an easy and delightful day fragrance.
Every girl loves their skincare. It feels wonderful to treat your skin with luxurious lotions and potions. Look no further than the Chinese New Year 2019 Abeille Royale Lifting Oil. Guerlain have worked tirelessly to create this powerful formula that contains Ouessant Black Bee Honey and Royal Jelly. I would describe it as being as rich as an oil, with the strength of a serum yet feels fresh to the skin like a lotion. I love how soft my skin feels to the touch after use. It’s also important to me that I know Guerlain are working hard to protect and sustain our bees. The bee has been such an inspiration to this design house and they want to make sure they are well look after, realising their incredibly power and importance in this world. I love that Guerlain has introduced a programme to raise children’s awareness of the need to protect the bees.
I always enjoy a red lip and this is the perfect time of year to rock one! The Guerlain KissKiss lipsticks are increasingly hydrating and conditioning, which is perfect for this time of year. I find my lips appear fuller and more plumped thanks to the Commiphora oil. I love the special limited edition red packaging. It also comes in 3 different shades of Rouge isn’t your colour, there’s Sexy Coral or Sugar Kiss. For the ultimate in lipstick luxury you simply must have a carry case. Guerlain has created this beautiful lipstick carry case, with double mirror design allowing me to reapply on go. A must have for every busy girl about town.
Hot chocolate with marshmallows, roaring fires and snowy scenes are all winter time favourites! It’s such a cosy time of year when you get the chance to really dress the part. The colder temperatures lend themselves perfectly for layering, luxurious fabrics and extra accessories. I love to embrace all the cosy knits and boots while I can. Before we know it the warmer months will be upon us. Take a look at some of my most favourite winter looks.
Dress by Beulah
I think green is a wonderful colour all year round but it really comes in to its own during winter. I love this deep luscious green tone. It makes me think of beautiful Christmas trees, I can almost smell the pine! I just adore this satin wrap dress. The bow detail is just gorgeous and so on trend at the moment. I love this dress styled casual with boots, however I can just imagine it with some strappy heels and some gold jewellery for a night out.
Outfit by Beulah
The colder months are the perfect excuse to wear plusher fabrics and velvet is the most sumptuous of them all. I love the elegance and richness that velvet portrays. I think it looks amazing in any colour, although darker shades or a simple black is my favourite. It’s unusual softness and appearance means historically it has often been associated with royalty. So dress up in a beautiful velvet gown to feel like a queen for the night!
Skirt and Knit by Beulah
Skirt and Knit by Beulah
A beautiful chunky knit should be a staple piece in any winter wardrobe. Although this one is less ‘chunky’ its a cashmere blend ensuring all of the warmth without the bulk. I love the high neck and the unusual balloon sleeves. They add a little something extra, and much more fun than a regular polo neck jumper. Teamed up with a flirty floral skirt and heels I think it creates a gorgeous feminine silhouette. However this knit would look perfect with some jeans and biker boots for a more casual look.
Dress by Beulah
The chilly days won’t stop me! I love this mini dress inspired by the swinging sixties. I think whatever the weather you should wear what makes you feel happy and comfortable. If you would feel the cold then there are plenty of amazing patterned or plain tights available. This style of dress works well with knee high or even thigh high boots. This is my winter go-to party outfit!
Tweed Suit by Beulah
I feel like I’m always wearing trousers in the winter so as an alternative I love to wear culottes and create that full skirt effect. This tweed suit in a jewel blue shade is everything! I love the simplicity and elegance of a two piece. I think there’s so many ways of wearing suits and it can lend itself to almost any occasion. I added a wide belt to cinch in the waist to create that ultimate feminine silhouette.
Dress by Beulah
I adore this gold star devore maxi dress. It’s a really show-stopping outfit for those winter events. I teamed it with some gorgeous golden accessories to accentuate this glistening gown. The sheer sleeves provide a gentle coverage, while the plunging neckline creates a sexy vibe.
Jumpsuit by Beulah
Boho chic is not just for the summer months. The classic seventies festival vibe is the newest trend to be wearing these winter months. I love embracing this free-spirited fashion with this velvet jumpsuit and turban styled silk scarf. I think this outfit would take you from lunch with the girls to a glamorous dinner date.
