MILLIONS Online is the Online version of the MILLIONS poker series presented by partypoker LIVE, and when they announced that the guarantee of the event was going up from $5M (2017) to $20M (2018), people all around the poker world were skeptical, to say the least.

Now, with late registration closed in Day 1E, it is clear that partypoker has managed to beat the guarantee by a healthy margin. The final prize pool in the event is more than $21.5M, which sets the new record for largest poker tournament by prize pool in history!

Day 2 in the event gets underway at 2:00pm. Through the first 4 starting flights there were 568 players qualified, and Day 1E is set to add another 110+ players to the mix. Day 2 will play through 18 levels with blinds starting at 80K/160K and an ante of 20K. The chip average to start the day will be about 6.3M chips, meaning that players with an average stack will begin with approximately 40bb and the chip leader, Phil Gruissem, will restart the tournament playing a stack of more than 167bb!

Update: Day 1E has concluded with 119 players through to Day 2, which will begin with 687 total runners. The top 500 players will be in the money with a min-cash of $10,917.50, and the winner is slated to get $2,729,376,24 – each of the top 4 players in the event will have a 7-digit payday!

Good luck to everyone still in this amazing event!

The World Cup of Cards, the first poker festival to be held in 2019, is great for players who wish to chase an official title at a reasonable price. On the updated schedule, there is a total of 26 events and 15 satellites with buy-ins ranging from $110 to $1,650, and a wide variety of formats to please all players. Let’s take a look at our 3 most handsome guarantees: the World Cup of Cards “Big 3.”

Event 8 – $200 + $20 Grand Prix Canada

The Grand Prix Canada returns to Playground for the 4th time. This tournament presents an unbelievable buy-in/guarantee ratio. For $220, you have access to a half-a-million-dollar guarantee! Five online Day 1s and 12 live Day 1s all feed to a single Day 2 (January 27). The event concludes on Day 3 (January 28).

Event 17 – $1,500 + $150 WPTDeepStacks

The WPTDeepStacks, winner of the 4th Annual American Poker Awards Mid-Major Tournament Circuit of the Year, had its Playground debut just a month ago at the WPT Montreal. It will be back on our felts starting February 1 as the WCC 2019 Main Event, featuring three Day 1s. Its $750,000 guarantee is the largest of the festival, and the eventual Champion will go home with the heftiest first prize and the most bragging rights. Check the schedule for dates.

Event 21 – $1,000 + $100 Card Player Poker Tour

The CPPT is a series of live tournaments overseen by Card Player Media, publishers of the well-known and respected Card Player magazine. It has visited Playground on both previous editions of the World Cup of Cards. The $250,000 guarantee is sure to round up a nice crowd, which will be divided into two Day 1s. The event concludes on Day 2 (February 6).

If you want to play the Main Event for a fraction of the price, try our $165 + $15 WCC WPTDeepStacks Satellites. They run every Thursday, each with 3 seats guaranteed.

While the Grand Prix Canada and the WPTDeepStacks are Unlimited Re-entry events, the Card Player Poker Tour is a Single Re-entry per flight event. In addition to these same-day re-entries, you can play as many Day 1s as you want, online and live, whether you have previously qualified or not. Your best qualified stack will move forward.

The World Cup of Cards. January 20 to February 6. See you there!

Sunday on partypoker saw another huge milestone passed as 1,112 entries joined Day C in MILLIONS Online, taking the overall number of entries past the 3K mark to 3,170 so far in this huge $20M Guaranteed tournament. There’s still a way to go before the guarantee is reached, but the tournament is definitely on track to not only match but to surpass the $20,000,000 – which will make this the largest tournament in poker history by a wide margin!

The chip leader at the end of Day 1C was Carlos “carlitos350” Camargo, who managed to accumulate 19,285,021 chips through the end of the 20 levels played on Day 1. This puts him in 6th place overall, as no one has been able to catch up to the leaders from Day 1A last week. There’s another player among the leaders on Day 1C who should be on everyone’s radar moving forward: Fedor Holz has qualified for Day 2 with almost 12M in chips!
There were a total of 162 Day 2 qualifiers on Day 1C, which brings the total number of players set to take a spot in Day 2 up to 464 players. The Day 2 restart will occur at 2:00pm on December 4 – just under a day from now. Between now and then, there will be two additional Day 1 starting flights. Day 1D is on now, and Day 1E is a Turbo flight that will begin at 7:00am on December 4 – just hours before Day 2 gets underway.

Day 1C was a good day for Quebec- and Canada-based players, as some of our best-known players managed to make Day 2 yesterday. This includes Francois Goulet, 2017 MILLION North America Main Event winner Jean-Pascal Savard, Mark Radoja, Marc-André Ladouceur, and Carl Martel.

Good luck to those players on Day 2, as well as to everyone who plans on jumping in for Day 1D and/or Day 1E!

As you probably already know our 8-Year Anniversary is coming up very soon and we want to give 10 lucky winners a reason to celebrate!

Here’s what you need to do: create a short video – nothing complicated, there’s no need to hire a film crew, just use your cell phone – and tell us what you’re celebrating or what you’re grateful for. You can, for example, wish your friends or family happy holidays. Be creative (but keep it positive and sincere), it’s entirely up to YOU. This holiday season, try to put a smile on someone’s face, or better yet, make them laugh. It’s a celebration after all. Spread joy!

