Well its our final August Monthly exercise and I have to say, I’m kind of sad to see this month end. To finish off, we decided again to ask our followers what they wanted to see and once again jumping won out (I’m starting to see a trend here). So the exercise we went with is a fun one that can, as usual, be ridden just on the flat.

Once you are happy with your approach to the flat poles, to challenge your horse more, start raising each pole up into raised poles, I started gradually with every second pole working toward the full row of poles all raised, (I kept them in sequence of right raised left raised the full way through the grid.

We've been doing quite a good bit of jumping recently, with both of us moving up in the heights, so it was great to do an exercise that made us focus on the more technical side of jumping for a change. This was a great exercise to get us working on tightening up those turns after a fence.

There were a lot of ups & downs during our preparations for our One Day Event, the week prior consisted of a lot if headless humans running around the yard, setting out Dressage arenas, setting up jumps, to lessons with Jer to prepare!
