Pilates has long been enjoyed by royals and celebrities alike. The Victoria Secret models credit the exercise class in helping them achieve their long lean limbs. Although it’s got great social popularity now, it was actually invented by German born Joseph Pilates in the 1920s. It was originally to aid with physical rehabilitation. Some of the first people to benefit were soldiers returning from the war and some professional dancers, all hoping to strengthen their bodies and relieve muscular aches and pains. Joseph Pilates described his techniques as ‘Contrology’ and these days instructors use six key principles as a foundation to this exercise. These principles are centring, concentration, control, precision, breath and flow. When applied these are what makes Pilates so unique and adored by millions all over the world.

I have seen first hand the immense benefits achieved using these principles. Pilates has been a real game changer for me. I think even adding just one class of Pilates a week it will give you real results. I love that it goes beyond just health and fitness benefits. The class helps me to clear my mind, boost my energy and feel an inner serenity.

In a world full of distractions, stresses and chaos I find each class offers the opportunity for me to experience a little peace and tranquility. I always start each session with some deep full breaths. This encourages the cells to renew and gets my heart pumping fresh blood into the muscle tissues. I can also engage my inner core and mind together.

I love how Pilates is a whole body workout as it focuses on core strength. Ensuring that you have a strong core is so important. This is so much more than a flat stomach or having abs. Weak core muscles can leave you susceptible to lower back pain and poor posture. I think of my core as a muscular corset that helps me maintain a good posture.

Each session works the core muscles from top to bottom and front to back. This is why supermodels swear by Pilates to ensure they are shoot or catwalk ready. By training every muscle it helps keep everything where it should be! I’ve found that Pilates has changed the way I feel about my body, really helping to sculpt it from head to toe

It’s fair to say I have a busy lifestyle! With four children, an energetic boxer dog, and a full time job as an influencer, things can get very hectic! People assume that being a blogger is all very glamourous and just about  posting a photo on social media here and there. When actually there’s so much thought, dedication and hard work that goes into every post. Creating contents, meeting with different brands and attending events. There are so many times I wish there could be 48 hours in a day or be able to duplicate myself to get everything done! So it’s not surprising that a lot of people ask me how I find the time to exercise? Trust me, when I am burning the candle at both ends a workout is the last thing I want to do. However I’ve found that if I push myself to go to the gym, then I never regret it! I leave feeling totally renewed, with more energy, having sweated my stresses away!

I’ve never thought that exercise was just being about in shape. It means so much more than that. I find it therapeutic in a way, especially after long day with kids or stresses at work. It helps clear my head, making me feel mentally stronger. I truly believe that you have to make time for yourself. Especially being a mother, we always put ourselves last. It’s important to take a little ‘me time’. The gym has become my special place where I can de-stress and get re-motivated.  Although a lot of times, I still feel guilty going to the gym instead of spending more time with the kids and my husband.

For me, exercise is one of the greatest ways to get away from all of it. Giving you that vital boost for your self confidence by making you feel great about yourself. My workout routine is a commitment. I have totally committed myself to making sure I get enough sessions in a week. I have seen and felt the benefits. It’s undeniably worth it! I believe when you’ve made that commitment to yourself, you more likely to stick to it! My amazing personal trainer experience has transformed how I workout. I actually look forward to my sessions with her, knowing I’ll get the most out of my time spent there. I can actually say I am loving going to the gym! I feel like Equinox is fast becoming my second home. I arrive there stressed and overworked yet leave with my batteries recharged, fully inspired and ready to take on another exciting day!

You are always promised something truly unique when Cartier release a new high jewellery collection. This Coloratura collection does not disappoint. It completely affirms Cartiers vision of style, reinventing some traditional pieces for the modern day wearer. I was enamoured with the collection from the moment I saw it. Not only the vibrant colours of the stones, but the colour ways are so original its like nothing I’ve ever seen before. Coloratura is a word mostly associated with Opera singing. Describing how an operatic singer would elaborately perform a vocal melody. The Italian word, when used in English, literally meaning ‘colouring’, perfectly describes the way a singer would add trills, runs and wide leaps within their melody. It such a dynamic word, that I can almost imagine the sound of it in my head. A sound of a soprano reaching such wonderfully high notes is incredible, however when a singer can add a little Coloratura to a repertoire it add that little something special, even magical, to the piece. I think then so aptly Cartier have used it to name this collection. It’s that little something extra, a little unexpected, that astounds you.