Once you’ve made your video, upload it here. Apply the frame, fill out the entry form, then share it with your friends on Social Media and include the hashtag #ShareyourCelebration. That’s it. Easy peasy!

The contest starts now and ends at 12:00pm EST on Wednesday, December 12, 2018. At that point we will pick the 10 lucky winners and announce them later that same day at 3:00pm.

Oh yeah, we almost forgot to mention the prizes. Not that it matters, you should want to enter this contest simply for all the happiness your video will bring others, but here it is anyway: we are giving away 10 MILLIONS North America Main Event STEP 1 Seats.

Now imagine the celebration video you could make this May if your winning ticket ends up leading you to the MILLIONS North America Main Event Final Table! Or better yet, what if you win it all? Now go make your video!

The second of 5 starting flights in the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Online event was held last night on partypoker.com and with 484 entries joining the tourney, the total number of buy-ins has now reached 2,058 – more than half of the number required to hit the massive $20M Guarantee in the tournament!

Pundits and commentators have been impressed with the player numbers so far, which looks to be on track to match and surpass the huge guarantee. The tournament is already the largest in partypoker history and one of the largest in online poker history overall!

The chip leader to the end of Day 1B was Argentinian “patrondelmal” (21,904,963 chips), and there are two Canadians in the top 10, Troy “good player” Quenneville (15,442,304 chips) and Shyam “S_dot111” Srinivasan (13,678,675 chips). There are several other players we have gotten to know here at Playground that were able to make their way through Day 1B as well: partypoker Pro Sam Trickett (5,576,388 chips), MILLIONS North America 2018 SHR Champ Christopher “Ad_Finem” Kruk (7,432,053 chips), and Thomas “tomcemm” Cemm (4,057,554 chips), among others.

Overall, 73 players managed to navigate through Day 1B to secure their spot in Day 2 of the event – with the Day 1A qualifiers, there are now 303 players set to take the restart on December 4 at 2:00pm.

There’s a lot of action left to go before Day 2, however. There’s a full schedule of satellites starting at as little as $0.01, with feeders available for $1.10, $5.50, $22, $109, and $530, each of which features an ambitious guarantee or even a built-in overlay! Day 1C is the next starting flight on the schedule, and it’s set to get underway on Sunday December 2 at 2:00pm. Day 1D follows on Monday December 3 at 2:00pm and the Turbo Day 1E will begin at 7:00am on Tuesday December 4.

Good luck!

The Steps system features satellites at 3 different buy-in levels to appeal to players no matter what their bankroll or experience level. Step 1 satellites award seats into the next scheduled Step 2 satellite, which in turn awards seats to a $1,500 + $150 Step 3 satellite – and once you’re there, you’ll be playing for a $10,300 seat in the MILLIONS Main Event in May!

  • $80 + $10: Step 1 Satellite
  • $400 + $40: Step 2 Satellite
  • $1,500 + $150: Step 3 Satellite

Players may start with the Step 1 and play their way through all of the steps, or may choose to start directly in Step 2, Step 3 – or even simply buy in to the MILLIONS Main Event directly.

If you do choose to play your way into the event, Steps satellites for MILLIONS get underway with a Step 1 satellite on Sunday December 2, and then every Friday and Sunday at 8:00pm throughout the month. There are 5 Step 2 seats guaranteed for each!

2018 has been a huge year in the poker world, and the year is concluding with a bang with MILLIONS Online on partypoker! We previewed the $5,300 MTT last week, and with Sunday’s Day 1A now in the books, it’s becoming clear that the event is delivering on its promise to be the largest single online MTT in history!

Day 1A ran on Sunday November 25th and featured a total of 1,574 entries, which got the tournament off to a great start by contributing almost $8M to the prize pool. There’s still a long way to go to reach the ambitious $20,000,000 Guarantee, but with the amazing feeders and Mega satellites underway every day, there’s plenty of opportunity left for players to join the event for much less than the $5,300 buy-in amount.

Through the 18 levels of play on Day 1A, the 1,574 entries were whittled down to just 230 Day 2 qualifiers. The chip leader following Day 1A is Phil Gruissem, who has amassed almost 27M in chips – from a 1,000,000 starting stack – and will start Day 2 with 224bb!

When play wrapped up on Day 1A there were 29 Canadians still left in the field, including a few players we’ve seen frequently at Playground in the past few years: Alexis Urli (14th place, 14,406,974 chips), Michael Watson (29th place, 11,541,000 chips), and David Baba (31st place, 11,308,151 chips).

There are also a few all-world players still in the field, including Chris Moorman (10th place, 15,374,000 chips), Viktor “Isildur1” Blom (110th place, 6,303,392 chips), and partypoker Pro Joao Simao (164th place, 4,011,108 chips).

The schedule to come (all times EST):

  • Day 1B: Thursday November 29, 2:00pm
  • Day 1C: Sunday December 2, 2:00pm
  • Day 1D: Monday December 3, 2:00pm
  • Turbo Day 1E: Tuesday December 4, 7:00am
  • Day 2: Tuesday December 4, 2:00pm
  • Final Day: Wednesday December 5, 2:00pm

Good luck to everyone playing in this one-of-a-kind event!