There’s an extra exuberance about Paris during Fashion Week. The streets come alive with the passionate fashion followers busily hurrying around the city to catch each show. I love to get caught up with all the excitement in the air. Starting off every day with a delicious croissant and finishing with a beautiful glass of Sancerre, what’s not to love about Paris Fashion Week. I saw some amazing collections this year, all promising exciting new trends for the upcoming seasons! Here are my favourite looks and trends that we will all be wearing.
Pretty Little Bow
Jumper by ShuShu Tong, Shorts by YSL via Browns Fashion, Boots by Julia Mays
If there’s a must have feature for next season then its got to be the bow. This fun little accessory will be seen and worn everywhere. From in your hair, to on your shoes, or even oversizes ones adorning the back of your cocktail dress. We saw beautiful black bows in ponytails at Emilia Wickstead. Also gorgeous crystallised bow necklaces and headbands at Miu Miu. I love that these little additions can make any outfit more fun and on the whimsical side.
Sweater by Eudon Choi, Pants by ShuShu Tong
Again at Paris Fashion Week we saw designers favouring styles take from the 80’s. Some designers used satins, laces to cottons but they all opted for highlighter-bright shades. We will definitely be seeing lots of bright neon garments next season. If you find these shades a little daunting then simply add some vibrant accessories. But be bold and you’ll be surprised how much you enjoy wearing these neons!
Sunnies by Illesteva via NetAPorter, Coat by ShuShu Tong
I love when designers play around with new fabrics. This fashion week we saw lots of different types of fabrics on the catwalks. The one that stood out for me the most was velvet. It’s such a luxurious fabric, always giving a sophisticated look. Wear a beautiful velvet coat over any outfit, day or night, to give that extra wow factor.
Shirts to Dress
Dress & Belt by Isabel Marant via NetAPoter
The best desk to dinner outfit has to be the shirt dress! I love how flattering an oversized shirt dress is being cinched in with a belt. To add extra style points team your shirt with some cowboy boots. This is a such a fun look, and very current. Typically shirt dresses are longer in length, cotton or broderie anglaise in style. I love this romantic feel and how you can feel amazing in such a simple style. It’s super feminine yet casual and covered up too.
Jumper by Brooks Brothers, Skirt by Xu Zhi, Shoes by Julia Mays, Bag by The Cambridge Satchel Company
There’s nothing more fun and feminine than a full skirt to swish about in. I love the feeling of a full skirt, which I think can be dressed up or down. They look amazing with a chunky knit tucked in and some cowboy boots. For an evening look pair your full skirt with a sequin cami top or a sheer blouse for extra glam.
Trousers by Warehouse, Boots by Julia Mays
Above all I need to feel comfortable and relaxed in my outfits. Thankfully designers adopted a luxuriously simple and demure silhouette. Together with beautifully natural shades like oatmeal, biscuit and off-whites. I think this colour palette gives an effortlessly sophisticated, expensive and grown-up look. Next season you can’t be more on trend than wearing a full outfit consisting of a range of neutrals tones.
Outfit by Pinko
Animal print, especially leopard, continues to make waves in the fashion world. Designers used different prints in their collections securing it a style staple for next season. Don’t be afraid to dress head to toe in animal print a la Tom Ford, or just have a little hint like at Burberry. To keep the look elegant stay true to the prints main colours. If its a black and white print choose bold shades such as a red to make it pop. With a brown print use a creamy beige, or caramel and coffee tones to give a luxurious feel.
Green for Go
Dress by Eudon Choi
All shades of green, whether it be pistachio or sage, will be very popular next season. I absolutely love green, i think that it can compliment any skin tone and suits blondes or brunettes. Some say that green is a lucky colour so make sure you fill up your wardrobe with this delicious shade. I think its a great transitional colour to take you from out of the cold winter into the freshness of spring. Wear a beautiful green dress with white boots to make it really pop!