Red

Holika Ring by Cartier – White gold, one 15.05 carat cushion-shaped rubellite, blue tourmaline beads, chrysoberyl beads, square-shaped diamonds, brilliant-cut diamonds.

I’ve always adored the colour Red. It’s such a intense colour and has long been used by Emperors and Warriors clothing as it exudes such power when worn. It’s also associated with passion, love and desire. When presented with a red Cartier box, you subconsciously know that you had been given something of great value and significance. Red has been used by Cartier throughout its great history and thanks to their strong connection to Indian princes, they have designed and created some of the most beautiful pieces of jewellery with the precious stone, Ruby.

Kanaga Necklace by Cartier – White gold, two orangey pink spinels totalling 7.58 carats, two triangular-shaped step-cut diamonds totalling 8.39 carats, spinel beads, modified shield-shaped, kite-shaped, baguette-cut and brilliant-cut diamonds.

The Kanaga Necklace is the most stunning cascade of spinels with intermittent flashes of white diamonds. I can feel the sublte inspiration of an African princess, as I imagine myself wearing it overlooking the great Serengeti as the sun sets. It really evokes a lot of energy and passion.

Green and Blue

Panthére Impérieuse Necklace by Cartier – Platinum, one 41.06 carat cabochon-cut sapphire from Ceylon, one 5.14 carat emerald drop from Zambia, one 0.92carat modified shield-shaped step-cut diamond, emerald drops, sapphire beads, sapphires, emerald eyes, onyx, brilliant-cut diamonds.

I love the calm and serenity of the combination that green and blue create. I think together they symbolise harmony, the earth and the sky. A happy and content pairing. The freshness of lusciously green grass and the awesomeness of a bright blue summer sky. One cannot simply exist without the other. I find this terribly romantic. The wonderful different shades of blue the great Ocean can create, from the deepest blue to crystal clear azure. I do find blue to be very balancing and good for the soul.

Panthére Impérieuse Earrings by Cartier – Platinum, two sapphire drops from Burma totalling 4,70 carats, emerald and sapphire beads, sapphires, brilliant-cut diamonds.

The Panthére Impérieuse Necklace and earrings are simply breathtaking. The earrings consist of two sapphire drops from Burma. Designed with brilliant cut diamonds, emerald and sapphire beads these truly are remarkable. The Panthére Impérieuse Necklace showcases one cabochon-cut sapphire. I think this is the most dazzling of pairings, worn together would ensure all eyes were on you.

Green and Black

Matsuri Ring by Cartier – Platinum, one 26.20 carat cushion-shaped tourmaline, onyx, brilliant-cut diamonds.

The pairing of green and black I think makes an elegant, yet moody duo. For many years these colours were not used together as black was deemed to dark to be paired with the youthfulness and freshness of green. However in later years painters saw the beauty in the purity of blackness combined with the allure of green. I think these colours are effortlessly chic and really luxurious when paired together. They make me think of the deepest black velvet and the most vibrant green, truly beautiful.

Amravati Necklace by Cartier – Platinum, one 50.44 carat carved emerald from Zambia, two carved emerald drops from Zambia totalling 71.11 carats, one 10.16 carat carved ruby from Mozambique, carved rubies, sapphires and emeralds, sapphire and emerald beads, onyx, triangular-shaped diamonds, square-shaped diamonds, brilliant-cut diamonds. The Necklace can be worn in four different ways.

The Amravati Necklace is an exquisite masterpiece. One intricately carved emerald from Zambia take centre stage of this Necklace. Encased by diamonds and onyx makes the emerald really stand out. This piece really showcases the talent of the Cartier team, a truly unique design that you would treasure for a lifetime.

Green and Red

Orienphonie Wristwatch by Cartier – White gold, nineteen orangey red coral beads totalling 130.46 carats, onyx, brilliant-cut diamonds, quartz movement.

I love how the calming nature of green can soothe a fiery red. This is the colour-way of the yin and yang, seemingly opposites may actually be complimentary. Individually both strong colours, yet somehow they have a mutual adoration for each other. I think green and red are a rich, powerful and energetic duo.

