DASH puzzle hunt officials announced the sites that will host this year’s iteration of the international puzzle hunt, with a record setting 18 participating cities ready to receive puzzlers on Sept. 22.

Growth for the puzzle hunt continues, pushing past its previous mark of 16 cities while also breaking its international record with two sites in the Netherlands, one in Austria, and another located in Cyprus. As in past years, host cities have seen some turn with new popping up and others quietly bowing out. Debuting to the DASH scene is Pittsburgh, while stalwarts like Austin, Texas, Chicago, and Washington D.C. continue annual puzzle hunt tradition.

DASH 10 Participating Cities
  • Amsterdam, Netherlands
  • Atlanta, Ga.
  • Austin, Texas
  • Chicago
  • Davis, Calif.
  • Enschede, Netherlands
  • Eureka, Calif.
  • Los Angeles
  • Minneapolis, Minn.
  • New York
  • Nicosia, Cyprus
  • Pittsburgh
  • Portland, Ore.
  • Provo, Utah
  • San Diego, Calif.
  • St. Louis
  • Vienna, Austria
  • Washington D.C.

The Old American West will be the setting for DASH 10, with teams assuming the role of deputies in the small town of Tenderfoot Falls. Business has called the sheriff away and deputies must confront sleepy town’s history, bring robbers to justice, and restore order. Registration opens in May, but organizers haven’t stated a final date.

Officials are still accepting applications for groups that would like to manage DASH 10 in an additional city. Previous DASH puzzle hunts have seen some sites added within weeks of the event date, if interested contact organizers.

DASH 9 brought together 480 puzzle hunt teams that were separated into two divisions expert and standard. Burninators from Fremont, Calif. Took first place in the expert division and team Saddest Turtle won the standard division.

Q Entertainment has announced that its Lumines renaissance will be delayed, as the developer pushes back the release date of Lumines Remastered to June 26.

Tetsuya Mizuguchi lead game studio had announced in March its intentions to release Lumines Remastered this May for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows. While the design team hasn’t provided any official statement for the delay, as games reach the later stages of development timelines tend to get extended because of bugs that crop up.

Lumines Remastered promises to bring a higher-definition version of the fast-paced classic puzzle game to fans and also update it with several new modes. Including the original Challenge, Time Attack, Mission, and Puzzle modes, the modern versions adds Versus mode, offering competitive puzzle solving against another player or a computer opponent.

The Lumines series began its journey back from obscurity in Sept. 2016, when it launched one Lumines: Puzzle & Music with a promise of the quietly abandoned additional title Lumines VS.

Mizuguchi debuted the Lumines franchise with its namesake title in 2004 on Sony’s handheld PSP.