Suit by Eudon Choi
This fashion season we saw designers really pushing the idea of empowering women through their clothes. I love the collections that promoted a strong and confident look. Super soft yet tailored suits are the perfect balance between being powerful and feminine. I believe that the right clothes can greatly enhance your confidence. Enjoy wearing beautifully tailored suits in perfectly pretty pink shades.
Suit by Eudon Choi
I love how certain outfits can inspire confidence. I feel ready for business when I put a suit on. Thankfully the designers this year at Paris Fashion Week have shone a spotlight on women’s suits. They showcased different types of suits, from minimal styling to oversized and exaggerated. Invest in a beautifully tailored suit and it’ll see you through any occasion. Obviously I love to rock the power suit for a business meeting, but team it with some sneakers and a plain white tee and you got a great casual look too!
I love playing around with accessories! The options are endless, mixing up outfits with different adornments. I’ve recently been showcasing some beautiful scarves, using them as fantastic additions to my outfits. Some say they are the ultimate fashion accessory, adding simple sophistication to any look. I Iove how they are a special finishing touch or can also stand as a focal point. They come in so many different varieties – sizes, textures, colours and designs. I’m a big fan of a chic silk patterned scarf, its great how they transcend the seasons.
There are so many ways to wear a scarf, easily and instantly updating your look. I suggest experimenting with your scarves, you’ll be surprised how much more use you get out of them. A great to give an update to your bag is to casually tie one to its strap. This gives an instant street style look and one that models such as Kendall Jenner love to do. With a larger bag simply tie a silk scarf round the strap. While a smaller boxy bag looks great if you wind the scarf round the handle, a la Celine or Hermes.
When it comes to wearing scarves in your hair then anything goes. I love how it gives a chic European feel when paired with some big sunglasses. We saw so many hair scarves on the runways this fashion season so expect them to feature a lot in the coming months. Designers had models sporting scarves tied up elegantly to create headbands and turban style looks.
Look effortlessly chic by tying your scarf at the nape of your neck to create an Alice band while the tails of the scarf flow down. I love to simply wear my scarf wrapped round my ponytail. With a high ponytail the scarf flows down, while a wrap your scarf round and round a low slung ponytail to give a funky street style look.
Major fashion houses such as Hermes and Versace have long used the scarf print in their collections. I love how it represents such a classic and timeless elegance. For a really up to date look wrap a larger satin scarf around your waist to create a perfectly cute mini skirt. Keep it super simple with a plain white shirt and some killer heels. I love this an alternative to a mini dress, it would look awesome with some thigh high boots too.
There’s nothing cooler than the boho chic look and nothing says boho more than a turban style head scarf. It is so simple to achieve yet makes a big statement. Keep hair loose and down, with seductive smokey eye make up and team with big hoop earrings. I really think this look has holiday vibes. You can just imagine sipping a delicious cocktail watching the sun go down. Although with a gorgeous velvet jumpsuit this is a great alternative to a festive outfit.
I really think that a scarf can make an outfit. I totally love how such a simple accessory can make a massive difference. The catwalks this year were full of scarves used in a variety of ways. So I suggest investing in some beautiful scarves, you’ll be adding them to every outfit come next year! Whether its attached to your bag, wrapped into a skirt or worn in your hair, a scarf really is the essential fashion accessory that no girl can be without!
All scarves by Liberty London – Regent Street, London, W1B 5AH
Tis the season to be jolly! Jolly well dressed too! Being inundated with party invitations this time of year everyone is looking for that perfect dress. I absolutely love any excuse to wear a little sparkle and the holidays is the best time for that. Whether you’re looking to turn heads or prefer a more understated glam look then I’ve got your dress options covered. You can really push the boat out during the festive period so let your hair down, have a glass of champagne and party the night away!
Red Carpet Magic Moments
Dress by Halpern via NetaPorter, Earrings and Necklace by David Morris, Shoes by Giuseppe Zanotti
I think a strapless gown is the ultimate in femininity. Some people shy away from bearing too much skin this time of year but it really is a showstopper. The delicate décolletage of a woman is extremely sexy without being too much. When you really want to make an entrance this is the perfect dress. This is the most red carpet worthy of gowns. It ticks every box. Try an illuminating highlighter on your collarbones to add some subtle sparkle and contour.