Mavra Ring by Cartier – Platinum, one 35.00 carat orangey red coral bead, cabochon-cut emeralds, onyx, brilliant-cut diamonds.

The Mavra Ring is spectacular. I am in love with the Art Deco-inspired setting holding a dazzling orangey red coral bead. The emeralds, onyx and diamonds are sensational next to the ravishingly red coral. This is the ultimate in cocktail rings. I can just imagine sipping on a Martini partying the night away at an infamous Gatsby party in 1920’s New York.

I feel it instantly transforms my lashes, giving them the perfect curl and making them appear bolder. I don’t even need to take my lash curler with me! Although one of the best things I like about this mascara is that its buildable, so you add extra layers in the evening without it clumping together.

It’s a perfect pick me up on those sleepy mornings to help awaken the senses with the aroma of freshly squeezed lemons.

I love wearing lipstick, adding a beautiful pink lip can transform your whole outlook on the day! I’m in one with this shade from the new Miss Sicily range from D&G Beauty. All the colours in this range have been inspired by the femininity of Sicilian women, with traditional Sicilian names. Which of course makes them the perfect holiday lipstick. I love how hydrating they are, even after wearing all day in the sun. I think they are the perfect handbag lipstick that will see you from day to night. I like to build up the colour by applying extra layers in the evening, giving a beautifully seductive dewy finish.

Haute Couture Week in Paris always promises to be an extra special extravaganza of the ultimate in style, design and flare. I can honestly say it never disappoints. I am always blown away by the incredible talent and imagination of the designers that showcase during Haute Couture Week. It’s clearly evident that the designers enjoy creating such beautiful masterpieces. The dedication from their teams working tirelessly to ensure every embellishment looks perfect. There’s such pride in their work that it shines through, every show feels like a celebration.

Dress by Gyunel Couture, Sunglasses by Illesteva via Net a Porter, Shoes by Jimmy Choo, Bag by Aspinal

Most couture gowns are full length so its really refreshing to wear this shorter number by Gyunel Couture. This London based design house has a reputation for exquisite craftsmanship and the absolute finest in luxury bespoke Couture. I adore the futuristic twist on this structured dress. The playful exaggerated shoulder pads gives a nod to that 80s reference however, that is so on trend at the moment.

Dress by Xuan Paris

It was such a magical night when I wore this dreamy gown by Xuan Paris. The delicate ruffles cascade down the entire dress, commanding attention in a subtle and feminine way. This design house is based in Paris and founded by Dutch-Vietnamese designer Xuan-Thu Nguyen. I love how she tells a story with every piece she creates. The silk tulle moved so fluidly with me when i walked. I feel like an enchanted princess in a beautiful dream.

Dress by Gyunel Couture, Bag by Manolo Blahnik

There’s something to be said about a simple floor length gown. Sometimes less is more. The gold waistband and shoulder embellishment add a subtle but decadent glamour. However its the incredible cut of the gown that speaks volumes. I love how something so simple can have such a big impact. The golden coffee tone is unusual and yet so flattering for every skin tone.

This stunning strapless gown has a wonderful whimsical quality to it. I love the freshness of the sage green shade, with the delicate embroidery adding beautiful detail. The shape and style of the dress create an elegant and feminine silhouette. I think its so effortlessly alluring to show off your décolletage, very provocative in an understated way

Its such a treat having a special place just for myself, filled with lotions, potions and amazing fragrances. I love to escape here, discovering and indulging in the latest beauty must-haves. Having a spritz of my favourite perfume before an evening out or nourishing my skin with sumptuous over night creams. My girls are always so intrigued with all the beautiful perfume bottles, I remember being exactly the same with my mothers collection. They love to sit and watch me in the mirror while I experiment with new products.

I’ve recently been obsessed with hair mists, they seem to having somewhat of a moment in the beauty world right now. Although they have been around for a while, but I feel they have remained a beauty insiders little secret. More and more beauty houses are now bringing these deliciously fragranced hair mists to market. I’ve been told that spraying a perfume or an eau de toilette directly on your hair can be quite drying and damaging. So I love that they’ve created hair mists to add moisture and shine, leaving you with beautifully fragranced locks. My absolute favourite is the Carnal Flower by Frederic Malle. I love this truly sumptuous fragrance, it makes my hair smell amazing. The white musk base note adds an subtle sexiness making it perfect for my date night.