Sugar & Spice & All Things Nice
Jumpsuit by Baar and Bass, Earrings by Olivia & Pearl, Necklace by Dinny Hall
Sunset orange isn’t an obvious choice for the holiday season however it really works! It’s an incredibly flattering shade, complementing every skin tone. It make me think of the beautiful clementines floating in my glass of spiced mulled wine. While everyone is opting for the reds and greens, make a statement and turn those heads in this delectable burnt orange.
Go Big or Go Home
Dress by Michael Lo Sordo via Net-a-Porter
I absolutely love wearing winter white! For red carpet glam there’s nothing that screams glamour than a floor length gown. I love the gentle nod to Marilyn Monroe, the ultimate sex symbol. I’d suggest keeping accessories simple with a beautiful clutch. I also think a red lip and smokey eye make up compliments this amazing gown.
Glitter Ball Baby
Dress by Rixo via Net-a-Porter, Shoes by Charlotte Olympia via Net-a-Porter
If you’re not wearing sequins to at least one party is it even the holidays? I adore wearing sparkles, they are so much fun. You simply have the best time when you’re wearing sequins! This year we also saw so many designers incorporating embellishments in their collections. Thankfully this means we’ll be seeing a lot more sequins into the new year. With a shorter dress this is the time to get your killer heels out and really show off your pins! Use a highlighter cream all the way up the centre on your legs to create a longer look.
Dress by Roberto Cavalli
For a show stopping alternative to sequins, try animal print this festive period. It was all over the catwalks this year so you’ll be bang on trend! I love the versatility of animal print, being able to dress it up or down while it still carries an understated glam. I’d suggest your hair and makeup simple as to not over fuss the print. Try some French braids to compliment the edgy and funky element to the dress.
Dress by Rixo via Liberty London
Velvet is such a luxurious fabric you can’t help but feel fabulous when wearing it! I see a lot of black velvet this time of year which is amazingly glam – especially a velvet blazer. However why not try a coloured velvet and add a little sparkle ensuring you stand out at the party! It makes a refreshing change to the darker colours favoured this time of year. Don’t be afraid of shorter skirts as well, patterned tights are having a fashion moment if you don’t want to show off too much skin. I also love a sheer denier with a black seam to give a sultry 50’s inspired look.
Let’s face it. Milan is always a good idea. This Italian city is recognised internationally as one of the worlds most important fashion capitals. I always look forward to Milan fashion and this year it showed off in true Italian style! At the heart of Italian style and design we saw designers championing diversity. They showcased their classic Italian styles on models of all shapes and sizes, from all walks of life. I thoroughly enjoyed my week spent in Milan, not only the fashion but the wonderful food too! Here are some of my most favourite trends that will be making an appearance next season.
1. Dreamy dresses
Dress by Eudon Choi, Belt Bag by Stee Atelie, Shoes by Sophia Webster
We’ve seen plenty of pastel shades this season and it doesn’t look like they are going anywhere. There were beautiful dreamy dresses in all kinds of pretty pastel shades on the catwalks at Giorgio Armani. I think it’s great to have an ultra feminine dress that can be worn with heels or given a funky edge if you teamed it with some trainers. Pastel shades are very complementary to all skin tones. I think you’ll be reaching for a dreamy dress in a peachy pink or Parma violet again and again.
2. Futuristic fashion with Super Silver
Leggings & shirt by Skiim, Shoes by Sophia Webster
Silver took a special place on the catwalks this season. It’s usual awash with golds but its was the turn for silver to take centre stage. I love the futuristic vibe that silver garments create. Whether it be silver coated jeans, dresses or coats this is definitely going to be the metallic hue of the season. Go forth and conquer in your silver attire!
3. Creams & Caramels
Jacket by Skiim, Jumpsuit by DKNY, Shoes by Karen Millen, Bag by Stee Atelier
The seventies vibe was still going strong in Milan and with this the colour palette of brown, beiges and creams. I love the warm of these shades, which will compliment any skin tone. We saw lots of caramel tones at the Tod’s show. With lots of butter soft nappy leather in creamy coffee shades at Bottega Veneta. Don’t be afraid to go head to toe in these delicious colours. If that seems too much for you simply add a statement jacket in a light shade to an all-black outfit and it’ll pop!
4. Look into my Crystal ball
Dress by Lelloue
The Italian designers showcased different types of sparkling fabrics this year. This models at Gucci wore silver mesh bodysuits. We also saw heavily embellished crystal gowns. The clear trend is that embellishment of any sort is going to be everywhere. I actually think this is an extremely flattering look as the weight of the fabrics let the dresses hang beautifully over your body.
5. The most useful of belts
Dress by Eudon Choi, Shoes by Sophia Webster, Belt Bag by Stee Atelier
The Max Mara collection delivered its usual elegant and timeless pieces. However the utility belt made an appearance modelled effortlessly by Bella Hadid. I love when designers give us something new and unexpected. The great thing is that they go with any outfit. Cinch in your waist with the guilt belt over a maxi dress or oversized tee and shorts. Not only useful for carrying your phone but bang on trend!
6. Feeling powerful in the Power Suit
Suit by Pinko, Top by Zadig&Voltaire, Belt bag by Stee Atelier
Putting on a suit gives your an instant confidence boost. You feel ready to take on the world. Bigger isn’t always better this season for the suit. There was a distinct change at the shows which saw a much more simple and slimmer silhouette. Models were seen in brocade suits with crisp white shirts. A lot of the suits were teamed with flat brogues or a plain white pump. I think investing a a well fitted suit could see you off to any occasion. Super smart and business ready with some killer heels, then Sunday lunch with the fam with Balenciaga trainers.
7. Go bold or go home in Neons
Jacket & skirt by Pinko, Top by Zadig&Voltaire, Sunnies by Longchamp, Bag by Stee Atelier
Another of the retro trends that is influencing the designers is neon. These fantastically bold colours promise to brighten up anyone’s day! We saw design houses like Bluemarine dabble with a little neon here and there. While House of Holland served up a huge dose of neon brights! With tracksuits, minidresses and accessories all in eye watering shades. At Versace we saw elegant evening wear in fluorescent yellows proving that this trend is a staple this season.
8. Modern day Cowgirl chic
Jacket by Skiim, Jumpsuit by DKNY, Boots by Karen Millen, Bag by Stee Atelier
We saw lots of cowgirl influences at London Fashion Week and it continued on the catwalks of Milan. I love this fun trend! Think lots of fringing – on jackets, bags and even trousers. Of course the staple part of the cowgirl look is the cowboy boot! Expect to see these boots making a big impression this season.
Monochromatic looks we’re very popular with designers this season. In fact head to toe outfits in any colour. Black has always been the most flattering and chicest of shades. I love the contrast of black and white. With white boots having a fashion moment right now they make the perfect addition to a black ensemble. Super easy to do bit with big results!
9. IT bags & platform heels
Jacket & Skirt by Pinko, Top by Zadig&Voltaire, Sunnies by Longchamp, Shoes by Sophia Webster
Accessories for next season are looking to the old classics for inspiration. Over the years there’s always those coveted ‘IT’ from various different designers. Expect to see revamped versions on these while still maintaining their original style. Boxy shaped bags were very popular on the catwalks in every colour.
There was a welcome return of the Miu Miu platform heel. So expect to see an influx of platform heels everywhere. I love this style as they give the height without comprising on the comfort!
London Fashion Week never ceases to amaze and delight its stylish audiences. I’m always so excited to see what the designers are going to showcase. London is such a vibrant and cosmopolitan city which shines through the collections as there’s always a little something different. There’s an effervescence and youthful aspect to London, making it like no where else on earth. This year designers took no prisoners and collections were unashamedly bold and bright. Here are my top 11 street style trends from an amazing week spent at the shows in the City.
1. Pounding the pavements with Super Sneakers
Shirt & Bag by Eudon Choi, Skirt by Shu Shu Tong, Trainers by Balenciaga via Net-a-Porter, Sunnies by Chloe
Sneakers, or trainers as we like to call them, have made massive fashion waves across the industry. Some people have shunned the massive sneaker trend saying its too ugly. While others have totally embraced the ‘ugly trainer’. I’ve always been a fan of the sport luxe look as it perfectly mixes a smarter look with the ease of sportswear. Expect to pair your sneakers with anything from maxi skirts, trouser suits to mini dresses.