Nothing can lift my mood like one of my favourite fragrances. I think it may be the quintessential summer scent for me. It’s called Millesime Imperial by Creed. I love how it recreates a fruity watermelon freshness making it so easy for me to wear day or night. Its the salty scent that transports me straight back to Capri, sipping an Aperol Spritz on the back of a yacht. The late afternoon golden sun gentling kissing the sea, having spent the day surrounded by friends and family. It’s a wonderful memory that can live forever for me associated with this perfume. A floaty silk kaftan blowing in the calm salty breeze, beach hair don’t care and that subtle warm sensation on my sun kissed skin. This scent takes all the pressures and strains of a busy city life away in one spritz. I feel fun, flirty and ready to party with every single drop of this delicious perfume.

When I have a demanding day ahead, I know that this fragrance will give me that instant confidence boost. It’s a personal positive affirmation in a bottle. Musc Ravageur has been created by Maurice Roucel, one of the perfumers who has collaborated with Frederic Malle. The ultimate in sophistication, I adore wearing this grown-up scent. The powerful mix of ingredients create a truly unforgettable fragrance. On my skin the bergamot and cinnamon explode first, followed by delicious vanilla and warming amber notes. In the warmer summer months, it wears so beautifully, developing through the day to evening. I really feel like this particular fragrance has immense power. Its bold and takes no prisoners. It makes me feel like I can conquer the world, unashamedly feminine in a mans world. If I have an important business meeting I would always go for this scent above everything else. It gives me that extra boost of confidence in myself, feeling empowered. I believe every woman should have that special scent.

The South of France has always been one of my favourite European holiday destinations. Somewhere so close to home but feels like a million miles away. I can get lost wandering the old fashioned rues, exploring the small villages and towns. I love that I can discover somewhere new every time I visit. It’s got that unique quality of having an amazing provenance, yet in many ways feels ahead of the times. It’s iconic history is second to none, when they say ‘if these walls could talk’, its the walls here on the French Riviera that you wish could.

Hat by Biondi London, Dress by Zimmerman via Netaporter, Bag by Staud

There’s simply so much to see and do on this Mediterranean costal jewel of France. It would be too hard for me to pinpoint one must-go location or one must-do event. However I recently spent some inspiring time in Eze, a picturesque mountaintop village steeped in history. It’s conveniently situated between Nice and Monaco. So whether you are arriving by jet or by yacht, you don’t have to travel far to reach this little piece of heaven. Both journeys ensure a spectacular scenic ride with unparalleled jaw dropping views of the sea as you ascend the mountain.

Dress by Lisa Marie Fernandez via Net a Porter, Bag by Helmer, Sunglasses chain by Frame Chain, Earrings by Danny Hall

Eze has that Games of Thrones quality to it. You feel as if you are starring in your own little episode as you float around the uneven streets in your silk Melissa Odabash kaftan. There’s plenty of exploring here for those who enjoy wandering through the narrow passageways and under low archways. You could easily spend the morning getting happily lost in it all. Thankfully you are never too far away from a charming gift shop or a delightful little cafe offering delicious homemade french pastries.

Hat by Biondi London, Bag by Betsy & Floss, Dress by Martina London

I find it incredibly soothing being by the sea. It’s wonderfully clear here, and of that typical shade of azur that can tempt you in. Most are pebble beaches, although they are smooth and small, so easy underfoot. The restaurants and beach bars serve the freshest of seafood. Also the well renowned party reputation of the beach clubs doesn’t disappoint. There’s something for everyone at this most glamorous southeastern beach resorts.

Dress by Martina London, Necklace by Ortaea

The views over the Mediterranean Sea are breathtaking. Possibly some of the most Instagram worth vistas I’ve ever seen. As the golden sun kisses the sea I could sit for hours, sipping a cold glass of Rose, admiring the passing yachts and cruise ships. Such peace and tranquility, I get totally absorbed in to the French way of life. After all The Riviera is all about the good life.