2. Brilliant Boilersuits
Boilersuit by Eudon Choi
I absolutely love this as an alternative to a trouser suit or skirt and shirt combo. Boiler suits are not something you see a lot of, so its a great addition to your wardrobe. I love how it’s super flattering and can be dressed up or down. I adore the powerful look of this red boiler suit, however by rolling up the sleeves and adding some white pumps it’ll give you a totally different daytime casual look.
3. Naughty but nice See-Through trend
Dress by Julien Macdonald
It’s always fun to show a little skin and if you’ve been working out in the gym then why not show off your results! The transparency trend saw designers incorporate sheer coats, shirts and dresses. However try layering a sheer blouse over a detailed bralette or cami top if you’re not wanting to expose too much. If you’re not interested in sheer clothing, then Perspex bags were spotted at Brandon Maxwell.
4. Yee-Haw with Cowboy Boots
Jeans by Rokh via Liberty, Coat by Shu Shu Tong, Boots by Karen Millen, Shirt & Bag by Eudon Choi
When it comes to choosing your boots for next season look no further than the Wild West! I love a pair of cowboy boots so I’m super pleased that it’s the next biggest footwear trend. Its great how these boots can add a playful twist on any outfit. We saw simple styles in the new Fendi collection. While the models at Dolce & Gabbana strutted down the catwalk in sequin versions. For extra fashion points, tap into two trends at once with some white cowboy boots!
5. Sparkling day and night with Super Sequins
Dress by Rixo via Liberty, Sunnies by Chloe, Shoes by Sophia Webster, Bag by Eudon Choi,
A little bit of embellishment always makes an outfit seems more special than others. I loved seeing embellishments and sequins making its way into the daytime collection at this years fashion week. Many designers showcased heavily sequinned garments for both day and night, so don’t be afraid to wear those sparkles! If full on sequin seems too much for you then just add little details of embellishments to nail this trend.
6. Get ahead with a stylish scarf
Robe by Liberty, Sunnies by Chloe, Shoes by Sophia Webster
One of the biggest accessory trend this season is the head scarf and I love it! It can really transform any outfit. What’s great about a head scarf is that there’s no one way to wear them. We saw Balenciaga models sporting chic head scarves on the runway and its always been a staple fashion accessory of the street styler. The string bag is a carefree and fun fashion trend. It makes me think of browsing round the artisan markets in the south of France.
7. In the mix with Mix and match prints
Dress by French Connection, Shoes by Julia Mays, Sunnies by Marni, Bag by Eudon Choi
The mix and match print trend can seem alarming at first but by following some simple rules its can look super stylish. I think its best when one of the prints dominates and then the second can compliment it. It’s also important to keep the fabrics in the same colour family. I love having fun with fashion and this is a great way to experiment and enjoy trying something different.
8. Pretty as a picture in Cute Florals
Dress by Vivienne Westwood via Liberty, Boots by Julia Mays, Sunnies by Marni, Bag by Manu Atelier
At the Rodarte the models were adorned with pretty flowers making for a very feminine show. Expect to see lots of cute floral mini dresses for next season. There’s nothing nicer than when the warmer days start to come back and you can get those super sweet florals out of the wardrobe. However if you can wait that long then team your mini dress with tights and boots!
9. Chic Tailoring with Double Denim
Coat by Shu Shu Tong, Bag by The Cambridge Satchel Company, Shoes by Karen Millen
Denim on denim is a look that constantly divides option in the fashion world. However love it or hate it, there was plenty of double denim gracing the catwalks this fashion week. I think if you style it right, this is actually a rather chic look. Team your denim with a crisp white shirt and you cant go far wrong. That’s because its important to create a contrast to break up the head to toe denim. For next season lighter denim will be everywhere, which is a great option for sunnier days.
Tailored pieces are always the most flattering and make you feel so well put together. From the shows we saw designers moving towards a more structured and sharper silhouette. Burberry and Givenchy took on the androgynous styling with trouser suits and tailored coats. I love how a simple tailored coat gives you a polished and elegant look. It’s a simple trend but with powerful confidence boosting effects!
10. The Bigger the better with Exaggerated sleeves
Sunnies by Illesteva via Net-a-Porter, Dress by ShuShu Tong, Bag by Manu Atelier
One of my favourite trends for spring is the different types of exaggerated sleeves. There’s bell shaped, ultra long and oversized – and I love them all! We saw the grand at Celine, Lanvin and Proenza Schouler to name a few. I think they can really make a statement and are a lot fun to wear. The biggest the sleeve, the more fun you’ll have wearing this trend.
11. Sports Luxe with a feminine touch
Top and Skirt by Xu Zhi, Shoes by Balenciaga via Net-a-Porter, Bag by Manu Atelier, Sunnies by Chloe
We don’t always have the time or the inclination to be glammed up to the nines. So I’m always grateful when there’s a dressed down fashion trend such a pretty sports luxe. So expect to be wearing your pretty ditsy floral skirt with your comfiest trainers. This look is perfect for running about town, literally!
I’m always on the look out for a beauty product that can take my skin from healthy to utterly fabulous. However we all take the time to look after our skin yet we don’t always have the time in our busy lives to visit the salon. So when I find a beauty treatment I can use at home but that’s salon professional I get really excited. I’ve always enjoyed applying a face mask. In fact Korean women will use a face and eye mask every single day. They are a great way to quickly boost your skins hydration levels. Instead of just a weekly spa treat I incorporate a face mask into my daily skincare routine. I’ve seen some amazing results. Not only is my skin looking fresher and more youthful, I also find that my make up goes on better and lasts longer.
The newest, and quite frankly the most fun, trend in the beauty world at the moment is the modeling ‘rubber’ mask. I love the Shangree Gold Premium Modeling Mask for the ultimate indulgent at home beauty treat. I mix the gel with the Active Collagen Powder, apply it liberally to my face, sit back and let it do all the work. It peels off incredibly smoothly and leaves an instantly more refined complexion. I love how the rubber effect of the mask seals moisture deep within the skins surface. After each mask I feel my skin is revitalised and it continues to feel hydrated days later. Infused with gold and caviar, this face mask is delightfully extravagant with genuine results.
Within the modeling mask range there’s a silver, green and black version. The Shangpree Silver Premium Modeling Mask is infused with silk amino acids and helps to replenish collagen levels giving my skin its strength and elasticity. It help skin become brighter and more radiant, with an intense moisturisation. The Shangpree Green Modeling Premium Mask helps to soothe irritated or sensitive skins thanks to its spirulina, chlorella and green tea ingredients. I love how it leaves my skin cool, calm and refreshed. Finally the Shangpree Black Premium Modeling Mask contains charcoal to help detox my skin and pull out any impurities. I love to use this after wearing a lot of make up as I feel my skin needs some deep cleansing. The witch hazel really leaves my skin cleaner and smoother.
I think its really important to take extra care of the delicate skin around you eyes. This is where fine lines and wrinkles appear first as the skin is thinner and lacks hydration. I love using an eye mask to give my eyes a little treat. I love the Shangpree Gold Black Pearl Eye Mask. They are so quick and easy to use. I can pop them on and they will be giving my eyes a treat while I prepare for an important event. I don’t tend to wear make up daily but for an evening out I can really see a difference when I’ve prepped my skin with a mask. The masks are enriched with countless minerals and proteins to give a concentrated treatment direct to the eye area. The mask helps to rejuvenate the skins ability to fight those fine lines and wrinkles. I love how it tackles and diminishes dark circles. There is also a Ginseng Berry version which is packed full of powerful anti-oxidants from berries.
Shangpree have also taken their Spa treatment expertise and applies it to a selection of sheet masks. These masks use the incredible strength of oceanic energy to deliver some amazing results. The Shangpree Marine Jewel Masks come in Illuminating, Nourishing and Hydrating versions. All enriched with DNA of salmon, pearls, oysters and seaweed to help rejuvenate and restore a youthful glow. I simply apply the sheet to my face and press into my skin to ensure the best results. I leave on for 10 or 20 minutes, where ever possible. After removing the mask I massage the remaining serum in and then I can apply my daily skincare and make up routine. It so easy. My skin feels smoother and blemish free. I really feel like they have helped to restore my skins hydration too.

Are you ready for an influx of Korean skincare products? People are becoming more aware of how innovative Korean beauty products are, something beauty insiders have known for a long time. They promise and deliver real results. Thankfully they are now more readily available in the UK so we can all enjoy them. When South Korea introduced the BB cream to the world, everyone sat up and took notice. I have long been an advocate for Korean products, beauty and skincare. I love that there’s always new products to try and ultimately fall in love with!
I often get asked what’s the secret to my healthy skin. Well it really is quite simple, it takes some fantastic Korean products and a little dedication to your skin. Every morning and evening I have a special 8 to 10 step routine. This may sound excessive but it really will help you to achieve skin that looks healthy and beautiful. You might be already be employing some of the steps in the routine, however adding in the extra ones will transform your skin. This 8 to 10 step technique is used by all Korean women and they take pride in knowing that they have some of the best skin in the world. I believe taking a little extra time to complete these steps will be the difference from your normal skin to a more flawless complexion.
However we don’t also have as much time as we would like to dedicate to our skin. Sometimes its a rush in the morning and might seem impossible to complete a 10 step skincare routine. However just selecting the most essential steps will take your normal skincare routine but it will deliver big results. First thing in the morning, I wash my face with water. This helps remove any impurities that are left on my skin from overnight. Next its important to balance out my skin’s pH levels to avoid the skin becoming dry or dehydrated. I do this by applying a toner with a cotton pad all over the face. This will also ensure that the products in the next steps are fully absorbed and can give the results I’m looking for.
Smooth a lightweight Ampoule on next to give my skin an extra boost. I only need to use this for when I feel that my skin needs a little extra help. I use Marine Jewel Capsule by Shangpree. This beautifully light jelly like lotion is enriched with the DNA of salmon, pearls, oysters and seaweed. This delivers powerful anti-ageing oils to replenish nutrients to create a youthful complexion. I feel as if I’m really treating my skin to a little TLC with this amazing capsule.
I follow this capsule by pressing a serum in to the skin. This acts as a natural base or foundation for a healthy looking complexion. I use S-energy Long Lasting Concentrated Serum by Shangpree. This concentrated formula is packed full of active ingredients, making it really beneficial for my skin. It will targets all my major skincare concerns, such as wrinkles, pigmentation and dryness. This is a special serum unlike any other. It has a super lightweight formula that contains super anti-oxidants that help to combat environmental damage. It leaves my skin feeling really smooth and super well hydrated.
It always good practice to apply a light eye cream, following the socket bone round and up under the brow. Always using my ring finger to apply the correct pressure on this delicate area. The skin here is the thinnest of all the face meaning there’s much less natural oils to keep it hydrated. It’s really important to look after and protect your eye area to keep those wrinkles at bay.
Of course I always have to apply a moisturiser. I like to use a light layer of a really good moisturiser so that it doesn’t feel heavy on my face. I love the S-energy Resilience Cream by Shangpree. This incredible cream helps to revitalise my skin, promoting cell turnover and even out skin tone. It contains a super ingredient called Propolis which is incredibly powerful in soothing the skin. The soy and oxygen elements help stimulate collagen production in the skin too. It delivers nourished and hydrated skin, looking bright and healthy.
Recently I’ve been using a facial mask daily which has been a real game changer. If I can’t get to the salon I’ve found a few face masks that I can use at home but that deliver amazing results. I adore the Marine Jewel Masks by Shangpree. There are Illuminating, Nourishing and Hydrating versions, which all are anti-aging and help restore a youthful glow. However for a real treat, I absolutely love the Gold Premium Modeling Mask by Shangpree. This indulgent mask brings the luxury of a spa treatment to enjoy in your own home. I am so enamoured with these special facial masks that I’m going to do a separate blog on them. So watch this space!
